I used to get their $1 self serve cookies as part of their daily deals, but last week they told me first that they werent doing daily deals anymore, then they backpedaled and said that that only applied to the smaller cookies ($1.29) vs the bigger ones ($1.99), even though the muffins are $2.29 and theyre all self serve and the flyer doesnt specify. Also, they never make enough salmon sushi rolls for their Wednesday $5 sushi deal, so theres none left when I get out of work, and my girlfriend says the vegetables at the hot bar arent always fully cooked.

My husband and I stopped by here today passing through. This place is amazing! Very inviting and so many vegan and plant based options! A sales associate named Debbi helped me find exactly what I was looking for in the bath and body department. She was just such a nice person. This store would be a staple in my weekly life if I lived in the area.

So happy this location reopened. Really great baked goods, and always interesting finds like my favorite champagne, St. Hilaire, at an excellent price point! Oh and Natural Brew Outrageous ginger ale. The best! Last autumn Earth Fare had big heirloom pumpkins at $6.99. Fabulous shapes, exterior surfaces, and colors. I got one in a creamy white oblate shape and another big gnarly grey one. Created a nice decoration on my porch arranging them with a big purple Costco mum. I love to stop in just to see what’s new. Thanks Earth Fare.

I’m new to Williamsburg and have been scouring the area for MY grocery store, and Earth Fare is it!! Other stores (Publix, Harris Teeter, Fresh Market, ALDI, Food Lion) had really underwhelming selections of organic items/produce. Walking into Earth Fare was a huge sigh of gratitude and relief for me.

I love their prepared foods department. Great stuffed portobello mushrooms, chicken salad, vegetarian dishes, etc. They have a $9.00 meal deal where you can pick a protein and 2 sides :-D Great! Awesome customer service at their counter where Rebecca, Vel, and Dorothy may assist you. The bakery is fantastic too. They have many delectable delights to tempt you. I order their pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and muffin of the day (morning glory) which my husband and I are now addicted to. Brittany is the bakery manager and she is always happy to help in any way that she can. Earth Fare has weekly sales like Tuesday is $2.99 chicken breasts, and Thursday is crabcakes 2/$10. You can sign up to receive their emails. Earth Fare has sent me coupons, and they will keep you up to date on whats on sale in the store weekly and on the weekend. This store is a welcome addition to Williamsburg, and we should support them. If you enjoy eating healthy, fresh, delicious food, try Earth Fare :-)

Best Bulk Bins! They have liquids such as honey, olive oil, & vinegar in bulk. Some comments say this is like Whole Foods or Fresh Market - I DISAGREE! The quality is much higher. Today was my first time in; the butcher told me that ALL their meat meets non-GMO, antibiotic free, cruelty free standards. They also have a Food Boot List; they boot dirty foods with 108 ingredients that are banned from their stores including artificial preservatives, MSG, trans-fats, Sodium Hexametaphosphate, & High Fructose Corn Syrup . (I checked out their website for this.) Earth Fare fills a serious whole in the market for people who want REAL FOOD in their bulk bins and not just a bunch of junk food. If youre environmentally conscious and dont want to purchase food in tons of one-time use plastic, Earth Fare seems to be a much better choice as their staff is accommodating; you can bring your own bags or jars to fill and they will tare off the weight. Their bulk bins have just about everything you need: several types of rice, flours, beans & nuts galore; best bulk in the area (I live in VA Beach, so Im considering all of Hampton Roads). In addition, their organic fresh food is much better than WF or FM because Earth Fare has a good amount of Organic thats not wrapped in needless plastic. Yes, there is some needless plastic, but definitely less than at other grocery stores. For people who want CLEAN FOOD, Earth Fare is definitely filling a niche! Im super glad to have a choice finally!!!!

I love Earthfare. The food is amazing. I travel over 25 minutes from where I live just to go to the store for grocery shopping. Its a must for people who like organic food choices. They also have great homemade meals ready to go too. They have a juice bar and their kale lemonade is delicious. Earthfare has great prices and reminds me a lot of how Wholefoods used to be. You can even buy milk at Earthfare in glass bottles and get a deposit for the next time you buy that milk, you just have to bring the glass bottle back. They also, have homemade cookies you can buy by the pound that remind me of Christmas. On Tuesdays, it half off soup day. The place is bright and cheerful and the staff is real nice. Well worth your time to try it out.

Went today for their grand opening. They had lots of wonderful specials and sales. Produce looked really nice not wilted and old like fresh market and Whole Foods looks sometimes. I had a piece of pizza for lunch and it was very good and good price. The people working there were very friendly and helpful. The only ones who were not nice were the ones at checkout... They are talking to each other instead of talking to the customer which is awful. This is not customer service at its finest. I have worked in customer service all my life and I can tell you that people my age abhor this kind of treatment. Whole Foods checkout people are the same... they ignore you or talk to someone else. This is an upscale store.. please train your checkout people to make eye contact and talk to the customer.

EarthFare has a wonderful selection of organic and heirloom produce and artesian everything as well as bulk foods (which are hard to find) and very pleasant employees. They also revitalized a derilict shopping centers anchor store and gave the whole strip new life--major props for good citizenship. The meat department has many organic and free range choices. The deli has things I havent tasted elsewhere. The cheese corner is a delight, as is the young lady who (wo)mans it. They have an impressive selection of craft beers in the cooler. Their prepared foods are also extensive and look delicious. They have sushi you can eat without trepidation and the excellent pre-cooked whole chicken is $5 daily. There is also a fresh juice bar.As a very experienced bread and pie baker, who became gluten intolerant late in life, the bakery makes me want to weep for joy. You should go crazy and try every kind of bread EF makes, such is the impression of what Ive seen and smelled. The crackle of the fresh loaves is not something you can get outside NYC. I havent seen bread like this short of my own kitchen. As groceries go, EF is a little pricey, but what you get for the price is amazing selection and very high quality food given to you by people who actually seem kinda okay with their world, not *forcibly* cheery over top of personal misery (like at the big W).Some things are worth paying for.

I want to like this place, I do. I love the idea of the self-serve nuts and seeds, olive oil, Etc. But I will probably never come back. The prices are obnoxious. Even for items where you can get the exact same thing at Food Lion for half the price. I dont know what theyre doing with all that extra money, it certainly isnt staff, because it was busy when I was there and they only had 2 cashiers going, and one of them kept having to stop ringing up items to answer the phone. I asked the very nice young woman if that was normal, and she said yes. That is ridiculous. And it was next to impossible to find an employee walking around that you could ask for help locating an item. On top of all of that, both a container of raspberries and of mushrooms were moldy the next day when I opened them. So yeah, all the pretentiousness of Whole Foods, without the quality. The only bright spot was that the employees I did interact with were very nice.

Great store. I loved it in Charleston, SC and this location isnt a disappointment.Update: Train cashiers to not tip a pizza on its side to look for the barcode. We visited Williamsburg over the Christmas holidays and stopped in to check out this grocery store. My husband who was in the wholesale meat industry for a number of years had never been to an Earth Fare. The variety of fruits, veggies, meats and groceries are mind boggling. Hard to find items, large selection of various meat jerky items, nice fresh seafood etc. Great deli section and hot and cold bars for lunch. Our favorite item was the Cotton Candy grapes. In spite of being relatively new, it seemed old, not in a bad way, just not modern like, narrow ailes, medium lighting, employees with uniforms, no uniforms, some without name tags, etc... One final point, my wife and I each ordered a prepared slice of pizza. We then had to take the pizza through the check out line to pay for it and then were able to return to the table area to eat the pizza... One would think they could come up with some way to pay for the prepared food without having to check out first...

I live around the corner and have frequented this place since it’s opened. A few things:1) Even before stepping foot inside the store it’s obvious it’s going to be expensive, and it is. Shopping here is going to cost you.2) The shopping experience (walking around and looking) is a blast, except for when you need help. The employees are generally unhelpful. For example, you can find yourself standing at the juice bar or pizza station (or anywhere for that matter) for over 15 minutes as multiple EF employees pass you. When you finally do find someone for help—again, they seem unhappy you’ve interrupted what they were doing.3) THE HOT FOOD BAR. Perhaps the biggest disappointment in the whole store. You can see what lengths corporate EF has gone to to maximize sales from the hot food bar: the menu items sound delicious, they rotate food frequently, and it’s convenient. Except Williamsburg EF seems to go out of their way to dissuade shoppers from getting food here. The bar almost never has its food labeled (watch out- what you think is chicken is likely tofu) and employees themselves almost never even know what they’ve put in the bar. Another big problem is consistently in quality. Sometimes it is delicious but sometimes it tastes like they found it outside in Nawab’s dumpster. Doing a good job with the hot food bar could easily bring in customers to the store and it’s mind boggling that management doesn’t seem to understand this potential.4) One positive aspect of EF are the fun things they sell, like water bottles and reusable containers. If you’re patient, things usually go on sale and you can buy some nifty stuff for cheap.5) Another positive is the cafe. They have coffee (caf/decaf) and a decent seating area, a good spot for meeting friends for coffee.Overall-- the fact that service is bad and prices are ridiculous makes EF a place only very wealthy people [who don’t have high expectations for service] can consistently shop at. Sometimes running in quick for a coffee or niche item can be worth it but other than that you’re better off going somewhere else.

We were visiting Williamsburg on vacation, as we do every October. Passed by this new store and decided to go check it out.Sign outside advertised $4.99 sandwiches on the day we were there. Nobody in the deli knew anything about it. Thought that was weird, but whatever. But then, we had an awful experience with the cashier over the Angies boom chickapop popcorn. One sign said it was 2/$5, another, on the same end cap, said it was $3.99, and a third sign, on yet another display in a different part of the store, said it was $4.29. We got an employee to come look at it and even he couldnt make any sense of it, and he said, for your trouble, Ill give you any 2 for $5, and Ill get someone to correct these signs.Well, the cashier wouldnt do that. First she insisted the sale price was only for reward card holders, but the sign said no such thing. Plus, we explained that we were from out of town and didnt have such a card. All the other stores in the area will swipe their reward card for us, but not this girl. Then, she insisted that the sign only pertained to 4.4 ounce packages. Well, they dont COME in 4.4 ounce packages, only 4.5, but she said those didnt qualify. At least 3 cashiers gathered around trying to figure it out. They werent being friendly at all, they seemed to gang up on us to convince us that we were in the wrong.Bottom line is, they should have given us any 2 flavors for $5, as thats what the sale sign said. She just looked annoyed and asked us if we still wanted the 2 bags we had tried to purchase, even though they werent going to give us the sale price. Needless to say, we said no.There are 5 more people joining our group for our second week of vacation, and they are big organic food eaters. We HAD planned on sending them to this store, but after the fiasco with these rude employees, no way. They lost our business for good.

I do like this store very much since I have a certain diet that I have to stick to because of food allergies. However this store has horrible horrible prices! I guess because its in the heart of Williamsburg and right by William and Mary College. Their prices are way too high you can Bargain shop for these items and get them cheaper. A lot of their gluten-free items are twice as much as the items at other stores like Publix and Harris teeters Walmart Etc. If you have money to waste or endless amounts of it go ahead spend your money there. I do like the fact that they have a lot of organic things. they need to start putting items on sale. I have noticed a few items go on sale but I have also noticed a lot of other items do not go on sale. To make them a more reasonable purchase these items need to go on sale. Otherwise I feel like Im at a car dealership paying way too much for them!Im giving the store to stars because if theyre horrible high prices. But like I said I do like the store because they have a variety of things. I also like the vitamins and other things that you can get here. Their prices can come down!
