Very clean and well organized. The staff is knowledgeable and give prompt service. I went in for some parts to clean and tune up my riding mower and they suggested a few more items I would have otherwise forgot about. Usually go in about 3-4 times a spring/summer and theyve always been good if not great.
Wow the staff are impressively friendly and service oriented. They answered all my questions and provided excellent service suggestions. The staff even helped me unload my Honda push mower from my car. The mower was repaired in the time they indicated and the price for the repair was very fair.

Top notch customer service. Great place to shop for new equipment or to get old equipment serviced or fixed. It sometimes takes a couple weeks to get your equipment back, but thats just because they are always busy. Its worth the wait!

I like this place, but I think I made my last purchase there. Went in this morning to buy a new zero turn. Walked around their show room for about 20 minutes and not a single person came to see if I needed help. Every register had a representative at it. One customer besides me. So I went over to Burke equipment and bought my zero turn there. Wasn’t even looking 60 seconds before someone helped me. How it should be, especially when you got a pocket full of money. Apparently they have enough business there, so they didn’t need mine.
I purchased a Toro lawn mower from Suburban Lawn Equipment about a year ago. Iwas very hesitant to purchase from there because I thought I could get a better pricefrom the Home Depot. But I was able to get a deal on a slightly used Toro (used onceand returned) from Suburban.This year I had a problem with the lawn mower. The third time using it this season, itstopped working. I took it back to Suburban expecting I would not get it back for 2 - 3weeks. As he was entering my information for the claim ticket, he asked me a questionregarding whether the gas I used was new or old. He then explained to me that youshould never use gas that is older than 6 months in a lawn mower. We finished theclaim ticket and then he helped me take the lawn mower out of my car. He said that hewould not be able to look at it until tomorrow, but I asked him to pull the started cord.The engine started, but did not reach the full RPMs, which is what I experienced. Thenhe asked me did I push the lawn mower under some bushes. My answer was yes, andin 10 minutes, he was able to fix my lawn mower! He was then able to explain to me thedamage I caused.You cannot get this type of service from the big box stores. You may save money withthe initial purchase, but you do not get the experience that comes with people whospecialize in a specific line of products. I will tell this story to my friends and highlyrecommend Suburban Lawn Equipment to them.

Everyone that Ive worked with that has been nothing short of a pleasure to deal with. Suburban makes it really convenient for a residential owner of a zero turn to have their unit picked up and dropped off and Im about 20 miles away from them! Services prices are very reasonable and I know when I get the my Hustler Fastrak back its always in tip top shape. Wouldnt consider taking my business anywhere else.

I had a chainsaw I recently purchased at SubLawn and it went underwater in my garage during the storm. I brought it in to the shop and rather than put it in the queue for a 4 or more day repair job, the associate there, seeing it wasnt that big a job, repaired in right at the counter. He was nice, expert, and patient. It was truly superior customer service. I forgot to get his name, but he works the far left (north) counter spot. Great place to buy lawn equipment, I trust them with my lawn equipment needs.

I was looking for a new lawn tractor and had a idea on what i wanted. I purchased one of my first tractors from Suburban Lawn 20 yrs ago. Travis went over different options for what i will use it for. After many choices he recommended to me the XT2 46 EFI. I never owned a fuel injected lawn tractor, and Travis assured me this would be the best choice and also a very reliable tractor, after it was delivered and i got to use it, this tractor is awesome! im so glad Travis guided me the right way. if you never tried a fuel injected tractor, check out the cub cadet! such a great machine! thank you Travis and Suburban Lawn!

The best service around. All of the other local mechanics seem like they could care less about my equipment and business. It is usually a couple week wait for repairs. The team at Suburban gets it done quickly and correctly. Besides great service, they have just about everything you could need from home owner to professional landscape equipment. Second time I took my equipment in for repair there. First time was a BAD experience. They told me 2 weeks before it got looked at, after 3 and a half weeks, NO calls so I called them. They informed me they were busy and they would get to it soon. I thought it was too long and it was Summer time so I went in and picked up my equipment as I could understand this was their busy time of year. Second time I went in, called them first, it was dead of winter. Informed them that it tool too long the first time, Rep said this is the best time now to bring as they were not busy. I took my equipment in again. Rep said a week to look at my Machines ( 2 ). I said fine. After 2 weeks passed, NO CALL, so I called them. They informed Me my machines have not been looked at and they would get to them this week. After ANOTHER 5 DAYS, Still no calls, so I called them, They informed me yet again they would get to my equipment in less than yet another week. I informed them I was picking up my equipment that day, I did and will never take my machines there again. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS SO CALLED BUSINESS.....
I was scheduled to have Suburban pick up my mower today for some basic maintenance service, because the weather forecast called for 2 of rain today and tomorrow, and I am aware that they store equipment outside, I called to reschedule the appointment til next week when the weather forecast is better. The gentlemen on the phone, or someone he was talking to made rude comments regarding the fact that I did not want to leave my mower out in the rain for 2 days. While probably not a big deal, these 2 guys making jokes about the fact that I try to take care of the expensive equipment I own, is a joke to them. This behavior removed any trust I have in the fact that they will care about my equipment as much as I do. There is no place in business for a customer facing employee to berate or make jokes at a customers expense. As a follow up, I did receive a call from Travis who apologized for the behavior of the person answering the phone, and offered to put a tarp on my mower. I did appreciate his call, but in the future, I will go elsewhere for my lawn equipment needs. Traviss call and attempt to recover the poor service is the reason for 3 stars, vs 1 star in the review.
Went in on Friday for some items for my old chain saw. They were busy, but they got me what I needed. They went on to show me how to sharpen the chain, use the right fuel, and pick a new saw if I ever needed one.They had a part for a saw that was pretty old. I wish I knew the names of the three guys who waited on me, so I could mention them. It just goes to show that who ever you got to wait on you was going to help in any way they could. I was in need of a part that was not a lot of money, yet these folks went out of there way tohelp me with what I needed. I called back later, and they ordered a part over the phone for me. I had to drive across town to get to them, but it was worth it. For any other purchases Im going straight to Suburban.Im no chain saw expert. These people got it that I was out of my area of expertise trying to fix my saw.They didnt care, they just jumped in and got me what I needed to finish the job. I know the limitations of my saw, which they were happy to explain. Im going back to buy a new saw in the near future, knowing that they will sell me exactly what I need, for a fair price.

I was in need of a pressure washer to do some cleaning on a home I recently purchased, told the salesman what I was doing and he suggested the Echo Bearcat pressure washer. What an amazing job this thing did! Another great piece of equipment from a great company to do business with!

Poor excuse for customer service in the history of any business Ive ever dealt with. It seems as if this business is catering to the Mexican customers more and more, your lucky if you get any one of the veterans that have been there awhile to wait on you as they always seem to be busy. The last few times Ive ordered parts with the women that have helped me they have ordered the completely wrong thing causing me to come back, then when I come back and ask to get the correct part I get snickered at and they speak their language amongst each other thinking I dont know what they are saying. Well, I understand and speak perfect Spanish. I finally was able to get the name of the little rudest one named Ruth. Needless to say that after my last visit and some of the things she said to the other staff about me in Spanish I will seeking another business to give my money to. Retrain your staff to treat everyone as equal, your Mexican staff are driving the American customers away.
The company I work for bought a new 61 vride2 61 scag with the 37efi engine hreat mower. Had some engine problem took back on a Monday they fixed in like an hour. Was something simple. Great place to buy a mower or any lawn care stuff

I have always been very pleased with the service that I receive at Suburban Lawn. They have been servicing all of my equipment for quite some time and always do an excellent job. Today we purchased a new zero turn lawnmower from them. Our sales associate Adam was fantastic!! He listened attentively to our needs and helped us select what we feel was the best mower for us. He was informative and well versed on all the equipment. My wife and I felt very much at ease with him. There was no pressure during the sales process. I will recommend Suburban Lawn and specifically Adam to anyone I know looking for great sales and service.

Avoid this shady place! go somewhere else. The scumbag sale man tried to sale me a display item. He tried to play game with me by making me wait at the checkout desk so he can go to the back of the store and tell his people to pick up the display generator and put it in the box and tape it up like it was new. Yes they need to put oil in the generator to see if it working properly, but I specifically asked to see an unopened box first before they do anything. I asked whats the deal with bringing the display generator to the back and he kept lying to my face like I was a stupid customer and didnt know any better. I was done and had to walk away.I got a call the following day that the owner want to speak to me about the issue and potentially I might get a discount on that generator. I just laughed because it was way too late at that point. As soon as I recognized that sale rep was playing game with me I ASK TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE IN CHARGE THERE. Oh yes I did. I left this place pissed off and immediately went to the store close to me and bought what I need, paid in full.

Took my modest, 15 plus year old cultivator in for service after the rope broke on Saturday morning of Memorial Day weekend. Figured that since I would be going to probably have to drop off and leave it, Id have them also replace the gas line (plastic tubing) that was slowly leaking on the cultivator as well and upgrade the line head on my weedwacker as well. As I was getting ready to leave the young lady helping me, realized I didnt understand they were going to fix it then if I had time to wait. Needless to say I was surprised and pleased. I got great service and was very pleased with the price as I was the first time I had service there two years ago. Im no VIP customer just a homeowner they last saw two years ago, but I got VIP customer service and felt the price was very reasonable.

We had been a customer here for many years, and are now small business owners who were giving our business to Suburban. Recently, we went in and ordered a piece to fix a weed wacker and were rudely told that it would be cheaper we just let them fix it, insinuating we wouldnt be able to fix it ourselves (we are well aware that we can, otherwise we wouldnt be ordering the part) We ordered the part and were told 1-2 business days. We waited until the 3rd business day to call and they said another 5-7 business days to wait for the part. When I went in to get a refund and cancel the order, they couldnt care less about our experience, especially being as though we are small business owners. We took our business to Gravely in Hockessin, and had a great experience. No condescending attitudes or lack of customer service there. Not to mention the price of the part was less than half of what Suburban was selling it for. You lost a customer but also business from a small local company. They arent in it for the smaller businesses or customers, they are looking to serve large companies and large ticket price items. We wont be making our large purchases for here in the future.

My family has used Suburban Lawn Equipment for over 25 years, starting back when they were located on Naamans Road in Wilmington, and have since followed them to their new location on Route-4/Newport Pike. They may not be the cheapest, but were firm believers that you get what you pay for: a great selection of products & brands, knowledgeable staff, and expert repairs.Yeah, you COULD buy a Honda or Toro lawnmower at Home Depot (or wherever), but will they (Home Depot) assemble it & adjust it before it leaves the store? No, they wont, but Suburban Lawn Equipment does. If you have an issue with it and bring it through their front door & tell them that you bought it from them & heres the issue, will Home Depot say sorry about that, but give me a few minutes to have a look at it and usually get it back to you while you wait (not always possible, but sometimes)? Nope, youll have to leave it with them for some amount of time, EVERY time.TL;DR Suburban Lawn Equipment is where you want to go if youre looking for quality brands & expertise.
I had been a small customer for many years. I would bring small yard tools in for service, blade sharpening. I would say the service was excellent! But today I came in to pick up a hedge trimmer that I had sharpened . I was met at the counter by a young man with a less than welcoming demeanour. I had also brought a gas hedge trimmer in to have the bar sharpened and tune up.The young man didnt know if they worked on my trimmer (john deere).There was another gentleman who said they did.Not withstanding the gruff attitude I felt from them . I was told that I would need to give a 40 dollar deposit for them to work on my trimmer.It blows my mind that I would need to pay in advance just to sharpen the bar and tune upI felt that I was more of a bother than a valued customer. Its clear they only want the big sales! I dont see a bright future for Suburban!I know I wont be back! Plenty other people to deal with !I want give a good review but I dont think it matters to them!!! They have changed and not for the good ! Clearly NOT INTERESTED in the small guy!Sad to see what was once great Business, certainly in failure mode! What will happen next is they will put a retort of how sorry they are that I feel this way and I should contact them to fix this problem.... Just do right and GIVE THE PROPER ATTENTION TO ALL CUSTOMERS!!! Also I would say if you dont want to be bothered with older equipment just say so and not offend the customer!! I scheduled an appointment to purchase an Exmark Radius Zero Turn mower. While en route to Suburban from Maryland I called to ensure my sale person, that was appointed to me earlier during the week, had arrived. While having a brief conversation with Mr. T (not giving his full name) I learned the mover I request to purchase was sold. I understand they has a business run, however I was promised by Mr. T, if the model that I wanted to purchase was sold prior to my arrival, he would contact me before I made the journey from Maryland. I called in the morning to make sure they had the trimmers I was looking for. I checked the website for the store hours. Website stated they close at 6:00pm. I traveled 40 minutes from PA. I arrived at the store at 5:10. I noticed a sign on the front door that stated winter hours store closes is at 5:00. I opened the door and noticed at least 6 guys standing around. I asked if I could get the trimmers. The gentleman said no the computers are closed. I was going to purchase 2 trimmers for my business. I will take my business elsewhere.
