Very impressed with Ross Jewell and his staff. Ross helped me pick out the best garage doors to complement my house. His staff is very friendly and wanted to make sure I was happy with their work. They did an outstanding job! Love the frosted glass and the sunlight in my garage.

The technician showed up on time, he was experienced, balanced the garage door in a few minutes. He was a pleasant person too. I couldnt ask anything more.

We purchased a door and waited 2 weeks for install. Although it was confirmed twice that the door was in stock, the morning of the installation appointment I received a call stating my door wasn’t there(had been sold to a different customer) and I would have to wait another 2-3 weeks. After waiting another week I received a call to set up a second installation date much sooner than expected. At that time I asked twice to make sure that the door they were bringing and the glass/grid pattern would be what we had ordered and was assured it was. The door was installed with the wrong glass/grid pattern as if I wouldn’t notice and they went ahead and charged my card without authorization before I could even get home from work to inspect the job.The rubber stripping around the exterior of the door was filthy like it had been tossing around in the back of a truck for weeks and covered in black smudges/hand prints, as was my entire garage door. I was told someone would be out the following day to correct the issues and install the correct grids. A gentleman arrived as scheduled, said the door was locked(which it was not), and tried to leave but luckily I caught him as he was driving away. He was there 30 minutes, made an adjustment to the door but did nothing about the rubber stripping or glass/grids that were supposed to be changed. I immediately called my sales rep Aubrey who told me someone else would be out that day to take care of everything and he would be back in touch shortly to let me know when they were coming. It’s now been 48hrs and I have not seen or heard from anyone at Overhead Door.Like I said, they charged my card without authorization, before the job was complete,and charged an additional $150 in labor that wasn’t supposed to be charged, and now I am left contacting my bank to try and reverse the charges so I atleast have some leverage to get them to provide the door I paid for.DO NOT USE OVERHEAD DOOR OF WILMINGTON!!!

Very pleased with the installation of the new direct drive opener. Previous builders grade mechanism never worked correctly even after second power head and door replacement in 3 years. This unit is so quiet and smooth, it is perfect. Steve, the installer, did a superior job and is a craftsman with pride in his work. He also programmed all the cars as well. Highly recommend Overhead for both new work and repairs.

Not generally a review writer but the work done by Overhead warrants praise. I have 4 garage doors at my home--lots of maintenance. Ive had 4 prior companies come to either do work or give estimates. Ive had to have motors replaced/repaired several times and no one before Overhead diagnosed the cause of all the issues. After the installation of the doors, springs and openers--the prior owner added decorative trim (hardee board) and hurricane supports. This nearly doubled the weight of the doors with no one understanding that the springs were now incorrect. This caused openers/motors to fail due to the weight. Steve took the time to explain everything about the springs, openers, rollers etc. to the point that I now know much more about garage doors that any homeowner needs to know! Anyway, I would highly recommend these guys to take care of all your garage door/opener needs. Five stars and two thumbs up.

Late yesterday evening my garage door came loose. I called and went to the after hours line. Described my problem left my address and Bob was here in Minutes!!! This company was to my rescue when another company refused to help me . I called a very popular company last summer for help when i accidentally backed into, my garage door not sure whether to go forward or back to get out of the situation. I called another garage door company that I had used in the past. I explained my situation to the lady who answered the phone and told her it was an emergency and she let me know real fast they did not respond to a situation like mine . Although they advertise they take care of emergencies I have done business with this other company before but I recommend overhead door company since I know first hand for their fast quality work . Sometimes you need to be careful who you hire that answers your phone.

So it’s been 4+ months now since I had this company come in and rework my garage door adding a wall mount opener and reworking the garage door to open close to the ceiling so a car lift could be installed. Since day one the door hasn’t worked right it opens on its own, and fails to close properly. Closes halfway then reopens. I wake up in the morning to find my garage door open. Like I said 4 months 5 service calls later and still not fixed. Today will be the last chance. They either fix it for good today or we are off to small claims court no more BS’ing around ...!!! Stay way away from this company.

Earlier this year Steve repaired our garage door tracks, replaced the rollers, installed a new motor and lubricated the whole works! We were pleased with our initial selection to upgrade to a heavy garage door. From the beginning the door struggled to open. After paying for several service trips we were told the problem was the motor was competing with the same frequency as our cable provider. After 3 years of struggling with a door that frequently did not open or greatly stalled before opening we did deeper research. Learned from our cable company the frequency of our cable and alarm purposely fluctuates and that is NOT the problem.Interviewed several other garage door companies who confirmed the ridiculous posturing by Over Head that it was a conflict with our cable provider. Many Companies confirmed the initial installation By Over Head undersized everything from the coils to the motor installed. Further Over Head installed a very expensive German made system which was not worth trying to modifyWe were building our dream custom retirement home and our fault was not to research our garage door supplier. We could never recommend this company based on our frustrating experience the past 3 years

I called overhead door of Wilmington and spoke to Ross very nice young lad. We had a rather large job and were in a time crunch but he was able to send out Steve, Bob, and D the next day and let me tell you they are absolutely the best service technicians I have ever meet!! True definition of what customer service is meant to be. Not only were able to repair the doors I thought were going have to be replaced they also were able to fix most of the garage door motors saving me a ton of money. Steve took the time and explained everything to me on what they did and gave me some general maintenance tips. If your looking to have your garage door system worked on this is the place to call a company that gives you a honest answer, great customer service, and great attitude what else could you ask for!! I had an issue with my garage door opening randomly and called Overhead Door Company. Come to find out they did not install my overhead garage door, but I had recently replaced an old garage door remote from them. The gentleman walked me through the process of reprogramming my garage door openers and was very patient as I tested it with the openers. Great service from good people is hard to find. I just became a loyal patron and would refer anyone I know to them. Keep up the great customer service!
