Very friendly & helpful & well organized. Its not the biggest grocery store & they were fairly busy but the flow of how the employees worked together made it so there was no wait or confusion. It was well stocked, & exceptionally clean & organized & they had the coolest stuff like piggy banks that were all different sizes shapes & colors & you could tell right away it was one of those places you could spend forever looking over everything they had but it wasnt like the places you go where its cluttered & overwhelming when you walk in. The prices were more then reasonable too. I was looking around at everything & everyone one & my first thought was I wish all businesses (especially grocery stores) were like this. But if I had to choose the one thing that was the most impressive was just how clean & organized it was. I live on the Island & if they had a location there it would be my instant go to store. I wouldnt just give them 10 stars if I could, I create their own personal rating system lol. If youre in the area I would definitely recommend stopping in & checking it out regardless of if you needed to stop at a store or not. Its rare for me to be completely taken aback by any business but I definitely am with this particular one. I cant wait to get back to Wilmington for the day & go back & really get to see all the cool stuff in there.
Great selection of canned, refrigerated and fresh foods. I really loved the bakery aisle. The only down side was the low selection of meat available on the day I drove in from Jacksonville but what I did purchase was excellent.
First time I came here from Jacksonville and honestly last. I came to order some meat and the guy literally did not want to serve me. He only gave me a part of my order. I had to get someone else to help me out. Even then they had to ask for permission to serve me. The meat is also not even good quality. This is literally the only carneceria that is just bad. No vale la pena.
Used to live in Jacksonville, NC and drove down here one day. It was magic to my eyes to see the bread, the meats, the Mexican groceries, totally worth the drive. To too it off, they had tamales! Not sure if they still sell tamales here but it sealed the deal for making the drive out here.
We ordered a Tres Leches cake for our son’s au pair from Colombia. We ordered a small which is about 9x13 She wanted coconut filling with chantilly cream icing. It was so light and tasty. Not overly sweet. Fabulous cake.
Amazing
I always cash my checks there. They are always on point staff, and they always greet you at the door.5 🌟 stars for sure....
They have so many great items here. There food always tastes fresh and their sweet breads are worth the stop!
After going to Harris - Teeter to buy a box of Mexican rice and seeing the price was $4.99 for a 12 oz box, I went to Los Portales and bought two serving of their already prepared yellow Hispanic rice for $1.25. Having just returned from my first visit to Cancun and really appreciating the food of Mexico, I was thrilled to find Los Portales in Wilmington. The people at Los Portales are courteous and more than willing to help with questions in my broken Spanish. I cant wait for their prepared Chile relents on Friday. The rice was delicious and authentico.
Hello Wilmington residents I purchased Roscas de Reyes on 1/5/20 I’m regular Custumer, unfortunately a hair was found on bread so I call store and Spoke with owner Miguel Visalleñor, beginning of conversation everything was fine to point owner ask me for my house residence Address to mail money order, eventually Miguel (owner ) got mad really easy and star Cussing me out for no reason, today about 8: 20 pm Miguel Show up at my house I believe to try to star something I can tell He was for no good here, He trying to give me a Check and I told him how inprofessional he was a no reason to cuss me out, Since he was at my house and he know who I am for years he turned around and left, clase C... everything is on video so I can Prove it, He was driving a big truck. Thanks
I think this is the only Latin market in this college area, so it is packed anytime open. They have lots of delicious breads and meals you can purchase. Good selection of refrigerated products and dried goods. You can order tres leches cake and others but, have to order and come back to get them.Everyone seemed nice, but if you dont speak Spanish, most of them do not speak much English. You can always Google a product that you dont know what it is.We got some Mexican crema and chili spices to make elotes, and some breads, and drink packets. Enjoyed it all.
Love their food. My favorite is their chicken. And they bake their bread so its fresh and very good.
I love this place Such a beautiful great place I love the hard work and the products such a great place where people come together all shapes and sizes and just magnificent!!! Keep up the amazing work!!!
Love the barbacoa** fresh home made sweet bread
They have all I need to make tamales for my family, plus pan dulce🤗
Great place to shop for Hispanic groceries and the prices are not bad...the hot food is really good as well
Everything is delicious! Fresh homemade corn tortillas, salsas, and desserts.
Amazing. as someone who moved here from San Antonio Tx where there are Mexican groceries EVERYWHERE, this was great!
I love the bill pay, Mexican Cokes and the donuts!
Great food and Fresh. Good People!!!
Nice place. 4* because most of the items don’t have prices on them
Over charged my credit card. Rude attitudes toward the customers.
Best market in Wilmington for Mexican products.
They have a great selection of items, but its size is small and overcrowding has become a problem for people wishing to avoid hassle and long lines
Love it the food is amazing
Not satisfied
Exelente producto la comida es muy buena pero el servicio no es mi opinión o quisas ese día tenían un día pesado
Everything is very delicious, the only bad thing is the bad attitude of those who are at the register charging they treat you as if you asked them for a gift, they should have a better attitude with customers since they charge from us, their salary
I would give it 5 stars if it wasnt for. Q the greaves are too hard and I have given him many chansa but each harder but the rest very well
Very good place to buy Latino products
To be the first time what I tried to order a cake on the website was iso lousy service I do not know if it was my fault I found it orderly 6 hours before the time I wanted to pick it up. I do not know if it was their fault to inform me that they could not see the order why they left all my contact information and they confirm me by gmail. Your order has been received. Do not forget to pick it up and put it in the store. And then at the time of picking up what my order was not because why is it too late my question is because they confirm that they aseptaron the order or because not to warn their order can not be created what they lack more professionalism and seriousness and apart from the employees as well the strangers grudgingly grab what they do not even want to attend
The three milks of mocha is very delicious and the Choco Flan so rich and the workers very nice people and friendly ☺️
The meat is very black 🤢 very poor quality but the bread is very good
It feels very nice to visit Los Portales, it is a very clean, tidy place, everything in its place and very good attention.
Rich bread and also meat and chicken of good quality!
Many Hispanic products and warm bread on Mondays.
