Blown away with how my wife & I were treated by Shane - We called ahead to ensure an outdoor sectional was still available (the line had been discontinued, so it was the last one), unbeknownst to Shane, it had been sold, as we showed up to purchase the sectional, Shane informed us of the previous sale.Certainly wasn’t anyone’s fault, just one of those things 🤷🏻‍♂️ Well, Shane could have simply apologized and sent us on our way… but no, Shane wanted to make sure we were happy and encouraged us to check out the other items.Ultimately we did purchase another sectional & love it! (and are returning today to buy another couch). We have always liked World Market for their inventory & such, but now we are loyal customers thanks to Shane and how he handled the situation.

I like World Market - what woman wouldn’t? Cool mugs, fun rugs and pillows, quality furniture, knickknacks galore. Their pear cider hits the spot. But those aren’t exactly the reasons I’ll keep shopping there. One word - Truman. He is arguably the kindest, most helpful retail associate in Wilmington. Nay, the east coast. World Market, if you have any business savvy - hold on to this employee and hold on tight. Truman provides such excellent customer service, I told my better half we need to find excuses to buy things at World Market for Truman.

There was a male manager there who didnt want to help my mother and I find a dress. I felt immediate discomfort when I ask if he had other dresses in the back. It seemed as though I was a bother to him. He gave excuses as to why he could not go in the back and look. I have been to other stores like kholes, Walmart and etc and no matter what a sales associate was doing, they always looked in the back and I never felt that I was a great inconvenience. I know what it is like to be inconvenienced at work, so when I ask for help and when I am disturbing a worker, I am ALWAYS mindful to be polite. I am mindful to apologize for the interruption. My mother and I are black. The male manger is white. I dont know if that is the reason for the lazy service. My mother ended up not buying a dress. World Market online is better.

Always nice to browse. Many unique items from around the world. Merchandise changes all the time. You never know what you will find. Fun store to visit.

We shop at the World Market in Wilmington quite often and have made a couple of large furniture purchases this year.On both occasions, we were assisted by an employee named Truman, who was an awesome guy and did everything he could to ensure that we had a fantastic experience. It’s a cool store and the furniture is nice, but the experience is what will keep us coming back! The world could use more Truman’s!

If I could give negative star, I would. This rating is for this store not the entire business... my family, as well as myself, have experienced nothing but racial discrimination at the cost plus world market in Wilmington, NC. Every single time we have walked in we are followed, stared at, and watched. You can feel the eyes on you by one particular female employee. Ive been a store manager and I understand how stores operate. Ive reached out to regional managers and nothing has been done. My family and I arent even spoken to but you can see, and hear, employees talking to other people- checking on them and asking if they need any assistance. Not once have my parents or myself have been approached seeing if we need any assistance or shopping for anything in particular. One employee was no less than 3 feet from my mother and I, she clearly spoke to the caucasian family, greeted them with great energy (doing as youre supposed to do with everyone who walks in your business). But never opened her mouth to us, only watched us, followed us, and stared. If you are a POC, I wouldnt shop at this location. Needless to say we stopped shopping at this one, and honestly I hate that cause now I have to shop online or when Im in the RDU area thats where I have to shop. We love the products that CPWoldMarket have but my family cannot shop in a place where we are clearly being discriminated for our skin tones. Go to the one in Raleigh, they are amazing and always give the best service.

First time visit. Unique. A bit pricey though for what I am willing to spend.

Thank goodness this place is here after Pier One is gone. They have cool things from around the world, furniture, home decor and even wine. Plus, where else can you get scented candles and Tibetan Prayer Flags in one place?

All manner of eclectic merchandise in here - just fun to go in and look around now and then. A little on the pricey side, but sometimes you have to pay a little more to find exactly what you want.

Save yourself the hassle and financial burden by not ordering anything online with Cost Plus World Market. 1* hour wait times on the phone, broken furniture, missed information in return orders, accounts not being credited and interest building up on purchases made with cc card (meant to pay off at month end if furniture wasn’t broken). I used to love this store and frequent it and this experience has made me very leery of ever buying anything online from them again.

A bit of a wait at checkout for 3pm on a Friday. Otherwise, they had everything I came in for.(Werent able to accept e-gift cards Id earned via Kelloggs Family Rewards that were supposedly usable at World Market, Bed Bath & Beyond and other affiliated stores. This could be a problem on the gift card end, though.)

Four stars instead of five because they do not deliver. If you think thats unfair...okay, five stars. There is no clutter, aisles are clear of obstructions, shelves are well-stocked, and there is free, hot coffee samples at the rear of the store. If you like the java, product for purchase is adjacent to the prepared coffee in the pot. Nearby, there are shelves stocked with sweets and treats.The remainder of the store has an eclectic selection of widely varied things you would like in your home. We found well-priced, non-stick frying/sautee pans which are metal-utensil safe. Thats right, they dont scratch! I purchased them as a surprise gift for my sister because she was admiring them. The price point was just right.Be prepared to spend time in this store to window shop; to discover unique furniture as well as the occasional gourmet find you thought you could do without.

I love World Market for their large inventory of unique goods ranging from furniture, decor, household items, food, drinks, coffee, wine & so much more. Inventory is from different countries all over the world. I ended up getting an entire bedroom set from World Market complete with night stands, dressers and a bookshelf. My favorite furniture purchase ever! Easy to assemble. Affordable especially with all the deals and coupons they offer. Quick delivery. Caring customer service reps!

I love this world market. They always have so much beautiful furniture. The clearance is always a really great place to get some nice plates and bowls for summer parties. I wish this one had the Kinder Hippos like all the others. Such a bummer when I go here and they never have them.

Best store ever! If you need anything, chances are you can find it here. They have a wide variety of candy from around the world and the products they sell are so cute. Things can be on the pricey side so beware.

I am rating my recent experience only - I love this store. I shop here on a regular basis but my recent encounter will have me questioning my future shopping choices.Yesterday I went into the store hoping to purchase a coffee table. I found one on the floor and asked a store representative to check to see if they had one in stock. She came back several minutes later with a larger box on a wheeled cart. We went up to the cashier together. I paid and showed her to my car. As the associate was loading it into my car I stood in disbelief. The table was in 3 separate open boxes that had clearly been damaged. She pulled the tables frame out of the large box, no packaging for this piece and proceeded to pull off the styrofoam pieces. She advised that I use dish soap to remove the pieces she couldn’t and the globe of glue up the sides. I walked back into the store and spoke to the cashiers that had checked me out. My biggest concern being, if I got home and found the table unable to be put together because world market furniture is often flawed - I shop here a lot - no one would accept this as a return. She called her manager - he was very rude with no remorse for how unprofessional this was handled. I explained to him that I could not see someone accepting this back as a return, he said, “I’m telling you I will.” In a very snarky tone to which I commented, “and if you’re not here or don’t remember this particular sale?” He responded with “You can return it now but it’s on sale and you won’t get the sale price.”I returned the table immediately.Monday, September 2 2019 - approximately 4pm.Again, this is one of my favorite stores and I most likely will not be returning because of the horrific service.

I absolutely love this store. Any item can be found here and some odd items that are hard to find elsewhere. I had never been in one until I moved to Wilmington and everyone in this store is friendly and helpful. I could spend hours in here.

The store was clean and the people friendly. Honestly, I need a chaperone when I come here because I want to buy everything! Theres home decor, furniture, food, libations, and goodies for the kiddos as well. Cultural influences of the inventory are from all over: India, Canada, France, Germany, etc.

This is a great location. I have always been treated well when shopping at the Wilmington, NC store. Most recently, I ran in just before closing, found what I wanted, and was kindly taken care of at the cash register.

Huge selection of neat things. Lots of snacks! And lots of beer. Also a very large selection of wine. Some kitchenware too, and lovely mugs. Other nifty things as well! Very fun place to shop. Their website is horrible, however, which makes digital coupons a chore to use.

Kim was very helpful and another staff member to assist me in getting my rewards strighten out so that could get the best price on all my great finds. The store has made the aisles wider so you can can make can navigate the store more readily.

Always a pleasant place to stop. We live over 1hr + away so we make a day of it in the area when we decide to visit the store. I would give it 5 stars but they were out some items I wanted.

They carry this Fuji Apple flavored Sake I tried at Nikkis.

I like coming here, there is sometimes new things and periodically a little bird that visits! But man some of the prices are pretty steep but it makes sense because it is imported goods!

This store has a ton of options! Everything from furniture to drapery to beer and food from all over the world. The beer selection is amazing and you can create your own 6-pack. There is also a ton of wine available, again from all over the world. Go and get some snacks, and beer, then pick up some lawn furniture and youre ready for a party!

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FROM ANY WORLD MARKET. About a year ago, I ordered something online. My credit card was charged twice but luckily I received two orders so I was able to take the product back to negate the charge. I should have learned from that. I ordered something a few days ago. I went to look at my statement and found that AGAIN I was charged twice. This time, I was only given one confirmation email, so only one product. When I called the customer service desk, they told me that it was my banks fault. My bank assured me that it wasnt. I then called World Market customer service and found that it was their issue to begin with. This was after two separate hold times of 30 mins, mind you. If this company is going to charge you twice for every order, they really need to let their customers know, especially when the customers are making larger orders.

Fun store for food, wine, greeting cards as well as all kinds of household furnishings

Trying to purchase a $800 table, I was told was in stock, rented a truck and went to pick up the table and was told that it was in the back of the warehouse and they wouldnt be able to get it until the following day. So we extended the truck rental, get a call the day they told us we could pick it up that it wont be available to pick up for two days later. Weve rented a truck now for two days for no reason and would be going without a table for thanksgiving. Ive never dealt with such an incompetent and rude manager at any store Ive ever been to. On my way to get my money back to hunt for a new table elsewhere. I cant think of anything that would make me want to go into that store again.
