Sort of a mom & pop establishment. The entrance is a tattoo art museum and the tattooist is in a little office down the hall ( he is the only tattoo artist there if I am not mistaken) and at the end of the hall is the Mistress of Book with her artistic books of tattoos lining said hallway. (In the glow of the picture of the Asian flowers [also a part of the museum] you can see said books reflected). It is only lacking in that he has very few displays of his own tattoo work.

This was my first tattoo and Aaron was amazing! He told me everything there was to know about tattoos and was patient with me and redrew what I wanted like four times. When I got the perfect drawing he started off slow since I was afraid of the pain of a tattoo and coached me through it. It was done in like 5 minutes since I got something small; and he was still willing to take breaks if it was too much for me! So happy with my tattoo and that I got Aaron. Recommend 382929% and will for sure come back to get more done with him!! This is when I first got it done, compared to 4 hours later after following tattoo care instructions from Aaron. Thank you guys!

I got a tattoo here not too long ago he did an amazing job and was super friendly. He gave good advice on the tattoo and was very informative. I am very happy with his work and will be going back for more ink therapy.

Johnny Tugboat is a phenomenal artist. The shop itself is mostly a gallery style tattoo museum, and the owner, Chuck, is unbelievably knowledgeable. If youre looking for a shop that isnt pumping heavy metal (no offense, just not my thing) and is as clean as they come, Tattoo Archive is the place for you.

Yall..... TATTOO ARCHIVE IS AMAZING! I went and was tattooed by Tugboat Johnny. I got my first two tattoos done in one 2 hour sitting. A piece on my left and right forearm. When I went in for my consultation, I brought in the sketches I had drawn up and Johnny scanned them and kept a copy to work from. I came back the nest week for my appointment, I was blown away by the sketches Johnny had made. He took my vision and brought it to heights I couldnt have imagine. Each piece took an hour and the price was more than fair. Johnny is a wonderful conversationalist and an exceptional creator and artist. If I decide to have anymore work done, I will not hesitate to go back to Johnny. I would wait months for an appointment because I know I get exactly what I want. I cannot say enough good things about this shop and its artists. 5 stars is not enough stars. It was a pleasure to have my first pieces done here and if you are reading this and are looking for a shop, you have found and excellent shop.

Got my very first Tattoo here with Tugboat Jonny, and it was an amazing experience. After explaining everything that was going to happen, he drew it out and thats exactly what I have. He Talked to me and my Boyfriend the entire time over questions we had and I walked out with an amazing Tattoo for a VERY fair price. Just make an appointment out of respect because they ask you to, though they do take walk-ins. Everyone was kind and helpful. 10/10 would recommend.

Have not got a tattoo yet but if the management is anything to go by this is a great place. Very helpful and willing to answer questions. They also have tattoo books for sale and the prices seem fair. The shop minimum also seems fair and the staff seem really knowledgeable. I plan on having one of my next tattoos done here.

Chuck seems to be a great guy. He has loads of tattooing experience and life experience. He is a blast to chat with, and seems to genuinely like talking to people. He has tattooed me, my wife, and I have an appointment to go back soon!

My stepdad and I went in for a consolation. My stepdad gave the man a $20 down payment towards his cover up a few months ago. My stepdad has not heard back at all and neither have I. We left numbers and everything. I heard good things so I took a chance. I will not be getting tattoos there.

An absolutely wonderful place for people new or old to tattoos. i have two from johnny and his linework and color are absolutely marvelous. i’m so impressed by the quality of all his work, and how well it stands the test of time. the people here are experienced, the environment is comfortable, and i’d highly recommend (and have recommended!) it to anyone looking for a tattoo of any kind
