Everything about my experience was wonderful. This was my third try to get my computer fixed - First, I went to Best Buy (too expensive and time consuming) and then, the Computer Store on Jonestown (they wouldnt help me and offered to recycle it for no charge). I wish I had just gone to Intrex first! They were honest and told me the costs upfront and were honest about the fact that I could sell it for salvage value if I didnt want to get it fixed. They set my expectations for how long the repair would take. They did a great job too! Im happy I didnt have to buy a new computer. Thank you!

They were able to help me with a new computer that wasnt getting into the BIOS properly. Figured out it was an issue with an older GPU, were able to update the MOBO and get the GPU working. Stellar service, extremely good price for the service. Would definitely recommend.

I wanted to specifically commend one of Intrex Computers employees, Mr. Jonathan Newsome (I asked him for his full name), who is located at the Winston-Salem location. My wife and I visited the store last week and we had the opportunity to watch Mr. Newsome interact with various customers who came into the store. Based upon my observations of his interactions with various customers, he is extremely personable, knowledgeable, kind, professional, trustworthy and helpful. Based upon this experience with Mr. Newsome, when the time comes to replace my desktop, I will have him (as an employee of Intrex) build it. I have been a dedicated computer hobbyist (and one-time computer salesperson and specialist in a retail environment) since approximately 1974 (e.g., the Altair 8800 days) and it is refreshing these days where Big Box stores appear to be the norm to find someone like Mr. Newsome whose supererogatory dedication to his customers reflects so magnificently upon his employer. Bravo both to Mr. Newsome and to Intrex Computers.

Always get good help when i go here, they actaully had a RTX 3070 several weeks ago, also bought a Fractal case from here that turned out to be the best case ive ever owned.

This is For the store at the Palladium as its the only one Ive been to. The staff is courteous and. If I had questions they seemed to answer them knowledgeably. As for their stock they have a really good selection of odd and hard to get items. Their prices are very fare although a little more than online but you dont have to worry about a restocking fee and if you have any problems theyre quick to help.I recommend this store

I had a Dell XPS laptop with stripped M2x4 screws holding the battery. I am an IT professional and I could not get the screws loose, so Dell sent a technician who also could not do it. I took the laptop to local battery business, and they were not comfortable getting the screws out, and they recommended I try Intrex.I called, and Cecil was super-helpful and courteous on the phone, and gave me several things to try. By that time, I was HOURS into the problem, and Cecil said I could drop by and they would take a quick look at the laptop to see if they could resolve the problem.Less than twenty minutes later, the screws were removed, and I could finish replacing the battery.This is my first experience with Intrex, and I will definitely use them again, and recommend them to others needing excellent computer hardware support.

Prices arent too great. Brought an old computer in that Windows had corrupted on, and I needed the files on it so I couldnt wipe it and do a fresh install. I was quoted 315$ for a computer worth

Experts in computer knowledge, poor salesman, you can find most of the components they sell for much cheaper online or at other tech outlets, recently purchased an i5-9600k for 60 dollars cheaper than their price by ordering from newegg, when I inquired about the price I was told everyone would have those on backorder. Basically I would either HAVE to buy from them for 60 dollars more or wait an unforeseeable amount of time for the prices to drop again at other retailers, this was false info and I saved 60 bucks. Ask them any question about computers and theyre reliable in that aspect, but double check online before buying anything from them.

Service is 5-star. Brandon is fantastic - super knowledgeable, authentic and honest. He very patiently answered every one of our questions thoroughly and completely and helped us build a system to meet our needs. Fantastic alternative to big box computer places. Will never go anywhere else. These guys are dedicated, smart and honest.

I searched all the big box stores for a charger for my laptop. Intrex Computers had what I needed and gave me some tips to make my laptop more efficient. I will shop here first next time. Friendly, knowledgeable guys run the place. Very good experience.

Cecil was just awesome, taking the time to explain the possibilities (with a bit of humor), both the best and worse case scenarios. The staff at Intrex Computers has always given me good, easy-to-understand advice about computers and troubleshooting. They successfully troubleshot a laptop that had a particularly odd error (the tech remembered having read an article that mentioned this problem, which allowed us to save the data on the drive). They sell computers, parts, custom-built systems, and peripherals.

I had a problem with a CPU cooling fan on my computer and I called Intrex and spoke with Brandon at their Winston-Salem store. Brandon was very knowledgeable about what I needed and had a part available to correct my situation. I took my computer in and Brandon and Bill both were very friendly and helpful. Brandon fixed my computer on the spot and put in a whole new cooling system for my PC that was much better than the stock cooling that had been put in. I could not have asked for a better experience and I cant say enough good things about Brandon and how much he helped me. He was very knowledgeable, kind and shared a lot of information with me and taught me a lot while I watched him do my repair. I will definitely be using Intrex again in the future!

This is a REAL computer repair and parts outlet, not one of those up-selling xxxx $quad places. I frequent them for parts and accessories as I am a decent tech in my own right.They have on hand quantities of common and obscure cables and components of good quality.

Windows 10 automatically downloaded on our computer while we were away for a few days. I tried to remove and ran into problems that appeared to be serious. John at Intrex was able to restore computer while we waited. He was great and the price was very fair. So very appreciative.

These guys are great. I had a minor problem with my CPU. They took care of it for me on the spot and didnt make me feel stupid about it. They were friendly and professional, and even gave me some tips to help my PC run faster. Plus, they recommended cost-saving steps so that I could take care of problems myself. This isnt the first time they have been so helpful, either. I will always use Intrex in Winston-Salem.

Intrex is my go-to place for any computer-related issue. Buying parts, getting a repair, etc. They are knowledgeable and helpful. Would much rather patronize a well-run local place than a big box store. They have never failed to help me find a solution to an issue.

I usually enjoy going to Intrex. I built my first computer there, and with the assistance of the lead staff, I was able to get an affordable but very good quality PC from them. They made sure my motherboard POSTed and had latest BIOS/firmware before I left the store, and even helped me install the CPU and mount the cooling unit I got from them. Overall very helpful.Whatever you do though, DO NOT speak to or get advice from the older lady that works there. She had no knowledge of the products when I went to buy a power supply from them, and she almost misled me into an incorrect and expensive purchase. Im glad one of the long-running employees was there to make sure I got the best item for my build.

Very knowledgeable staff that will help you find exactly what you need. HOWEVER, they charge a re-stocking fee--which is fine; most places do. BUT, if you purchase a demo that is out on the floor and is the last one in stock, they will still charge this fee if you return it. This is BS. When we bought the laptop, the demo was the last one that they had in stock. When we purchased it, the box was already open and product out of box on shelf in store front when purchased We were charged fee for a re-stocking that doesnt exist. I returned the laptop, and Im sure that they put it back out on the floor and wasnt re-stocked. Since they were jerks about explaining this when I complained, I have to deduct a star. LOVE my new pc, but will shop elsewhere in the future.

Expensive, Unfriendly...If you need a part same day they might be an option but you will pay through the nose for it...better quality by buying online. Do not get computer repairs here they keep it for weeks and charge higher than retail for parts to fix your computer. Go elsewhere for repairs, there is a mom and pop shop in WS that is flat rate (labor) on repairs and they dont upsell parts like Intrex..highly suggest you avoid Intrex for repairs.

These are the best guys you can get! I dont know a lot about computers but I am no fool either! After a belittling hostile experience of buying an internal DVD/CD burner at The Computer Store, I was left without further assistance for a few questions I had to get the thing to work with my system! The Intrex guys, even though I didnt buy this there, walked me through the solution to my problem! It wasnt really rocket science as the other store made it out to be, but it was the key to making this function as it was purchased to do! Went in to have some data transferred off of a hard drive. After getting there they realized it required the entire back cover to be removed to reach the hard drive. The man behind the counter acted very put off by this and said I need to take it home remove the hard drive and bring it back. Since the computer technician was befuddled by 10 screws, I asked to use a screw driver and I would remove it myself. His response was I need a 100 dollars for that. Ive heard of crack houses with better customer service. Before you use them, just take a hammer, pick any finger and smash it. You will save time and money and accomplish the same amount in a fraction of the time.

Great place to go for Windows PC repair or parts. They dont repair Macs or buy or sell used equipment. But if you need a cable or adaptor or internal PC component,power supply,graphics card or router or anything they are THE place to go in Winston Salem. They also have stores in Gsbo HP and the triangle.

These guys are awesome! I couldnt get my charger into the port. The Geek Squad told me it would be 2 weeks to fix the port. I took it to Intrex where they actually looked into the port and fished out something that had gotten stuck in there. It took all of 10 minutes. They definitely saved the day!

Bought a HAF 912 case back in February in anticipation of building a computer, never got around to it and never even opened it. Called ahead on Saturday, asking if theyd buy it back and they said they would. Drove 20 minutes to the store and they cut me off mid sentence to tell me they dont do that kind of thing. Made me waste a bunch of gas for nothing and were rude about it too.

My laptop adapter died on me this afternoon. Not a huge problem - but considering how many types of adapters are out there, I opted to try Intrex instead of hitting one of the big box stores like Best Buy. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a young guy who quickly helped me pick out a universal adapter that would work with my setup. He even opened it on the spot, and showed me which connection I should use of the different adapters. In 10 minutes I was in, out, and informed on how to best use the product. I got it home, plugged it up, and it worked - just like he said it would. The extra mile - turns out they back their generic and Intrex products with a one year *store* warranty. If it proves to be faulty a couple months down the road, I can take it back to them instead of calling the manufacturer in who-knows-where China. Overall it was a solid experience that made me want to log in to Google and give them a matching positive review.
