Didn’t have a great experience with morning cashier Roseanne. Roseanne has an issue with people being in her line. It could be two people in line and she yells self checkout is open. If I could use self checkout I would. Then when it’s finally your turn in line she has an attitude towards you. This is not my first time experiencing this from her. Maybe she should try stocking, less customer interaction.

I just had to revise my review up... way up.Three years ago this place was a mess, but with new management theres been considerable improvement. The managers and checkout people are helpful, friendly, and professional. If youve been avoiding this store because of previous experiences, give it another chance.

Tonight (6/17) I was shopping and (of course) grabbed way too many things to carry. I was fumbling around when Jerome walked up and asked if I needed a cart or anything. He then ran all the way up to the front and grabbed me a basket and helped me load my things into it. He was incredibly friendly and personable and that bit of kindness really made my day. I even saw him helping another person later! He really went above and beyond and I will definitely be making this my regular grocery store!

This Safeway has a BIGGER selection of products, than others that I have visited.I am especially delighted that they carry the Pedialyte (freezie) pops!

A bit expensive for my taste. But a very good variety of healthy/ vegab and vegetarian foods.

This grocery store has a small meat department. The seafood selection is limited and it doesnt have a large selection of meats. It does have a large produce section.

Good well organized and clean store. Good variety of products. Good quality produce. Some great sales. Some products can be expensive though. Location offers Western Union, but call and check to make sure system is up and running.

This Safeway has the quick check out registers and they always have the one item that I like to get from their on sale!

Not my favorite place to shop. They have some things at outrageous prices like 2-3 times over Wal-Mart. I usually just run in and grab quick things. Some prices I can compare with Harris Teeter but at least Harris Teeter isnt a run down grocery store and has higher quality food that I dont see here. I do like their bakery though. I prefer driving a few extra miles to Food Lion if Im not in a rush.

The staff at this place are horrible. I was trying to send money via Western Union and the closing manager made up some excuse about not finding forms and he couldnt print more of them so he couldnt send my money.

First time Ive been to the Safeway. I went there for a $10 off $50 purchase coupon. All the interactions I had were fantastic, the butcher, stock guy, and the cashier fantastic. Chicken thighs were almost double price from Aldi. I will go there again with the coupon

I contacted this store around noon today and ordered a meat and cheese tray to be delivered to grieving friends of mine who lost a family member in an accident yesterday. The order was confirmed. I called 1/2 hour before the close of the window in which it was to be delivered and was told it was being processed. I called at the expiration of the delivery window and was told the order had been canceled because the item ordered was unavailable. Real nice. I will never shop Safeway again.

I work nights so with safeway openings at 5am. Its a godsend. I can do my shopping on my way home.

I got some bad meat at this location. Not a lot to choose from. The store hours are good.Never long lines

I only put one star on this because it wouldn’t let me put zero....I realize we are in hard economic times right now and there are limits on what you can purchase as far as necessity items but The manager on duty whom I was told her name was Miss Kia wouldn’t let me purchase a carton of eggs for my 83yr old neighbor who cannot come out of her home during these times. Instead of being apologetic and compassionate she barely looked me in the eye and has horrible customer service. I am normally a regular Safeway customer and I enjoy shopping here but she just completely turned me away from your store and I will be telling everyone I know as well not to come here. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!

Just attempted to place an order of potato wedges from the deli section this morning to pick up. On Mar 8, 2020 @1030ish A.M. Instead of taking what little they may had put out) the women working there this morning straight up told me “NO, can’t do...how far are you from Merchant Plaza. Try them they have enough people there working so they should be able to help you. I’m the only one working and it’ll be an hour before I can get to it.” (it, being referred to as the wedges). Guess I’ll take my chances there. Thanks for you service.

They are better than they used to be. Most of the employees are nice, even the management now. Because they are the oldest Safeway and the smallest in the immediate area, they dont have as much product for sale. But of what they do have, you will like it if you buy. The parking lot is not as well lit, so be careful during late hours.

I always shop here and am very pleased with the store. Today they didnt have an advertised special and made sure I got a raincheck. They really went out of their way to make things right.

It needs a major renovation. Its old and dated. There were many things on my shopping list that werent in stock.

There is never a time of day where a wait is inevitable. They chronically understaff the store, and yet the prices are higher than average. I dont mind paying more at Harris Teeter or Wegmans, because they have the service, cleanliness, quality and variety to make it worthwhile. Unfortunately, the same cant be said for Safeway.

This store is the perfect size for me. Not too big or too small. They always have exactly what Im looking for. Food is well stocked and fresh. Staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. They rearranged some of the products, but Im learning the new layout.

Its a nice little store, always clean and not a total mess. I think they just need to check dates and rotate product better went to buy minute maid watermelon juice and every single one they had (3) were expired. Usually this place is better about fresh product.

When you walk in there is a smell. An old store smell. They have been here a long time. The good thing about Safeway is you can find any ingredients here. And they have great ice cream sales. Prices much higher than close by lidl. But lidl doesnt carry everything

The staff at this Safeway location are willing to go the extra mile! When I thought they had charged me the wrong amount, but didnt have a receipt to go off of, they took the time to look through LOTS of receipts to get me my answer. Even though I was wrong, they were gracious, patient, and kind at every step--especially Karen, one of their managers. Thank you!

Attention to the owner— non of the staff are able to operate WIC card, specially manager Jay, they need to educate themselves first then say yes we accept WIC — waste people time, never come back

My favorite place

The only really good things about this store is that is it usually clean and well stocked. Its also never very busy so you can get in and out quickly.The cons are best presented in list form:- no cart return in parking lot leading to loose carts scattered about.- indifferent staff. They are not rude, but they also dont seem to care.- store recently went through a redesign and now it takes 3 trips up and down the store to find something. None of the redesign makes sense with conventional grocery store layouts.- prices. From my experience, this is the most expensive grocery store in Woodbridge. Yes, more than Wegmans. It seems like they mad a bet that no one is willing to drive 5 to 10 minutes to the next closest grocery store to get better prices.- its not uncommon to find their produce section swarming with fruit flies which speaks to the sometimes poor quality of the produce.

The rackets mill is my favorite Safeway it is small sometimes it doesn’t have lots of items like other big Safeway but it gives me the neighborhood feeling and jeers my needs.

I visited this store two days ago and I had a great experience with one of the new managers. I think his name is Darrell. The store has changed around and product is hard to find, if at all. I was looking for frozen shrimp and saw him stocking. Unfortunately what I wanted was not in the frozen section but he went to the back and found it for me. He was very helpful. While we were talking he was called to customer service to help. He apologized and said he would be back. I have talked to other managers in this store, there has been a lot, and they walk away and never come back. Same goes for the associates. I started shopping for other stuff and didnt think I would see him again. About 15 minutes later he finds me and asked me if I was finding everything I needed. I said yes. I was surprised. I started watching him work the stock to the floor for about 20 minutes and at the same time he was helping customers. Now I have been shopping this store over 15 years and I have seen a lot managers come and go. Many of them walk right by you and dont acknowledge you and are rude. I asked him where he worked before, he said Target. I was surprised. I joked about the difference and he just smiled. The whole time we were talking he acknowledged the customers walking by and excused himself. I told him managers dont last at this store and he smiled. It was a pleasure to talk to him and see someone take care of the customers the way he did. I hope someone reads this and lets him know that as a customer who has shopped this store for a long time, I appreciate that he cares about taking care of customers. Dont lose this guy. He cares.

If you are comparing this store with Wegmans it isnt going to do well.There produce department is minimal. But I have dealt with the Cory in the meat department and he was great. He got me a gorgeous pork shoulder to feed ten and he had it waiting for me when I arrived in town. This saved me a lot of stress that I would have had if I had to arrive and then drive around trying to find a large roast. Thanks Cory!

The Safeway near me is oddly ordered and I wouldnt recommend buying fish from there but the help is very friendly, the bakery is good, produce is clean and healthy; a little on the ripe side so be ready to use what you buy quickly, and the hot food cafe always smells fresh and ready to eat.

Clean store. They have fairly decent prices if you buy things on sale. Its a very convenient location and plenty of parking.

How anyone could give this store a five star rating is beyond me. Even a three star review is far more than they deserve. First and foremost, this store is old and dirty. Think of most Safeways youve been to - clean, modern, brightly lit. Now imagine the exact opposite of that and you have this store.In addition, the deli staff are pretty rude. In fact, every employee seems like they are given no incentive to care and thus dont.Next, theres only ever one cashier working here, so even though theres only a few shoppers theres always going to be a line.Next, the store has a pretty limited selection compared to other grocery stores.Want to use automated checkout? Maybe get some coffee? You picked the wrong store, bub.And finally, theres almost always some charity table set up outside with pushy volunteers. I dont mind once in awhile donating but I dont want to have to run through a gauntlet of the hard sell or be a jerk and ignore them when Im just trying to grab some milk or something quick to run home and make dinner after work.All of these reasons are why even though I live right next to this Safeway within walking distance, Id rather inch along Old Bridge Road in rush hour traffic to visit the Giant or Food Lion than go here.(Full disclosure, in all fairness the one check out clerk has always been nice to me. Also the produce appears fresh and not rotten. Also Ive never been stabbed in this store. This concludes anything positive I have to say about it.)

Is a bit pricey but is clean and love the fruit isle

I love this Safeway because it’s small convenient, and close to my house. The staff is wonderful. Except for this morning I called very politely asking if they carried a certain product. A woman named PHILLIS answered the phone, she was very rude to me, she was unaware of what her own store sold and had to ask someone else. Why would she be so mean to me? I have done nothing to her! I mean she was terribly rude, she was on speaker and even my husband and son were like OMG that was rude. We’re very upset

It was so clean and neat.... I joined the Safe way Club. LoL
