I enjoyed volunteering and they have good snacks and beverages and the workers were very nice and professional
My family shops here frequently for deals on summer clothes, school clothes, winter clothes and miscellaneous stuff that we might find useful. We also donate our stuff here frequently. They have become more restrictive regarding the items that they will accept, so either check online or call them in advance so you are not wasting anyones time. Or getting upset because you didnt know. Inside the store is always clean and we have found their team members helpful, courteous and professional. My best find was a Redwings zip-up hoodie for just a few dollars. And a Cabrera T-shirt that I wear to the Tigers games.
I will never deal with Goodwill again. I just went up there to drop off a very large load of donations. I was told everything had to be bagged or boxed which everything was except for two items which were rather large. They refused to take those two items. I went around front and spoke to the store manager and was told the same thing. Although in the back in their donation boxes there was a lot of things not bagged and not boxed. Why they chose me to make an example of I don’t know. And both people were very rude when I told them I was going to Salvation Army they basically told me to be a nice day and good luck they could care less that they lost my business or that they lost me as a customer and a person who donates rather nice items. I will never everGo to Goodwill again I will throw my stuff out before I take it to them
I called ahead to make sure they would accept a entertainment center. I was told they would. Sent my husband and nephew to deliver it. Because it is solid oak and heavy my husband took the doors and shelves off. When they arrived they were told where to unload, and when they did they were asked to put it back together which they had no problem doing. My husband was then spoken to very rudely and yelled at while putting it back together. Yelling about moving his truck and then yelling about where they were putting it back together at. That employee had no reason to yell or be rude. I called the manager, Ed and told him how his employees were behaving and his answer was “ok” This is not the first time someone accepting donations has been rude, when I dropped off items the week before the employee taking donations was rude to means then asked if I wanted to donate money. I will be contacting the Goodwill headquarters.
I shop at this location quite often and donate there too. The staff is helpful, prices pretty good and they seem to have a good selection of clothes most of the time. The only thing I dont like is the way some of the derelict customers treat the staff on a several occasions when I have been there shopping like yelling profanities at store managers when asked to where masks or dumping donations because they cant wait in line like the rest of us. Its A-holes like this that make me not even want to go out and shop anymore. Anymore, the shopping public sucks.
Nasty attitude of staff member working donation spot. Called ahead to make sure the donation spot was open. Came during the donation time. Was rejected and told not to put my items in the bin. (I even sorted them to match the bins. I have donated here a lot in the past.) Was threatened with a $500 fine. Will not go here again to shop or donate. Called another center to donate. Person on the phone was polite and friendly (unlike when you call Goodwill). People at the donation door were equally friendly.I do not recommend Goodwill.
This place is the exact reason people throw perfectly good things away instead of donating. Every time I have donated here, the workers are nasty about what I am donating, how it is packaged, etc. This time, I got told to go away because I was there at 11:57 and they don’t open until 12:00. Goodwill has a lot of nerve being picky about donations from people when they literally make 100% profit.I went to the Salvation Army on Eureka Rd. They took everything and were extremely nice about it.
Open to serve you. Always a great place to find jeans for work. Great way to help the environment and local people that need our help. Kind friendly staff
Love shopping there 🤗☺
Very clean, organized store with a lot of nice things at a great price. The staff is friendly and helpful. Nice store!
Nice place! Great deals good prices. A little of everything.
Organization of store is good. Unfortunately I had to leave because they dont let patrons use restroom
I love to decorate n like to use nice second-hand items. I spend a great amount on my wonderful finds. I get so many more items for such good pricing. After reading allll the negative reviews.. I wont even take the time to drive here..let alone shop here.!I do tons of online shopping because I cannot deal with rude service.I will continue to shop at Salvation Army n Other resale stores that know how to treat n appreciate their customers..second hand or new..it doesnt matter.I wrked in retail my entire life n a great smile n outstanding customer service keeps the customers happy n in return..they shop more often n spread the positive and or NEGATIVE of their shopping experience!Whether its Macys or 2ndhand.. The customer shud b treated as tho they wud treat the President of their Company!!Cuz u never know whos who or how much money one actually has to spend!GOODWILL!!SPEND TIME ON TRAINING!MANAGEMENT AS WELL ASALL WORKERS WHO WORK FOR YOU..WHETHER THEY VOLUNTEER OR GET PAY.Especially in this horrible time of Covid!!!!!We as customers need to have a place thats friendly n respectful..especially thru these hard times!Make it like a second home! Many ppl these days can ONLY afford to shop 2ndhand.Give the respect n appreciation we all deserve!!!In return..U will get dedicated customers..who will be happy to spend their $$$ there n continue to spread the good word!!!!Thanks for the reviews customers!!I will pass on the word x10!
Evening manager has the poorest attitude Ive ever heard. We could hear him all the way across the store complaining about the state of the store and its items, barking orders to the other employees. I thought he was a customer at first before he went to the back storage area of the store then came out to forcefully tell the employees what he wanted them to do. Turns out he just hates his job and/or life. Not a pleasant shopping atmosphere considering the state of the world at the moment. Will NOT be going back. It was the closest open thrift store at the time, but now Ill make the drive to Salvation Army where i know for a fact they put their money to good use rather than lining the CEOs pocket anyway.
They made me come more than 30 miles to buy something when I got there I found that they sold it, I did offer them the money
Great place to shop! Friendly and helpful staff members there to assist with any questions.
Very very clean I love shopping there
Most of what they have is in pretty good shape. Store is clean. Items are a bit pricey.
I’d recommend you take your donations elsewhere.Very rude and unappreciative staff. Arrived 10-minutes before their “donation hours” (which aren’t the same as their “store hours”, FYI)—they rudely told me to put items back in my car and didn’t want to accept them. One staff lady even mentioned I could be fined $500 for leaving items near the other bags of donated items others had graciously left for them LOLVery interesting and odd behavior for a place of business that 100% relies on donators & donations to operate & profit. I understand rules & hours of operation, but they had several employees outside already and expected me to bring my items back another day/time rather than accommodate me.From now on, I’ll be sure to avoid this location and give my donations elsewhere to where they’re more appreciated.Reading some of the other donator reviews, seems this behavior isn’t so much out of character for this store location...
Used to be a nice store. Now feels dirty and usually a mess. Used to get good deals, now priced to high. I use to stop in often and enjoy. I wont be shopping here anymore.
Much pricier than other Goodwill stores Ive been to. Didnt purchase a single item. The good things are that the store was really clean and organized.
Love the Goodwill store. It is so clean and is set up beautifully!..has a nice variety of items at Great prices!
Great place to get work clothes....
Dominique the manager was disrespectful. Told me the cdc guidelines does not pertain to them due to being privately owned. Also stated that my breathing didnt matter that I could suffocate and still needed to wear and mask. Ill be taking my buisness else where and I will never shop here again!
I have shopped at this store a few times .Mostly I have donated items. This last time was horrible. Im older not In the best health. I had the back seat of my truck full, I got out and started bringing things out he asked me whats in this and that for all the bags I tried going all around my truck putting bags into bins while there was a line behind me. I couldnt even lift the bags that high. He stood there the whole time watching me struggle and didnt do anything. i will not be going there ever agaun
Can always find unique Christmas decor, for a good price
Dirty items, OVERPRICED, unorganized, clothing items stained, and donation drop off is a hassle! Salvation army is better priced and somewhat better organized than this store.
Slow going to check out . employees are great and great clothes prices ARE GREAT!!
1st I was told to turn around and put a face mask on before entering the store. 2nd way over priced for the sale of donated items. For instance a donated blanket(fairly heavy but drab and ugly) $19.99 Im an expeditor and was going to use it as a packing blanket but for $20 Ill just go a new packing blanket. And 3rd extremely limited selection the store is 85% clothes and 80% of that is womens clothes.
Its alright been here many times only bought a couple things
Every visit is enjoyable and I find something of interest with each one.
Store was extremely clean and organized but some of the prices were high
Some cool stuff but the management isnt the best with customer service
Duly note that if you want to donate hours are mon-wed noon to 3. Thur-fri 3 to 7. Also they are only accepting items in bags or boxes and they are very picky about what they want. Just a heads up before you donate your possessions.
Store is clean and associates are friendly. Looking for a desk. Found one but it wasnt in very good condition but it was inexpensive.
Didn’t say orange tags were excluded so I shopped for nearly an hour and none of my clothes were included. Greedy company tbh. No donations to anyone and charge way too much for things they get for free.
Employees are thieves! Two times I have been there get charged for an item and it doesnt end up in my bag. Go back to ask where it is an they act like they dont know! Watch out for young Skinny Blonde girl usually hair in a pony, and dark haired male in 20s!
This place is Awesome!! There was a small mix up with a bean bag and the Manager went above a beyond to make things right. Truly wonderful people. Thanks
Things are a little more priced than a thrift store, but its because they are all less used and cleaner objects. Clothes for all sizes and ages and genders. They have toys, books, movies, some furniture, electronics, and silverware. Granted the electronics section and furniture areas are small but it is donated items so its understandable. Location is easy to get to and to donate, you just walk up to the donate area and give them what your donating, and if you want a receipt for tax purposes they will write you one.
Some good stuff, a little disorganized, and the line is always long every time Ive been in. Some of the staff is rude and treat you like a 2nd class citizen for being in the store. But whatever! They WORK there so stop acting like youre any better than the shoppers.
Will find a few nice things here and there but usually just Walmart or target brand for a few dollars less than they originally charge. Always a long line and rude cashiers.
Been to this location to drop off or donate several really nice pieces of furniture valued at several thousand dollars and they wouldnt accept it because the legs werent screwed on. Really. I had the screws but the boy couldnt screw on 8 nuts. Sounds like they really dont want to stay around long if theyre turning away great valuable merchandise. 1st time I went to this location a few weeks ago with another truck load. Left because I was waiting more than 30 minutes for them to have people sort there 5 bags of stuff. Thanks but Ill take my stuff elsewhere where its appreciated
Prices to high an I use to love shopping there getting kids stuff
This is one of the nicest and cleanest goodwill stores I have ever been too. Its smaller then other ones but customer service has always been good. This is our go to place to donate. Today we were able to score a very clean and in great shape recliner for 15 bucks as well as some framed art work.
This place is a joke please don’t apply for a job here they will make every excuse to fire you. Horrible management . The place went down hill after Cindy left
Rude cashier with a bad attitude. Usually good service at this store. I think the girl just didnt care for our type of people. Maybe she needs additional training on customer service.
Tried to donate an entire truck load of clothes and household goods at the donation drop-off. A man came out and told me I could not because they didnt open for 30 more minutes. There were already bags out by the door. He also told me there was no drop-off. I cannot believe somebody would turn away donations. I will never spend or donate to this organization again. Salvation army will be where I donate from now on.
Love this store. The rewards program is a bonus. I hope the prices stay reasonable. I have stopped shopping at other thrift stores because of high prices.
I love your beautiful store. Its always clean and there is always beautiful stuff to choose from. And always something different to find. The employees are so helpful and friendly ! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
If you are looking for mens clothing its great. They have womens shorts, capris and dress slacks but no jeans.
Not bad good deals on used items
The building is off to the side after Aldi & White Castle. Its spacious, love the items they get donated in, its clean & the employees are professional & nice.
Awesome finds all the time !
They have a good selection most of the time but you have to keep coming on different days to see whats new. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Some of the prices at this store are ridiculously expensive for resale items. When it first opened it was more organized. Shopped here recently and it was like attending an overpriced garage sale. $149 for a used recliner. The bonus here is the service. A friendly and helpful cashier.
Well mannered staff pleasant shopping experience helpful and courteous can you call the managers at Southgate and teach them
Newer Goodwill. Its large and clean. Merchandise is well organized.
Great deals
The prices have gone up and some of the employees are too rude for my liking. If someone cant handle stressful situations without losing their cool then I dont think working in retail is the best thing to do.There is a nice selection of vinyls, but one of the previous reviewers on here is right, its a messy setup you all have going on. You shouldnt stack so many old records on top of each other. Even if they are scratched when you receive them stacking will only make them worse off. No one wants a warped record. Its a pet peeve I have for most thrift stores, though. If you are striving to have your store above the others Id suggest making sure your staff is full of friendly people and setting your items up neater. The far left side of the store could be tidier. Also, some new shelves that allow you to fit ALL the records in a leaning fashion rather than stacking would help make your store look more put together as well.
Its a little expensive, but its so much cleaner and better-smelling than similar secondhand stores. The music isnt blaring Christian music, which is a plus for me. All the clothes Ive found here are in great condition to this day.
Super clean store. A little tucked away so you kind of have to know its there in order to be able to find it. I stumbled upon it stopping at the Meijer.
They have lots of new items here as well as collectables and (maybe) antiques. I saw computer monitors for $10.
I went here on Sunday and all purple tags were .99cents. I dont really shop here often so I wanted to make sure one of the formal dresses my daughter found was still .99cents since it had a purple tag. My 14yr old went and stood in line so she could ask the cashier. The cashier was very rude and unclear in her answer more than once. We found someone else to help and they were much more pleasant. We did end up getting a beautiful formal dress for .99cents. The cashier that was there was super slow on top of being rude.
Good sales and prices, nice and helpful staff.
One of my favorites Wednesdays 20% off for seniors. I bought a desk and chair beautiful.
Love this store. This store is always clean. The staff is friendly and helpful always :)
First time to this location. I will be back ! Helpful staff, clean & organized displays. Easy to navigate.
Clean and looks like got reorganized! Good job.
The store is clean. It has a nice layout and selection. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Lots of pokemon stuff
Just attempted to do a drop off of donations. Not the first time coming here and doing so, yet was just turned away by the rudest woman. I had no idea they close this early, and all that had to be said was the obvious, I would have gladly came back tomorrow. Due to this ladys attitude and the way she spoke to me, I will stick with Salvation Army from now on.
Second time I have been to this store, second time I had a rude and grouchy cashier. I wanted to ask a question about a piece of furniture but, I didnt want to bother Ms. Grouch with a question. Store does not make you feel welcomed at all.
First time in this store very clean and organized....prices are amazing and Laura was very friendly and helpful....will definitely be back...
Great deals clean store and the manager Laura is very helpful respectful and kind .
Place was clean and organized. Prices were reasonable, unlike other similar stores.
I just had the worst experience at this store. The website states open until 6pm. What it doesnt disclose is that DONATIONS stop at 5PM, one hour before store closes. Imagine my disappointment when I was turned away. I pleaded with the 3 attendants that I was cleaning out my elderly father in law apartment in Southgate and I live in Fenton, making it impossible for me to come back tomorrow.... CAN YOU PLEASE GO ON YOUR WEBSITE AND STATE YOUR DONATION HOURS.
Yes i fine every thing i need
Very good clean merchandise. Friendly helpful staff.
Very Clean store, cheap prices, good clothes selection, everything organized by sizes.
They suck
Always find something there. Prefer this place over the other good wills.
Quick and helpful staff to help unload the truck. Just remember that good will is a FOR PROFIT company.
This was the WORST experience of a resale store EVEROMG you can buy NEW cheaper! Stuff was everywhere, not organized no wonder there was no one shopping there
Very nice place,Lots of new stuff and very clean
My daughter & I have always had a wonderful experience at this store. Heading there today for some treasure hunting!
Good 2nd hand store not happy on Sunday took all blue tags to another store.
The store was dirty, over priced and alot of damaged items. Theyre reselling nothing but junk.
Pretty cheap as opposed to salvation army, pretty wide selection of stuff and you never know what theyre gonna have
Love shopping here, great finds and friendly ppl.😀💯💜
Its alright. But over priced and dont buy the DVDs they suck even if you get decent looking one.
Nice people. Very nice place
The wide variety of items in the store are organized, The staff is very helpful, kind and friendly.
Very organized nice neat and clean I just love Goodwills anyway LOL
Great prices, new items available and I always find good decor items
Cool place to find items to repurpose. Vintage clothes, items for hobbies...etc
Great finds sometimes
Always clean. Decent prices for most.
I like this location for books
I shop and donate here all the time. Great place!
