I had a child’s rocker restored. Brian returned my initial call quickly, quoted a very fair price and completed the project by the date I had requested. The chair looks beautiful! He did an excellent job.
Brian did an excellent job. He restored a spindle on a very old bed that had been broken several times on different occasions. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Great workmanship with lots of finishing touches.
Brian and his team went over and beyond bringing my grandmothers childhood bedroom set back to life. For years it had been moved around, stored in basements and thrown in attics. When I brought it to him it was no problem for him to fix it up back to his original glory! The communication was great, if I called or left a voicemail I would always get a return phone call within 24 hrs if not the same day! He went over pricing beforehand so there were no surprises. I even got to come and see the furniture in progress of being stripped and refinished. He really made me feel like I had a part in it. I am so excited to use it for my first born and know it will continue to be passed down for many generations to come. I cannot recommend this company more, they are fantastic!
I own a 173 year old house in Eufaula Alabama along with a lot of old furniture and have for years looked for someone I could trust to restore a cane back and bottom chair and a Louis XVI upholstered chair. Bryan has just returned my chairs to me and Im so pleased with their work and their service, that I gave him a table to restore for me. I expect to enjoy his labors for many years.
Brian (and company) of Southern Restorations have successfully restored three one-of-a-kind chairs for us. I will never look farther than Southern Restorations for anything concerning furniture repair & refinishing. They are meticulous, very considerate and wonderful to work with!
My wife has an old Spinet desk that her Dad used when he was young. It had water damage and the legs were unusable. For the past 10 years we had moved it with us through four states, keeping it dry and saying we need to get the desk fixed. Southern Restoration made it look new again. We could not be more pleased with how it looks. Kim sent a picture of the desk to her Dad and he said it looked better than when he used it over 60 years ago. Thank you very much for making us very happy!
If you are looking for true craftsman and professionals when it comes to refinishing furniture or hand staining any kind of specialty wood you have in your home these guys should be your first and last stop!Very hard working, honest and fair. This company is full of good people doing very incredibly nuanced work and the results speak for themselves. We have refinished and/or repurposed 4 legacy/heirloom pieces with them as well as had them strip and re-stain multiple doors. I would not go anywhere else.Bravo Brian and team!HK

I own a lovely French armoire which we purchased in the early 90’s while living in Europe . It’s a pretty massive piece measuring almost 9’ tall. Since it’s purchase we’ve moved six times all over Asia and the US each time the piece was a headache for movers and suffered damage. The last move besides the movers unable to get it in the condo it was almost just a pile of sticks. I’ve warned every mover of its fragility as well as it could come apart in pieces similar to a giant puzzle. That’s how the French gentlemen brought it to me in the first place in pieces in the back of a station wagon. At my wit’s end and really needing that piece for storage of fine china I called Southern Restorations . In the past they rebuilt an Indonesian rain barrel for me and their reputation is outstanding. In fact 5 years ago Alan Noel had look at the big armoire but to restore it would have required moving it to the shop. Just surviving a move I felt it was just not the time plus it was packed full of china - we just lived with it wounded . This time I had no alternative but to reach out for help in desperation- “ Please Help Me “. The piece holds previous memories I could just get rid of it.The piece was in piles stacked in the parking garage when it was picked up by Southern Restorations the gentlemen struggled with its weight but finally got it loaded. I wasn’t too concerned about the length of time just repair, restore, and take it apart so it can be placed in the residence. Less than a week later I received a call from David who was in charge of the restoration. He basically told me my tattered armoire was quite an exquisite antique and he was very eager to be able to begin the process. On September 20 with much anticipated excitement the armoire was delivered, in pieces, reconstructed in my dining room, all with new wooden pegs because not one nail was used by the cabinet maker back in the 1700s . The restoration was beyond all expectations being lovingly brought back to its former glory just as it was when a French craftsman envisioned it long ago somewhere in the region of Burgundy . Now the beautiful wood grains have been brought out and the patina of age shines through giving the piece with all its history a glimpse at something tangible for my descendants to enjoy.I cannot thank David enough for bringing this piece back to life . He is a true craftsman, artist, all the adjectives in a thesaurus describing a man who truly appreciates working with and restoring history . The whole crew are just so dedicated to preserving for people like me who love and appreciate furniture which tells a story and holds memories which fills hearts reminiscing every time it’s gazed upon.Thank you
