I have been to this place to have my wifes remote start put in her car. They did great.I came back a year later to get a backup camera and have an android auto stereo put in. All works but now I get terrible radio reception. It goes in and out all over town. Every other car I have ever rode in, including my truck prior to this gets radio reception just fine. I took it back multiple times to have them fix it. They just jeep telling me that is how stereos work now because of low power radio stations. They tell me it is fine. I guess I just have to live with it. I am not pleased with the way it works.

Let me just say this!! As far as I know they sell and install stereos they don’t manufacture them. So as far as installation goes I have had several full systems installed by Dave and Matt, I will continue to have work done there because it’s installed correctly.. now if something failed and it has I don’t blame Performance!!!! If you have any sense you’ll understand that warranty’s only last a short time therefore I’ve abused my stereo equipment and Dave has always worked with me on replacing equipment!!! Can’t believe people are so easy to bash a business for the lack of Understanding Electronics fail!!!

Customer service was top tier with knowledgeable staff on site. I Was given an excellent deal on install and service aswel as learned a few things when it comes to car audio installation. I highly recommend ther service to anyone looking to upgrade ther stock audio setup.

Came in, picked the man behind the counters brain, bugged the hell out of him with excessive amount questions and concerns. But he was cool and pointed me in the right direction. I left with a flagship Kenwood Excelon DNX995S head-unit and a Kenwood Excelon shallow 10 subwoofer. Good people, reasonable prices, extremely helpful and knowlegdable.

Customer service is horrible!! I came in to this place and ask if they can see why my radio screen wasnt turning on and to see if it was the screen or the cables so that way I can buy a new one off them and the guy said we dont do partial work I have no idea what that ment and I tried to tell him if he wanted to come and look at what Im trying to say and he denied all rude and said we only install, all I wanted to do was get my music playing asap I heard good things about this shop but when I went it was the complete opposite, never again will I pop up here

I went in to see if they would check my stereo my back up camera isn’t working, they said they don’t work on equipment already installed, they just sell you stereos and install them.

I do not recommend Performance Auto Sound. Maybe a great install, but horrible customer service. I have called twice to possibly give this place business, and both times the customer service was horrific. I am done calling them, and will spend my money at a place that does both; quality work and customer service. Look at my other Google reviews I am not a negative hard core complainer, but after a conversation where I spoken to as an inconvenience, I felt compelled to share my experience. Btw, I am now scheduled to have the product installed that I was inquiring about with a different local company.

Joe and Dave did a fantastic job helping me pick out what fit my Titan perfectly. I had Performance install all of it as well and it turned out perfect. I would highly recommend them for any of your vehicle audio needs.

Professional, courteous, and honest. My shuttle bus needed new speakers... or so I thought. After dropping off the bus for a new speaker install, I received a call that the speakers were not actually blown but learned that they were tired. While the budget is VERY tight during COVID and I am unable to run Little Hopper, I so appreciated the honesty and Dave made me a deal I couldnt pass up. I had went to a different audio place in Yakima and I made that mistake. Dave was an absolute gentleman about fixing my problem with my wife’s stereo. There is no better place than performance. As the saying goes “you get what you pay for” you want it done right go to performance!

This place was recommended to me and I came in and the employee I talked to was very respectful and polite but all I asked for was a remote start and to program my convertible to put the top down with a button on the key fob and I told him my budget was 250 to 300 maybe 350 and he continued to encourage me to buy the top of the line equipment that literally cost 750 to a grand I feel like this place is way to expensive they don’t take into consideration of the customer and there budget for what they have to work the guy quoted me 400 dollars for basic cheap remote start lol it’s all good because I went down the street to stereo one and window tinting and they got me the best remote start with a security system screen and everything for 320 dollars and to program my convertible only 30 bucks when the other guy had quoted me 250 just for that. stereo one and window tinting also tuned my stereo for free and I didn’t even buy from them so if you don’t want to drop twice what you would spend anywhere else don’t go here

This is an excellent store--they are local, professional technicians that do top notch work at a great price. I have a 20 year old vehicle that may have been overlooked had i gone to other locations but i received the same attention as if i had a new car. Dave and his guys are honest and have handled a variety of different installations for me on very different vehicles, always with a good price and more importantly, standing behind their work. If you want one stop done right, this is the place.

This is the best place in Yakima where you can get all of your audio needs. I have been to other audio stores for my car but this was the best by far and they make sure things are done right. Dave is a great salesperson and will work with you to find something within your budget. The installer Matt is such an innovative person and can do just about anything you could imagine in your car. They are a dynamic duo and no other store compares to Perfomance Auto Sound.

As a single female they treated me with respect and got me exactly what I asked for without trying to sell their most expensive products on me. Matt and Dave were great to deal with and got me right in and the customer service was just impeccable. I would recommend them to anyone that is looking for quality work and great products.

Got a good sub for my car sounds great

Me and my husband Ryan went into this place the other day and I was in disbelief. This used to be a great place to get our remote starts and car audio equipment. As of now, I will never step foot into this place again. The big guy was helping me and my husband and he smelled like weed really bad and was really nasty to us. The other guy looked like he was day dreaming and they weren’t help AT ALL. You need to drug test them because I know they were under the influence while working. That’s really embarrassing. If I were the owner, I would NOT STAND FOR THAT. This is ridiculous. I will now tell EVERYONE I know about this. Imagine if I tell three people about what happened, and those three people tell three more people each, by the end of a week, almost ALL of Yakima will know. Get a hold on your employees. For Christ sakes.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS. If I could give less then 1 star, I would. The atmosphere of this place used to be stellar. But more recently, people try to con you. They literally wouldn’t sell me anything. I wanted what they call a “cheaper” piece of equipment. But Mr Dave told me he wouldn’t sell it to me because he wouldn’t make any money if he didn’t sell the more expensive one to me. Are you freaking kidding me?! I would like a response to this as to why this happened. I am so shocked. AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

They were great! Helped me a lot! I have a 93 Jeep Wrangler and trying to set it up as hidden and theft proof as possible and they aided in that adventure!!! Two 12s, Box, amp, dash speakers and tweets is difficult to say the least, but they did an amazing job. As well as helped me with a good amp that powered everything!

The dealer we purchased our new van from had auto locks installed at Performance Auto Sound for us because it hadnt originally come with them. Later one of the locks malfunctioned and when we took it to the dealer for some other warranty work their mechanics really made a mess of the wiring and sent us home telling us wed have to take it to Performance Auto Sound ourselves. When we did Performance had to do a lot of extra work by several hours to put the locking system wiring back together but they were great and didnt charge us for fixing the original problem or for fixing the mess that was made by the dealer. These guys are pretty great and stand behind what they install. I wont hesitate to tell my friends to use them and come back as a customer myself for other things.

They are absolutely great from start to finish. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs anything done to their vehicle! Definitely will go back in the future!

Just a update had more equipment installed and was blown away, the sound was incredible, my new amps where installed so clean they look factory, Im never disappointed in there professional work. Best audio performance store by far in Yakima.Anyone who leaves a bad review is an idiot. Performance audio sound is the best stereo shop in Yakima.i wont go anywhere else. The installations are the cleanest Ive ever seen. They wont sell you junk like other stereo shops. Dave and Matt are the nicest guys Ive ever had the pleasure of doing business with.

Had issues with my stereo and this place was recommended. I went there and dealt with Matthew for help. He made me feel like a was an inconvenience, not helpful at all and rude. I went to Bemis and they happily fixed my problem. Dont waste your time at Performance Auto unless you want to be treated unprofessionally.

Nice professional people. They installed an aftermarket stereo that required modifications. It looks like it was oem. They seem to be knowledgeable of the products that they sell.

These guys were awesome. They listened to what I said, presented the right product and offered a great price. They actually cared about doing business. They got me in right away and installed my sound system quickly. My system sounds great and all the work was very clean. Overall I am very pleased with my experience. The pricing is excellent; Their quote was half the price of a place in Ellensburg and way cheaper than places in Seattle. I did not look around too much but as far as selection goes they have an large variety of Subwoofers and an acceptable variety of stereos.

I have never been treated so poorly until I went to performance auto sound in Yakima. A few of my friends have had nice things in their cars from there so that’s why I went there, but I regret ever going there. I think the owner named Dave is very rude to me and other customers in the store. Seems like all’s he cares about is making the most money he can and ripping people off in the process so he must get commission from sales. Very unprofessional and extremely rude. Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Ever.
