Do Not purchase a vehicle from here!!!!!! I had a chevy mailibu(which always had mechanical problems) that I was consistent with payments until I lost my job during the pandemic. They shut off my vehicle until I could pay for it which was fine. Fast forward to 2021 I have paid off the vehicle but the entire car broke down. They refuse to give me the title because their GPS is still in the vehicle that I dont have access to. Im sure if I wasnt making payments they would have no problem coming to repo the car. Always ask for CARFAX. The customer service is a joke

This is a horrible place to go!! With everything that happen in 2020 people losing jobs do to the pandemic. There was no care from this place. It was just pay or get your car repossessed. When something is wrong with your vehicle they said they fix the problem but do not do anything. I cant wait until my vehicle is paid off. I will never recommend anyone to this place.

The guy i talk to on the phone gave me hope that I would get a vehicle through them for my family and its urgent for me to have a car my son is autistic then I called back to talk to the salesperson to discuss the vehicle but he told me he couldnt help me on the vehicle because i get ssd and i explained i have other income from my fiancé who lives with me but because he dont have a lisence he said still no now i mind you not to put my business out there but my household makes 3500 a month yes bills go out we all know how that is but to be turn down like that it emotionally tore me apart am not the type of person that has the greatest of credit but i didnt want my family walking so as a company they should be ashamed of there self to be that money hungry for some cars that we all know where they get them. Of couse am taking my business elsewhere but knowing what i just went through i just want you to know a person who sales car is supposed to help you not turn you down its not like if i didnt make that payment i didnt know they would come knocking or whatever i knew that its called as a mother i was obligated to have it paid. Not only did I get a car that was supposed to be getting “fixed” before my fiancée and I got it but it literally broke down on us a week after getting because they are not honest people! When I called the owner about the problem he was very rude and hung up on me saying, “well then you should have bought a new car.” For some odd reason we kept the car. Now recently with the pandemic going on we have been talking with the lady that always answers the phone (not sure her name) she is very rude and hung up on me after I was trying to understand why I needed to pay something that was HER fault. We do plan on suing this company for their unprofessionalism & just lack of knowledge of customer care. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM IF YOU WANT A CAR THAT ACTUALLY DRIVES! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM IF YOU WANT TO FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOUR PURCHASE.

This is a buy here pay here that really cares about selling quality top notch used cars. They have cheap weekly payments and offer a loaner car if yours needs work done. They have friendly knowledgeable staff as well and have a great selection of cars, trucks and SUVs.

Not long ago, my car was totaled and I was in dire need of a new one. When I went to McNamera Auto sales, they were all too willing to help. I needed a car and they told me if I put 500 dollars down as a deposit, they would hold it for me until I had the rest of the money. As it turns out, my boyfriend returned from his trip to the VA medical center in Houston Texas, where he was helping his uncle who was fighting cancer, and decided that I needed a little something better. I was going to settle for a Pontiac Vibe, but he believed that, with winter upon us, that I needed something safer with all wheel drive to ensure that Iszabella, my 2 year old daughter, would be safe. Since he used to work at a car dealership, he ensured me that the rules are pretty clear on non-refundable deposits, and that because I no longer need the Vibe they would be inclined by law to give me the money back. He explained that to them when he went in there for me, and when I went in myself they repeated their answer to me. He asked them for something in writing stating that they were unwilling to return my deposit amount onto my credit card as I never took delivery. They told me that they needed my money now to inspect the car I didnt buy and prepare it for delivery for whoever does. Call me crazy, but that seems a little unreasonable. I also asked why they wouldnt give him or I something in writing and the woman who said she was in charge told him it was because he mentioned the Attorney General as his next step in recouping the money and she didnt want me to show him that. Call me crazy, but it sounds like she may know the law is on my side.

Never buy anything from McNamaras! I had vehicle I was making payments on and had made different arrangements with McNamaras to pay monthly instead of weekly. This was agreed on but 6 months before I would have owned the vehicle they added a late fee for 3 weeks in every month (4.5 years)! I refused to pay the additional amount so my vehicle was repossessed. People I know now including previous McNamara staff said McNamaras is horrible to work with and for! NEVER BUY THERE!!

Cant believe this place is still in business. This business is a total scam! This is what happened to us. We bought a 2003 town and country through their buy here pay here program. After two years or so I got a new job that payed bi-weekly so our budget changed a little and we started making four payments once a month instead of weekly payments. This continued for over a year and we didnt miss a month. Somewhere along the line Vikki took over and every time we would call in to make our payment she would be pretty unprofessional telling us we were on the repossession list and we couldnt miss another payment. Well, two days before payday with about three months left on the loan. We woke up to an empty driveway. I could not believe that they repossessed our car out of the blue which was consistently paid for every four weeks. I figured that they made more than twice the value of the car but wanted it back to auction or maybe even resell to another sucker with bad credit. NEVER GO HERE FOR ANYTHING!!! Youve been warned.

Guys, before you buy a vehicle, make sure you ask for the CARFAX. Theyre selling salvaged titled vehicles. This means when you are done with your payments. If you would like to sell your vehicle. You wont be able too. Unless you whole sale it. This is a very shady place to buy a vehicle from. You may be desperate to buy a vehicle. However, your safety comes first when buying a new/used vehicle. Always REASERACH!!!

Dont get me wrong nice people and work with you but I had purchased a truck in beginning 2019 and promised me a fresh pa state inspection which they did! It was inspected on 1-15-19 and I take notice that on 7-26-19 my frame on the truck is broke in 2 places. And not fresh breaks.. now I try to contact them and cant get and calls returned or here from anyone from the company.

Paid my car off in March. Still dont have the title. I also finally took it to a different mechanic and was told that my car should never have been sold let alone it being on the road! Multiple holes in the frame that were half-ass repaired recently (by them). Simple parts I was told were replaced were clearly still original! I was charged far to much and got nothing but lies.The reason for two stars is because I was happy with the payments and Sara was pleasant to talk to.Do NOT buy from them or if you do have a trusted mechanic check the car out first!!

I had an excellent experience. They were knowledgeable and courteous sales staff. The vehicle was in excellent condition and very well maintained despite its age. I would highly recommend buying any vehicle on this lot. The payments were also well within reason.

Bought a beautiful 2005 Honda Odyssey 2 weeks ago. Per their word, 10 days later we picked up our vehicle. Ive driven it for only a few days, but so far I am happy. The buying process was transparent and made as easy as possible. No complaints so far!**Edit** 6-15-19 nothing but issues with the Odyssey. 2 weeks after we got it, the power steering started sounding awful, then it started making a noise. I took it to my garage to be told it had no oil because of a massive oil leak. There was also electrical tape around the air intake. Took it into them. They fixed the oil leak and the air intake for free (I think). Power steering wasnt fixed, check engine light still on.Took it in again. They fixed the power steering(not free, I think. No bill yet.), now its vibrating, shifting weird, almost overheating while idling at random times and the check engine light is on for all 6 cylinders misfiring.Paying 400-500 a month for this mess. Ill never go here again, cannot wait until our two years is done. Feb. 2021! Sooner if we can manage it. As of editing, Ive had it for 4 months.It does run, but its going to take work to get it completely safe and running correctly and smoothly.**Edit July 10th. Van completely stopped working and they wont fix it (even though it NEVER worked correctly due to the oil leak from the very beginning) and specifically, they wont help because of this Google review that went from 5 stars to one because of the treatment of my husband and I throughout this mess. Katie specifically told me that John/Jon saw this review and doesnt appreciate it and wont fix it at all so I have to return it. We cant afford thousands in repairs.Do not recommend, ever

They will work with u if u get jammed up. But keep in mind like any used cars u will have a issue here or there. But overall no major issues. They treat me well.( 3 years later Engine, transmission still good some other minor issues but major components still solid bought car with 99,000 up to 168,000.) Still stand by this post from 3 years ago.

My husband and I stopped in and met with Brad, who was fantastic. Brad was very helpful and easy to talk with. We test drove a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta and instantly loved the vehicle. At that point in time I put down a $1,000 down payment, signed all of the paperwork and was told that they needed one week to inspect the vehicle and get it ready for us! Within a 24 time frame we set up an insurance policy on the car, and sent Brad all of the paperwork needed to complete the deal. I was told we could pick up the car at the York location on Monday anytime before 5pm. When I showed up on Monday at 2:30pm, they informed me that the car was not even looked at by the techs yet and that it would not be ready until at least Wednesday. I showed a little bit of frustration (as anyone would) but I did not raise my voice or use any kind of profanity and I was not disrespectful to any employee I spoke with. I simply stated that I was disappointed that no one contacted me. When the owner approached me, he was rude from the start. He never introduced himself and never made any attempt to apologize for the miscommunication that occurred. He was very quick to say Well Ill just give you your money back if you arent happy. When I explained to him that I was not interested in my money back, he stated that he did not want to do business with me and stated that he is just doing a refund. He was rude, dry and disrespectful. It is very unfortunate because the salesman that we first met with was great to us and was very helpful. After looking through some other reviews, it seems that I am not the only one who has had a bad experience. John McNamara should not be operating a business, and I am honestly happy that I did not give him any of my hard earned money.

I have a car that I am currently making payments on and I have called numerous times about it clicking into engine reduced power and how every time I go around a curve it says low traction and they supposedly fix the problem but if theyre sent and I pay over my weekly payment each week and every time I turn around Im supposedly 2 weeks behind which Im not because I keep track of it and they said I had brand new rotors and brakes when I bought the car but I have replaced both of them twice and a car originally came with four rotten tires and I just called to make a car payment and the girl hung up on me.

Do not buy from here. Stay away. Horrible horrible service and high priced. Do your research. Would give this place a negative if I could.

I put my down payment down which was 900 cash, I purchased a vehicle from them on May 11, 2018 I did not get to drive the vehicle until June 6, 2018 I was given a loaner vehicle and was told that all the things I had questionable about the vehicle was going to be looked at and fixed in about two week, (wheel alignment, detail interior, oil change and inspection done). When I was called a week later to pick up the vehicle I drove off the lot and nothing was done and engine light came right on. I then took the car to auto zone just to see what the codes read and the said that the reader would not even power on, meaning someone unhooked the diagnostic tester part to the vehicle (whatever it’s called) I took the car back, nd since they was about to close they to me to either take the loaner back or keep the car with the engine light on. I took the beat up loaner back. McNamaras auto sales call me back 2 days later the wheel alignment was done but the check engine light was still on, I refuse to drive a vehicle I’m supposed to be buy used but new to me under this condition. And they wouldn’t allow me to pick out a different car because of the contract and a lot of paperwork was need to be done. So I patiently let them try to fix the car, One week later they called me to pick up the new car again, things finally appeared to be fixed, I had the new car three days till they shut the starter off on the new car. I continued my day off to work I call them on my lunch break to tell them the issue. The woman at the desk, told me my payment was past due ( which I only drove the car for three days) and I need to make a two week payment or the vehicle will be repossessed. I thought wow!!!!! I came home from work to find an embarrassing note taped to my front door and inside the car stating that the vehicle is in process of being repossessed. I was completely embarrassed!!!! I immediately called McNamara‘s auto sale and told them that I will leave the keys in their vehicle and they can come and get their vehicle I will not do business with them ever again in my life no matter how cheap the cars or if I have bad credit anything I’m OK I learn from my mistake that’s a bad place to invest your money. BAD FOR BUSINESS! I think so.

My brother purchased a car from here a few months ago and had we taken better precaution when buying his first car, we would have NEVER step foot in this establishment. They take pride in scamming those who know very little about car, inspections and the entire buying process. As they are in cahoots with Meineke next store, They will sell you a car that is in very poor condition and have Meineke make sure these vehicles pass through inspection (although it shouldnt) in order to make a sale.If you are not familiar with cars and you go to this place, PLEASE take a mechanic with you to look at it. My brother started having some issues with his car so we took it in to our mechanic and He said that his car is a death threat and should not be driven at all, even in a parking lot. He took one look at the inside of the car and said that he does not know how this car passed inspection. When he found out where my brother purchased his car, he was very upset because he knows of this place and how they scam people. If you purchased a car from them and have experienced issues with your vehicle, please contact the State department. They will do a thorough inspection of the car and if it does not pass, they will have to remove your stickers then they will write this place up and issue them citations. Unfortunately, we have to take this as a loss but If enough people who are having issues with their vehicle after purchasing it from them, please report it. This place needs to be shut down and they should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of people and putting their lives in danger all for a sale. I am going to get the word out in anyway I can bout this place. STAY AWAY!!!!!

DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!!!! I bought a car in March, 2015 and it was in their service shop 5 times between March and June. Each time they had my car for a week or longer. I was paying $115 a week for a freaking loaner car. Each loaner car I had either had flat tires (I actually had to put two used tires on one of the loaner cars), bad breaks, and/or a check engine light on. I didnt feel safe in ANY of their vehicles. When I finally told them I was ready to take the hit and walk away, they offered to swap my vehicle for another. So, I did. Fortunately, I havent had any mechanical issues with the new vehicle (yet!), but every week I get a call from their lady in billing saying I didnt pay this or I didnt pay that on time because the general manager forgot to inform me that I had to pay tax, tags, and titles on BOTH vehicles and gave me a different due date than what was on paper. The general manager is a slimy son of a b****! Most of the ladies in the office are rude and smug and Ive had enough! Im tired of being ripped off every freaking week or getting calls even when I make my payments on time. Im tired of having to go down to their office all the time to straighten things out. Dealing with this company has been a NIGHTMARE FROM HELL!!!!!The only good thing I have to say is about their mechanic, Gary. He has gone above and beyond to try and fix my vehicles. Unfortunately, it was just a problem that couldnt be fixed.

Everything seemed so quick and easy! I felt very confident after test driving just a bit sad I couldn’t drive it off the lot right away but I am grateful they give their customers some type of verification. But after I settled in I decided to check the reviews and honestly you guys are scaring me ... They were great people therefore these reviews kind of scare me lol I really hope this works out well for me I already had a Chrysler stolen from me and my last car just stopped working three months later the people acted like they fixed my car and left my son and I for danger which actually occurred in a horrible accident and we sued the company and got a lot more money even with contracts involved! My car was the last one to have a special incentive on it. They stopped it after I bought my car. It was where if 5 people gave your name they would for the 1st person through 4th give you 100.00 and the 5th it got paid off. Well I sent 5ppl there and they got vehicles but I never got the incentive because when the people asked about it they were told it was no longer available. An I had told the 5 people I would give them the$$ that I would get so they didnt give my name because they thought I was lying. Now Im on the last 3 payments. I havent had my car since June because of a clutch issues but have still made the payments to them. My air conditioner or heat hasnt worked since before my warranty went up an I was told they dont fix that there. Ive been using my fathers extra car since June. My car has been at the shop since then. Not there shop because there price to fix it was a lot more then this other place. Im oon sis so I have to make payments to this other shop before I can get my car back. My insurance info is in the car which I cant get to till car is paid and Im being hassled over it. But have told the office many times that it is with the car in the shop. My last payment will be in April and Im told they will repo it. I mean whats the use too pay the last 3 if I havent even had the vehicle but Im still paying on it? When in actuality it would have already been paid off if they would have kept their word about my incentive when I bought my vehicle. Now the 5 people dont want me to give their name because they dont want any trouble. Then I get a letter just recently they dont have a valid phone number for me but yet they have called my house many times. If this is how they treat people when they get down to their last 3 payments I wont use them ever again. My payments have been I time all the way up till last month when someone got a hold of my card information and I had to get a new one of ssi which takes 7 till 10 business days. An I called then right away and told therm that a they called me everyday still harassing me about the payment when I couldnt do anything until I got my card in the mail. They werent the only ones I couldnt pay til I got my card but the other companies were a lot nicer about it.I would of bought another one from them but for 4 months I was told I owed the same amount. The only way I can post this is if I mark a star. Dont get me wrong I am not marking this star because I want to but because I want my words to be heard.This place is a total rip off. For one they charge you way over the value of the car. 2 if you have any problems with your car they try everything to make it seem like its not there fault. They sell faulty cars that has been damaged and they know this and when you question things thats when they want to tell you to stop calling or they will call the cops for harrasment. Ive had my car a month now and there are so many problems with it that when I ask about them the owner tells me to stop calling him or hes going to call the cops on me for harrasment for trying to get my car taken care of . My inspection stickers in my car are not right the vin numbers do not match plus its two different handwritings as well as. When I brought it to there attention I was told to stop calling or they will call the cops on me for harrasment. These are problems that need to be addressed but because I am speaking out about it and telling them the issues I get threatened that if I call again I will get the cops called on me. Im sorry but when you have kids and they are in the car safety should be number one .and the fact that they dont care and tell you to stop calling when Im trying to get these problems fixed and addressed to make them aware of it .they threaten to call the cops on you .please take it from me and dont do business here. I will take the appropriate measures to get this problem addressed. I have messages as well as phone records to prove what I am saying is true. At the end of the day what matters is are kids being safe in a car that we buy. As well as being shown respect after all we do provide them with there paychecks. So please take this from a single patenp that is trying to do right and make sure there kid is safe in the car .

Which caused my bill coming out to bounce. I was hit with two fee from my bank due to the car place messing up payments. They are giving me a runaround about paying me. Also John owner doesnt return any calls. His daughter (manger) act disrespectful and unable to handle herself professional at all. We are still under warranty and they insist we have to pay for our car to be fix for a problem that has been happening since the day we purchased the car back on may 8th. They have had my car more then i have had it since my fiance and i have bought the car

Please, read this whole review. Do not, and i repeat, DO NOT waste your money here. Not only is the owner completely unprofessional, but i feel he shouldnt even own a business. He buys crap cars, then sends them to a service department that has absolutly no idea what they are doing and cant even fix a lawn mower and lastly he is completely ignorant. Trust me i could say much more. Im on my second car and that one isnt working now either! The first one they couldnt even find the problem! First red flag. Their warenty is horrible and makes no sence espeically when something very expencive goes wrong after only four months of having the damn thing and he says he will add it to your loan yet doesnt tell you that he will only do about 10% of that in total. Also, good luck with a loaner. The one we got was horrible. Didnt realize that the gas gage was broken so it left us sit the same day, great. And once we finally get a quote for our car its then $100 a day to keep. Like thats worth it. Trust me, this place is a very very VERY BAD IDEA!! Spend a little more elsewhere and trust me, youll be happier.

Terrible Terrible Terrible I would never recommend this place to anybody they dont help you at all when one of their pos cars have something wrong sold us a car that 2 months in the tires were so dangerous to drive they said it should of never been sold that way but it was then 6 months later the transmission starts going out and they want to charge $100 to look at it then 95$ an hour to fix it with atleast 50% paid down front a 3 month 3000 mile warranty that covers nothing anyways is just pointless safe to say we will just run it into the ground then park it in their lot with the rest of their pos worse dealership to work with in york county never go their

They are the worst buy here pay here ive ever experienced. I bought an 06 jetta. If your check engine light comes on all they do is clear codes they dont actually fix it. Mines been in the garage several times and they never fixed anything. Now that the warranty us up they all of a sudden found a whole list of problems that i now have to pay for. I dont recommend this place to anymore. They have very poorly service. If you do buy a car there either take someone who is very experienced in mechanics or take it to a garage and have it checked over before signing an agreement. Hope this is helpful to someone. Had an Amazing experience today buying a car here. The man i dealt with (jeremy) was probably the most open and honest used car sales person i have spoken with... After going to a lot of other places over the past three weeks, i was very pleasantly surprised with my experience here... Buying any used car from anywhere is always a bit of a gamble but buying one here is like hedging your bets, you feel more confident about the whole situation... Cant wait to bring my beautiful new-to-me eclipse home next week. But i am waiting b cuz they are going over the car to double check that everything is good and that its completely safe and clean inside and out. This all after i already gave them the downpayment and everything, most definitely not the normal experience. Most places once they get your money and signature are only there to collect your payments, not these guys.... Best part, got twice the car for the same money down and a better payment then what i could at any of the others. Felt like back when you could trust a word and handshake, a real personal feel.... Only thing shady i noticed about this place is some of the customer reviews i read, no way they are talking about the same place. I have been to quite a few auto sales and when it comes to buy here pay here, well even just used cars in general THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO, VERY LEGIT!!! Recommend you go here first, then you wont need to spend weeks looking like i did... It didnt feel like they were trying to sell me a car, more like helping me thru the process to buy the car, only trouble was trying to choose, nice selection of cars & Cars you really want to buy, not just ones your able to afford... I had set my budget before arriving, yet i got the car i would want if i had no budget, and Im still under my budget for down payment, regular payments, and total price.... Thanks again for making it a wonderful experience, Im looking forward to future dealings. This will b the first place i go when its time to get my girl a car too! ....... Sorry such a long review, Im just that pleased with my experience thus far 😀.

Dear Johnny McNAmara,Everything about your company that you promise about is a joke we came to pick up the car we are paying on someone totaled theres and use are giving them another one you are working with everyone that came through to you I have been the most up respestfull person yet since the car we been paying on for the last 6 or 7 mouths and your company had it more then we had it ant that all not what you company is about not making it look bad I guess use done had your company go down hill before I came to use cause out of 8 reviews you only had maybe 2 have decent ones thats pretty bad when use sent out the car we been paying on for the two weeks hell it was not even 1 week later came back to use then not even two weeks later its back in your shop then 3 motors later and a slave cyclender and head gasket and 2 clutches many times for over heating and then this last time for the clutch they had to put a heater core I put in over $3,000 dollars on this car we been paying on and the only thing you can say you wanna work out is for us to pay for a timeing belt to be put on or take a broke down car that use sold me from the beginning that use had enough of fixing and dont wanna fix no and say its even what kind of business are you running you should be giving people there money back for selling cars like this specially when you knew this car was trouble before we even though about coming to you and though about getting a car from you but dont worrie I will make your company go all over pa and all about how money hungery you are and how you dont work with no one with any cars they are gonna be buying from you

Yep as per my previous review I still dont have my title for the car that they shouldnt have sold due to multiple holes in the frame, not to mention the work they said they did but clearly did not.
