I took a bin of clothes in to sell today and the owner was very nice and helpful! She explained that they had a lot of inventory and would be picky when choosing what to buy. She also explained that I would not be making much upfront which I expected but I thought the warning was nice. For wanting to get rid of clothes that I would have otherwise given to a thrift store, it was nice to make even just a little something. You would not get a lot in cash but I chose a store credit and it was significantly higher! The whole experience buying and selling went very well!

Ive noticed quite a few reviews stating the employees were rude, Ive been going here for years and they have always been kind and helpful. Keep in mind it usually one girl by herself so be patient.

I have been here two times and both times the workers were extremely rude and not wearing masks during a pandemic. The first time I tried to sell pieces here they told me I needed to bring in 12-15 pieces to be given an offer, so the next time I came I brought 23. The woman working told me I had less than 15 and didn’t recount the number in the box when I asked her to.

Don’t go here for cash for your clothes. The prices of the actual store are not bad when on sale. After trying to get rid of my clothes every other way I could think without just giving them away for free, I took them here. I wasn’t expecting a high offer after reading reviews. I tried anyways. I took a full bin of name brand clothes, many with tags still on. I was expecting to AT LEAST get 15-20 bucks from it all. They offered me $8. I was appalled. I was in real need of downsizing and needed to get the clothes out of my possession, so I took the offer. I’m writing this to tell others NOT to take that low of an offer. If you have name brands especially, find another way to get close to what you think it is worth. Their store is so packed to the brim they shouldn’t even be offering that service. I will not be returning.

Don’t even waste your time bringing clothes here to sell. I was offered $5 for two big bags of clothing, some of which still had tags on them. I thought the girl was joking when she told me how much they were offering. You’re better off selling them on Facebook marketplace.

Super full store with large selection of mall store brands

My daughter, granddaughter, and girlfriend all shop here and love it. Im not a shopper, but I did look around for mens cloths. Next time I need some dress shirts, Ill try it out.

Great for resale clothes

A little pricey for second hand in my opinion, but as its a place that offers more sustainable fashion, Ill take it over a fast fashion company any day. Warning for those of you looking to sell, you wont likely get much back, but also bare in mind, college closet is taking a gamble when they buy your things, many items dont get sold, and they have to make a profit to stay in business. If youre looking to make profit, you should probably sell your things somewhere else, like ebay. Also its targeted towards a college age group, which is another plus in my book.

Amazing store, always find something! They carry designer bags and jewelry as well! Everything is very clean, and the staff is wonderful!They go out of their way to help you. Dont believe those negative reviews, some of those people have never been in the store! This is a great place to shop!

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. They claim “designer clothing for less”....I took in brand new forever 21 jeans with tags still on, target clothing with tags still on, American Eagle, etc. ALL BRAND NEW with tags on. They told me my things were out dated, old, or not the brands they’d take. I was offered $8 for over 20 items or $15 store credit. They told me there wasn’t enough space to take more...yea probably because no one wants to buy the outdated, unbranded ugly clothing they have to offer. Unbelievable. Don’t waste your time here.

Horrible horrible customer service. Very rude worker who raises her voice and treats customers like complete trash. High priced junk. Seriously, they need to be closed down. Dog hair all woven through several items. I even saw some type of little bugs crawling over a stack of old filthy sneakers. I began to itch after being in that dump 5 minutes. Sign said 50% off ALL shorts HOWEVER at check out the rude, loud, obnoxious-ill educated cashier began ranting that these particular shorts were not part of the sale. Um, sign said ALL.Will not be returning. Its a total scam. Disgusting and they need to inform their workers regarding personal hygene.

This place is great for name brand clothing. All up to date. Latest fashions. And very cheap in relation to retail stores.

I will no longer go here. I just took up a large bin overflowing with clothes from American Eagle, PINK Charlotte Russe, White House Black Market, shoes, nothing that was target or kohls snce I was told the previous time they dont accept that. I also had a large bag of purses that were Scout brand, and Michael Kors(almost brand new ) and 3 winter jackets . They offered $20 for EVERYTHING ! Well everything they wanted which was still a large basket ful . They pay people a very small amount of money and put a large price tag on the items and get the benefits . I really like Emily who works in there she was always very nice but this visit was almost a slap in the face and I wont be returning . You just lost a customer

I had a very bad experience with another local consignment shop so I will never consign with anyone but College Closet from now on. It’s unbelievable how business owners can be so rude an unprofessional and I’m so glad I never experienced that with College Closet. Great job!

Three stars ONLY BECAUSE they have fair prices on clothes they are selling but do NOT take clothes in to sell. They will give you an insulting price for clothes worth (at least) 25x what they offer. Im serious.

I have never been talked to in such a manner. Customer service is so bad and I was publically critized for the clothes I brought in. For last years north face, three last season sweaters from loft and some other miscellaneous tops from young brands I was quoted for $5 total. When I questioned the amount, the sales woman berated me for what I brought in. After she raised her voice at me and telling me I wasn’t good enough to be in the store, I left will all of my items and will never return. Disappointing. Please learn how to treat customers

I went to consign my clothes here twice hoping that the second time would be better than the last. The first time the woman took a huge stack of clothes and offered me $10 when everything was American eagle or hollister. Since I needed the money I didnt even care. The second time she took new items with tags still on them and offered me $3. When I asked why she didnt take the other items she rudely said they were too old. There are items in there that look like they are from the 1960s but my 2014 American eagle sweaters werent good enough.

I had heard great things about this place but when my sister and I went there the older blonde lady working there was really rude. She accidentally walked in while I was changing which happens but didnt apologize. Then when my sister was ready to check out the lady said the price on the tag was wrong and raised it substantially! Not only that she held it behind the counter and refused to even hand it over. Even if it was priced wrong I think her attitude was just snobbish which is strange for a thrift store. So we left and didnt make a fuss about it but it really bothered me later. Ive been in customer service for years and rookies dont even treat customers like that.

They say $ for clothes, didnt take any of mine saying they were older style. Meanwhile have sweaters from years ago that have been washed 46 times and stretched out on the racks.

Best place to buy second hand clothes period!

I enjoyed shopping at this store, but when I went in to sell my clothes for some extra cash for school, I left very unsatisfied. I brought in a black bag full of perfectly good clothing, a lot of designer and some even with tags still on them. When I brought them up to the front desk there was a lady there who told me that it would take 10-15 minutes to go through that entire bag and come up with an offer. I was able to see that she barely got through half of the bag, and then just gave them all back to me saying that they were off brand and basically not good enough. In that bag, there was Charlotte Russe, Calvin Klein, Hollister, Aeropostle, Rue 21, Max Azria, Victorias Secret, and so much more. Designers that were already hanging up in the store?! If she didnt want my clothes she shouldve just said so. That was rude. It almost seemed as though she knew from the beginning she wasnt going to take my clothes. I hope it wasnt a racist thing but it made me wonder. It was a waste of my time walking in there and I wont go back.

Great variety of name brand clothing

Terrible experience, I come to try the cash for clothes and they rarely accept stuff, it’s always something wrong with it or you won’t have enough, they try to low ball you for your items, just recently I came to try and there were new employees and they told me I couldn’t because there’s only one person that goes threw items and wouldn’t be in till the next day, that’s very inconsiderate and inconvenient for those who are in need of that particular service at that time.
