I used to go to CSW when I was a kid through college. GI Joe, Aliens and Predator comics in the 80s, Ghost Rider, Teen Titans, Battletech and D&D in the early 90s, MTG in late 90s. Recently went back in, for the first time in 20 years (new location). It was a very different kind of place but I was not disappointed.I love the focus on smaller comic publishers, which is pretty much all I read. Kudos for that! The selection of board games and GW miniatures was impressive as well.Hope I get a chance to visit again soon.

Pokemon products are at scalper prices in there. The Japanese product is priced well but the English product that they get at the same price from any official distributor is sold at absurd prices. When shining fates were released ETBs were $80.... now I go in for celebrations and its 19.99 for a mini tin.... what.....

Used to be my LGS when Id lived in York. Just went back and was pleasantly surprised theyd acquired the shop next door to have a large amount of play space. Its kept clean and neat and has a friendly staff.

I was clearly being racially profiled and wasnt aloud to look thru the cards without supervision sitting next to me and when I asked for a specific card that would be in the binders they had up front on the shelf the women walked to the back for 2 seconds came back and said she didnt have it she did this multiple times.

I came in tonight to play 40k for the first time. No one was playing at the time but someone at the front desk helped me find someone to play with. I am new to the game and they walked me through it. I had a great time.

Totally dope. Biggest store around town for paints and miniatures, plus they just acquired more space for playing games at the location. Paints, miniatures, cards, comics, boardgames, and more. Im in it for the DnD and paints, with a side of Games Workshop games.

If another store has it, it will be cheaper. I am disappointed they moved from my local hobby store from the 90s into the 95% comic book only store they are today. If you are going in for gaming and cant travel out of York its your best bet. If you can get to Harrisburg your time will be rewarded.

Was excellent, I stopped in to procure some of the new pokemon card set. Also was surprised to see The Nerd Market was happening. Ended up leaving with a booster box and 2 of my favorite. Comics! Win, win 11/10 would shop again.Also p.s. the fact they put limits on the items is amazing since I work first shift. It usually leaves me unable to get items

Comics West is a fantastic Indy-run shop. They have knowledgeable people who are into all aspects of comics/ trade paperbacks and table top gaming. I’ve been going here for a while to feed my miniature painting addiction. Nice selection and very wide swath of stuff. GW is represented here along with WOT-C (D&D) and stuff like Fallout or one offs like Kids on Brooms. Totally take a look at the 3rd party paint supplies and minis. Love REAPER minis. You could do a lot worse to spend an hour or two perusing here.

Lots of inventory, easy to get in and out of, convenient location close to gas, highway, McDonalds. Easy to find with navigation. Friendly service.clean.

My son has just got into Magic cards. They were extremely knowledgeable and patient with my sons questions? He explained everything about deck building which my son was trying to do. Prices are reasonable too, not pushy but offered suggestions and informed us of up coming events.

Second time going to this shop in the last 6 months and staff doesnt acknowledge you walking in the door or while you shop. Signage in the store suggest negative staff. Dont do this and you cant do that. Bought nothing and left this time. Wont be back

Always have Dragon Shield in stock. Went for very specific colors [Petrol and No Glare Purple] and actually had both. Im not a fan of the LGS as an industry but I will never shy away from stopping in CSW.

Pretty good comic shop. Decent selection. I would organize the comics on the shelf differently than they do. I think just a straight alphabetical system would be better. In my opinion, too much gaming stuff vs comic stuff, but I guess the gaming stuff sells better. Its nice that they stay open on Sundays later than most stores.

Worth the drive to participate in their comic book clearance/long box special. We look forward to their next big sale.

Always a poor experience here. The majority of the employees (save one) are very unkind and abrasive to customers that want to purchase from their store. I dont get it. I was very offended.Update:Things have changed at this store. The location has been updated physically which is big plus but the actual customer service has improved as well.

Worst comic book experience ever!! Just moved close and decided to check it out. I guess it was game day (Sunday) because the kids behind the counter were playing a game. The manager never acknowledged either me or my wife.When I asked about the flea market I was told Id have to get a table to sell a few books. The manager was rude when asked about it. Like we were bothering her.There are a good amount of shops in the area so I will be taking my money elsewhere

Great store appeals to many interests. Best store for RPGs in the York area with plenty of books, dice and dungeon tiles. Minis and war gaming figurines along with paint supplies are in good supply. Cards and board games round out the selection of gaming supplies, and there are tables for play in the back. And of course thats not even mentioning the propose a stated in the name, the comics.Add friendly and helpful staff and youll find that this store has everything you need to start a variety of games and fill out the missing parts of your current collection.

There is a nice balance between gaming merchandise and comics. The hours are convenient and the store is clean.It takes a bit to get used to finding the new comics that come in weekly as they are on the same shelf as the prior weeks but are individually marked as new.This is our current go to store despite it being on the other side of the city.

Great people with a modest but quality selection

Love this place! every time I go there the staff is always friendly and there is an excellent selection of comics, cards and tabletop games. one feature I like is apart from the individually wrapped and sleeved comics for specific reading/collecting, they have a bin that has comics wrapped in bundles for $5 a piece! this is a great thing if you arent sure what you want or want to try something you havent heard about without breaking the bank.

I have only been here a few times, but from what I have seen, this is a pretty good place to go for trading cards, comics, and other related items. The pricing is cheaper than what Ive seen in other places, and the staff is nice and helpful. Overall, Id recommend it.

This store has much more than just comics. Lots of games, gobs of tabletop gaming accessories, Warhammer and other minis, much more. And lots of comics!

Wide selection of comics, games, cards and collectibles. Dedicated parking. Also, a large game room in back for nerds across nerd-dom to gather and hang out. D&D Encounters, Magic tournaments, etc. give plenty for anyone to do.

Games store West would be a better name for this store since it seems to be their main focus. I was in on July 7th 2018 and asked if the had any key issues for DC. The guy behind the counter said they no long by back issues. I looked around and he wasn’t lying. The only comics they have are new moderns.But game stuff like D&D or Magic are every where!

Ive been a fan of comics for over 30 years. I have seen many (MANY) comic book stores come and go. Comic Store West is one of my favorites and, in my opinion, the best Comic Book & Gaming Shop in PA. Visit often. They have a great space, great staff and wonderful events.

My wife and I have been going here for the Adventure League sessions on Wednesdays and everyone has been really nice and helpful. They have a great selection of merchandise for D&D as well as many other games, including dice, figures, and paints. They also have a variety of board games and extension packs.

This is a great comic book store. They offer a full line of comics, board games, figures to paint, dungeon and dragons books and accessories. The staff is always helpful and willing to track down anything you might be looking for but just cant seem to find.

MTG events ran by Bret are awesome. Plus the store has a TON of awesome comics and board games to peruse through. Every time I visit I have a blast.

This is the best store for people who do not like magic. The game is definitely a side thought in the business and they do not staff anyone knowledgeable about the game. Aside form that they have a genuine desire to invest in their community and have always treated me with the a professional attitude. they have higher mtg prices but it is worth supporting the store.

Friendly staff. New and used comics along with a good selection of Graphic Novels. Also they have a wide variety of games and supplies.

Depends on who is there. Giving an opinion on a customer purchase is never wise when it is unsolicited. They have a fairly decent amount of items. However selling them at rates that are too high. A good place for quick purchase of a board game or a set of die not suggestable for a subscription or fairly price accessory item.

I have been bouncing back and forth between Comic Store (Lancaster) and Comic Store West since they were first opened. The people are friendly, they take time with their customers and sometimes that means you need to be patient while they give others the time they deserve. Excellent service, and excellent selection of comics and games. You cant ask for any more than that.

I regularly go here. People are friendly, and its fun to play Magic on Thursdays. Hopefully someday they will have Friday Night Magic, but its good for now.

The staff are friendly, the shop itself is cozy, and the prices are good. They hold open game nights regularly, and they were very helpful when my girlfriend and I went there. The only thing that irks me is that they dont seem to carry Battletech stuff regularly, although when I went in there they did tell me that they had some recently.

Excellent customer service. Clean organized and friendly environment. This has been my go to comic store for the past 5-8 years. No complaints.

There magic card prices arent always on point. I have seen price marked wrong such as the (From the vault) $7 rolling thunder that they are selling as if it were the (portal)$64 card. They should just check price at time of sale. This isnt the only time case.

Good day for a game sale. My son got good deals.

Love this place. Although, they messed up my boyfriends stack. One guy told him it was all put away but on another visit the staff asked him if he wanted anything from it. This was very frustrating. Otherwise, it is a decent store.

If you play magic, do not shop here. This store charges well above market price for product including roughly 143 for booster boxes (100 at market value at any other store). They recently charged 280 per box for modern horizons when you could buy it at market for 200 at other stores as well as on Amazon. They charge for the value of the packs inside the box rather than the the actual market value of the box.If youre trading in cards they only give you half the value of the card and only store credit, youre probably better off selling them on tcgplayer. They also only allow you to trade in a very small amount of cards at a time.In the owners reply to my review he mentions a 15% discount on the MSRP. Wizards of the Coast got rid of MSRP for stores so this is false. The market is what dictates the price for these products. The market price at the time or purchase is/was $200 and I was sold a product for $280. This is not a 15% discount.
