Great little shop in the Weightlifting Hall of Fame building. My dad grew up lifting York weights and passed them down to me, so it was a great experience to check out the store, pick up some apparel and grab a dumbbell!

Came here to buy some weights for home but right now during this outbreak thier selection is very limited and thats understandable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The prices are the same as online but I can pick everything up here and dont have to wait for shipping. There is a scratch and dent room in the back, you can pick up somethings cheaper then normal price.Also, visited the museum and it was pretty nice. Lots to see and read about past bodybuilders.

The prices here are UNBEATABLE, and everything is about half the cost of any other manufacturer for brand new equipment. Youd be hard-pressed to find deals and savings comparable to York. Quality is excellent, and the customer service is great as well. Pick-up was also seamless since you drive straight up to the warehouse and get your stuff loaded from there. If you want to get equipment for and not pay an arm and a leg, this is the place to go. Hands down.

Great prices and product. Cashier is normally helpful but be prepared for unexpected attitude occasionally. Worth ignoring that for the York brand.

What a cool place!!! So much history is contained in this building.. Not only does it house a retail outlet for the entire line of York products, from weights to workout clothes, but it’s also a museum showcasing the entire story of the modern bodybuilding industry.. We stopped here while passing through on a road trip.. The staff was helpful and friendly.. The premises were kept organized and clean.. Really a fun experience..

York barbell offers a great assortment of equipment at a reasonable price. So far, Ive ordered two 25# weight plates with a 1 hole and a 1 [standard] barbell that is 7 long. These were separate orders. Both arrived promptly via UPS. I highly recommend doing business with these folks!

Well! This was on my someday list for along time. I wasnt enthusiastic except about barbell man out front- but as I wandered around and got into some of the deep history- yeah, man, cool! Bonus: dent and ding sale room is in the back if this is your kind of thing.Barbells- not just for leopard print onsie men.

After having a lot of issues on my first attempt to purchase iconic York weights I figured I needed to give York a second chance, and they truly delivered bigtime! The service here is excellent both in the outlet retail store and over in the shipping center. They take a lot of pride in what they do and really care about their customers. Theres also an awesome museum here on the history of the company and many of the lifters that have used their products as well as the history of competitive lifting. If youre in the area its definitely worth a stop

Being a smaller, residential customer, they treated me just like everybody else. York is still #1!

I wish there was a way to give 2 ratings. The gentleman that was working at the store was a great guy and did everything he could to help us.The store itself had great prices on the few items it had for sale. There is almost nothing to buy on the shelves and you cant pre-order incoming inventory. If you need some small dumbbells or some heavy ones you might get lucky. They have some other odds and ends but not much.

We went in on a snow day thinking they wouldnt be real busy. Wrong! Always at least 2 customers in store.We went in to purchase 1 or 2 dumbbells and walked out with the entire set. Weve been there several times throughout the years but never had the service we did on this particular day! Also ended up with the rack, mats, bars, bumper plates and other items. Will definitely go back as our home gym grows. My family has been buying from York Barbell since the 60s as my father worked at Consolidated Freightways and every pay day he bought another piece. Glad you keep the lifter going in circles! Those that know, know!

Decent equipment and good price, however this company has very poor values in terms of customer service.. They will play with your money all types of ways. I would avoid placing a large order online. I had to threaten with a charge back to even get a response about how badly they hacked my order.

Ordered a few small weight plates on Tuesday and they arrived to me on Thursday! Other places were talking 6-weeks delivery due to Covid. Im just in the next state over, but still, they must have processed and shipped my order the same day! Very pleased!

Old company largely stuck in the past. Retail store is dated, website is dated, and the designs of a large number of the items are dated. However, there are some real gems here - their take on a trap bar might be one of the best values on the market, some of the plates are genuinely innovative like the G2 and ISO grips, and generally prices are rather good being that nearly everything is imported. But compared to most of the other heavy hitters out there like Rogue, Rep, Vulcan, Fringe, and even Titan, its tough to see them surviving well into the 21st century without some serious modernization of their marketing and sales operations. Home gyms have been on the rise well before the demand explosion caused by COVID and, in my opinion, its time to come out with some new bench and rack product lines that dont look like youd find them in a Sears catalog from your parents attic.

Very very poor service!! March 2020 bought a few different pieces of weight equipment totaling $500. One of which was a multi exercise machine, got home tried to build it but had completely wrong directions, which made it very difficult to work through. Also many of the pieces were missing which I have continuously been asking for them over the course of 7 MONTHS. They have said they are ordered, but it has been beyond a ridiculous amount of time and Still have not received the parts I already purchased way back in march. Not a happy customer and will NEVER shop here again or refer any friends to this unprofessional company!!

Website out of the eighties, customer service only accepting emails and no phone calls, nothing in stock, no ETAs on restocks, no west side spacing on any racks. What a shame.

I ordered a 3301 Home Max Gym from York Barbell. When I opened everything up to put the machine together it was missing the very first piece I needed to put it together. I went through the rest of the inventory and found another piece has a crooked weld on it and makes the piece unsuable. I have emailed every email they provide on their site. I called the toll free number yesterday was transferred to Bill. I got his voicemail so I left a message with my order number, name, and phone number. Nothing. Not a hello, goodbye, or FU. I spent over 600 dollars between the machine and delivery for a bunch of metal to sit on my floor and not do what it is supposed to do.Update: The parts department finally reached out to me on January 28th to ask which parts I needed. It is now February 19th and still havent heard if they are going to ship me the part status update or anything. I guess I will have to call my bank again to dispute my purchase.

I placed an order for plates on 11/18. The order was listed as Processing so I called twice to check on the status of my order. The first time the woman told me that they would get to my order eventually. No updates. Yesterday (12/3) I called again and the woman told me that I should be receiving my order by the end of next week. Today I received an email that my order is actually out of stock and At this time we cannot substitute any items for these out of stock items as website orders cannot be added to. so Ill be receiving a full refund. I wish I knew that these would not be in stock when I paid for these over 2 weeks ago. Very poor business practices.

York is finally open again! They still dont have a lot of stock. But the staff there worked with us to get some things to get started. In some cases, we bought better (e.g., commercial grade) than we needed. But they gave us additional discount on the most expensive items. Worth the 2-hour drive, for us.

Running a small gym on a shoe string budget can be tough. Thanks to York Barbell, I am able to get the necessary equipment at a very reasonable price. Plus the equipment is made well. Easy to get to the facility, plus when you are there, check out the museum. A lot of very cool history.

Received some of the weights I ordered. Some were damaged in transit (unrelated to York barbell) - but its been 2.5 weeks and still no update as to when the new one will be sent.

The person helping us was very friendly and answered all my questions. He was very apologetic for lack of inventory and gave me a good idea when stock would be available.

Literally held $500 of mine for almost 3 weeks and didnt ship me anything. Absolute scam. Didnt even notify me I was refunded and wouldnt be getting my order. Absolute worst experience from an online vendor I have ever had. Would never recommend them to anybody. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

I had the unlikely coincidence of outfitting my home gym, that I have been planning for a year, to fall right when COVID was hitting. I ordered days before COVID made PA close non-essentials (which I still dont know why York closed when all the other companies in states that had the same order stayed open). My order was processed and not shipped out in time. I was completely fine with this as I know we are dealing with a pandemic and wanted to remain loyal to the brand I originally was going to give my money to. So I didnt cancel my order and thought when it ships it will ship. Then I get an email about a month later stating they refunded my order... No warning no indication. I responded and asked why I never cancelled. They stated they dont know what holds for them opening up and I can place the order again when they do. I signed up for a notification of when they are planning on shipping again via instructions from their website.Fast forward 2 months now to May 12th, with checking their website daily for changes... There messages of being closed were taken off and I called their customer service to ask for more information. She said to Check the Website Later.... I am sitting here doing work and refreshing the page and finally says that I can place an order. I go to do it and now it says they cannot due to high demand. What a joke... I still have yet to ever receive my notification email of them opening back up.From the calls and interactions I had with York their customer service is terrible. I get there is something going on but it is almost as if they dont care about their customers... especially ones that had an order and were patient enough to keep their money with York. Sadly I never got to support York and I really wanted to with being from PA and my dad always using York...There is a reason why these guys are irrelevant now in the fitness industry and will continue to falter. Ill continue my patience and get my equipment from Rogue or REP instead of ever looking Yorks way again.

Don’t waste your money. Made an order and was shipped UPS. Package was lost. Over the last week I’ve sent them emails and made phone calls without any response. Guess it’s time to just let the credit card company get my money back. This place sucks!!!

Called this place today talked a rude lady, was transferred to a voice mail that was full and have been calling back for the hour and now nobody will answer the phone. This is the poorest customer service I have seen, and would not buy a dead cat from this place.

The store was nice but I did have to drive across to the warehouse to pick up my order. The museum is kind of eerie, all the award plaques stop in the mid 1990s, giving it a strange vibe. They even had a local business award hanging up that they won, it too was 20 years old.

Their product is like other companies but the companies customer service is very poor. I have sent several emails and received no replies. I stopped trying to call the 800 number because I coukd never get anyone.

We went to buy a set of weights. The store and equipment were great. The customer service was horrible. When we entered no one was manning the store. We were in the store 15 minutes before anyone entered. Then When they did enter he didn’t even ask if we needed help. We had questions and felt we were bothering him. We made our purchase and after loading our car went back in as my husband forgot to get a set of dumbbells. The guy was gone. We waited 10 minutes and called the store number twice before finally walking out without the dumbbells.

Decent selection with decent prices, I was actually expecting the prices to be more like wholesale though and less like a sale at the local sporting goods stores. Still, its good to buy American and support the local labor force and economy so I would certainly recommend shopping here for you weight lifting needs.
