This is a nice family-owned grocery store. They have it all! Only downside are prices - can be pretty pricey on some items. Sale prices are usually pretty good - competitive.

I made a run to sparkle market in boardman.I was amazed on one of the meat products.It was a mark down on pork loin rib chops.i didnt think twice of why they were priced so low.I looked through a few and didnt see anything wrong with them.so i stacked up several in my cart. I was very glad i droped in that day. Yes it was crowded.but i lucked again avoiding the long line.another casheir opened up another isle.and i scooped over to be first and checked out.another time again shoping at a grocery store didnt have to wait in a long line.

Been going here for over 15yrs. Very clean,employees very polite. Produce has gone down hill, outdated lettuce on shelves, a lot of things dont look good, havnt had Hartsville kitchen dressing they use carry sweet and sour,quit selling sliced almonds in contaniers. So I am shopping elsewhere for produce. Sad !!

The store is very outdated and rundown. There were tons of fruit flies on the onions... So i am assuming they were bad! Also their wedding soup was disgusting it had collard greens in it. There fried chicken was like it was fried the day before then reheated the next day! They have good prices on some food. Their homemade breads are great...as for the hot food section dont waste your money. Deli meats and foods were good.

Love this store, everyone is so friendly and they have a great variety.

I usual find milk & juices marked down that i like, the meat goes on good sales once in awhile, and the deli is fair. They usually have reduced produce which we like because we juice and drink smoothies so that keeps cost low. Weve had the fried chicken and we really dont like it. The legs are big and the chicken is tough and they do not give wings in the 8 pieces. The bakery is decent and they have things like egg pie that Im pretty impressed by. They have recently started a Monday deal that cuts prices of a chosen item down low for the day. Its a decent grocery store.

The ada states that before refusing service to a customer who has stated they have a disability for a reason for not wearing a mask that you must make an attempt to reasonably accommodate, I e curbside pickup, personal shoppers, etc. My visit to this location I was not given reasonable accommodation to obtain my products the only option your service clerk gave me was wear it or get out and called security on me when I still refused to wear a mask she followed me out of the store with a broom. When I tried to explain the situation again she cut me off and rambled on about the hand written sign posted I continued to try to walk away from the woman and told her to leave me alone and to get away from me she continued to follow me out the door and ramble on. You should be ashamed for allowing your employees to act in such an unprofessional manner. Ive shopped at this location for many years and even threw the whole pandemic never had anyone question me and get so belligerent about me not wearing a mask due to my disability. Not to mention the three other customers who were standing in line not wearing masks that nothing was said to until this clerk questioned me. I will be back to this location unfortunately because I do not shop corporate and prefer to shop local. I just hope that I dont have the same issues I had with this particular employee ever again. Nemenz would never allow customers to be treated so poorly

Ive been going there for years, everyone is friendly and courteous. Store is clean and easy to find what u need.

Need more cashiers. Nowhere should you have to wait that long in line to check out. Its as though stores dont care about customer s anymore.

If youre from this area, you know. A part of the Youngstown fabric, very few left, hometown feel, everything youre looking for, reasonably priced. I still miss the Union Square shop, first place I ever bought shark steaks to grill, but this will do just fine.

A bunch of complaining employees. That is all you hear. The GHETTO sparkles, because of the employees. Toxic environment. Bring headphones.

Its always amazing... great deals and staff. Honestly customer service is probably the best in the biz. And BTW I dont work there.

As one of the few Sparkle Markets left near an urban area, the South Ave. location remains one of the best because of friendly neighborhood staff and competitive pricing. They also have a full service bakery and delicatessen. The store may be a bit behind when compared to larger franchises in certain areas, but they make up for it with great service.

Some prices are good. Would love to see some lower price/store brand selections foe those of us on a limited income

Nice clean local store, with a well stocked deli/kitchen. Ready to eat food is available at a reasonable price. Limited selection on many products like produce, spirits, and international products. 3 stars for that. 4 stars for customer service.

Decent local market with an ample supply of merchandise at fairly competitive prices and a fairly, when you can find someone, helpful staff. Its nice to see a market where most of the patrons are known and called by name by certain members of the staff.That being said, it is a disappointment when employees keep customers they dont know waiting so they can catch up on the latest gossip and news with customers they do.

This has one of the worst produce sections Ive ever seen. So many times I go to purchase produce, and it is OLD, BROWN, FORGOTTEN ABOUT in the cases. Rotate your produce! If its getting older, sell it for a reduced price. The price that we pay for all your products are too much. Your not Giant Eagle. Your the only market for miles to the next one. Take better pride in the produce you put on your shelves. Take the nasty bags of bulk apples, oranges, and completely dried out fresh ginger off the shelves. It is disgusting to feel and see mushy produce in bags. Train your employees too.

A great place to go for quick stops. You wont usually find anything exotic here. Save that for bigger stores. But, they have bakery and deli and usually have the basics you need. Store small enough to be in and out quick.

Horrible customer service!! Cashiers talking negatively towards customers... try to close before they are suppose to giving nasty looks to customers for shopping at 6:50 pm when store doesnt close til 9pm website States 8pm but was rude with customers bc they were closing earlie at 7...just terrible!! not to mention their prices are so high they are a rip off !!! If I could I wouldnt give them even 1 star !!

This Sparkle always has fresh food at great prices. Along with the weekly ad sales the store also has unadvertised items that are a great bonus to your weekly grocery shopping. The service workers are mostly cordial and professional. I like shopping at my local grocery store.

The store just seems outdated. Could use some new flooring, better lighting, etc. Some things are overpriced although the coupons do come in handy once in awhile. Love the fresh whole catfish in the meat dept. Cops love parking in this lot to catch speeders on South Ave...

Yo I love this place...conveintly located, always stocked, fresh veggies-n-fruits, freshest cuts of meat. Need help locating a item someone is always nearby to point you in the right direction! Need assistance but dont know exactly what it is your looking for, someone is always willing to lend a suggestion thats pretty accurate! Customer service just cant be beat. Try them if you never have...you wont be dissapointed.

The store is very convenient for the neighborhood that it is located in. However the prices seem to be a little high and you are paying for convenience. The store does need a little bit of updating however it has been maintained and it is nice to see a family business still thriving after all these years.

The cashier that rang me up. I could tell shewasnt having a good day. She talked to fastwhen explaining to me what to do with my card that I had to pay with. This is one of the only decent supermarkets around with fruits and veggies. However, They lost my business after today which sucks because we dont have many options around here. My son who is 4 (just finished potty training) Had to GO Now!!! He was almost in tears because they wouldnt let him. This is rediculous! So I had to pick up my my other baby out the cart and leave my groceries there and walk out empty handed. JUST TO RUSH MY SON TO ANOTHER BATHROOM... I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I SHOP HERE WEEKLY OR MORE... Lost a Longtime customer
