Today I overstepped my lung capacity with the number of beach balls I needed to inflate. I had heard that ACE potentially had an air compressor available for use. When I walked in, I was immediately assisted with the task. Andrew even asked if he could carry a couple arm fulls out to my car so that I wasnt stuck chasing beach balls down the street after dropping them. ACE is genuinely the most helpful place!

Fast service getting help finding the correct nuts and bolts. Friendly staff and nice to support a local business. Would highly recommend!

This is an old school hardware store with everything you need. If they dont have it, you dont need it. They also repair mowers, snow blowers, etc. Very knowledgeable owner and staff.

I got some keys made! They were fast, safe, and so financially frugal that i had to get more so I could use my coupon for being a rewards member! The keys worked and you cant get this type of service anymore! I HIGHLY recommend stopping by! I LOVE supporting smaller businesses!

I love this place. Old fashioned hardware store, walking distance from most student rental property in Ypsilanti. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpfilled. Ive been going here for 30 years. Yikes!

These guys are great, totally committed to following distancing rules, incredibly helpful, I barely set foot in the store and they got me everything I needed and safely loaded up my car. Why go to the big box? These guys are locally owned, support your local community and get good prices. I forget they are here and shame on me for that.

I had a chainsaw chain sharpened and the staff was so helpful. The customer service from all of the staff was excellent. I even got a crash course on how to maintain my saw.

Had what I needed, but most items are locked up. Not a good sign.

After a handful of years shopping at a big-box home improvement store, their curbside pickup option was discontinued (its month two of COVID). Ive decided that I would much rather spend my money at a local business going forward. ACEs staff happily fulfilled my order over the phone and had it ready for pickup in a matter of hours. The owners and associates are knowledgeable with an impressive work ethic! They are definitely focused on positive customer relations. The terrific reputation continues from the 1950s. My husband and I are very active 70 yr olds. When we need anything for our yard or working on our 110 yr old home, Ace Hardware is so close. MANY decades ago when I was 8 (and older) my Dad used to take me with him to purchase the many items that we needed for construction. I learned a lot from my Dad then, as well as the patient workers years ago and even now when my husband and I go there. The present owners have the materials needed and can tell us exactly where the items are located. Ace continues the small town atmosphere and employees make us feel like members of their family. Their smiles, sense of humor and conversations brighten our day. They are really helpful with many suggestions and guidance. This business is an asset to our town and the owner and associates are great representatives for their business. My neighborhood hardware store, in downtown Ypsilanti. Old-time feel, with wooden floors; clean and well- organized with services and goods for home and garden. Small store with courteous, personable and knowledgeable staff. Any item not on the floor, they will order for me, with a quick turnaround. A necessity for me as I prefer small business, to big-box stores. Where else can I take the wheel from my barrow and get a replacement inner tube/with inflation for a paltry $5!; find a non-toxic product (to animals and humans), diatomaceous earth, to repel ants; get all my questions answered because they are always well-staffed.

Having been a self employed repairman for many years Ive been to Congdon Ace dozens of times. I returned over and over because Congdons always knew what to stock and so I rarely had to go somewhere else. Its a smallish shop but dont let its size fool you. If youre looking for housewares, this isnt the place but if you need hardware you cant do better.
