As of right now, they have a limited menu and no indoor seating. But, as always, their ice cream is super creamy, incredibly fresh, and some of the best in town.Whether you get classic vanilla or something more adventurous, youll always be in bliss with what you get.Their banana split though... So good.
TASTE THE LOVE!! Everything is hand made and delicious! There is so much pride here and its obvious in every bite.Just be careful, they use a snow shovel for a scoop - start with one and then see if you actually have room for a second.
In the area stopped in to try. Quirky spot downtown, very cool.. Ice cream was out of this world!! Forgot the flavors, mine was buttery and creamy and all three we tried were awesome. The waffle cone maybe the best I have ever had. Not to sweet, light and totally compliments the ice cream
Terrific ice cream here. They make their own ginger ale, too. Try a ginger ale float with browned butter ice cream. So good I usually cant even think about ordering something else.
Brown butter ice cream was delicious! The waffle cone so buttery and yummy. Ice cream was sooo expensive, $7 for 1 scoop.
Wonderful ice cream sandwiches. Worth the drive, but wished they had more than a walk up window and some little table and chairs in the alley where the window is located. It started to rain and I left my umbrella in the car. Just had to get my rain shorten order and go.
Expect to pay a premium price, but get a premium taste. They have several high-end locally sourced flavors. They make everything but the sprinkles in-house. Yum!
Vegan chocolate ice cream will the best youve ever had. Im not vegan, and this is roll your eyes back into your head fantastic. Salted chocolate chip cookies are among several baked offerings delicious on their own or a la mode. Another favorite is their hot chocolate. Go! offers classic and creative (non-vegan & vegan) treats house made from local and artisanal ingredients. Local treasure owned by Rob who cares about CDC guidelines, employees, sustainability, and the local community. Want to treat yourself to flavor and a joyful service experience? Go!
At Go Ice Cream, you can tell they are passionate about what they do best — crafting delectable ice cream and desserts with an attention to details, and a service orientation that can’t be beat. Everything is crafted lovingly from fresh ingredients (local whenever possible). I was impressed by how clean everything looks on a busy Sunday afternoon. The clerk was friendly and helped us navigate the menu w/ samples. The vanilla is quite tasty. I’ll try their Coffee & Cookies next time. We just picked up double scoop of the Sweet Brown Butter. See for yourself.... Life is indeed sweet, and we all scream for ice cream!
The people who work there are always incredibly nice and holy wow, that cookie butter ice cream was incredible!!!
The strawberry ice cream had strawberry jam mixed in! And their peach/spice/oatmeal ice cream sandwich was delicious!
Rob and his staff clearly love what they do! Always a pleasant experience! The ice cream is delicious and of the highest quality. (Not sure what to get? Try a chocolate sorbet shake but be forewarned any other will pale in comparison!) Most recent treat was the egg nog gingerbread cookie sundae...YUM!
There most definitively diabetic coma inducing deliciousness in ypsilanti. This banana flambe split is to die for. The balance of flavors just *muah*This particular one ended up being a banana clam more than a split as they ran out of the long waffle bowls but it was just as delicious. Is it too big for one? Hmmm... Depends on the one. Lol
We had some creamy goodness from GO ice cream tonight while attending the Ypsi Pride event. The line was long but it sure went quickly.
I didnt get any flavor at all from the butter ice cream. I threw it away after 3 bites. All calories no pleasure
OMG, their chocolate sorbet is incredible. A bit pricey but worth it!!
We miss Go Icecream and glad we werr there today to have their new flavors!
Hands down THE friendliest shop in Ypsilanti, a town full of fantastic shop owners. We are always greeted as if we are the most exciting part of the crews day.The ice cream is phenomenal. The sweet browned butter is a mainstay and I have to imagine their most popular flavor. There is always something different and its oftentimes a little bit out there like curry ice cream. You cant really go wrong at Go!
Perfect Ice cream store! Place was great and staff was nice.
Always awesome, offering online ordering with Saturday pick-ups during pandemic measures. I love the spirit and the products, and am happy to pay a premium for both.
My dog was extremely disappointed :(
If you like ice cream, then using Cold Stone as a base, Go! Ice Cream is 65% better than that. It is 10% better than Handels Ice Cream in Ohio, and between 5-10% better than the ice cream parlor in downtown Plymouth, MI. You are free to sample any if the flavors and the varieties are all good. You may fall in love with their hand-crafted sodas as they will have flavors ranging from rose to ginger ale throughout the year. You cant go wrong at Go!
This is one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly eateries in downtown Ypsilanti. They are extremely friendly and make the TASTIEST flavors of ice cream you will ever try. The employees are courteous and amazing. Keep up the great work 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
It’s not the ever-changing variety of flavors that keeps me coming back, but rather the A1 customer service! I’m always greeted as soon as I walk in and met with a friendly face. Service is unbeatable and fast. They truly make me feel welcomed and happy EVERY time! My only suggestion would be that they widen the menu a bit more with a bit more permanent flavors instead of just mainly the changing ones. 10/10 would recommend it here!
Friendly fun atmosphere. I was there for an all you can eat party. We had 4 selections of awesome ice cream, and a multitude of toppings. About four or five candy, cookie sprinkle, type toppings, and three different sauces including a yummy magic shell sauce. I dont know the price point but my hubby also picked up 5 of the limited time ice cream tacos that look awesome but we havent yet tried. I would bring one of my children there again for a personal reward or special mom and me day, but I dont see us making regular visits.
I have never had some much fun in such a short time or small space. This place is just when you need a pick me up. I love that they let you create your happiness in a cup, cone or bowl. I had for the first time a soda. It was with birthday cake ice cream and key lime soda. It was amazing. I go and get Ice cream every week. Sometimes I can’t make it the because of being weak from chemo, but I send people there for me. See you soon.
This place is amazing! My boyfriend and I have been coming here just after they opened the store and its our favorite place to stop by and get some amazing ice cream. The staff is unbelievably friendly and inclusive and they really make everyone feel welcome whether it is your first time visiting or youre a regular. The flavors are ever changing so if you see one you like make sure to go in before its gone. The banana split is life changing but pretty big so make sure you have friends to help you finish it. Cant recommend this place enough, Rob and the staff have done an amazing job creating an inclusive, welcoming business that is so much more than ice cream.
This place is *fabulous*! Delicious house-made ice cream and sorbet in an adorable space with a retro soda shop feel. Staff is amazing, they make sundaes, shakes, etc while you wait, you can even take home a pint. Flavors rotate, and samples are free. My favorite is Sweet Brown Butter with caramel on top (REAL caramel, not sauce). You will *not* be disappointed!
It was very good. I had the honey vanilla flavor. This ice cream shop is a tiny little place but the service was excellent. All ice cream served was made there. Also, they have plenty of seating down the hall in a much bigger room. Nice and clean atmosphere. I would go again!
Great homemade ice cream made with pride locally. Flavors are excellent and they make some of their own toppings. They have fully vegan options which makes them stand out from most other scream places. I would come back again.
Super delicious! They have lots of different and unique ice cream flavors as well as shakes and other frozen treats. They also have a very large space for hanging out which is nice if you have a large group. Kind of pricey but the service and everything was great.
This small, unassuming ice cream shop has so much charm and some of the best ice cream ever. You can never lose with their staple brown, butter. But the true gems are their seasonal flavors. My new favorite is the campfire smores. The smoked black salt wasnt quite ready yet for our order but I will definitely be back to give that summer treat a try. What a true local gem we have in this ice cream shop.
We took the kids here the other night for the first time and it was really nice. The staff were super friendly and awesome and the ice cream was the perfect after dinner treat. The set up is pretty cool and I love the seating area. We will have to visit again soon!
This place was excellent! They had some awesome flavors. I decided to go with a traditional malt and I was blown away. The staff was very helpful. And friendly and they welcomed us as sun as we came in. I highly recommend this place if you are in the neighborhood as they make everything in house take pride in their product!
Bad service last time we were in. Both our items we ordered were poor.Only one size/price option for shakes. We were charged incorrectly and the service was so bad. Team members were talking to friends and amongst themselves the whole time. Made the order before ours wrong as well.Inconsistent between visits. Really upset with how this visit went and will not be going back.EDIT: after talking with the owner over email about or experience he wanted us to give them another shot. I brought my friends with me for some green tea ice cream and a PB shake. The team member up front was nice and helpful. The green tea ice cream was delightful.
Icecream made right on site. Had a really good flavor called Local Honey. Vanilla bean base with just the right amount of honey along with a couple honey candy pieces that sort of crunch and melt in your mouth. Honey is sourced from the coop nearby!
We discovered Go! Ice Cream one night when we were craving ice cream but didnt want the usual Dairy Queen. We are now loyal customers. The shop is a really awesome little spot and I love the artwork. The ice cream is the BOMB though, definitely recommend going in and sampling!
Fantastic spot to get something when in a rush. Their service is swift, prices are reasonable, great ambiance. Keep up the good work
No pictures...but a great gem that is hidden away. They have some outdoor benches and a front room for sitting. 5 flavor choices but a whip cream of the day. We had the Michigan Strawberry which wasnt as sweet as most strawberry ice cream but with plentiful chunks of berries. We also tried the coffee cookie which was a delicious coffee ice cream with chunks of sandwich cookies in it. Our last flavor was browned butter with caramel sauce which was deliciously salty and sweet. 1 scoops are generous sizing and it was a fun experience.
Super friendly and helpful staff. I dont remember their name but wished I did. They were super nice. The ice cream was amazing. I was so impressed. When in area Ill stop in again!
Its a very inventive little shop with rotating flavors. Even if you arent adventurous about flavors go try their chocolate! It Will set a new bar for ice cream for you!
The ice cream flavors are unique, but subtle. The local honey ice cream is quite good. They also had a brown butter Ice cream flavor when I was there. The chocolate sorbet was really delightful. The banana sundaes are really the reason to go though, as they brulee their bananas. It may not be the best ice cream in the county, but it is excellent, and far less busy than traveling to Ann Arbor.
Yum! The sweet brown butter ice cream is sweet! And buttery. And, brown, I guess. But delicious to the max. And I dont usually like waffle cones, but I got one here...WOW. And, it really adds a lot to be served by the owner (Chris, I think is is name). You can tell he is really passionate, and takes a lot of pride in what he does. And it shows, in his amazing final product.
Only thing better than the ice cream is the environment and staff! Such a cute, hole in the wall cranking out amazing ice cream in a genuine and inclusive atmosphere. Try the brûléed banana split! Y’all are the best
A great unique ice cream shop. Has an old timey feel with the bar stools, which is fun. They have additional seating in the back. Great and unique flavors like churned brown butter (amazing!), chocolate sorbet (rich and dense), and Curry ice cream. You wont get traditional flavors, but what they have is fantastic!
Fantastic flavors, though pricey. GO! never fails to impress me with their extraordinary flavors & friendly staff. Truly a memorable experience.
The staff were *very* happy to serve their customers, and their desserts were delicious. I tasted some of their gingerbread-egg nog ice cream as well as their cookies n cream shake, both of which stimulated my taste buds to a delicious degree. A small gem in the Ypsilanti area.
Go! Ice Cream has the friendliest staff youll ever find at an ice cream store. Theyre always happy to be there, and you feel like a known regular from your first time there. The ice cream is basic in terms of variety of flavors, but thats not a bad thing because they do it so well. Its really in the vein of old time ice cream stores: fun, friendly staff serving quality ice cream with a smile. Go get yourself a scoop or two, youll love it!
My wife and I have been frequenting Go Ice Cream since they opened and have never been disappointed with any of their offerings. Sweet Browned Butter is my go-to, but the Michigan Strawberry ice cream that they had for a short time blew my mind! Staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. Very glad they have the extra room down the hall for extra indoor seating.
Great service, decent ice cream, alright prices. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They do have. A unique range of flavors and choices. Ample seating as well.
The staff here are super friendly and seem to really enjoy working here, the ice cream flavors are on point, and the decor is fun and makes it a great place to enjoy your tasty treat. Highly recommend.
Best kept secret in Ypsilanti. Not many flavors to select from but they make them all from scratch. This is a blast from the past in a good way.
Me, my girlfriend, and our daughter had a truly fantastic time visiting Go! Ice Cream. The staff was extremely polite and helpful as well as courteous. Mr. Rob was a gentleman to my Ladies and truly a gracious host. We WILL be returning to this establishment. I also highly recommend any ice cream lover to go here and try their delicious ice cream!!!
Ive been a regular patron of Go! For the past year or so, and have always been incredibly impressed. Their team is made up of wonderful people who take pride in their work, and are always happy to be there. Everything Go! serves is a treat, from their excellent handmade vanilla ice cream and chocolate sorbet to their coolers with homemade soda and their pupsicles made of frozen broth and a dog treat for your four-legged pal. I love Go! and will continue to keep coming back.
What an awesome little place. The people are soooooo friendly and it was a pleasure listening to some Pokemon deep cuts while having some ice cream on community day for Pokemon Go.
Love this place! Takes local flavor literally with all sorts of amazing flavors inspired by Ypsilanti. Great partner with other local businesses. Try the honey comb or the scotch ice cream and you will be spoiled for life.
Great little place. Nice quality for a good price. Dont let the seemingly empty storefront fool you. They are off the alley and only the seating is at the storefront. They should probably move the ice cream counter to the storefront so they look open, but I love the old art deco tile floors.
Our new go to for ice cream; homemade ice cream served in a 50s theme but without the 50s bigotry. An awesome venue. Thoroughly enjoyed the side seating area and the strawberry ice cream is the best thing youll taste this week. We will be back!
I cannot say enough good things about this gem of Ypsilanti. They offer a variety of ice creams along with a fantastic non dairy chocolate. Great atmosphere and fantastic staff!!!
The brulee banana split is such a delicious twist on the split and the staff was a delight. They let you sample any flavor and their whipped topping is flavored and made right there which was a wonderful surprise.
A cute place, but small and sort of hidden. A nice rental spot for a kids party. The flavors were great (I had some coffee/cookie blend that was amazing). If youre an ice cream purist, beware, this is more like ice milk, but I loved it.
Best ice cream around. Creamy blueberry lemon curd was the right balance of sweet and tart. The staff is always fun and friendly. Great addition to downtown Ypsi!
Staff are super friendly, flavors and quality were great. Definitely worth a visit!
What a hidden gem! My family and I ran across this place while shopping downtown. The storefront was very well labelled which seems like an odd thing to note but I really dislike it when I cant find my way into a shop thats off the beaten track! Not only that, the service was fast and friendly and the ice cream was incredible! It tastes like real food, which is a major bonus. If youre in downtown Ypsi dont miss Go!
Old-timey ice cream that sells local and unusual flavor combos. The menu changes, so you can always get something new. I had the carrot cake ice cream - awesome!
Easily the best ice cream that you can get in Ypsilanti. I had my first experience yesterday (one scoop of vanilla and their sweetened browned butter with peanut butter sauce on top) and the ice cream was savory, thick and delicious.Im sad I didnt go here sooner, and will definitely be back in the summer months ahead. A gem that you must check out if youre in downtown Ypsilanti.
Awesome place to try unusual flavors. New stock all the time. Love it for a date or family treat!
Best vegan ice cream Ive had in my entire life...best desert Ive had! If you are in our near Ypsilanti, you need to check this place out. They only have a few flavors, but they are made in house and delicious. My wife tried the ice cream based flavors and loved them. I settled on the PB sorbet and it was amazing!
The best ice cream Ive ever had in Michigan. Go! Ice-cream, in fact, taste much much better than those three ice cream shops in Ann Arbor. I wish they would come to Ann Arbor soon! Also the atmosphere of the shop is very nice and welcoming. Its like the good old days of America is here.
Delicious handcrafted ice cream with rotating flavors. Staff was excellent, friendly, and funny! The carrot cake ice cream was amazing!!!
This is my new favorite ice cream spot! I love the classic ice cream parlor feel. They have the best waffle cones Ive ever had. I look forward to trying more flavors. I will definitely be back.
I went in for the first time today. I was thinking about getting a root beer float and was cheerily informed that it was National Root Beer Float Day, so I had to get it. They make the root beer as well as the ice cream, and this treat was delicious through and through. Will absolutely be going back! The service was wonderful and its a great place to watch ice cream being made.
Very friendly staff and good ice cream but they lost our order and several people that ordered after us were served first. Then after we told them our order a second time they messed up on one of the three items. They need to get better organized.
Fun little location in the revitalized downtown Ypsilanti. Awesome ice cream flavors and desserts. Very dog friendly too.
Awesome place and ice cream. The staff takes on the persona of the stores owner. Really friendly, and creative. Highly recommended!!
The most magical place on Earth.Every unicorn 🦄 endorses Go!After my first visit, my brain grew taste buds. Now I only want to shampoo with Go! ice cream. The genie that lives in the cooler grants a wish with every soda. The service counter is a window into the heart of the universe. The alley is guarded and enchanted by the spirits of past patrons of the local prohibition-era speakeasy.I need this in my life always.Your body will never be the same. Get it ready!
I love go! ice cream and never leave disappointed! Something magical and addictive about their curry ice cream. GF options available, and very satisfying!
Go! Ice Cream is my favorite ice cream place! I love their homemade flavors and the staff is super awesome. I had them come to my work for our pride celebration and they made special rainbow ice cream for us! This place is really a gem. Can’t say enough how much I adore Go! Ice Cream
I love the people who work at GO! The flavors of ice cream are also so fun and delicious. I really like how they rotate the flavors so we can try new things all the time.
Fun little ice cream place nestled behind the main drag in Ypsi. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. They have the best non-dairy chocolate sorbet ever - super rich and creamy! Also, lots of great ice cream flavors. A hidden gem!
Amazing, creative, one of a kind, a definite must before you pass from this Earth or you havent lived. Although I personally miss the 🍯 season ice cream flavor they had, I will simply hope for its return this upcoming season. Love love love!!!💝🍦🍧🍨
My favorite ice cream place. The local honey ic with peanut butter sauce is awesome and their cookies are incredible!
A favorite for many of my coworkers, but my wife and I just thought it was okay. The honey was my favorite, but the other flavors didnt seem special. Maybe Ill try again when the menu rotates next time.
Can’t stop talking about this place. Yes, there are only 3 ice cream flavors on the menu but they are the best 3 flavors! I ordered two scoops: vanilla and also sweet brown butter. The brown butter was delicious! I wish I had both scoops of just that. Go for the waffle cone upgrade, you won’t be disappointed. The cones were being made fresh on the spot and mine was still a little warm. Easily the best waffle cone I’ve ever had! Don’t just go for the fantastic ice cream; the atmosphere is fun as well with great music, great staff, and a cute classic decor inside. This is my favorite place for ice cream now in the Ypsi-Arbor area. So glad they opened!
Delicious Ice-cream I was shook ❤️ staff was so kind
I love their ice cream because it is so good! The owner Rob is the friendliest man in town and he has a great laugh! I just want to eat ice cream all day!
Havent been here yet. After reading the reviews it is something we HAVE to try. Even my parrot loves icecream.🙃
