The WORST service ever. I had Initially scheduled my appointment here due to great reviews. Dr. Matocha was okay but his staff made everything so much worse. Consult and exam went great but at the end, Dr. Matocha asked to see my previous prescription and I pulled up exactly what my other doctor had prescribed but apparently that was not good enough. He asked me to go home and confirm what was on my contacts box. I had asked him if it would take like a week to hear back from them and he told me it would just be a couple days to get the trial. I had called back the next day and called multiple times before getting any kind of response. About a week later I was finally contacted to pick up my trial contacts. After trying them out I decided to order some more. Unfortunately, I did order through them which was a HUGE mistake. After a month of waiting for the order to come in, I called to see when I should expect them. The receptionist stated that they had left me a message on April 8th. I didnt recall receiving a message so I checked my phone call log. I never even got a phone call from them! The receptionists there are unreliable and I guess lie? Either way I will never be going back and DO NOT RECOMMEND to anyone, especially if you have a high prescription or need one fast.

As always, no waiting to see Dr Matocha, staff was pleasant, knowledgeable & helpful, Covid practices for safety in place and recommendations fir eyecare were great!

We have been going to Ullman and Matocha for over 20 years, and are very pleased to have the consistency of the same optometrist, the high level of service and expertise. When I had an occular issue I was very grateful to have someone familiar whose advice and guidance was accurate and top notch. I appreciate being able to stop in to have glasses adjusted or repaired by courteous staff on the Island.

Dr. Matocha and his staff have taken care of my familys and my vision needs for many years. Their personal service cannot be any better. I highly recommend them to anyone for your eye care needs. We now live off the island, but the trip to Galveston is still worth it to get the care and attention they provide.

This place is AMAZING!!!! Im from out of town and lost my glasses in the ocean. I cant see beyond 2 feet without them. Thank God I found this place I had my glasses in less than 2 hours! Veronica is extremely helpful and they were all very friendly.

I’ve been going here for the last 4 years or so, and it’s always the best experience when I leave that office.The staff is super friendly, and Dr. Matocha is the best eye doctor I’ve ever had, and I say this because he actually cares and even goes as far to help you find the best design glasses for you! He actually picked out my last pair I purchased and it’s like he knew my style.If you want a comfortable, positive, and overall grand eye doctor experience, I recommend Dr. Matocha 150%.

I was new to the area and was starting things out on my own and I wasn’t sure about the insurance lingo and the front desk receptionist explained everything to me in detailed and helped me so much, she had so much patiences with me and taught me so much, she went above and beyond to help me get seen. Dr. Matocha exceeded my exceptions as an optometrist, he addressed all my concerns and he took such good care of my eyes when I had an infection and he conducted detailed follow up to make sure I was fully recuperate. I sincerely recommend their office.

Ive worn glasses for 50 years, and seen many optometrists over the years. As a recent Galveston resident I needed a new eye doctor. Friends suggested I try this practice, and wow!--the level of experience plus the amount of personal attention I received from everyone was outstanding.My eyeglass prescription is quite tricky, and not every lab can properly make my lenses. The staff here worked with the lab to ensure I got what I needed, and took time to confirm that I could see properly, even walking outside with me and asking me to read distant signs.In contrast to todays fast-food, low-interest & low-skill world, this practice is refreshingly competent & concerned.

Over 30 years ago I came to Dr. Matocha from another city (Houston). He analyzed my previous glasses prescription and my eyes, and gave my previous Dr. a big complement - that the other Dr. did an excellent job prescribing my particular lenses, and that my eyes had not changed much since the last exam/purchase. That sold me on their honesty and integrity. They are real people, and it is a joy to have these professionals (Drs. and staff) as my personal vision experts. Have since moved back to Houston but I still commute the 44 miles one-way for a yearly checkup. That should speak for itself!!!

The doctor is very friendly and helpful. I enjoy using this place for my eye care. / Great experience once again. My frames were bent and Im pretty sure they made them fit better than when I fist got them!

Dr. Ullman spent extra time to get both my contact and glasses prescription correct. The brand of contacts that I have used for 15 years did not work anymore and he was patient enough to try multiple brands. Office staff was great to verify the most current insurance, so my bill was covered. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Matocha was the ultimate professional. He preformed a comprehensive exam and provided me with much needed information.The staff in communication with the company that assembles glasses were less than optimal. I was told when I ordered my glasses they should arrive in 7-10 days. Well after waiting 3 weeks I was told they may arrive the middle of the following week. I ultimately had to cancel my order and go elsewhere.I feel that after notifying them that two weeks had already gone by, someone should have taken the initiative to get an immediate answer as to what was taking so long, and should have relayed that information to me in a timely fashion.I received a call at the beginning of week three at 4:45 to inform me of the problem.Not the customer service I would have liked

When I called the receptionist was so quick to say the business name I asked her to repeat it. I didnt know if I called the right place. She told me it was a bad line and I should call back. Basic customer service training tells me that asking a customer to call back without even trying to understand the question is poor by anyones standards. I asked if she really wanted me to call back and she slammed the phone down. I guess that answered the question. As for the quality of the business, I have no idea.
