The Dairy Queen on Walnut Street in Harrisburg was absolutely amazing! When a different Dairy Queen closer to me was unable to complete my order, I called the Walnut Street location and I was completely taken care of. Wendy in the cake department was fantastic and went above and beyond to make the perfect cake for my friend’s birthday. I will definitely be using this location for all my ice cream cakes moving forward. 10/10!

These guys are great! And they will fill orders upon request . Right now my favourite is the cherry dilly bar... So I call they make them as many as I want and I pick them up! Its wonderful . Absolutely great customer service!

Nice place, a little difficult to park(lines are hard to see...need to be repainted) but staff was great & friendly quick to get orders to us(even when busy) food was yummy & well done. Bathrooms were bad, smelly, dirty and definitely needed to be cleaned, but understood they were very busy.

We won’t go to this DQ location anymore because we can’t overlook the filthiness of the place. Many but not all of the employees are rude. We are shocked that the health department hasn’t shut it down. Desperately needs new management. They give DQ a bad name.

Well tonight I found out the difference between walnut and cameron st Dairy Queens. I miss the original owner from Steelton but I must say that they have quality compared to walnut. I had my boyfriend order his drumstick blizzard and my order was a misty freeze blue raspberry both medium. Well I got misty slush first then your employees had enough nerve to put a dollop of vanilla ice cream in it? Then my boyfriends blizzard was given to him with no lid on it but under it???? Cameron Street perfection. I got a misty freeze not a slush and my other half got a drumstick blizzard not melting with the lid on top...bad experience by my own home

I was very pleased. I was with one of our work consumers (who has mental handicaps) and the lady at the counter was extremely patient and willing to explain things. She didnt rush him at all. The place was very clean and easy to get to. I dont give many places five stars because there is always stuff that can be improved but the lady at the counter went above and beyond. Thank you!

This place isn’t too bad. Very time consuming, if you’re looking for a quick order and go, this isn’t the place for that. At all. Most employees are teenagers taking their job as a joke. They need to learn how to properly make ice cream, blizzards, sundae’s, etc. The manager is the best one there. Also, expect attitude from the employees, as they don’t know how to use manners kindly. Lastly, due to most employees being teens, they will decide to flirt with someone their age that also happens to be ordering ice cream, which can affect the way they make your ice cream, or take your order. In conclusion, please be careful, and look for either a male employee and an older employee if you want your order to be made well.

I never had a blizzard that wasnt mixed well. I had one here. I had a heath bar blizzard and everything was at the bottom with just the ice cream on the top. What went wrong?

Sloppy and a bunch of kids working or acting like it. Only the girl that took care of us was working while the other 3 or 2 were playing around.

Dissatisfied! Bought a medium vanilla cone dipped in dreamsicle. Gross!! The dip wasn’t as bright orange as advertised, it was light yellow and tasted like candle wax!! So disappointed because I like this location!

It was open for take out only, very clean and the employees were nice and very polite. I got a chocolate shake and it was very tasty. Nice and thick. Cant wait to go back there again very soon and more often.

Took my daughter there for her birthday-there was one person working there. We walked in and they were incredibly rude. We ordered a blizzard, and not only did they not turn it over, it was sloppily made- and melted all over her. It’s the middle of winter btw!

I have never been to a Dairy Queen before, but I was so hungry for ice cream tonight. As I was coming in there was a sign clearly displayed stating that masks were required for service. There was a large hand sanitizer clearly visible in front of the counter. The store was very clean. The young lady who waited on me was a joy. She wiped off the counter, the pin pad, and even the pen as I stepped up, took my order immediately and was so pleasant. I will come back.

Great service as always! Always happy to support our locally owned business, especially since a lot of thier business is fall sports, and school related activities.Thank you for helping us still being able to have a treat!

I have always enjoyed this Dairy Queen, however this time I was very disappointed. Despite gave a sign in the door that a mask is required for service, that apparently does not apply to serving. I saw 4 employees; one without a mask, one with a mask one, but the nose was uncovered and 2 who were wearing their mask with both mouth & nose uncovered. I also observed that no one was wearing any gloves yet one of the employees was placing some berries that spilled out of the container onto the counter back into the container. Having serious reservations about goin back to this location.

Management might want to keep closer eye on the employees....went over tonight (10/3/2020) and they were all closed up at 7:21 (looked like they had been for a while). Hours are until 8pm on Saturdays....guess they were slow and banked on no one coming so they decided to go home early.

This location is usually open until 9pm, but currently closes at 8pm, due to Corona.The staff/employees are great. Friendly, helpful, and make their products a decent size. However, the owner (We think he is the owner - the older gentleman with glasses) is STIIINGYYY! Not just on sizes - although he is with them, too - everything he makes is half again smaller than it should be/how the employees make it. And he cheaps out on ingredients to the point that a chocolate shake might as well be vanilla for as little chocolate syrup as he puts in, or sundae toppings are more of a garnish(?) Than an actual topping, as examples.Avoid giving him your order! Wait until someone else is available at the register, like we do on the few occassions we come here.

I love the employees here. They were very friendly & gave each of my kids their undivided attention on our 1st of many stops here.IF they get annoyed at my kids inability to decide what they want & the questions asked (there were a LOT) about each individual product they could get the employees never showed it. They answered all questions with a smile on their face.The place was clean, the food & drinks served quickly & were delicious.

Arrived at 8:53 tonight, and they close at 9. I only wanted two small blizzards. Young girl RAN out from behind counter jingling keys and stated they’re closed. Open sign was still lit, clock inside the store ready 8:55. She had a HUGE attitude and pulled out her cell phone to read the time - 8:56 at this point. Stated they needed to clean up. I said that when you’re open until 9, then you’re open until 9 and not 8:55. She then said it’s been a slow night. I replied that slow nights don’t change your opening hours. The other girl behind the counter was sweet, took my order and made it. I walked out of the store and was back in my car by 9:02. If she wouldn’t have argued with me, I would’ve been out before 9 anyway. There were two other customers who came to the door before 9, but she turned them away as she locked the door.This location continues to disappoint me every time we go. Music is always very loud, and lyrics are crazy inappropriate for a family ice cream shop. Staff is never the same, always seem to be moving so...incredibly...slow. Can’t find a phone number to actually talk to local management. Corporate doesn’t care. So disappointing because this place could be so wonderful.

I love this Dairy Queen. All the regular DQ treats served with a smile. Sometimes I cant resist getting a bag of Buster Bars. Had a triple berry cheese cake Blizzard the other night, which is my current all-time blizzard favorite (has real berries!).

This place is horrible! They call me 4 hours prior to pick up of my sons 6th birthday cake to tell me they are having a hard time getting the image we requested. Getting a full refund is not the answer I wanted. I needed the cake. They did something like this to my family 4 years ago. I decided to give them another chance. This time it warrants a bad review. Horrible customer service and planning!

This is hands down the worst Dairy Queen I have ever been to.The service is horrible... rude and the staff was so unwelcoming.All the African American women didnt seem to care about the quality of the icecream they served.My blizzard wasnt even mixed. it was all the toppings thrown at the top. I asked them to fix it and they just made another with all the topping at the bottom.Whoever is in charge...please fire those women and rehire some people who want to make the experience somewhat bearable, because this is hurting your brand.

Gone here several times on a number of different occasions. Good service, never had an issue. I rate 4 because theres always room for improvement

July 30, 2017 at 8pm my boyfriend and I went to get blizzards at this location and little Rico Suave at the counter was being a smart-ass when handing it to my bf playing games & pulling away when he went to grab it. There were only 4 people working and my bf was the only Caucasian person in the shop. Everyone else was black or Spanish including myself. This was NOT cool and we will not be returning any time soon.

They were closed at 8:20pm even though it says at 9 !

Extra large blizzards available

Bad location. Showed up with 3 kids and 2 adults. Got a dish, 2 blizzards, cone, and milkshake. It took about half an hour. The ice cream machine kept spiting out blasts of air with the product, causing the girls running the registers to laugh and cackle, but not do anything to weakly apologize to the forming line of customers. They joked and fulled around (one was texting) and didnt seem to understand why it was taking 10 min to get the amount of ice cream you would need in a cup to make a milkshake. Then a large gentleman, who had mobility issues, came out from the back. The machines (both?!?!) were out of ice cream mix. The two smaller women didnt seem to be trained on how one would reload so he had to do it, and this was not easy to watch. I just wanted to help out the poor guy.This place was a mess, would not come backBut the bathrooms seemed to be in decent shape

Very unhappy that 2 of 3 staff did not have masks, in spite of signs and all customers being masked . Told the 3rd about it, and that his mask should also be covering his nose, and he glanced at them and shrugged his shoulders.

It was the dirtiest place I have ever seen. You have a fine product but the man running the business was thinking only of money. He had a hand written paper on the door saying Cash Only. The kitchen,the floors the greasy windows I could not believe my eyes. Even the trash laying on parking lot made me sad.

Not good at all and I go here all the time. I understand the girl was in training, but I had to tell her my order three times, then again when she started to make them and she still almost got it wrong, no spoons, no napkins, didnt know what a carrier was. Of course, the owner is not one of my favorites. Sorry, because I love dairy queen.

Its ok

Ordered a blizzard cake from them. Not your typical birthday cake. We wanted a funny saying for my husbands last day at his job. It was supposed to read Youre dead to us. We hope you fail. It was repeated back to me accurately, and didnt think there would be a need to spell it out as they are all common English words. When I picked it up, the words were poorly spaced, some words crammed and others far apart. Some of the lettering was thick and some thin (clearly not purposefully done for fun emphasizing affect). When they asked me check it, it said Your dead to us. We you fail! Youre was spelled wrong and he totally missed the hope. As I said earlier, everything was unevenly spaced so when he went to correct it he attempted to put hope in a bigger opening, however it would have then read We you hope fail. If I would have had more time, I would have went to giant and bought a different cake. It looked like a 10 year old did it. To the point my husband was amazed when I said it came from dairy queen with such poor quality. The only reason 2 stars were given was bc the cake was delicious and they offered an EMS discount. (Not a I made an error discount, a discount I would have received either way...). If you decide to get a cake here, I hope you have better luck, but I will not be returning for a custom cake.

You cant really mess ice cream up too badly, but the service was poor and the building looks as dirty and run down as the man who just about pushed me out of the way to get to the door before I did.

Blizzards where delicious

The staff was not put off by the entire baseball team that walked in behind me. There were about 6 young people behind the counter and they were hustling. Its not much of a location, very small and some what untidy, but the treats are the same old DQ goodness you expect.

This location is dirty, all the time. Store needs a serious cleaning and face lift. Only gave three stars because I love their blizzards, but I would go to a different location next time.

The service isnt super fast but the ice cream is great and affordable.

Logan is the best!!! 5 stars just for him! I know the wait can seem long, but he does his best even when the store is understaffed and a wreck. Some of those other employees though...

Great service with a smile. Only open during warmer months and at some times of day can be a pain to get in and out of lot. Desserts only, no burgers or meals as at some DQs.
