After spending several thousand dollars on two high-lift garage doors from D&D, Im very disappointed that they arent willing to correct an installation mistake that was made by their part. When I initially requested a quote, D&D wasnt the cheapest but their sales team seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. I specifically requested high-lift doors with no/minimal ceiling track because I was planning to install overhead lighting and a car lift. I was told it wouldnt be a problem, but it would cost more and take longer to get that style of door and track. I paid the deposit and waited. After a few months of delays, D&D finally came to install the doors. Before the workers started, I noticed that they brought long pieces of ceiling track, and I pointed-out that they were given the wrong parts. They said short tracks probably werent in stock, but they would come back at a later date to swap the long track for short track. Their supervisor came the following day to finish setup of the door remotes, and said he would be happy to have someone come back to swap in the correct tracks. After he left, I noticed that the installers spilled dozens of sharp screws all over my garage and gravel car court. Fortunately, I noticed them before getting any flat tires, and I cleaned them up with a large magnet. So I called D&D to schedule the track swap-out, but was told there would be a service fee charge, plus an hourly rate and the cost of materials to have the fix completed. I pushed back and reminded them this was not a service call and that I was simply asking for them to fix their own mistake. I later got a call from their service department to schedule, so I thought they changed their minds and were going to fix their mistake.Their tech came out, but when he got there he immediately told me that he brought only an 8ft ladder which wont reach the 13ft ceilings, and that he didnt even have the correct parts. He called his supervisor and the three of us discussed that he would come back the following week. The day before the tech was supposed to come back, I got a call saying the appointment was being canceled because Senior Management does not authorize this repair. I asked to speak with whoever made that decision, and was told I would receive a callback which I never got.At this point, D&D is still refusing to fix their mistake. As a business owner, Im shocked and disappointed that a company would waste so much time (theirs and mine) vs. simply correcting their mistake, especially when the customer has paid-in-full.Hopefully someone higher-up at D&D sees this and decides to do the right thing and correct their mistake, however, based on other recent reviews from dissatisfied customers, it looks like this company is in dire need of new leadership.
Duane showed up on time and was very professional, courteous and knew exactly what was needed. He got the job done with no problems. Your Company should be proud of this employee. I will always call D And D for future service. Sincerely, Greg.
I’m disappointed in the service I have received. I run a commercial warehouse and our door was knocked off the track. There is a sticker on the roll door for 24 Hour Service. I called and was told no one would be out until Wednesday.. you can understand my confusion to why no one could be out here at 3:30 in the afternoon on a Friday. I understand it’s Memorial Day weekend but 24 hours means someone is on stand by. So I called back and spoke with Justin again to ask what “24 hour service” means and he asked me if it was there door. Of course it’s your door. Why would another company come in and put in a door and slap a competitors sticker on the track. Absolutely unbelievable. Please do not advertise you have 24 hour service when you truly don’t.
I purchased two door panels in May 2021 to replace two that had become damaged. I was told they found them in stock at another warehouse, that they put hands on them, could have them in a couple of days. I gave them about $300 to secure them. Days and weeks passed, messages not returned, they finally came out a few weeks later.. with the wrong door panels.. and then LEFT without saying a word. I called back, left messages, eventually got through to someone who said they would follow back up with me with some answers. They never did. 100 days later, they call me to schedule an installation, out of the blue.In summary, got the run around when calling the office, they never seemed to have answers, they never called back as promised, not a great experience. I know things are tough with the pandemic, but if you cant take 1-2 minutes to update your customer, even if you have hundreds of them, something else is wrong. I would highly discourage you from doing business with D&D
5 star. Great experience with this company! Luis arrived on time, installed the new door opener. He was very professional & polite. I am very happy with your service. Thank you
I have called to have issues with my garage door fixed. It was installed by another installer. They came and were very knowledgeable about all my needs. Even got rid of the squeak.. Polite and courteous. A special commendation to Trinity. She is fantastic.
Thank you so much for the great service today. We called this afternoon when a spring broke and our garage door wouldnt open. Both cars were trapped inside. A tech was in the area and said he would come over after his last appointment. He arrived after 5:00 and made the repairs. Fantastic customer service!
Wow! Thank you D & D Garage Doors for the fantastic service. They installed a Lift Master belt drive on my garage door and adjusted my springs and it works fantastic. They quoted me before they came out and that is what they charged me. The tech, Kris, was on time and was super nice. I appreciate Kriss expertise and urgency to get the job done right and quickly. He respected my time and did a quality job. I will recommend this company to my friends and family, in addition use for any future needs. Again, thank you D & D Garage Doors and a huge thank you to Kris!
The over the counter parts sales and support seems to lack any business drive. Also getting a return phone call is hit or miss. I waited for hours to get a call back so I drove in an observed and very laid back work environment (no overwhelming phones ringing or customers at the counter), sad. Actually twice after leaving a phone message I never got a call back for parts sales even after a week. Maybe they do not care for retail parts support/sales. I suggest just ordering repair parts over the internet from the gatehouse warehouse in California, faster service even though they are 3000 miles away. Im wondering if the company owner knows how much business he or she is missing out on with the way the employees respond.
I phoned D&D at 11.30am and my call was answered by Beth almost immediately. After I explained the the issue, she asked if she could put me on hold for 2 minutes - to see if she could could fit my job in the same day!The answer was YES and then I explained my friend would meet their technician at our place as I was over the pond in England and she took his details and my card details and confirmed a 3-5pm slot.I tried phoned my friend Ken to update him, but his cell phone was busy. When I called again a few minutes later, he told me that Beth had called him immediately to confirm the details - thats why I couldnt get through to him.Justin, their tech, arrived on time having already phoned Ken in advance to give an arrival time and fixed the problem and gave the door a service at the same time. The quoted cost? $99.00. The actual cost? $99.00!Great service from start to finish! Thank you Beth, you made a great first impression and your help and understanding of someone calling from thousands of miles away with an urgent issue was awesome. 5*s for the end to end service. Thank you!
Be prepared for multiple visits. I used them through Home Depot and my builder used them for my new home. In both instances, the job was not done properly the first time. They like to add plastic trim to hide flaws. In my prior home, it was about 4 visits before everything worked correctly. In my current home the door wont stay closed when using the opener. I had to pull the release to close the garage door so I dont get my stuff stolen. The door rolls smoothly until it is at about waist height. I then need to use a good amount of force to get it to close all the way. The belt on the opener was visibly sagging. A guy came to put trim up, because there was so much daylight visible when the door was closed. I mentioned the door not closing. He said I need to have the dap-out adjusted first. The door sits fine when shut all the way. It is just not installed properly so it requires more force than the opener is safely capable of to close. I will say they will come out as many times as it takes to fix the issue, but it would be nice to have it done properly the first time.
Great company to work with! Worked with them multiple times. As a single woman, you never know when someone is trying to sell you on something you dont need. Luckily, this is a company with a team who has integrity!
This is not a review but to send my symphony in the passing of your employee Ken Pittenger. He was a dedicated employee and was a great computer wiz!! I am sure he will be greatly missed.
You need to get a hold of the contractor Vaca Construction who built the home my son just purchased. Did Vaca Construction not pay you? My son closed on this property and moved in on May 7th. Today 6/4/2021 you send him (my son) a Notice to Owner about work performed. It is obvious that the work was completed prior to closing. What is your current relationship with this builder? I will revisit this review once this is corrected.
I called D & D garage doors at 1 pm today. I spoke with someone on the phone and he was very helpful and had an appointment scheduled right away for today around 4:30. Scott Williams arrived on time and diagnosed the issue very quickly. He informed me of the cost and the approximate time for the repair. Scott was very personable and professional and I am happy to say he repaired my garage door to working order very quickly. I would recommend D&D garage doors to all of my friends! Thank you for your prompt and pleasant service.John and Bekki
Got the job done. But left one problem which was not addressed.
Very responsive, quick and fairly priced. Wouldnt use anyone else!
Amber is amazing! Always willing to help and we are happy to be doing business with her!
From the moment I arrived at the showroom, until the installation was complete, Hands down great company to deal with. Professional, and Polite.
WORST COMPANY EVER TO DEAL WITH.. SO UNORGANIZED- NO CLUE HOW TO DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS OR RESPOND TO REQUESTS. YOU SPEAK WITH ONE PERSON THEN THE NEXT PERSON HAS NO CLUE WHAT THE OTHER WAS DOING.
I dont normally do reviews, but.. I called D and D Garage doors this morning because my garage door wasnt working, They set an appointment between 3:00 to 5:00 today. The technician (Jeyson) a very polite young man arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, replaced just the needed parts. All fixed! I used them about 10 years ago on a door problem at my other house. Would highly recommend them.
When I called to ask some questions about installing a new garage door. Keith was very knowledgeable and helpful. Had all the answers I needed.
I called this morning and spoke to a very nice girl Mel she was very helpful and helped me walked through to fix me door but the only thing that bothered me was she coughed on the phone she did apologize but with everything in the world going on you should not having people answer the phone who cough it will scare people. Obviously this company does not care when people are sick and Neighbor called in and had to talk to the same girl on Friday and she was still coughing and still sick so I believe that D and D does not care when people are sick
I called d&d to schedule an appointment to check my garage door because it’s making weird noises so they talk me for Tuesday between 2 to 4 and also I told them probably the spring is bad, they did all this houses when they was build . Technician showed and told me the spring needs replacement but he don’t have it in his truck, if the office did the homework and check what kind of spring they use when they did all this houses this can be done the same day. Also I told them the subdivision name where I live and also told them they did all the garage doors in here. So we make another schedule for 12 to 2 for Thursday, of course after 2 nobody was show,I call them and they said my schedule was for 1 to 3 and I told them was not true I made the schedule with the technician in my garage with the office in his cellphone with the speaker on, so I told them ok I wait, after 10 minutes they call me to tell me it’s going to be later because the technician is behind. I cancel the service at that moment it’s not fair and I waisted 2 days on this week and I can’t go to my work . Be aware it’s many companies out there that they are more happy to do business with you and I can guarantee it is going to be cheaper.
I called for a service call the lady that took my call was very pleasant and helpful. Scott came out and was very friendly and efficient. I had a great experience all around
This company is an absolute joke! I had scheduled an appointment for service on a residential gate opener, which I clearly explained to the person I initially spoke with. After waiting two hours, a service technician showed up and told me he wasn’t qualified to work on gate openers. He suggested I call the D & D office to reschedule. I called no less than four times and each time got a voice mailbox. I finally filled out their web form and was contacted a couple days later. The woman I spoke with scheduled an appointment for between 1-3 PM. At 3:45 PM, no one had shown. I called again and was told the technician couldn’t make the appointment today! Now, including an hour round trip to the home I care for, I’ve wasted almost six hours of my life. If I didn’t initiate that call I would have wasted even more time!I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy!
Made my replacement door springs on the spot. Priced at less than internet cost. The parts dept but had what I needed.
They never show up for my appointment and then rescheduled me for a week and 1/2 later knowing my car was stuck in the garage and the door spring was broken. Bad Service.
After 21 years the garage door opener D & D put in finally stopped working properly. (It certainly did not owe use anything !! LOL Our service technician Justin came out and immediately gave us a very fair quote for a replacement. His professionalism, demeanor and workmanship was absolutely five star. If we ever have a need for service from D & D I would have Justin back in a heartbeat !!! Thank you Justin and D & D---you said what you would do and you did what you said. Job well done !!!
I called for a service call, got a man on the phone Keith, I tried to ask him what could be wrong with my door and he would not even help me. He kept cutting me off and also was very disrespectful. I called this company sincemy neighbor uses this company.I was just so shocked on how I was treated, I will never call this company again. They need to learn better customer service.
Their the best, fast and the people that work for them its Pleasant to have them at your house
Wonderful folks. Roger was the best! Prompt, professional and speedy fast! Thank you Roger.
What a sorry no customer service company this is, called and left a message requesting a quote on a residential and commercial door replacement. Wasted three days waiting for anyone to call back before calling Banko Doors. Tom came out the next day a got what I needed ordered. I used D&D several years ago and they were good, but I would not recommend D&D ever again.
When our garage motor from the 80s burnt out, Craig diagnosed it and installed a new motor, wheels and keypad within less than 2 hours. His professionalism, knowledge and speed was incredibly impressive and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg!
I love D&D Garage Doors!!! Cindy is absolutely AWESOME!!!! They always show up before scheduled and their work is great!!! I manage a storage facility off Cattlemen and they always are my LIFESAVERS!!Max one of the techs is AWESOME TOO!!!!Thank you D&D!!!
We moved to Venice Florida 6 months ago and immediately discovered the garage door needed a new belt. We called D&D and they sent a technician the next day. He fixed it very quickly. A couple of weeks later the motor would turn, but not lift the door.We called again and a technician came the next day and replaced the gear that runs the belt. We are very satisfied with D&D and are now planning to call them to replace our garage door.
Great product but the woman at the parts department is very impatient and rude. She will ask you a measurement and then before you answer jump to the next question. She has the patience of a gnat both on the phone and in person.. seriously contemplating whether I want to buy parts from them or on line.
Called for a check of the wheels to ensure they did not need to be replaced.Girl at office stated someone would be over between 10 to 12 and guy would call before showing up.Well man came out at 9am and did not call before. He was rude and acted as if he did not want to be here.He was the same man who came out to replace spring on door a few years ago. He was not nice then, but we needed work done.He lubed wheels and shaft and charged $89.00.He said they do not print a receipt and would email us one.It has been 2 hours but still no receipt.Called office and spoke with a manager to complain and get a receipt sent out in the mail and gave him our email address to send us one that way also.Still no email receipt. We are done with this company and will never use them again.
If you want to speak to a very rude man who who will hang up on you when you politely ask for a quote then these cowboys are your go to company. Dont waste your time and go find a company who will value your business. These guys shouldnt be in business - they have a serious attitude problem. If i could give zero stars I would.
Bad experience; made appointment to install door on wensday morning did not show til Friday no pior notice then demanded remainder of payment from tenant. I ( land lord not there because no call or notice.) there had been two appointments and two no shows, one hour after installing door office called wanting payment very demanding .
Have always been very responsive and punctual on their projected appointment times. Service technician Craig B. Represents the company well and is very proficient, courteous and honest.
New garage door motor, outside keyPad and sensors installed on 6/4.Craig did excellent job.
Called for a new garage door, sales guy came out. Said he wasn’t allowed to give me a quote. He said the office would call with a quote. Well that was over a month ago...lol what type of company doesn’t allow a sales guy to give a quote...Door Depot came out the same day and gave me a quote before he left my property...Don’t waste your time calling D & D
Receptionist said they would be here between 10-2for our installation they showed up at 2:30. They werehere till 9:30pm. They didn’t have the right parts, leftthe garage a disaster. The supervisor came back out to install the right parts, and now a week later it’s notclosing right. They don’t return phone calls, this placeshouldn’t be in business. I have to have another company fix what they didn’t do!!
Quick response. Very professional. Timely. Great price to fix my garage door and broken belt. Highly recommended. Ty Chris (Technician)
Willie put in a new opener today, turns out he put in the old one back in 2003. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the install, the amazing features of the unit (WiFi at no charge monthly and battery backup. Also time and temp on the push button opener on the wall is very nice) but most importantly it’s QUIET ... willie did such a great job but I hope in 15 years when I’m due again he’s retired! Thanks Willie and D & D
Last week my garage door quit working, called D & D for sevice and the service rep came ontime but thats where everything goes down hill. Last year called for the same reason, it was $65 for service call and reset the circit board. This time it was $100 service call and said it needed a new circit board at $250 on a differend garage door than last year. He kept the supposed bad circit board, said it need to be rebuilt. I believe this is a scam process, beware... Also online the circit board is $106 new, I will never call them again.
We were so impressed with Jeremy Domingo. He showed up early. Handled the door repair professionally and efficiently. Going above and beyond by clearing the drywall that had fallen on the garage door track. We will be ordering a new door and motor, and we will definitely be calling D&D to install.
I Called in for a repair and had a technician (Craig Butler) on property within 2 hours of my request for services. Technician had the necessary parts on repair truck to replace my broken spring. He quoted me prior and quickly got to work fixing my issue. He then lubricated all garage doors and double checked them for proper operation and safety features in good working order. He also helped me reset outdoor keypad for new code. I was impressed with the customer service and efficiency of the transaction. I just want to say thank you and pass along my experience.
Thanks to Scott for his thinking through a solution. We have been leaving the garage door half opened to allow a breeze to come through. Scott suggested that was not good for the motor and suggested a screen door. Solve my problem, don t sell me a product has always been my motto and Scott exemplified this. In addition, Scott and others have been very helpful during their service calls.
My experience with D&D was excellent. My technician was on time (actually a bit early), quoted my spring replacement, had the parts with him, and also replaced my bottom door seal and retainer at my request. The work was excellent, the price was fair, and it all made for a wonderful experience. I will not hesitate to call D&D in the future for my garage door needs.
Worst company ever!!! Worst customer service I have ever seen!!! Do not use this company!!!! And sure you just stated as a reply you will work on customer service with the issue, but you also stated that same exact text to over 50 other customers, doesnt seem like anything is getting resolved. Best solution, hire NEW management as well as workers because this current service doesnt seem to be doing any better since this reply message is over 8 months now BEING EDITED AS OF TODAY, 12-21-18!!! Everyone reading this message, please seek other businesses for your garage door needs!!
I called several times to see about getting a door replaced at our business. No one ever called back and when I finally got to speak with someone he was such a jerk. Unhelpful, rude and unreliable. Thank God theyre not doing any work for me, if they were my employees they would be fired for their attitudes. This goes for all 3 people I dealt with. Call Southern Garage Door, they are polite, reasonable and reliable.
Kurt and Eddie just left after fixing one garage door and servicing all three. VERY prompt, thoughtful, hardworking and nice men. We have used D&D since they installed the doors 22 years ago and wouldnt think of going anywhere else. They came out in 24 hours of my service call. THANKS D & D!!!!!!!!!!
Great work from an honest company. Used them years ago in Venice and now today in Sarasota. Craig did a great job quickly to repair our non working garage door. Highly recommend this company.
They came to our home to maintain our garage, and install a keypad. Ive used them before, which why I recommend them. Very fair price.
Outstanding response time, service and pricing! Our garage door quit working and needed an expert. We called D & D and they were able to come out the very next day. They told me up front in the initial call what to expect for the service call fee and a few scenarios with pricing depending on the problem. The serviceman fixed the door (yay!) in no time at all and the bill was incredibly reasonable. Very happy customers!!! Thank you, D & D Garage Doors, for your fantastic customer service!
March 2016 -- Fast and Efficient -- Called one day, got a two hour window for service visit the very next day, was automatically quoted the charge for the visit and informed that only additional charges would be for parts. Technician arrived on time, did the job efficiently, answered all questions and was very personable. Parts were priced in advance of doing the work. Charges were as quoted. Cannot ask for a better response from any service company. Definitely recommend them.
Outstanding Service call by Jeff Giacomoni out of the Sarasota office. Excellent Customer Service. Adjusted the springs, looked everything over and adjusted where needed. Garage door was very noisy prior to this service, now my door works like new. Thanks Jeff!
We had two new garage doors installed today by Nick. He arrived on time with everything needed to do the job and got right to work. The job was completed professionally and quickly with a focus on getting it right and making sure everything operated perfectly. All of the trash and debris were removed and he left the job site completely clean - better than it was when he got here! Upon completing the installation he reviewed everything with me, scheduled the inspection and made sure I was happy with how it all turned out. Having over 700 technicians in the company I work for, I could only hope they would follow the close process as well as Nick did. Ill definitely be calling D&D back for any other garage needs. Thank you!!
I have been trying for weeks to get a quote out of this company. Michelle seemed to be helpful, but passed us along to Tom who is impossible to reach via the office or his cell phone. We were told to text him all of our information and did, only to receive no responses. Had an appointment scheduled, which took multiple calls, and he never showed. I’ve never had to work so hard to try to give someone my business. As an owner of a contracting company, I understand the industry is very busy right now, but it seems that D & D is very poorly managed.
The spring broke on our 2 car garage door. There was a D and D sticker on the door from the previous owners. Called them at 7:30. Justin was here within about an hours time. Polite and professional. Fixed what needed to be fixed. I have worked in high end customer service for 30 years and am not easily impressed. These folks are impressive!
I had an installation scheduled for 11/21 which was only 2 days after I originally called in. I received a call from Jeremy on 11/20 that he was in my neighborhood and that he could take care of the install 1 day sooner. He was at my home within minutes. He was very professional and informative during the install. He spent a few minutes to show me how to operate my new unit, set up the wi fi connection, and my vehicle set up. I will be sure to recommend D and D Garage Doors. Thank you for the awesome job!
4/2/2015 - TJ arrived as scheduled. He replaced 13 year old garage door springs in a professional and timely manner. Needed parts were already on his truck and the cost for replacement was significantly lower than a quote I received from another company. I highly recommend this company.Thank You
I have had D & D to my home 3 times (not their fault--old system). Every technician who came to the house was polite and respectful. All 3 bills were reasonable. I would not even consider calling anyone else.
Great garage door service!
Stopped in about 8 am on a Thursday and my new garage door opener was installed by noon. Amiable and capable technician. Good value.
We have been having a problem with our garage door since July. This is the company who installed the door when our home was built. It bracket ripped off the door and was in need of repair. We then found out our spring was broken and have been trying to schedule an appointment. Keith is incredibly rude. Basically do you want to be added to the schedule or not was his statement. Customer service is EVERYTHING and they don’t have it. I was trying to explain that I had called last week to schedule appointment and called again this week to schedule an appointment but he did not care. The woman I spoke with two days ago was decent except she said I’ll call you right back and never did!Steve is great. I have to adjust my review but only because of Steve!!!
Wonderful service and very knowledgeable. Franco was awesome. He was on time and very courteous. I will definitely be using them again. Thank you for great service.
This review is for D&Ds customer service. Our spring broke on Wednesday and we originally called the company that has always worked on our garage door (including replacing the springs 4 years ago) - D&D Garage Doors. They made an appointment with us to come on Thursday between 2:00 and 4:00. My husband stayed home to meet the D&D person. However, after 4:00, he called them about appointment and they said the repair persons car broke down -- really, you couldnt call us and let us know??? So, they rescheduled the appointment for Friday between 1:00 and 3:00. The guy shows up at 2:45, looks at the spring and says, Oh, I dont have any more of those today. I guess we drew the short end of the stick because they rescheduled us to later in the day. He called Justin and asked him if he could stop by on his way and do our job, but he said no. They rescheduled us until Monday. Well, we live through our garage -- to go in and out of the house, baseball, bikes, etc -- such a pain and difficult to carry everything through the house and out the front door! Also, our garage door is super heavy and it is almost impossible to lift even with our whole family trying! We ended up calling West Florida Overhead Doors after the D&D person left. Their repairman was in Apollo Beach at the time, but agreed to come by as soon as he could. He did and was able to repair our garage that night and had great customer service!!
Called the other night for emergency services three calls to the answering service 1.5 hours later still no call horrible people
This company was subcontracted through Home Depot. I paid for everything up front and didnt receive a door until 5 weeks later. They are a pain to get a hold of and will not return your phone calls to set up installation date. The installers did a fine job and were not rude. However, they did leave the job site with debris everywhere. Once inspection time came an extremely rude and disrespectful man from D&D called yelling at me because I was not home... Which I was 5 minutes away. I will not be recommending this company or using them for any of my other properties.
So far so good! We ordered 7 garage doors from D & D for our home.. and Michelle LoCastro couldnt be more helpful! I visited her at the office and brought her pics of our house and she helped me to choose a good color and hardware for our new doors. Also Tom Ernst came out to our home before my meeting with Michelle and took pictures of our present doors so that they could send a computer rendering of what the new doors would look like. He had many samples to show us and was very professional and courteous. Thanks for all your help Tom and Michelle! Cant wait to see the doors after install!!
The garage door went on the fritz last night. I sent in a email repair request last night and at 8:04am the next morning I received a call from the office to schedule the repair which was 1p-3p window of the same day. Dave, the repair tech, was on time @ 1p! His assessment of the repair was quick. The opener needed a new belt which he informed me had a lifetime warranty. He lubricated the door glides and springs. His actual repair time was aprox 15 min. In total he spent about 30 minutes. A total WOW experience! Many thxmk
Ole lady works there. Elizabeth gibson
Called on a Wednesday for a broken commercial door. Asked if it could be repaired by the end of the week woman said no problem she would have someone out same day. Needless to say no one showed up. Called again Thursday and explained again I need the door fixed before the weekend on my building. Explained clearly it is a 8X8 commercial door and i just need it to be fixed so it can open strait up against a 24 steel building wall. Woman apologized and said someone would be out between 2-4pm that day. 1PM i got a call said a tech was in the area to look at it, was very happy to hear this. Tech shows up at the building, looks at it and tells me hes not the commercial guy and his ladder is only 6 tall and he would have to get the commercial guy to come out by the end of the day to look at it. Also told me their tablets they use for appointments were not working so he would call it in. End of day on Thursday no one came out. Called first thing Friday was told someone would be out to look at it again, then asked if it could be fixed same day, was told it could not. Wasted 3 days of my time i could have had someone else come out to fix it. Called Door Depot in Venice and a gentleman was at my door in less than an hour to look at everything. Dont call these people its a waist of time, if i did that to my customers Id be out of business.
AJ did an awesome job on my new garage door opener installation. He was fast and efficient, highly recommended!
Our garage door opener blew 6 bulbs over the last couple of months. Jeff from D&D had to come out a couple of times as the problem was not readily apparent. He explained everything he was doing and as promised we were only charged the one time trip charge. I would recommend D&D Garage Doors.
Called these folks because they served the villa we rented before buying, and saw they had previously serviced our newly purchased home. Garage door remote wasnt working properly. They saw the problem immediately, nothing they could do about it but pointed us in the right direction and voila, they were spot on resolving the issue. PLUS No charge for the service call. This is how you build your customer base because one day that garage door will need to be replaced and we will definitely call on D&D. WTG guys.
Kurt was able to help get my garage door fixed even though I was in a big bind
I made an appointment with D&D to have someone come out and examine my garage door. I set the appointment up for a timeframe of 4-5pm and coordinated this with my tenants. The technician showed up 30 minutes early (at 3:30) and did not want to wait for my tenants to arrive so he left and told me I would need to call the office to reschedule. I called the office, spoke to the manager, and explained that I my tenants were expecting him at 4pm. He told me that the technician had to leave for another job so I would need to reschedule my appointment. The bottom line is that if you value customer service, I would look at another company. If they cant honor a simple appointment window, that should speak volumes about the quality of service they provide. Look elsewhere!
I just had Franco replace broken spring. A great technician and a nice guy. I was completely satisfied with the work and the price.Don Berk

Rude, Worst Customer ServiceHired Sarasota D&D Garage Doors on recommendation of our GC. Appt to get bid went fine. Took 6 weeks to get permit from Manatee County. When I called D&D I was told that I had to call the county to check on the status. Finally a permit issued after my husband found out that the County had NOT received some required paperwork from D&D. Melissa/Misty at D&D brushed this off saying they had sent email to Dallas to execute the document. The document was resent to Dallas and he/she finally executed. Once permit was issued we were told D&D was booked for following week so had to wait yet another week. Was told installers would be there between 7:30 & 8 AM. They arrived at 7:50, my crew was minutes behind. D&D left -- did not attempt to call me, nothing. Just left!!After talking with scheduling people was told their crew could not wait, they had to go to a new construction installation. It would be another 10 days to reschedule. The day finally arrives, we are on job site at 7:10 for a promised 7:30-8 arrival. It is now 8:20 and the crew is just arriving. I called the office and was put through to vm. I called back and was told unfortunately they are not at their desks now, a vm is all you can do. I pressed that unfortunately their crew was supposed to arrive 7:30-8 and no one was here at 8:10 The receptionist pulled up account and said, they are coming from Fruitville in Sarasota they probably ran into traffic. The crew finally arrived at 8:20.This is unacceptable customer service, unacceptable professional behavior. I am beyond frustrated. My GC attempted to contact D&D since they had recommended D&D and had used D&D for years. They were unable to get through nor did they receive a call back.I will never use D&D Garage Doors for my flip business. I will make sure anyone who asks for a recommendation knows how unprofessional D&D Garage Doors is.Buyer be ware -- a good bid does not equal a pleasant experience nor does it equal professional customer service.Lesson learned.
We had our garage door spring break on a Friday afternoon, We called for service they had a tech out with in a hour, Willie had us up and running with in a hour in half replaced both springs, BEST part was his knowledge and NO high pressure sales.NEVER will call anyone elseSEMPER FI
The staff must be overworked, they did not listen to me on the phone, and were so confrontational I felt like I had to fight with them to try and set up an appointment. VERY DISAPPOINTING! They were recommended by a friend. Maybe I didnt sound enough like a local for them?
Had a tech come out to get an estimate for my door; week and a half and 4 calls to the office later, Im told that someone needs to come out again because no one took pictures. After the second visit, I was told I would probably need a whole new door and when I asked about the price, the receptionist (Im assuming, her name was Kim) responded with Youre not responsible for the bill, are you? (Im a renter, so the landlord pays, but that doesnt mean they need an unnecessary repair cost). She couldnt give a ballpark price because someone had to come out AGAIN to take measurements! Three visits for an estimate! When the third guy came, he told me itd be roughly $650-800 for an entire new door. Called a different company for a new estimate, they fixed my door on the spot, within an hour. Not impressed in the least, seem sketchy and like they want to rip you off. Im usually not one to leave negative reviews, but this experience was purely terrible.
Excellent service. Good price.
I had an issue with my garage door and was referred to D & D Garage Doors by my sister and brother-in-law. I have to say THANKS to them for their quick response time. They were out the same day, in fact arrived a few minutes before scheduled appt. That was just great to me ... since I couldnt get my vehicle out of the garage ... lol. The tech that came to my house was very knowledgable and had a great people personality. I felt like the charges were great with todays economy. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone needing garage doors and/or repairs. MANY THANKS D & D GARAGE!!
Asked about garage door venting, person on phone unaware of such a thing.....then hung up....looking elsewhere!

Broken spring. Willie showed up at the beginning of the appointment window. Did his job and left. Uneventful, the way it should be.
Needed help with garage parts and they sent tech out no charge and told me what I needed. I picked up and was charged less for parts than others to just come out
