Blackbird is super charming. Built in an old patio plaza, this cozy coffee shop feels like it could belong in Seattle. The coffee was very good, and their menu was quite large for such a small shop. The service was friendly, and the vibe was chill. I could see this being a regular stop when visiting Old Town. I would give 4.5 stars if that were an option. Blackbird was very good, but I think 5 stars should be reserved for perfection.
Had a nice leisurely breakfast. We had the roadrunner, the desert willow, a french taco, and the blueberry cheese croissant. The drinks were smooth. You could taste the unique flavors of the drinks, but they werent overpowering. The french taco had a very flavorful, savory filling with a fluffy pastry shell. The blueberry cheese croissant had the cheese and blueberry fillings divided, so it was easy to get a bite of one vs the other. The pastry was very fluffy with a light crispiness, and it was sweet but not cloyingly so.We sat outside to enjoy the fountain, birds, and flowers. It was a very relaxing morning.
This little nook of a coffee shop stole my wife and I’s heart. Yes, it sounds dramatic, but there is a romanticism that this little coffee shop holds. The decorations and art were amazing. The atmosphere was very welcoming and I could have stayed all day. The staff was sweet and helpful. The drinks were extremely creative and all sounded appetizing. I got the Black Bird Iced Latte which had Espresso, Red Chile, and Cocoa. The first sip was great but also very interesting. It took a couple sips for my taste buds to adapt and then after that, it was amazing. Espresso taste still present with the perfect amount of sweetness and spice. One of my favorite coffees I have had to date. My wife got the Roadrunner which she says is one of her favorites she has had as well. I definitely recommend this place and wish I lived closer. Great experience.
This place was absolutely adorable. I like trying coffee places in towns Ive never been to. Its all Crow/Raven themed and desert themed. The drink I got was the Bison (iced) and it was full of flavor. Its inside a small courtyard with a fountain and lots of art galleries and mom n pop shops. I recommend both the raspberry tartlet and green chile quiche. My husband cant have caffine and they were willing to make him essentially a blood orange fog.
A very nice coffee shop tucked away in the old town plaza. The coffee is great and the little bites to eat are pretty good as well. Nestled in a little court yard thats dog friendly and has beautiful flowers and a water feature. A great space to get away and work outside while enjoying a cup of joe.
Tasty drinks! ☕ The jackrabbit latte was great! Polite staff. Small indoor area with a large, beautiful courtyard. Plenty of outdoor seating. Fountains and flowers 💐 create a romantic setting for a simple date or outing.
We stopped in today while wandering Old Town on our long trek home to LA. The people were super friendly and the coffee drinks we got were done perfectly. We enjoyed our drinks and the chill atmosphere here. We even bought a sticker to remember it.
Love this little coffee shop. What a delightful little place. The staff were all very friendly. I purchased a blueberry scone and a hot apple cider drink. They were both delicious. There is seating inside but also a fun little courtyard with several table & chairs throughout so you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air
Super cute place and really nice staff. But honestly when you pay $8 for a slice of quiche, you expect it to be the best in the world and it tasted like a flavorless 3-day old quiche. Coffee was good (though cappuccino is super strong, consider a latte if you’re not into that.
Outdoor setting was delightful with so many flowers and bird feeders and a water feature. The coffee was super smooth, plenty of flavors and milk choices. The chocolate croissant was one of the biggest and most chocolate ones Ive ever had. The French meat filled pastry thing was really delicious. My dog enjoyed the patio seating and being able to come in with us to place our order. One bad thing is no public restrooms and the public restrooms down the street were closed I assume because of COVID.
Blackbirds has been my favorite for a long time now, and Im so glad they weathered the shutdown. Their eponymous drink, The Blackbird (espresso, steamed milk, dark chocolate, red chile) is the best thing ever. Plus its a nice location and they have great t-shirts and mugs for sale. Love it! 😍
Very good. The tea i got was good quality and tasty. If I lived here, Id love to come here every day. Would be a great quick breakfast place.
Amazing coffee flavor combinations Id never think of! Also quality beans are used and the staff is really friendly!
This is by far my favorite coffee place in Albuquerque. The taste is absolutely fantastic in the basic coffees and in their more specialized ones. The atmosphere is adorably charming, but at times the barista can be a bit short.
Courtyard was pretty. Food and coffee were good. During busy hours not enough seating available.
Such a cool spot. Fantastic atmosphere hanging out on the patio. The sole person working the shop was so friendly and got our drinks out quick despite the place being busy for a Tuesday morning.
Beautiful patio to enjoy yummy coffee and pastries. The coffee is delicious, but a little pricey for sure. The chocolate Croissant is amazing too!
The jack rabbit was absolutely delicious, lavender on your drink? What the... So good.
Great coffee! Blackbird Latte is fantastic and the Sandia energy drink is refreshing
Great coffee, delicious pastries, friendly baristas, and fun decor. The courtyard is gorgeous and the perfect place to sit and drink your coffee!
In the best way possible, this feels like going to a friend’s basement for coffee. This is a nice little coffee shop that’s hidden away, but well worth visiting. The patio area is nice and in the atmosphere is very welcoming. My only complaint is that the pastries are a bit expensive, around 8 or 9 dollars. Otherwise, great place!
Super cute outdoor garden and great drinks. Tried an iced coffee with cinnamon, chili and a prickly pear flavored spritzer. Both were really tasty!
Magical surroundings and wonderful coffee selection. A hidden jewel.
This is my 3rd time visiting Albuquerque and EVERY time I pass by this place. The coffee is great and the atmosphere is hard to beat. Today was the first time I’ve gone during COVID, but not much was different besides seating. This place is dog-loving and the baristas are hard to beat! 10/10 recommend
Blackbird coffee house is nestled in the corner of Santa Fe and its really not the kind of place that demands attention. Its a low-key place with a ton of personality. Small details like the type of mug to the decor to the couches has personality. I had a very quick visit in because I was in there to grab a cup of coffee. I had their house coffee which was really nice and I absolutely loved their milk jug - shaped like a bird and fitting the name and theme. Service was quick and there was a line after me and I noticed the servers were patient. Overall, nice place, nice service and nice coffee. Really cannot go wrong
Tasty sodas and delicious cherry pastry. The puppy loved the free puppucinno -- whipped cream with a dog biscuit. Comfortable, shady courtyard.
Stopped at this coffee shop while touring the town. we found it by mistake as we were shopping for souvenirs. The place was located by an a little alley that had more stores as you keep walking. The courtyard was very pretty full of flowers, plants and cactus. They also had small tables where you can sit drink coffee and enjoy the scenery.
Another Reason to Visit the Old Town PlazaWho doesnt love a good cup of coffee? On my most recent trip to the area, I found BlackBird Coffee House, completely by fluke. I was staying at the El Vado Motel right down the road and it just happened so that their on-site coffee shop had recently departed the Food Pod area. I was left with in-room coffee, which was okay but needing my daily Red-eye, I had to make a trip to a local Starbucks. When I got back to my room I googled local independent coffee shops and saw that the BlackBird was located at my next destination, the Old Town Plaza. The Blackbird is a quaint little coffee shop located in an alleyway just off the Plaza at Old Town Plaza. They use organic coffees and make classic coffee variations, and their own BlackBird featured coffee creations as well. There is seating inside the BlackBird and outside in the alleyway, I took my coffee to the Plaza and enjoyed while I was exploring. The Shop is on the smaller side but has enough room for souvenirs, and coffee displays and they also have free wifi onsite. My coffee that day was the Honey-Bear, made with a dash of honey, cinnamon and milk. It was a nice coffee. The back of the Coffee Shop has a large mural on the wall of well, you guessed it...a BlackBird. Overall this is a great little coffee shop and a great addition to the Old Town Plaza. If youre ever at the Plaza for a visit and need a coffee you know where to go.
Super nice folks, good tea and Expresso. Tasty baked goods.
Great peach iced tea, beautiful lattes!! 😍. Mt cousin loved her latte!!
An absolute must visit in Old town Albuquerque. Of all of the coffee shops Ive visited in this state, this place is simply the best. The owner and her staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. Their signature lattes are phenomenal. Ive tried them all. My job requires me to travel to this state periodically and my first stop is always this coffee shop. You will not be disappointed.
Really cute coffee shop in Old Town! We enjoyed the coffee and their sodas.
THE CUTEST little coffee shop. If you love coffee shop vibes, this is for you. Coffee was fabulous, surround area topped the experience!
I love this place. The coffee is so delicious and intense with flavor. I also had their pastries and my tummy was pretty happy with me afterwards.
I love this place. Eclectic like me! Brought family visiting from out of town here and loved it so much they crave it daily
Wow red chili in coffee!!!! Delicious!!! Ive been craving it ever since!!
Dont pass up this fun little coffee shop tucked away in a courtyard in the southeast part of Old Town. The hot chocolate and coffee drinks are expertly crafted and delicious. Perfect for sipping while walking around this historic part of town. Try the Roadrunner Latte - hot or cold - for a special treat!
This place has delicious speciality lattes and a very friendly staff. We went three times while visiting the area!
The roadrunner coffee was awesome! super delicious, and absolutely adorable!
Pretty goodI got a desert willow iced tea and it was amazing
$8 for a tiny piece of quiche that is falling apart? I dont think so
Very cool pave. Love old town. Great coffee.
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere in the middle of old town. Grab a coffee to go hot or cold or sit and stay awhile.
Amazing cappuccino and creative coffee combinations. Highly recommended place with a great vibe.
Quaint and cute coffee shop in Old Town. They have outdoor seating in a nice courtyard where you can enjoy your drink peacefully :)
Great drinks with an atmosphere that takes you into a unique Cafe!
Incredible the sound of the Church Bells ringing was so satisfying. What a wonderful small town feel .
Great coffee shop with top-notch baristas. Their holiday drinks are very tasty and the pastry selections are excellent.
The best! Great staff, drinks filled with love. The courtyard is lovely and historic.
Had the green chili quiche, very good. Cinnamon roll tasty as well. Chai latte had a good taste. Friendly staff
I wish we lived closer so I could grab a coffee here every morning! The employees are super nice and helpful when it comes to suggesting items off the menu :)
Got there about one, it wasnt busy. Next time Ill be back with my friends. The place has an awesome atmosphere.
One of the best coffees Ive had. The Honey Bear!!
Drinks are very delicious! Love the bison drink
Lovely shop. Great coffee and delicious treats.
Nice and professional employees,
This place is a lot of fun. The staff is friendly, and every drink is well made! Plus the patio seating is GORGEOUS. Its definitely slower service because the shop is busy and only a few workers, but that has never bothered me because it means my drink wasnt rushed. Just worth mentioning if youre on a time constraint.
Absolutely love the Blackbird coffee! A New Mexico original!
Amazing outdoor seating arrangement with a great view! Hot chocolate is great, not very sweet.
This place is great! I work in Old Town and its hard not to stop in here every day. Friendly staff and great drinks!
Really charming spot in the best little placita in Old Town. Unique specialty espresso drinks that include adding red chile to a café latte thats surprisingly good. On the pricey side though.
So cute and very cozy :)
The coffee was rich and delicious and was served very quickly oncebthebcointer had cleared of the admittedly massive order ahead of me. The shop itself is cute and quaint with a decent amount of seating and a fantastic atmosphere. About the only improvement I could recommend would be more space and/or organization for the order lone, but otherwise everything about this place was pure gold.
