I ordered a cake for my daughter’s first birthday and was in tears at how awful it was. It looked cheap even after the decorator tried to fix it. The girl at the counter said, “Maybe it was too much since you ordered a cake and cupcakes.” I called with a complaint the first time and said I was on a call back with the manager. Manager finally called me the next day and was very passive saying the owner would call me. I have not heard back and it’s been over a week. I asked for the Disney castle on this watercolor background. The background was beautiful but everything else looked like they just didn’t care. I’m highly disappointed with the lack of concern. I have had my UNM graduation cake from here and various other types of birthday cakes here but this is not okay, not only was the cake a disappointment but to get pretty much get forgotten as well.

I ordered a cake to celebrate a birthday, the person who received the order was not the nicest person, just very quiet, but not disrespectful. She asked me for the photograph of what I wanted, I sent it by email, they had the cake at the agreed time and definitely when I picked it up it was what we imagined, the person who gave it to me was very kind. We loved it and the taste was delicious.

This shop is adorable! Looks super small from the outside but quite roomy inside. Their display cases are beautiful and show off their products beautifully. The staff is super attentive and eager to assist you. I appreciate their protection measures in place at this time as well, limiting customers in side, requiring masks, and offer curbside pickup also. So happy we got our pie this year from them, and couldnt help but pick up a few of their other yummy treats!

$35 for a dozen cupcakes that were as good as cupcakes at any supermarket. Meaning not so good.There are way better choices in Albuquerque. Wish I would have availed myself of them.Edit: As a reviewer, there is no way to reply to the response from the owner. So Im editing my review to answer.The person who purchased the cupcakes was Cindy Osmanski. There was no order, she simply walked in and purchased the cupcakes at the counter. Now that you know this information, are you going to change your price for a dozen mediocre cupcakes? Maybe re-work your recipes? Or maybe a refund?Ultimately, it doesnt really matter. Im just letting the public know that you are way overpriced and the product is lackluster.

We came into town to share my granddaughter’s birthday with her. She was very specific with her request I sent an email after talking with a very nice lady with pictures. She called me very soon after to tell me they could do it and gave me a price. I called on Friday for it to be ready for the following Wednesday. Cake was beautiful and just like the pictures I sent and it was absolutely delicious. My daughter had just moved there and said she will be back.I appreciate these people.

I will forever heart the angel cat cakes. Theyre my favorite and I missed them when there was a white chocolate shortage. So glad theyre back.

We have had several special order cakes from ABC over the years. Each time, the cake has be delicious and beautifully decorated. Cake is always moist and so good. We have tried other places, but we go back to ABC each time. Our latest cake was for a 21st birthday.....almond cake, cream cheese filling, butter cream icing. Excellent! The staff is always helpful and friendly....and knowledge about suggestions. Thank you, ABC!

I bought 2 dozen of the butterwreath cookies and they were all flat and burnt. I complained to the store however I will not buy from them again we wait every year for these cookies and I am extremely disappointed in them. I just wanted the store to know that if they are at the end of the day with the batches of the cookies you might want to check the product but it was definitely not worth the $18.61 that I paid.

So I placed an order thinking that the bakers would somewhat satisfying my needs are in a cake when it comes to decorating as I was hoping but nope! Came in today to pick up my cake & it was just a plain old cake with simple frosting on it. Now I did specifically asked for the bakers to surprise me and I am not satisfied when I did make a note of this to the guy whom took down my order!

Horrible customer service lead me to believe they could make my sons cake after 2 weeks of back and forth via I finally decided to call. In explaining my ordered no one could help me and then to top if off while I was in mid sentence the last lady hung up on me. Way to represent Albuquerque, Ive been a proud customer for many years but this is the final straw ABC cake is no longer receiving my business.

Always very clean and efficient. There us a limit 5 guests at a time so please consider that when you go. The prices are reasonable and the cakes are always worth it. They were fairly busy so please give yourself sufficient time. Ordering couple days in advance is advisable.

ABCs website and email signature clearly indicate needing 48 hours for a custom cake. I emailed them a picture of a cake for my daughters birthday party 6 days in advance, and was told they could not accommodate my request. I tried emailing and calling to see if I could modify the original cake to something they had time to make, and I couldnt get anyone to talk to me for 2 days - they would only email me back. I gave them a picture of a simple cake, and was quoted over $200 for a buttercream cake and hardly any designs. It was pretty clear they did not want to make a cake for my order. I will never order from ABC bakery again.

When I moved here 2 years ago they were very nice to me. This time just looked at me like I was going to blow the place up. Im not sure if the workers or new, but I wont be returning. I noticed when they were helping certain people they greeted them nicely. Not sure if they are use to blacks coming in there. 👍

Can’t believe how expensive this place is. Not that the cake was bad, it was simple and tasted good. But there was nothing above average to stick out, or make it a “dam that’s a good cake” and for the price they charge, I’d think there would be something more than a basic kind of cake.

First cake we got was our wedding cake. It was incredible. My wife to be kind on my birthday called and asked for the same exact cake from our wedding. They gave us something entirely different and dismissed and were rude to us when we pointed out what a bad job they did. And the cake was $100 for a 12”, 2 layer cake. For that amount it should be perfect. The cake was stale. The filling was bland and absolutely different than the first. The frosting had terrible decoration that looked nothing like the picture we gave. Heartbroken and disappointed, but since they were rude to us we will never go back.

I had ordered a cake for my sons 2nd birthday. Did not want anything special,but ABC cake made it a very special cake! I was amazed by everything they did to the cake! I asked for it to be not too sweet as well and the cake was just perfect. I now know where to get my cakes and other sweets from! Thank you to everyone that works at ABC cake!

Drove up from the South Valley looking to buy several home made fruit pies for the 4th of July Holiday picnic they list that they have pies listed on their website and also it comes up with a google search. Very disappointed when I got there and was told that they only have cakes and cookies AND ONLY HAVE PIES during the Christmas Holidays. They suggested that I go to the Sprouts market and buy a commercial made store pies. Everyone knows how commercial made store pies are and not that good tasting. I went to another pie shop in town.

I got a custom tiktok cake for my 31st birthday and bot only was it delicious but the decorations were perfect!!! Absolutely will be order all of my cakes from them in the future

My boyfriend got me a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. The cake was dry and crumbly. There was no cream cheese taste and they put some other type of frosting on the bottom of the cake and on the cake inside before they put the so called cream cheese frosting on. Then to top it off they went around the bottom with the same kind they put on the bottom and sides of the cake. Did not go well together. For the price you can go to Albertsons and get 2 delicious carrot cakes and change back.

Disappointed with cake ordered for sons 1st birthday. Initially went in to order cake the week of Christmas. Since I was unsure of the exact cake design, I was told that I could search online and complete the order through email. Once I decided a design I emailed ABC to get price estimates but there was so much back and forth. The original design, 3 tiered, i was told would was estimated at $300 due to the time it takes to decorate. I knew the cost would be expensive, so I decided on a 1/4 sheet, with 2 smash cakes, trying to incorporate some designs from my initial 3 tiered cake choice. I was then told I could not complete my order via email, I would have to go back into the store or call the order in. After getting estimates, I was still on the phone another 40 minutes trying to order the cakes, which was frustrating!! Once I received my cakes, I was disappointed with the 1/4 sheet cake (picture of a bear), as it looked as though a child decorated the cake and it was right before closing and they would be closed on New Years. The sales associate asked what I thought and I said it looked ok, but i couldnt hide the disappointment! The bear looked psychotic and the arms were disproportionate. For a quarter sheet cake and 2-6 inch single tiered round cakes I paid $200....never again, so very disappointed, especially since my family has been purchasing cakes for years.

This bakery lost multiple life long customers today. We will never return to this bakery ever again. Extremely rude and poor customer service for mediocre cakes. Please use any other bakery and do not give this place your money.

Would give a zero star if it was an option. Brides to be, please take my advice and do not get your wedding cake here. They delieved mine late and did not call to notify us or anyone. To top it off we couldnt get anyone on the phone and left the reception to run down to the store to inquire in person. Then when we called they did not want to take any responsibility for it. To top it off their manager Lucille is aweful and simply avoids any confrontation. She wouldnt even give me her higher ups informationg.

My husband and I can’t thank ABC Cake Shop & Bakery enough for our beautiful wedding cake. It was what we dreamed of and some. Bryan was our wedding consultant that helped us from the beginning of the process till right after our wedding. He has the best customer service and knows how to exactly take the information you give him and turn it into such a beautiful work of art and the best part is you can eat it. We can’t wait for our one-year anniversary to get another cake from this wonderful business. We will recommend this place to not only other brides and grooms, but for all types of celebrations such as birthdays, baby showers, graduations, you name it. When purchasing a wedding cake the process can be very lengthy; however, we enjoyed the entire experience. From the consultation, to the cake tasting, and our additional cake tastings, to our actual wedding day when we got to share our beautiful day with all our loved ones, we all were able to enjoy this process. We got so many compliments on our wedding cake from all our guests and we definitely made sure to let each and every one of them know who made our dream wedding cake. Picked up some Halloween cookies this weekend. First they shorted my order by 1. No biggy, but give the customer what they ordered. Lucia at the counter was the rudest clerk I have ever met, shame on you Lucia of yelling at a customer. She accused me of grabbing the receipts that she put on counter. I slid the receipts towards me so I could sign, she yelled at me in front of her co-workers & other customers. It was embarrassing. ABC you need better staff at your shop. I may never go back or send our Wedding customers to you all.

So very disappointed. I always come here for years now. Yesterday I bought a tea ring that was hard as rock and not fresh at all. I called to get a refund, they told me they dont do refunds but they would remake me one. I agreed. Came back yoday to pick it up. It looked like nothing I ve ever seen this bakery make before. It just looked like a blob of dough, amd had no flavor. It just tasted like lard. I sadly, after years of being a customer decided to never come here again.

If I could give 0 I would. The front girl is so rude, not helpful and kept rolling her eyes. When we got the cake the flavor was horrible! It seems like they dumped an entire bottle of almond flavor in the cake, totally overwhelming. And all my guests didnt even finish there pieces because everyone thought it was grose. So disappointed. Came to order 2 cakes, one for my sons 9th birthday and another one for my daughters quinceañera. Got asked very rudely by cashier that only 1 person can be allowed to place order so we needed to step out to let other customers a chance to be in. There was no one behind us waiting to get in and sign said 5 customers max occupancy. We were a total of 4 son with dad and daughter with mom. We even asked if 2 persons were allowed to stay in order to make decision on cake flavor, color etc. How can you expect to sell cakes by only allowing 1 person to order for such a special occassion? I even called store to speak to a manager but apparently they were busy to help me?! At least they took my name and phone number waiting to see if I get a call back from someone more professional.

WORSE SERVICE EVER!!!!!!! I Have been ordering cakes from here for years already! I decided to order my daughter a holy communion cake because it’s a very important date! I put in my order Couple days before went to go pick it up on Saturday because they are closed on Sunday. So I go and I literally get a Cake that it looks like a kid decorated it!!!! I told them if they could fix it? The manager at that time said they don’t have any decorators at the moment to fix it so I asked for my money back she said she doesn’t have the power to do that! Okay? So I asked if I could talk to the owner because I’m not leaving that place until I get what I paid for! The manager ended up calling the cops on me the cop talked to the owner and told me to leave I repeatedly asked if I could talk to the owner to solve the issue! They kept ignoring the workers are extremely rude! Mostly one named TONY! So I ended up getting ripped off and getting the cops called cause they did a bad job on the cake and they didn’t wanna fix it.

I will never purchase anything from ABC Bakery again. Once the original owners sold it, it has gotten worse every year. The new owner thinks he can continue to profit off of the old owners reputation. They have ruined every one of the products and they keep lowering the standards and quality of the ingredients. If you look at their reviews the recent reviews will all be one star so then they pay people or have friends post fake reviews to try to raise their ratings. The cakes are old and dry and they stopped making the original buttercream which is what made this bakery stand out. Dont waste your money, Walmart or Smiths has better quality.

I have been going to ABC Bakery for years and I’m so sad to leave this review because I have been a 15+ year customer. There was the rudest employee I have ever met and his name is Brian. I was called over to the cake counter and was told to speak to him. I started to describe the cake and he rudely told me he could not help me since he was helping another customer and that he would get to me when he was done and basically if I could shut up is how I felt. So, I said ok and went back to another associate to place my other order for that days purchase. Then some time later he came back to me and said he was ok to now to help me. Then apparently he didn’t like my mask and asked if I could put another one on, however he backed away from the counter about 3 feet and was waving his hands at me. Then he asked me to reposition my mask and clearly nothing was making him happy. He very rudely took the rest of my order was he said I needed to give him information in the order of his particular form. He seemed very sarcastic and it’s sad in these time when small businesses are struggling that Brian couldn’t have been nicer to customers. Regardless of if he is an employee, owner, or just a person off the street, I can’t imagine he is doing well for the business. I would suggest that he learn how to talk to customers or take applicable training to learn how to treat people. Over the years I’m sure I’ve spent quite a bit of money at this place and I have to say this is the first time I have ever been completely disrespected. Im sure he also treats other customers the same way and I’ll have to think twice before heading back.

Ate it on the second day and it tasted like it was made hours ago. Very reasonable prices as well. Free sample of bear claw was also incredible.

Worse customer service! I went in to order a simple cake. I was told I NEEDED to speak with the wedding department. Who then advised me I needed to get an hour appointment to review designs and such. When I already knew exactly what I wanted. I knew the flavor and design of this very simple 21 serving cake. When asked to speak with the owner I was told he wasnt available. Instead I got a manager by the name of Sam. Who refused to take my order. Yes! I cant believe I was refused service here. I left my name / number to have the owner Paul call me.! I still have yet to hear from such owner. Dont waste your time coming to this bakery in my opinion this bakery is useless. Take your business elsewhere!

Very disappointed with service of ABC cake shop. We recently had a new baby and his grandfather ordered a birthday cake for him. The cake was delivered and received without instructions about refrigeration. The day after delivery, we called to make sure the cake was ok to eat after being left out. “Brian” said that it may make us sick due to it being buttercream. We asked if we could have another made (even a small easy version) and he said that we’d have to pay for it and was extremely rude in his delivery. We had to throw out the entire birthday cake. We left a message for the owners to call us back and didn’t receive a call after a week and a half. Called back today and talked to “Nick,” the events manager, and he was also very rude and told us that just like grub hub, you need to take care of your own food once it’s delivered. We understand that, but it would have been nice to have some instruction on how to store the cake.If the owner cares about this establishment and it’s customer service, we’d still like a call back to follow up.

I went through ABC Cake Shop for my wedding cake, and my husband and I both loved the result! The shop has so many options for cake designs, flavors, and colors that it was hard to choose what to do. But we ended up getting a mix of the white and marble cakes and the creme and raspberry fillings. It was so delicious! Brian was a fantastic consultant and helped us every step of the way in giving us the best wedding cake. I only give this review 4 stars for two reasons. One is that it was sort of difficult to contact Brian a few times throughout the process. I suggest that anyone who needs to contact him press 2 when presented with the options in the phone menu. Choosing to talk to a representative will get you to Brian faster than pressing 3 and going to the wedding consultant line. Two is that my husband and I brought our own ribbon to put on the cake, and its color ended up being faded. So I would heed your consultants warning about ribbon and go with what the shop will provide. Other than those things, Im so pleased with what ABC provided, and Ill be going back for all of my cake needs in the future.

My daughter requested an unusual flavor combination for a birthday cake and while I was on the phone the pastry artists tried it out and helped me choose a perfect way to get what my daughter wanted while keeping it palatable for all! We ordered a cake from ABC Cake Shop and I thought, a cake is a cake. Nope! It was amazing! It was decorated beautifully and tasted even better! So many of our guests asked where we got it and I was proud to give your name. You did a beautiful job and we thank you for making it a beautiful focal point at the party!

My mother took my 2 1/2 year old twins in for a cookie after school. An employee very rudely and loudly told them all to leave because there could only be 5 people in the store. They were not given the option to wait outside. There were only 4 people in the store and a couple of them were about to leave. My twins were very upset, confused, and were crying. They did not understand why they had to leave. In fact, another customer felt so bad for the twins and them crying that she gave them two cookies. I understand that this pandemic has made people tense at times but there is absolutely NO excuse for being so rude and unprofessional and making two 2 1/2 year olds cry.

Be very careful if you order a cake from here. Yes, they do beautiful cakes, but I’m telling you I showed up to pick up the cake I ordered today and it was NOT MADE. Never mind that our oldest son graduate from UNM today, and that the order was placed well in advance. They even have the written order right in front of me where it clearly states when it was needed, and they tell me because I didn’t put 1/2 down they didn’t make it. Never mind the fact that they NEVER asked for payment NOR did they call me to ask for payment. Yes, my phone number on the order is correct. Beware!

Our wedding cake was beautiful! The delivery guy broke our cake topper however we understand things happen. Everything else was perfect! We really enjoyed working with Brian! He is definitely an expert in what he does. Thank you ABC Cake!

We ordered a wedding cake from ABC Cake Shop. The gentleman who had our initial wedding appointment began the conversation with what is your budget this was after I asked multiple times if we could wait for the groom before we got started (still 15 minutes till our actual appointment time). I told him that I wasnt sure how much we were going to spend because I had no clue what a wedding cake would or could run. He immediately got agitated and said well you have to have a budget or I dont know what to even start showing you. When my reply was a sarcastic $100. He started running through the cost of 3 tiers vs 5 etc. We also had a specialized cake topper that turned out to be top/back heavy. He took one look at it and said we cant put that on the cake, it will fall over, we will put it next to the cake My husband and I discussed it for a minute, as we wanted to use the special cake topper we had made for our special day. We determined that if they lengthen the posts on the back of the topper that they use to anchor it to the cake, it will center the weight The planner agreed that this would work and claimed to make a note in our file. Wedding day came, the cake was delivered on time. By the time we saw it after the ceremony the entire top tier of the cake was tipping and ready to fall. So we took the topper off to avoid a mess. I thought well, our plan didnt work. Later I looked at the topper, all 4 posts were the same length, they didnt even bother to try to make an adjustment... and this is why the top tier of our wedding cake was tipping before the reception even started. Delicious cake, very poor customer service. The entire wedding appointment felt like we were putting this guy out. I thought the cake planning would be one of the most fun parts of wedding planning, and I left just irritated. I would not recommend using ABC Cakes wedding department.

The pastries here are out of this world. They are so fresh and clearly made by someone passionate about his/her craft. I love the plain croissant and my SO was blown away by the chocolate croissant. You really cant go wrong here.

I buy a cake here about once a month on average to celebrate different kids birthdays. I can usually pop in and have plenty of ready-to-go cakes that match my price range, style, and flavors. Ive ordered cakes here in the past and they are always what I wanted. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The cupcakes and cookies and other treats are also delicious. Quality and prices are at a literal sweet spot. I prefer this shop over others due to their hours, prices, quality, and friendliness. Its the only shop I use.

Lovely bakery. We came for the Cream Puff since we are from Wisconsin and missing the State Fair. It was good! Not quite the same but a good pick-me-up and full of vanilla cream. We also tried the cannoli and a small cookie for our son. The cannoli was good, had more cinnamon than expected, and all of the fillings we had were more whipped cream instead of custard, but an enjoyable experience overall. I didn’t love being followed by the counter attendant as I explored the contents of the displays, but I chalked it up to him trying to have good customer service. They have a nice variety of parties and delicacies plus fun tea cookies for the kids.

Ordered almost 200 cookies for my event and they were on time for pick up and super delicious! My residents loved them!

Weve always loved going to ABC. They made our wedding cake 27 years ago. Idk if there has been many different managers since then or different bakers. Quality and the positive family vibe is almost non existent anymore. We try to continue to give them our business in the last 5 years and Ive actually refused to pay for a birthday cake decorated so wrong and done child like. The shelves in the displays are almost empty like there wont be any more baked goods for the day. Were loyal to this cake shop and we recommend them, so with that said, well be by next month.

It was my birthday last saturday May 30th and was given a birthday cake first off my name was spelled wrong. and then i cut a piece of cake on Monday and it was molded . when he tookmit back to show you the girl was very rude told him it molded because it wasnt put in the refridgator I have made many cakes and i have never had to put them in the refridgator unless it was a pudding cake and i have brought many cakes in my time and none of them molded. i will never do business with you again

I dont know why the bad reviews here. I went in to order a cake for my wedding reception and the folks were very courteous and helpful. I also got one of their cinnamon raisin rings. That was one of the best things I ever put in my mouth. Yeah, the prices are high but oh so worth it. If youre looking for cheap try the chain grocery stores not a high end artisan bakery.They made a Red Velvet cake with cream cheese icing for my wedding reception. Ready on time and absolutely wonderful. Our guests really enjoyed it. Again, you get what you pay for and, they were the only place in town to get one.

We ordered our wedding cake from ABC Cakes and I couldnt be happier. When I called to make a cake tasting appointment everything was explained up front. Our cake tasting appointment was truly special. Our consultation with Bryan was great. He went above and beyond to show us other options and design elements. This was truly helpful in our design process. The cake arrived at our destination perfect and still tasted amazing as expected. I trusted them with one of the biggest moments in my life and I would do it again. I will/do recomend ABC Cakes to everyone.

Always friendly service and delicious baked goods! When you are ordering a cake, they have an amazing variety of types of cake from the common white, chocolate, or yellow to flavors like German chocolate, strawberry, spice, carrot cake and many more. They also have about a dozen filling choices in Fruit types and cream types. Their cake decorating is always beautiful.

Terrible customer service at ABC Cake Shop and Bakery. I have been coming here since the 1970s, and am upset by the lack of good customer service. This week, I came in to make a change to my cake order. There was a sign that indicated that customers had to stand in line to receive service. There were two employees at the counter assisting customers; however, one employee began helping people who had just entered the store and who bypassed the line. After waiting close to 20 minutes, I spoke out and asked for a manager. One finally came out and I pointed to the sign and said why were some people getting served who did not wait in line? She basically glared at me for my question and offered no explanation, no apology but told me at least three times that she was in the back and did not know what was going on. I also suggested that they implement a ticket number system to make the entire process smoother. She didnt seem to care but told me that they did that in the past when things were busy. Uh, Judy, things were busy when you had about a dozen people in line and other customers coming in and bypassing said line, especially in light of the fact that many of your customers were purchasing or picking up graduation cakes, and also the fact that it was about 5 p.m., which is also a busy time for your business. If I had been treated more fairly, and if the shift manager had spoken more professionally and courteously to me, I would not be writing this.

I ordered a hot dog in a bun cake for my brother-in-law and was so pleased and actually blown away by the service. I was given several options to choose from for a design which completely amazed me as well. We had so much fun with the cake at the birthday party and memories will be talked about for many years to come. Certainly not the least of all the cake tasted beyond awesome. I will plan to us ABC Cake Shop & Bakery for many years to come. Thank you for a great experience.

Cakes and brownies available here with a selection of warm beverages. The prices are quite expensive, and the cakes taste pretty regular. There are many options available, but we tried chocolate (hazelnut) and the lychee rose. They were okay but I found it a tad sweet.
