Knowledgeable, well organized, and spent plenty of time with me evaluating my mechanics relative to clubs I was trying. Craftsmanship is excellent and a very good experience all around.

This guy was great! He made me comfortable from the start with an exciting experience even though I was rather nervous to begin. Went out to the range with me, brought out about 3 dozen clubs to fit me properly. Gave excellent advice that improved my swing with dramatic results instantly gaining 30 + yards with accuracy. My family (myself, my wife and my two sons) have been going to Sherm for 30 years to get fitted for golf clubs. His expertise, craftsmanship and commitment to addressing his clients needs are unsurpassed. We are so confident of Sherms capabilities that we recently brought him down to our retirement community in AZ to fit 10 of our friends (both ladies and men from 10-30+ handicaps). Our friends were all thrilled with his professionalism and particularly with his listening skills. A senior lady who rarely hit over 60 yards off the tee can now hit 100 yards and is enjoying golf more than ever. One 63-year old lady now hits drives that carry 200 yards, an increase of 20-30 yards!Whether one is a low handicap golfer or high handicap golfer, Sherm can provide well fitted clubs that make golf a much more enjoyable experience. It was an excellent experience having Mr. Sherman Haworth going over the whole process from building irons, wedges, woods, and a driver. I do most of my business at Bullseye and Golf Mart in Albuquerque, but I stopped into this place in need of a simple putter re-shaft. Not only was I greeted as if I wasnt supposed to be there, but when I stated my business politely (a simple putter re-shaft for which I had both putter head and shaft), the response from the club maker was it depends on how I feel. Then I asked the guy is this a golf shop? His response was I dont usually do that kind of stuff. If club repair isnt your business, but you own a golf shop, dont be so put off when someone walks through your OPENED door and requests a repair. And, have the decency to treat a potential customer with a little common courtesy.

Sherm, the Golfmeister, is awesome! My adult son went in looking for new irons (I’ll let him write his own review, but I liked them so much, I have my own on the way...) and while in the shop, I saw a Green Mountain Grill that Sherm also sells. What a machine! I’ve had it now for a few weeks and absolutely love it! Sherm was very helpful in getting me up and running - he even sent some recipes to try - and is available for any questions. Sherm spends as much time as you need answering questions and offering all his expertise. You can tell he cares about his customers and cares about the quality of service he provides. Further, I am not a consumer who looks for the CHEAPEST price-- I want the best value. To that end, everything at this shop outperforms the competition in terms of value. Bang for buck, Sherm can’t be beat!DRIVER FITTINGI first found out about the Golfmeister while looking for local clubfitters. Sherm was kind enough to schedule a fitting session for driver for me. He bent over backwards to find a time to work with me, and we met at the driving range. He got his equipment set up, gave me some pointers, and away we went. I was having a bit of an off day—weird pull hooks that I don’t normally have. Sherm was patient. He gave me some good feedback and some coaching (drills and such to help my form and consistency). He didn’t want me to feel pressured or obligated. As this was mid-winter and I hadn’t been playing golf near as much, I was just kind of off my game, and Sherm was kind enough to give me some tools to help get my driving a little more consistent for next time. The man gave me 1.5 hours of his time, and was just happy to work with me—whether or not I became a customer that day. Quite the opposite, he could tell that I was having an off day, and he didn’t want me to make a mistake. Few other places have the integrity to operate in a manner that is truly in the best interest of the customer. I have been working a little bit on driving since (yes, his advice helped out tremendously), and I will be purchasing one from Sherm. I hit some of his clubs and they are indeed sweet and well-priced.PUTTER FITTINGSpringtime in Albuquerque means it’s windy. Perfect time to get a putter fitting. (Sherm does putter fitting indoors so it could be a blizzard outside, and he would be happy to oblige). I called up Sherm, and he got me a time. Once I showed up, the next 2 hours transformed my putting game. Think about it, putting makes up 43% of your strokes on average. Wouldn’t it be nice to get that part down pat? He utilizes his knowledge of the game and putters to truly find the best fit for you, and his extensive customization process WILL find the right one for you AND your wallet. He does NOT push the “most expensive” item he has, and again—he doesn’t ever pressure the customer to rush into any quick purchases. After he gave me some quick tips to help with my form, I immediately saw improvement in my putts. Then he walked me through each one of the putter heads, and he let me try each one out. He was attentive with each model and offered feedback and tips. By the end of the session, I was confident in which model I wanted. It is a significant improvement to what I had, and my putts feel like butter, now. Still, Sherm told me “no pressure” and to “sleep on it” if I felt I needed it. None needed- and I have difficulty being decisive on purchases like these, so if I can feel comfortable, I’m certain anyone can. Only thing left is to figure out what grip I want (tour grips, included in the price), but I’m certain Sherm will be able to help me out with that, just like everything else. I cant wait to see it in action!As a value-oriented consumer, I cannot even begin to explain how happy I am with my purchase. When you look at the price (his are comparable to big-name brands, but better quality), remember that you are paying for his time, expertise, coaching, and high-quality fitted clubs to match. To the coaching aspect: I would like to say that one hour with the Golfmeister helped me more than 3 sessions with a private instructor. To the clubs aspect: they last forever, and you get lifetime adjustments for loft and lie. Quality is not “cheap”, but the value at The Golfmeister is second to none. I will be purchasing a full set, and Sherm’s refreshing attitude and customer-oriented business operation has earned him a loyal customer for life.

Ive had 4 or 5 sets of clubs made by Sherm over the past 20 years along with additional drivers, woods, and putters, and you wont find a better club fitter or club fitting experience. Friendly and quirky guy who is wholeheartedly invested in making sure the equipment you get is fitted for your game and will give you noticeable results. He helps true players, to those struggling to get the ball airborne at 100 yds, to those fighting some nasty ball curve, and his love for his craft impels him to want to make sure youre happy with the results after youve played with your clubs. And Ive seen dramatic results in lots of players who get fitted by him. In fact, those with more/worse problems have the potential to gain the most benefit because a tour pro could use awful equipment and still manage his way around the course well enough. Fitting on the range is a big deal - as useful as TrackMans can be, Sherm fits outdoors because ball flight and divots are the ultimate measure, and he knows what to look for because he has decades of experience. If youre going to buy clubs and want to get the full potential of that opportunity for your game, know that theres a few more variables to club fitting than looking at swing speed and spin rates and slapping a club shaft onto a club head like at most other fitters. Paying a little extra for the knowledge of the craft will be well worth it.Side note to mostly address another comment: he wants each club to be the best tool possible for you, so he wants to have responsibility for and control over the entire club and not be partially at the mercy of someone elses workmanship/materials.

Amazing experience! Sherm is The Meister! He knows golf and he knows clubs. I finally got ready to buy a new set of clubs, and got no solid support from retailers who did nothing but oversell name brands that we all know. Hands down the best 4 hours of golf instruction and club construction I have had or ever knew. He corrected my swing in one hour at the driving range. At that point, his custom clubs were a soft-sell and a no-brainer. If you are serious about your game (I am a beginner) and humble sufficient to learn, allow The Golfmeister to show you the way. Or waste your time at the driving range trying to figure out why that $500 Driver you just bought won’t magically work out your slice. Call Sherm—he is The Golfmeister.

The Golfmeister is the best when it comes to Green Mountain Grills. Has the best pellets available and I’m sure glad I found this local place to give my business to. The small smoker he sold me puts my Traeger Pro Series 22 to shame and I will be back to buy a larger one in the future.

Wow... Sherm just saved my Memorial Day celebrations with amazing customer service! My GMG grill’s combustion fan went out on the Friday before memorial weekend and GMG was sending a new one via warranty but was unable to ship overnight. They looked up Sherm at the Golfmeister as the only GMG dealer in Albuquerque and suggested I call him to see if I might be able to work with him to get a new one and then trade him out when mine arrived. Well I called Sherm and right from the very first minute of our conversation he was a TREMENDOUS wealth of knowledge about these grills. Unfortunately, he checked his warehouse for any new or even old fans sitting around to get me through until mine arrived but to no avail. Apparently Sherm was determined to save my memorial weekend and I received a call from him Early Saturday morning. He had just gotten a used unit from a client that he was planning to refurbish and wouldn’t you know it had a combustion fan on it and he offered it to me, but he wasn’t sure it worked as he had no history with the unit and it appeared old and not well taken care of. He invited me to come pick up the fan from his home, and with memorial weekend upon us I quickly accepted. While there he went over the details of exactly how to take care of the GMG smoker using his personal smoker in his yard and he discussed several recipes with me and introduced me to cold smoking with a tube. Again, I was impressed with his knowledge and now he was giving me a hands on tutorial at his home. Sherm is an amazing guy and what’s even more impressive is that he didn’t charge me a penny and let me have the fan hoping it would work, but truly not knowing. We talked a bit more about the different pellets on the market and he increased my knowledge about all the different ones. He has his own special mix of Hickory and Mesquite which is of a very high grade at his shop and at a very reasonable price (not any more expensive than the usual pellets you see in the chain retailers, and actually I believe it may be cheaper). Sherm is now my new first line of contact for any future purchases for GMG grillles, Accessories, pellets and even rubs. I HIGHLY recommend getting to know him and purchasing your GMG items from him. Thanks Sherm for the AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I personally don’t golf, but if I did I would be doing all my golf business with him as well.

When it comes to custom golf club fitting and making Sherm is very practical, and extremely competent, skillful and knowledgeable. He is great to work with and quite deliberate. All my clubs are now the best I have ever played. In addition, I recently had Sherm build a set of single length irons. They provide consistent swing plane patterns and are physically friendly due to uniform length (less biomechanical wear and tear on the spine). Performance is excellent. Try it.

I carry a 3 handicap and have always play pretty well. I struggled like most finding a driver I could rely on for 18 holes. I had a fitting at a well know fitter in PHX only to be disappointed and out $$$. I came home one morning, after working a night shift, called up Sherm and that’s where our relationship began. Sherm spend the next hour on the phone with me, discussing everything from my my driver set up to my favorite pro golfer. When I hung up the phone, I knew I needed to go see him. That Friday I showed up to his Albuquerque location and began my quest to build a fine tuned driver. Sherm and I proceeded to the range where he watch me hit balls, in horror I might add, as I was coming off of winter golf and not much playing time. Needless to say I gave Sherm a few good balls and asked him to give it his best shot. Two and half weeks later I drove back to Albuquerque and took my new driver to range. Sherm took his time explaining all that he did and how it was set up. I didn’t care, I just wanted to smash it and redmeem myself. My very first swing sent the range ball soaring down the range with a butter fade and deep! I knew I had a hidden gem. The driver itself is the most consistent club I’ve ever swung. Every swing preformed the same, and was very predicable.This was 6 months ago and the driver has only gotten better. I stand confidently on a tee box, go though my routine, aim and fire. I know that if I hit one bad it was a swing fault not the club. People stare at the driver because it’s not a well known name brand and that’s off-putting to them but the results speak for themselves. Sherm also offers a lifetime warranty on the club.
