I really like the stuff in the store. It’s helpful and helps the environment. Some of the staff is not so welcoming I would say. In general cool store!
What a great idea! I found some great items for craft projects and look forward to donating some that I dont need anymore. You need an appointment to donate and they dont take everything.
Almost don’t want to say how great this place is and miss out on the great stuff:-) nice and helpful volunteers too
Great deals! Its like thrifting for teachers and crafters! Can find something new every time you visit.
What a wonderful treasure trove of craft and art supplies! We had a fantastic shopping experience and the kids had so much fun filling a bag with all their treasures to craft with at home. Cant wait to come back!
Well organized, friendly staff, and awesome selection and prices. With appointments required, I felt very safe with a limited number of people in the shop and found it pretty easy to mostly social distance.
I was so excited to visit this place! They have pretty limited hours so I planned to wrap up work early and get there as quickly as possible on a Wednesday. Seemed like lots of lovely stuff and a great way to reduce waste. I wasn’t greeted and there didn’t seem to be anyone working (volunteering?) in the store. It seems there are small, medium, and large paper bags at different prices that can be filled with any items — fabric, sewing patterns, stationery, all kinds of things.Unfortunately when a staff person did show up, she was rude and clearly couldn’t wait to get rid of the people browsing. At 5:49 pm she said, “We’re closed, you need to get out” to me and others. I was surprised and apologetic, thinking I must have misjudged the time... and then she said “Well, we close at 6.” Took a few moments to put back the stuff in my bag and left. Sadly, a wonderful idea for a shop but an unpleasant and unwelcoming experience.
I really wanted to thank Regan and Anthony for coming to pick-up our two TVs. They were so nice, gracious and strong. If I could get someones email so I could get in touch of the administration, I wanted to thank Regan and Anthony.Thank you.
Super unfriendly. Don’t bother wasting your time calling or attempting to donate to this place. The lady on the phone hates her job and will take her frustration out on you.
Awesome thrift shop for fabric, sewing and other crafts. They take donations of these these items and then sell them by the bag. It a really great way to get a variety of different supplies and they are always very friendly. Just a special thing for the community to have.
A well kept secret and word needs to get out about this awesome place. A treasure trove of treasures. Probably whatever you are looking for is there plus lots more. Plus a good place to donate your Im never going to use that again items.
Such a neat place! We enjoyed the selection and especially love the recycling of old items. An amazing opportunity for our kids to dig in and enjoy such an organized, artistic and community involved experience!
This is a great place to get supplies if you do any sort of crafting or creative hobbies! You can stuff a bag full of supplies for a reasonable price (10$ and up I believe) or you can sign up for a year long membership that lets you take what you need. I have pretty much stopped going to bug craft stores as I can find pretty much everything Im looking for here. Staff is amazing, passionate, and incredibly helpful.
Wonderful and helpful staff. Great crafty items!
That theres a lot of stuff there
Great place for getting decorations for a kids party then give them back for someone else to use. Also good for costume raw materials and unusual stuff. Take the kids, let their imaginations go wild
Love this place! Treasure trove, every visit something new. Dedicated volunteers. Great place to donate all the things you’ve been hoarding!
Love donating and finding crafty findings.
Absolutely my favorite place to visit. The kids love it. The variety is always new and the nicest people volunteer their time. The membership is worth the annual investment but I am certain I’ve brought more to Upcyle than I’ve removed. This is a fantastic place to bring items you wish you could donate or hang onto Bc you might use them one day. I can’t say enough great things about this place. Job well done on a creative, inviting way to repurpose every day items.
Knowledgeable staff
Love love loved it
Im a teacher in a classroom and I went to upcycle to find objects to place in my classroom. This was my first time there and it was not what I expected. If you need things for a Makerspace in your classroom, it has a lot of cool stuff. My $10 bag wasnt worth $10 though. If you were going to be going often, it will be worth paying the $75 for a Years membership. Its one of those places you have to see for yourself to make that decision.
Great organization!
An art teachers dream. Follow them, because they get good donations and they dont last a second day.
Wonderful with so many goodies to expand the creative mind
UpCycle is Awesome! I love everything about UpCycle. They have art/craft supplies, office supplies, a fabric/yarn department and unusual items like cigar boxes and eye glass lenses. I love that I am helping the environment by sourcing these perfectly good second-hand items. I love that I am supporting a local non-profit. I love the classes and camps they offer too. I love that I can also donate my good condition unused items to UpCycle. Wow! UpCycle is a win win win. Thanks for being in Alexandria.
Fun place to get gently used items for all manner of craft projects.
Super great staff and volunteers- always makes my day to go to upcycle.
Bathrooms are usually never open the janitor is cleaning them then their classes are far spaced out
