Staff is great and professional but when you call the call gets routed to an IVR system. If the IVR system cant answer your question you are routed to an answering service (possibly outside the US as the accent is so strong I cant understand whats being said). Then the answering service tries to answer your question. If they cannot answer your question they ask for the location you want to contact. Then the ANSWERING SERVICE calls that location and asks them the same questions then will relay that answer to you. If they cannot answer the question they will then put you through. I dont see how this is effective except to deter clients. Why not have each phone number which you researched online call directly to said location?

Excellent experience. They were listed by my insurance company, and they got me in for an appointment quickly. The store is nice, and they have excellent COVID protocols.Easy process for filling out the forms online ahead of time; the appointment was quick and efficient, which I very much appreciate. They also offer the premier eye exam, so photos are taken of the insides of your eyes instead of dilation, which I strongly recommend. Its slightly more expensive, but definitely worth the cost.Nice selection of glasses. Heather was awesome at helping me to pick out 2 pairs, they look great! She wont let you leave with a pair that doesnt fit your face well, she will keep looking with you until you find ones you like but that you also look good wearing.
The parking lot is amazing. Ive never stood in a parking lot and talked with my daughter in a more cozy yet minimalistic parking lot. And you can park your car here.
People are nice enough onsite, but if you have any questions there is no way to get through their broken IVR to talk to a real person. So then you get booted to their global IVR where you will sit on hold for hours on end. While bored, you may think to check out customer service online, but that is even more broken as their chat is an automated bot that is entirely broken. Four weeks after they have taken my money, and yet I cant even get a status update on my glasses.
I cannot say enough good things about visionworks! I got a new insurance plan and thought that an eye exam would be covered there. It turned out that my insurance actually doesn’t cover exams anywhere. I decided to just pay out of pocket for the exam since I was already there and needed it anyway. They found a way to get me $30 off through my regular medical insurance! I also ordered contacts and they price matched the lowest price they could find. Then they also gave me a $50 rebate! They jumped through hoops to save me money and were so kind through it all. Definitely will go back!
Amazing service. I originally went to another outlet of Visionworks and experienced some issues. Visionworks at American Fork, got me the perfect pair of glasses that is both functional and stylish at record time. My new pair of glasses are super comfortable to wear and I get compliments every day.They also ordered my sample contact lenses and delivered them in a week, that was pending from the other store for over two months.The staff are really very nice and super helpful.
I ordered three pairs of glasses for three different purposes. When I got them home I discovered I couldnt see well out of the bifocal section on any of them. I called to explain the problem and was given an appointment for the next day--a convenience for me considering my busy work schedule and the difficulty of setting appointments during Covid. I received a new exam for each pair, and the doctor and I figured out that the frames of two pairs needed slight adjustments, and the third pair needed new lenses. Everything is great now. Im very happy with the service I received and highly recommend this Visionworks.
I visited Visionworks for the first time yesterday and had a very good experience. It was easy to make an appointment online, I was able to get in the very next day after making the appointment. Their location was very easy to find. They were on time when I arrived for my appointment, there was no wait at all. The store was very clean and organized and quiet. I saw Dr. Nicholls and he was excellent. They had a huge selection of frames to choose from, I got both regular and sunglasses.I also really really appreciated that they took the COVID 19 risk seriously, masks were required and hand sanitizing. Everyone in the office wore masks, both customers and employees. Appointments were spaced out far enough apart to allow for social distancing.Overall a very good experience and I would highly recommend them!
Great, friendly customer service.Very satisfied with the quality craftsmanship of my regular and sun glasses. I have lots of astigmatism, no line bifocals, mirror, auto tint, dark outside to clear inside, polished, beveled edges. My glasses are loaded and yet I still got a great buy one get one free deal. Very solid quality and lens were made perfect. Thx
100% recommend. I have been to many eye care providers -- I generally only care about getting the best deal, but this place has such great service I now wont go anywhere else. On top of that, they generally have the best prices anyway.
I have visited Visionworks in American Fork twice in the past few months and both experiences have been stellar. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. They accommodated with me to make sure I was happy and comfortable. I would highly recommend visiting this location for all your optic needs!
Very disappointed! First they gave me the wrong prescription fought with me about then after checking they relized they were wrong took 2 weeks to get them back. I complained rhey were blurry and giving me head aches they said wait to weeks which i did. Went in today with same issue. And left in tears after being treated poorly by the dr . Never have i ever been treated so poorly did not deserve to be treated that way i honestly was scared of him he got so aggressive! I will not be returning

One of the best eye care centers I have ever experienced. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional, and they worked with me and my insurance to maximize my best deals. They also dont work on commission, so their recommendations for lenses and frames werent just upselling me on the most expensive items. I cant recommend this place enough.
I was doing a service project helping plant trees. We rolled a pine tree into it’s hole and a branch swung and a needle scratched my eye. I didn’t think much of it but after it kept bothering me I went in and got it checked out. The staff was extremely helpful and the doctor I worked with had great bedside manor and was a joy to talk to. He even used a vibrating needle to slough off some cells that had some kind of biological debris on them from the pine needle, but I was fully confident in him and it was still a great experience. Clean facility and great staff.
I was very happy with the service I received here. The doctor was very knowledgeable and professional! Then the staff worked quickly to get us into the best set of glasses for my wife and I. I was also happy about the selection of frames. They have something to fit everyone and all budgets. I will definitely be back!
I wasnt very impressed with their service in the first place. But after purchasing contacts and glasses, Im very unsatisfied. Their brand of contacts that were supposedly just like the ones I used to have dry out so fast and dont last nearly as long as my old ones. Ive never had such bad contacts, and Ive been buying them for over 20 years. (I used to go to Shopko so its not like I was getting high end ones.) Then after having a pair of glasses for a few months, I went to pull them off my face, and the arm broke off. They were that flimsy. When I asked if theyd fix or replace them, they said no, since I didnt buy the extra warranty. At the time I bought them, I thought surely these glasses I wear only in the evenings would last at least a year. What a ripoff. I will not be back.
Was on vacation visiting my kids in Utah, and needed a new pair of glasses. My daughter-in-law suggested Visionworks in American Fork so we went over to take a look. Our salesperson Heather was very helpful and let us know of the different promotions going on, and long story short, the current deal was so good, both my wife and I were able to get glasses that day for much less than what we would pay in Hawaii. We went in on Saturday, and I got a text notification that both our glasses were ready by Thursday! And on top of that, Heather is shipping them to us here in Hawaii. Been going here for a few years now. There isn’t a better doctor the Dr. Nichols. And the rest of the staff is amazing. They are so willing to help to find the best fit and style for each individual.
I received excellent service from my very first visit and even after the guarantee period was up and it was discovered that the prescription had been written incorrectly and part of the mistake was a different doctor than Dr. Nichols, new lenses for the three pairs of glasses that I purchased were made with no additional expense to me! Great staff, good service, and very friendly. You can be assured I will recommend them.
A lot of folks here saying that Visionworks was fishy or unprofessional in the way they went about helping them. In my experience, theres a lot of costs most buyers dont take time to understand. Its not Visionworks fault if youve got a hard time understanding the costs covered by insurance in addition to all the options you may realize youre opting into or not.That being said, the folks here are VERY helpful. If you see a charge youre not sure about, ASK!!! Its not hard!! They love answering your questions. They wont lie to you, and theyll ask questions if theyre unsure themselves. They were a pleasure to work with, and didnt blindside me with any costs or fees.They were super friendly in the selection process, stayed later than their hours of operation to accommodate my work schedule, and were very helpful after I had selected my new frames and wanted to get updates on their status.Would DEFINITELY recommend their services to all my friends and family! I love the service, the prices, and their professionalism. They answered my questions and left me extremely satisfied with my service.THANK YOU VISIONWORKS.
So nice!! I had issues with my insurance company and they were so patient.. 3weeks patient. When I finally picked my glasses up the Dr. took my 3 yr old, checked his eyes for free.

Repeat customer! The staff and doctor were very friendly! Whenever I go in, I am greeted and assisted right away. The store is clean and the environment is calm and relaxing. Absolutely would recommend to anyone in Utah County as the #1 place to go for eyecare!
UPDATE: So I got my newer glasses today, the staff was very friendly and even knew me by first name (I feel bad not being able to recall his name D:). They were very eager to help me in anyway possible. While my last experience wasnt perfect, I realize I cant blame them for the frame issue. Anyway, the glasses are, or feel, perfect and my vision is much sharper.The lesson here is, no matter where you go, get two frames (theres usually a sale no matter where you go) of a different brand each so if you need to get the prescription fixed you have at least one pair to wear while you wait.ORIGINAL: When I first went here to get my glasses (ie picking out the frames and stuff) it was great. The staff was friendly and helpful when it came to helping find the right frames and deals for me.I later found that, due to the doctors mistake (not Visionworks), my lenses were slightly off (axis of 50 instead of 60). So I went to get the lenses redone at VW (free replacement). I was told I could hold on to my glasses till my new ones came in, which was great.10 days later I got a call, I figured my new glasses were in, but instead I was told that they needed my frames for my new glasses and it would take ANOTHER 10 days, this time I wouldnt have ANY glasses at all until my new ones come in.Now, this is where my disappointment comes in, I was told I wouldnt have to give my frames back till my new glasses were in, which is great since I need them to see, then I get told I have to walk around without them. I couldnt pick out new lenses (for WHATEVER reason, which is asinine to me) or anything like that.Im not angry at the staff per say, but this shouldnt have happened. I should have been allowed to get different frames, of an equal or lesser value, for free until my new ones came in.
Very unprofessional. They give out expired rebates and lie to you about how much your contacts will cost. When I tried to take back my unopened boxes, (after spending hours trying to figure out the expired rebates) they wouldnt take them back, saying it was past the time to do that and it had only been a month and a half. They need to educate their staff. Do not go there. They need to show compassion and admit when theyve done something wrong.
The entire staff was great to work with. Very fun and welcoming. We will definitely go back!
My experience with vw was amazing Heather who help me was knowledgeable in every aspect of my vision needs I wouldnt go anywhere else for me and or my familys vision needs.
Two stars ONLY because they were able to get my glasses done in a half hour. The staff there are very over powering and try to upsell you like crazy. The sign on the door says buy one get one free. With that in mind, I picked out two pairs. When I gave them to the sales rep, she quoted me a price of $480. The more expensive frames that I picked out were $119. Then when I told her that was too much and only wanted one pair the price jumped down to $380? I guess their buy one get one free is different than everyone elses. I then told her that that was still too much and that I was going to go somewhere else. THEN the price MAGICALLY dropped to $179??! How can they just shave $200 off out of nowhere?? Not only did it drop down by $200 but when I told her I was going somewhere else, I saw out of the corner of my eye, the girl looked over to her manager and he nodded to her and she took about 6 options off of my order. This place is very fishy and they just try to money out of you and I am going to be going to somewhere else to get different lenses that dont start at $200 (and then all of a sudden drop to $60).

I cannot reccomend Visionworks in American Fork ENOUGH!!!! First of all, Dr. Nicholls is by far the best Optometrist I have ever been to. I have never received a clearer, more perfect prescription. The staff is so friendly, the store so clean, and they have a giant selection of frames to choose from! I have moved and now live about an hour and a half from this store but I will always take the time and make the drive to visit Dr. Nicholls and Visionworks in American Fork!!! I wish I could give 10 stars!!

Positives: professional, congenial staff, including an engaged & thorough optometrist (Dr. Nicolls). Also a goodly selection of frames.Suggestions for improvement & repeat business: follow the customers lead, i.e. dont keep pushing an extra pair of unwanted glasses. Also, when a customer spends $200+ on glasses, it should be a no-brainer to include a courtesy cleaning cloth in the case. The pennies-on-the-dollar cost for such a cloth is much cheaper and will create greater goodwill then the potential cost / loss of repeat business (at least mine on principle from the bad-taste left) when I asked about - but was told Id have to purchase separately - my own $1.99 cloth.
I went back with a scratched lens and VisionWorks in AF went above and beyond. Emily and others superb customer service really made a different in my experience. I will be a long term customer with VisionWorks.
Dr. Side-Kick (NOT Dr.Nichols) will make you feel like a fool if you ask about a second opinion upon getting your eye exam results.
