Literally wasnt handed my change because the staff member had already moved onto the next customer, then on my way out after telling the clerk I was going to leave my change anyways... I recieved a less than heartfelt, kind of spiteful please dont leave a bad review type of apology. I do not accept it and i watched a guy go in without a shirt on before me. he literally had on a down vest he zipped up on his way in. serving locals and being friendly is one thing but, consider your future/past customers. I honestly wont go there Ill stick to the locations I know have decent staff

The staff is pretty cool can have a conversation and nice. Decent prices and a huge variety of alcohol beer and wine. And some on tap for your growlers.

Rarely closed. Decent selection for beer and wine and liquor. Craft beer selection is more limited than say gold Rush or brown jug. Prices are slightly higher than other stores around town

Very misleading is the name of the store. Not much value there. Name suggests lower prices but found the prices were more than other stores Ive visited.

This is a smaller chain than Brown Jug, and is typically more expensive too.I have heard that it is family owned & staffed, but am not certain.They are always helpful, especially when Im trying to locate hard to find spirits, or specialty seasonal gift box items amor marketing swag.Though I no longer live near a Value Liquor location, I will stop In when proximous.

The unparalleled service at this establishment far and away make up for the smaller selection. Every time I have gone in, the employees are friendly and accommodating! They will even help you carry your purchases to your car if you need it.

The location is convenient for south-side folks in Anchorage. The selection is pretty small, but they offer 5-10 on-tap micro-brews & they change the selection every couple of weeks. Their kegged beers are mostly local brews & are usually only available at the brewery ... so you dont have to go all the way to their headquarters.Some of the staff members can be a little quarky, but they are friendly for the most part. The only downside is the pricing. Youre going to pay about a 20% premium over say Goldrush or Brown Jug Liquor. The upside is the location, but the small selection and the price may avert many buyers. Value Liquor is somewhat of a misnomer.
