We were very happy to learn there was a Magic shop here while we are visiting. We went in. We were ignored. In 12 minutes the only thing anyone said was you need to pull your mask higher up. My husband asked for help several times. He was told HE could not look at cards but if he had a list they would look for him. He said I have a list right here. The lady just turned and walked away. Every person that came in after us was talked with and helped. My husband told her he was looking to buy some very expensive cards. She says nobody has any old cards...did not even ask to SEE what he wanted.. (and some people DO have the valuable cards becauseWE do) Some of the cards on his list are valued at $1k...you would THINK a shop would want his business. As we walked out the door he said if nobody wants to take my money I guess I will go on and leave...that still didnt get anyone interested in selling him anything. Apparently if you arent local they do not want your business so my opinion is dont waste your time and give your money to a shop that wants your business!

The people here are very rude and I couldn’t get help from anyone. The shop is extremely small and doesn’t have a huge selection on anything. Their prices are also very high for cards and packs, They overprice not even thinking of tcg I highly advise everyone to go somewhere else

Excellent place to visit if you love comics and graphic novels! Staff was cool, stock was cool - no complaints whatsoever. They also have a wide variety of Funko Pops!

#1 card shop for buying cards, hands down. They have 90% of the cards you could ever hope for and they do have a decent playspace. Its easy to contact them to pull cards. Since finding them i can get almost all my cards at their shop. Long live The Haunt!

I really adore this shop. I came into this store with zero Magic experience and the staff were so patient and generous with me learning the ropes. They have a ton of events that welcome all levels and interests. Im also an openly queer person of color and have felt incredibly safe, supported, and welcomed. Its become one of my Asheville staples.

If youre looking for anything magic this is the spot to go. The staff are super knowledgeable and they have tons of cards and some table top to boot. Go check them out.

I absolutely love this place, Ive been coming here for over a decade. But today me and two friends stopped by to pick up some cards and play some games. We were masked. We were told we couldnt play inside until the 28th and only if we had documentation of our vaccination or negative covid test but we could go outside. Then we were told we couldnt play outside until the 28th and only if we had documentation of our vaccination or negative covid test. This is beyond ridiculous. If we go get negative tests and get a pass how long will that be good for? I get that its wotc, Its just a really sad day when me and my friends cant go to the card shop on our days off and play some edh without being asked your papers please.

Great new system for COVID! I have always loved this store, but havent visited in months. They have adapted with the times and have everything available from outside. Employee uses sanitizer between customers. Really really great experience.

Undoubtedly the best place for Magic the Gathering in Asheville. With Covid-19 they still have curbside service and card availability is better than nearby stores. Their event space looks small from the outside but the tables help events not feel as crowded.

Hands down, the most amazing Magic: the Gathering store in Asheville. Charla, Dale, and the rest of the staff are second to none with their customer service, and they easily have the best selection of cards of any store in the region. Their prices are always fair, and comparable to what you can find online, an absolute feat in this day and age. If you have never been to this store, you owe it to yourself to check it out. Charla is unfailingly polite, and always a gracious host at events. Even when the store is slammed with players and people looking for cards, the entire staff always takes the time to answer questions, help with questions about an ongoing game, or help a customer who needs guidance. I cannot overstate the fact that Gamer’s Haunt is an absolute pillar for the local Magic Community. Recently, when another local store was closing down, they graciously provided a space for many Commander players who were left without a place to hold tournaments. I look forward to being a customer for many years to come. A lovely, child friendly atmosphere that hosts a variety of ages, from 8-10 years old, all the way to 40 +. I would recommend this store without hesitation to anyone.

I went to this shop while visiting my sister, and it was a very welcoming place with a chill atmosphere. The owner (co-owner?) Charla, was very helpful and kind, and they offered very reasonable trade in prices. I was very happy with my visit and will definitely come back the next time I am here! 10/10

Just the best shop in town is all. Staff is welcoming and accepting of all folx. Great place to start learning the game, with a great clientele that’ll will help keep you involved. They have every card in magic history I’m fairly certain, and if they don’t they often trade/buy inventory to help find what you’re looking for. If I could help it I’d probably never leave. The best my child went they too buy a magic deck because he lost his old one. Great service a counselor at Odyssey summer camp suggest it and it was great they have lots of cards and a great variety of magic the gathering cards. Great if you like magic the gathering or have been recommended to gets some magic the gathering cards this is the place to go hope you enjoy this place as much as we did.

We all have that one local game shop that stands above to rest to us. Gamers Haunt has been that LGS to me since I started playing. An absolutely amazing staff that is willing to go above and beyond for the customers. With a selection that has rarely let me down. This is a sterling store that stands heights above the rest in my opinion.

I know nothing about Magic: The Gathering, and the guy behind the counter was incredibly helpful as he answered all of my questions and explained to me the basics of the game. Again, I dont know the game, but it looked like the store was well stocked with a vast variety of Magic cards and supplies.I dont live in the area, but I travel here often and I plan on coming back to this store, hopefully for Friday Night Magic. Everyone at this store was friendly and welcoming.

Ive known the owner for years before he took Gamers Haunt, and when I found out he was taking over the business, I was very happy. Dale is very knowledgeable about Magic: the Gathering, and his staff is extremely friendly. He has a large selection of singles going back to the early days. Cant recommend this place enough if youre looking for Magic.

A great store that exclusively deals with the Magic: The Gathering card game. The proprietor, Dale, is a very knowledgeable man who truly enjoys the game and its history. Whether you are a card connoisseur or new to the game, there is something there for everyone.

Giving them an extra star just because the shop was small and very welcoming. But as a Yu-Gi-Oh player there was nothing for me here. Seemed like all they deal in is Magic. But hey thats why I like to explore and see new places and things!!!

Excellent little shop with a great selection of Magic the Gathering cards! Very helpful staff as well as plenty of space to play and work on your roster.

Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, but when Ive been for events there are usually screaming children with minimal supervision, and there are no table numbers so for the first 10 minutes after pairings people are shouting trying to figure out who theyre playing against. If things were better organized I would be there more frequently.

Player base is mostly 10 year olds, store conducts unprofessional events, place has no AC and spells like rotten food and body oder, staff was so unprofessional that they told me to wait and walked away in the middle of me trying to buy $2000 worth of dual lands from them. Just walked out...dont go here unless you are into screaming children.

Owner was very rude. No introductions or hellos. Almost everybody, including employees, acted as though outsiders were not allowed. The experience here was very unwelcoming and uncomfortable.Regular players were also very rude to new players. Was also yelled at for using incorrect gender pronouns even though apologizes were made and we tried to correct ourselves.Store also had several older expensive cards for sale that did not seem legitimate.

This is the best shop for Magic the Gathering I have ever been to. Excellent staff with great, helpful service. Gamers Haunt has an enormous, well organized inventory with nearly any card you could ever want. Literally walls of long boxes of Magic cards, all alphabetized and inventoried to make getting your cards pulled for you quick and painless. Very impressive.Gamers Haunt is also a great place to play, with events practically daily, friendly and welcoming community, and comfortable play space. I love that they are respectful and interested in creating a safe and diverse community, and they clearly treat the current public health crisis seriously and with care.
