We love Music City! Thanks to their generous donation of a guitar and case to Give To The Music, we are able to award scholarships for music classes, camp tuition, private lessons and instruments to local kids. Check us out at givetothemusic dot org and join our great neighbors in supporting the gift of music education! Music is a universal language and this gift helps share the joys of music education to those who need it most!
I brought my Thunderbird bass guitar in a little after 10 AM. Phil had it ready a little after 2 PM. Ive never had such fast service and price was more than reasonable. The owner Jerry is a great guy, and both he and Phil are excellent and knowledgeable musicians and technicians to boot.Ill definitely bring my business back to Music City in the future.
This store will take care of you. You can tell this store takes pride in what they do. All of the guitars are beautifully displayed and ALL TUNED. They gave their recommendations based on what the customer needs not just to make a good sale. Will absolutely be back with the band in the future. Thanks again!
We like the gear, service and price.
Knowledgeable staff diagnosed problem with my guitar. It is my go to place for guitar work.
Go to this store instead of the big box corporate music stores! I am an Asheville native and music city has always been around. Better service and nicer guys than any music store around!
I walked into the store to find me a new guitar to add to my collection, I was looking and found this beautiful ESP EC-256 in White, and in about 5-10 minutes within walking in, I walked out with a new ESP EC-256 and a Gig Bag, The people are Nice and Respectful, I would definitely choose this business over Guitar Center any time, the prices are cheaper than other big Guitar Store Businesses. If you are looking for Electric Guitars, Acoustic Guitars, Gig Bags, Hardshell Cases, etc. Basically anything guitar related, whether it being Electric or Acoustic, choose this business to go to, I usually dont give reviews, maybe once every 2 years, but they definitely deserved it. Thank you to everyone who works there if you see this!
I Love this music shop great service!
Good guys. Good products. Suoer supportive of the Academy too.
Kind service and everything you would need from a small music store ie strings cables amps guitars etc.
I love this Music Store, they have the most courteous customer service in Asheville.
Ive been dealing with this location for years, for my personal needs and for my church needs. Jerry and all are good friendly people and helpful when questioned. I always recommend them to others when asked. Keep up the great work.
Have purchased numerous items from Music City and had one bass set up done there. I understand the idea of doing business locally when possible but it is not always feasible due to limited availability of all different brands and models. These guys seem to be exceptionally butt-hurt if you buy anything online whether they carry that item or notAs far as the bass setup they did. Not that great.I truly would rather deal with the evil Guitar Center. Musicians Workshop is pretty bad tooJust my experience and opinion.
Walked in, within 5 minutes had a nice gig bag for my strat, much higher quality than guitar centers roadrunner cases it had soft suede inside and velvet and the price was 10$ less than guitar centers basic bags. Great service as well...
Thanks Scott & Jerry! I really appreciate the amazing service at a very resonable price. Ive bought 1 guitar and had 2 guitars set up by Jerry & Scott. You guys are the best.
These guys really respect the music trade, you can trust your instrument with them. They restrung my precious guitar that collected dust for a few years :) It sounds brand new, or better! Ive been looking for a small amp that didnt need to plug into an outlet, and lucky me, they had a small one perfect for my needs! Cool selection of sound makers, little shakers and such. They also carry the basics; straps, chords, pics, capos, oh yeah, and a beautiful array of guitars!!! Definitely check this place out!
Literally 9 guitars in the store.
I highly recommend this store as its my favorite guitar shop in Asheville, Ive never been disappointed with any of their work. My guitars always come back better than new, and the staff have always been very honest with me. I took my acoustic in for a full set up ($35) and it turned out all it needed was a slight tweak and I ended up only paying $3 for it to be completely fixed.
Jerry Lyda is a first class guy and musician. You should hear him play with the Artimus Pyle Band. He also cares for the community. They are doing a concert tomorrow at Highland Brewery and all proceeds go to our veteran at Blue Ridge Honor Flight.
Jerry does good work
Music City is awesome. If they dont have it, they will get it, they play great music in the shop, and they are great at giving advice! Highly recommended!
Broke the nut on my guitar from string tension while setting it up for me. Ive restrung it before and it didnt break. 3 weeks later, still broken, and cant get a solid answer on when it will be fixed. Very disappointing. No one even called to tell me it was broken, nor did anyone say were sorry we broke your guitar. Customer service was horrible. Owner copped an attitude when asked to repair it. The told me theyd order a part and fix it as a courtesy and three weeks and one day later, still had done nothing. In fact, they acted bothered that I even expected them to get right. Yes, it wasnt an expensive guitar. But you know what? I bought three more guitars and 3 amps that year, and they lost every bit of my business.
These guys are top notch. Great customer service and killer selection. Ive never failed to leave there without a smile on my face and everything I needed.
My favorite musicians from my favorite Asheville bands. True professionals
Knowledgeable staff. Got a beautiful 12 string Seagull guitar for an exceptional price.
Great selection of guitars! I was able to find a guitar Ive been searching for years for here!
Very personal and very knowledgeable.
I went to Asheville on a short retreat and I have always loved the area growing up but recently after my father passed away. it is a very special place and my father was supporter of the arts a photographer himself and a great guitar player he passed his Gibson Heritage down to me and it is my only real way to relief stress the strings were twenty years old and I hadnt even though of getting it cleaned this is a devoted staff that gets the job done and new strings and polish under 20$ and the selection is amazing I know were I will always go from now on.
In town for the weekend and checked out shop. Cool gear but what makes a shop special is the people and Scott was great. I really dig the store.
Great place to buy a guitar. These guys know guitars and take the time to get you what you want. They did not appear to have quotas or specific makes and models that they are directed to pedal each week.
Great local music store! Awesome staff! Would definitely chose this place over any other music store in Asheville.
They are awesome. Their work is impeccable. Take all your business to them!!!
This store is not large but they have one of the best selections of any place Ive ever shopped. Employees seemed very nice and knowledgeable as well. A++
Professionals always willing to help with your musical needs. Hometown guys that we need more of.
The sale person, Randy (i think) was so very nice and very helpful.
Great Service!!!! Hands down this place is 1 class act!!! Scott and the guys are knowledgeable, kind, and helpful... Rock On @ Music City!!!!
Man. So much customer hatred. Ive been in the numerous times from getting strings and equipment, to trying an amp out, to getting my Floyd Rose re-gauged for smaller strings. Nothing but what it should be, professional, cocky and filled with musicians. Thanks guys.
The best place to go in town for your Music needs ! Hands down best service !
Great little music shop for guitar and bass players... but lacks in the drum or keyboard/piano department.
They carry some nice brands....But their customer service SUCKS! They treated one of the guitarists from Disvisioned like a little kid. Refused to let him hold a Les Paul guitar.Like a child. They talk to people (if they speak to you at all) like they could care less if they spent their money in here. So, he took this business down the road and spent: $4259. cash on what he was looking for. You snooze-You loose! With that kind of attitude I give this place maybe another year open for business. Trust me when I say, He will let other bands know.Sad...In this kind of economy you would seem to think people would give a crap about their business.
Got a small present for my son and this place had quite a selection of instruments to choose from.
Its like my money stinks in this place. When this place closes down, it will be because these guys couldnt care less. I like to support the mom and pop shops, but I will take my buiseness elsewhere.
People dont care how much you know, until they know how much you care
Very friendly place had exactly what I needed and when I had a problem with what I purchased they made it right I highly recommend this place for your music needs.
Shopped here most of my life
Awesome staff with friendly advice.
Always great service
My favorite music store
Helpful staff
A bit expensive in comparison
Small store, friendly people
