I have just had the most wonderful new-car buying experience here. I was driving an older car, and thought I would stop by just to see the models. Previously contacted 14 dealerships, ran credit twice, lost the sale twice then found Gold Rush and spoke to Bill McCoy, the end result, drove 173 miles (one way) and got the exact model, exterior color and interior color. Bill is a rare breed, willing and committed and showed it through actions. Buyer beware - shady sales practices are alive and well at this dealership. After agreeing to a price while on the lot for a 2019 Cross Trek, the salesman tried to slide in a $600 charge for some ridiculous coating on the interior and exterior of the vehicle (Zynex?). When the charge was caught the salesman said all used cars get this treatment. When asked why this amazing add-on wasn’t listed on the window sticker or included in the posted price, the salesman said because “it would require an addendum” - whatever that means. Needless to say, I walked. I found the exact same vehicle with 7k less miles at the Shingle Springs dealership and paid the same amount with no slimy sales tactics on unsuspecting customers.
Bill McCoy was knowledgeable about all things regarding our Subaru Outback and understands how to treat people and makes the buying experience a pleasure . I would say Gold Rush Subaru practices customer service and delivers on whats promised. I find this to be hard to find these days when most businesses make the sale then send you away on your own. They got me a great deal and I was able to be in and out of there in no time. Ive been buying new cars for 30+ years and this was by far the easiest experience Ive ever had. Went to their website and clicked on the car I wanted to purchase and got a price returned that was competitive with the price I received from a membership buying program. I arrived at the dealership and the car was ready to go and the process was very easy and I walked out about an hour later with my new Crosstrek! I would highly recommend the Internet sales department @ Gold Rush Subaru.

Great experience for my daughter and our family for another Gold Rush Subaru. Initially Alex was helping us with finding the car and scheduled an appointment for test drive. Alex was busy and Jessica was the person who ended up helping my daughter buy her first car. I usually would not write a review but really these guys deserve it. Troy and his team are amazing. We went to buy a car with two possible options, either get the Honda Pilot or the Ascent. We started by going to Subaru and from the get go, Troy and his team gave us a great deal (not even 30 minutes since we arrived to the dealer including the time we spent doing the test drive) . We then went to Honda to see what deals they had and it took us 3 hours to get their best price. Not only that, but they downgraded the Trim so it could fit our offer... and still they couldnt give us a better deal than Subaru for a much better car.So, we went back to Subaru and Troy and his team sold us our amazing car. If we would have stick with Subaru (Troy, Alan and all the subaru team), we wouldnt have wasted 4 hours of our day. They really work with you to try to give you the best possible deal. Thanks guys!
Beware of Buying at this Subaru dealer. They park brand new cars under pines trees (see photo) that leave sap on these beautiful new cars. It took almost 2 months to get my car after buying it due to problems with the sap on the paint. Really sad since this was my favorite dealer. Love the folks especially service folks and salesman Warren.
We had a great experience with purchasing a plug-in hybrid Crosstrek from Gold Rush Subaru. The negotiations were simple and straight forward via email and we had great customer service when we picked up the vehicle (had to purchase in CA because NV dealers are not required to sell ZEVs or PHEVs). My only piece of constructive feedback would be to have the car charged for customer pick up. While we definitely appreciated the full tank of gas, have a full charge would have been awesome.

Asked for a cvt valve cover replacement and asked if they could check my tie rod for a knocking noise. They didnt try to sell me any other bs service, told me it might be the axle and sent me on my way. I changed out the axle when I got home and they were right. They seem like a nice local garage you fully trust. Bringing my subie here every time now

I have an upcoming service appointment to replace a bad sensor which was replaced in May. Having the same problem in september I called the service department 3 times in 2 days just to see if the may senor replacement is under warranty. I have left 1 voice-mail and 2 verbal messages for a call back. I still have not heard from them. Pretty poor service. They previously have been pretty good. They must be having some employee problemsSeptember 2020.

We purchased our new 2019 Outback in May of 2019 from Gold Rush Subaru. We live in the hills of central California about 220 miles away and it was such a great deal and experience we drove all that way. Troy was excellent and treated us right. We were cash buyers that knew what we wanted and he and all of the rest of the employees were respectful of our time and were first class. Our next vehicle will be purchased from Gold rush Subaru.
Gold Rush Subaru changed my oil and rotated my tires along with the complimentary inspection. During the course of either the inspection or rotation they caught a nail puncture in my tire and corrected it for me. I received great service and will return for other maintenance in the future.
BEWARE! Certified Pre-Owned vehicle fraud. Test drove a certified pre-owned Outback 3.6R on 12/17, heard a noise in the left front before even getting to a public street. The salesman claimed to hear nothing. Asked that the vehicle be checked and found that the left front strut needed replaced. Struts, of course, are part of the CPO checklist and this should have been caught before the car received CPO certification. 12/18, took the repaired vehicle to our mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection. Leaks were found in the timing cover and the rear main seal on the motor. Both of these also should have been found, and repaired, prior to the vehicle receiving CPO certification. Took the car back to the dealer and was told that they would repair the vehicle. 12/21, called the dealer and the salesman said the dealer would, Just wholesale the car or sell it to someone who would take it as is. Then, later the same day, they said they would repair the car as promised and sell it to us. No thank you. A dishonest dealer slapping CPO certification on cars that have not been properly inspected. These three repairs would have cost thousands of dollars for a trusting, unsuspecting buyer down the road. The vehicle is still up on their site as certified pre-owned. Shop elsewhere.
I took my car in for a service recall replacement and they said it would be an hour and a half, at 2 hours I went in to check and they said theyre waiting on the part. The lack of customer service was really frustrating. I ended up having to take a rental car home and come back the next day for my own car.

If you need parts for your vehicle, Tim in parts knows his business like nobody else and will patiently work with you to get what you need. Their inventory is very respectable regardless of their size... and their techs (Marcel and others) know what they are doing... nobody and nothing is perfect. Including the buyer... keep this place in mind - it always pays to buy local. Why would you buy the same vehicle in the valley when this place is closer and will have similar pricing? People, if you’re looking to buying a Subaru, DON’T go anywhere else! Just visit this dealership! I wish I went here before visiting any of the other local dealerships. Would have saved me so much time and headaches, in general. I heard about GR Subaru from a family friend we know who’d bought their car from them, and so we went there even though they didn’t have the Crosstrek color I wanted at their lot. They were so nice and friendly, and just HELPFUL, overall, that was I was willing to order the car from the factory and wait for it, just so I would not have to go anywhere else. I didn’t need to do that, because they were able to source the car from another dealership - the last time I went car shopping was 20 years ago, so I didn’t know this could be done nowadays.😄 But even if that hadn’t happened I still would have ordered the car from GR Subaru.Sales manager Bill McCoy and finance manager Gerry Jundt were incredibly helpful, and Bill in particular gave us really great, unbiased advice on different car models, and was super patient while we took forever debating about small details about the cars. But thanks to them, we were able to get the perfect car at a great price too. The whole experience was nothing but great! I hope this dealership is still around next time we go car shopping (I think a lot sooner than in 20 years since my 3rd grader wants the car when he’s old enough to drive!😄).

We had heard that Good Rush Subaru was the dealership to go to for a used Subaru. Our daughter had moved up to Nevada City to take a job and it was clear her little Nissan just wasnt going to serve her needs up there once the weather starting turning cold. Fortunately, there was one used Outback with low mileage and excellent ratings and John was determined to make certain our daughter didnt leave the dealership that day without it. Not because it was another sale but because John wanted to ensure our daughter was driving the safest car for her on those roads. I was a happy customer for a few years but will never return. At a recent service visit, I was shown a part that needed to be replaced. That part did need to be replaced but the part they showed me wasnt from my car. I dont do business with people that try to deceive me. If theyre willing to sacrifice a loyal customer to try to make a few dollars, I cant trust them with anything. Its even made me wonder if I should buy another Subaru anywhere if all Subaru dealers are like that.
Zak and everyone at Gold Rush were super friendly and really took care of us. Its a totally different experience (for the better) going to a smaller sized dealership like Gold Rush. I wasnt pressured, I didnt have someone come up to my car immediately after pulling into their lot, and when I found the car I wanted, they beat the quote I got from another dealer. Support the smaller scale dealer and talk to Zak about getting a new Subaru. Hands-down the best person Ive dealt with at a dealership.

Even a year after our visit to this dealership I think back on how easy they made it entire experience. They had the car we wanted and two other dealerships tried to rip us off for the vehicle.I finally traced it down to these guys and came in with a horrible attitude. They were so accommodating, easy going, and friendly it was impossible to stay upset.Even if you are not in the area, drive out of your way to do business here. These people really are great and make the car buying experience a pleasant memory.

Gold Rush Subaru is great and John Davies is knowledgeable and bends over backwards to answer and assist with all my questions and new car buying needs. I live in Reno NV but I drove about 110 miles to Auburn CA, just to buy from this person. The Northern Nevada Subaru stores gave me the runaround between no discounts and we dont discount that much anymore so I left never to return. Summary: great place to do business and John Davies is a great person to do business with.

I needed a headlight bulb replaced and other dealerships required an appointment, but Gold Rush was amazing. They let me know it would be about an hour, but they fit me in and got me back on the road. I knew I would not be able to avoid driving at night, even for 24 hours. I went to work that night feeling great knowing that I would be safe on the road driving home late.

When we were shopping for our car we looked all over the place for a great dealership. Went to Roseville auto mall thinking there would be more options but they were super rude and were not easy to work with. Can to Auburn, they were super welcoming, easy to work with, willing to work with our budget, I recommend anyone getting a Subaru to go to them!
