I had the pleasure of working with John, Jan, and Derek at Infront Automotive. I had been searching for a shop to complete a dyno tune on my vehicle for some time and Infront Automotive came highly recommended by a good friend of mine who had taken his Legacy into John for work on multiple occasions!I live in Bellingham, WA and took the vehicle down for a pre-tune inspection the week before my scheduled tune. I was greeted by Jan right away and they grab my keys for the inspection soon after. Jan is a great addition to the Infront team. He was very thorough in providing me with expectations and recommendation of parts to have installed to reach my power goals. He was a class act and willing to answer all my questions and concerns!The day of the tune I had the opportunity to meet John. I unfortunately, forgot to install a gasket for my external wastegate the night before and he said no problem and had Derek install the missing piece quickly and even provided better fittings for the electronic boost controller!Once the car was ready for the dyno John asked me what my goals were and listened while providing feedback on reliability versus all around power. He updated me constantly throughout the process and provided me with a tune that is both powerful, reliable. and that exceeded all my expectations!I had the biggest smile on my face the first time I was able to drive it on the road and could not be happier with my experience! John and the team at InFront are the best! If you own a turbo Subaru, there is no better place to go. John just did a Stage 2 tune on my 2009 WRX with catted downpipe and 3 port EBCS. The results are incredible! This is how the car should come from the factory. More responsive, smoother power delivery, and more power! It seems like better fuel economy too.In addition to Johns exceptional tuning, he is friendly, accommodating, and a great communicator. Even though he is asked the same questions a million times by different customer, he takes the time to explain things in a very calm, logical fashion. I wish this was true for all auto shops.I had issues getting my stock downpipe off the night before the tune (rounded nut). I let John know and he said No problem, we can take care of that. Even though I had no appointment for additional work beyond the tune, John got me in and his team got the parts installed so that I wouldnt need to reschedule the tune. This was huge since I was coming from Kitsap County and the round-trip commute was close to 4 hours. It was a long day but well worth the drive and time.Keep up the good work InFront, Ill be back for more :)

Ive been looking/calling around for an opensource tuner/e-tuner to make edits to my map. Since my tuner in Midwest pulled my timing prior to moving in PNW, my car has been sluggish plus some boost leak issues. I fixed the boost leak and notice car is more responsive but still I can feel something is off, car hesitates on low rpm on higher gear highway driving when I get on the pedal a little. Sometimes car feels like no power. I pretty much got a NO for an answer from my inquiries to different tuners/e-tuners while my tuner in Midwest was playing hard to get. Fortunately got a go signal from Jan at Infront Automotive for a dyno tune adjustment. All I requested was to add timing thinking this would make my car feel what it used to be after it was initially tuned few years back. After the session it was reported that my car was leaning out on WOT and some tables appear to be off. (I cant believe Ive been running this map for years, good thing my motor was still in good condition.) John made a lot or remapping and tweaking. After that my car feels waaaayyyy better! They even fix my wiring that was nearly close to touching the downpipe. Cant wait to switch to an AP and do the pump gas/E-85 tune but priorities first. Thanks a lot Infront Automotive!

These guys are great! I had basically an engine swap and tuning done. Theyre good at listening and being realistic about what your performance goals and budget are. John is incredibly knowledgeable. If youre looking for a Subaru specialists in the PNW I definitely recommend these guys. Ill be back when Im ready to do more work on my STI.

Johnjohn is such an amazing tuner. He tuned my car 4-5 years ago. They built it then tuned it some more. My son recently came in for a tune and some suspension work and they took amazing car of him. I am putting this review up for me and my son to let people know about this place. I would definitely recommend people here!

If I could rate this zero stars, I would. If your looking for a tune, do not go here. My car was running perfectly fine before I brought it here. 2 weeks after my tune my motor blows. On top of that they left pliers in my engine bay!! My friend warned me not to go here and I should of listened. I wanted to give them a chance and now I dont have a car to get to work.

Great professional shop if youre serious about your Subaru. Did a trans swap on my 2002 WRX Wagon with a JDM 2005 WRX gearbox. VERY REASONABLE PRICES. They also did steering rack bushings. They definitely know turbo Subarus, thats for sure. After sale service was also great with all of my questions being answered quickly and knowledgeably. If youre in the Seattle area and youre considering the big trip down to Portland to go to Surgline, dont, its not worth it. GO TO INFRONT

I have been very pleased so far with the work and tuning done by John and his crew. They have some of the best pricing for a Subaru specific shop and Johns tune on my car has been excellent. Highly recommended.

Me and boyfriend took our car here to get it built last year by john last year and he did an amazing job. We came in a couple months ago to get our car tuned and its never been better. My boyfriend been coming here since he was still outback!!

John was able to get my Outback in and diagnosed with a couple hours and gave me a very detailed printout of the issues he found. Although, I was looking forward to a project and so I didnt hire John for the job, he was there to answer questions during the head gasket rebuild. 5/5 and I would definitely be bringing my vehicles back if a shop is needed.

This is the only place Ill take my car. Period. I dont own a cool, fancy car either... its a run of the mill Subaru. These folks just do that good of a job! Trustworthy, efficient, quality work. On top of that the staff is friendly.

Jan and the team at Infront Auto kept me well updated during the tuning process of my STi. After running generic OTS tunes for the last few years, it is a night a day difference after John does his magic. These guys know their Subaru’s and provided a wealth of information. I’ll be going back once I figure out future goals for my ride.

These guys are great. My car needed some major repairs, and John and his guys did great work on my car. The repairs changed a bit and were less expensive once they got inside the engine. And John took the time to make sure I knew what work they would be doing, and afterwards, what work they did. Highly recommended for any Subaru, but especially performance Subarus.

Rude employees. Money motivated. High horses. If you dont look like youre made of money, dont bother comming here, they wont take you seriously. Good thing their are a handful of mechanics to choose from on that block.

Going here was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. This is a real review, whoever is writing those other reviews has obviously never been there. This guy talked me into doing a timing belt there. Over $1000 and 10 days later my car is ruined. It runs so bad I refuse to drive it.I asked him if they could fix it and he just says there is nothing wrong with it. I can not even use it to get to work anymore. Now I have to try to trade it but no one will want it. This place is the worst ever.

Took my 2012 WRX here about a month ago to have a Garrett GTX3076R installed with Perrin’s rotated kit. Entire experience was awesome! John knows what he’s doing and provided some solid recommendations and an excellent tune. Had all my required maintenance done while they were at it, and to top it off, John was very flexible with my work schedule to get my car back to me. Couldn’t be happier.

So I went to Infront Automotive to get protuned and have some other work done to prep for the tune for 2016 Wrx. Prior to my visit John and I were emailing back and forth of what parts I should install before my tune. He was very helpful by suggesting certain parts and why they were beneficial. He seemed to have a full plate of work the day I came, because when I came close to closing time he was still tuning my car. With that said he stayed half a hour after closing to make sure my car was tuned right! He even sat down and explained what he did and answered all my question (after closing mind you). I really appreciated that! I work as a technician and know it can be stressful to stay after work, after a busy day. I defiantly recommend John and his team. My car is running great! I First Found out about Infront Though a good friend who owns a 05 WRX he had nothing but good things to say about John so when my 02 sensor went out on my 02 outback i decided to give them a try! John & Johnny are the best they care so much about the people they do work for not just about getting paid they do awesome work so they dont have to see you as often (unless its for the fun stuff!) even when they are booked up they will find a way to get you taken care of by referring you to the other great shops in the auburn area as they did for my Alignment & Brakes I will continue to come back for all my car needs!- Ria

I highly recommend John Jamerson (the shop owner) for a great tune on your Subaru. I brought my 2011 WRX to him with a freshly built engine I put together my self. I was having some knock feedback issues. He was nice enough to fit me in his busy schedule without an appointment and he was able to find a boost leak at one of the fuel injectors, fix it for me, then give me a break in tune all for a very reasonable price. He was honest with me, and didnt try to upsale a bunch of stuff I dont need. Now my car, even with a low boost break in tune, runs better than ever. I feel pretty comfortable driving it now and cant wait to go back for the performance tune! Thanks John, I appreciate your help and customer service.

So I had a very good customer experience with infront automotive. Very knowledgeable staff, quick to answer any questions I had and they helped me to achieve the horsepower goal that I wanted. Very fast with the service. I mean these guys do this day in and day out. The price was reasonable and I didn’t have any issues with performance, engine knock, or leaks after the work was done. They support veterans and are very friendly. My first opinion of the shop was that it felt welcoming and comfortable. I wasn’t given that awkward judgemental stare or bias like I didn’t belong. I live over two hours away and I commuted back to this location just for the quality and personal experience that I had here. I’d recommend it to anyone. I went in with my 04 sti with what I thought was the rack and pinion was going out. Turned out it was the linkage between rack and pinion and steering calum. Also I had my wheel bearing replaced. Good place to go to if you like your subaru!!!

John and his coworkers do great and efficient work. The work I had done on my 2016 STi included a few fuel system upgrades, turbo back exhaust, and protune. After a mistake by myself, I had to have the car towed to infront and John was able to diagnose my issue within and day and finish the rest of the upgrades over the next couple days. They were very accommodating as far as schedule goes as well. Parts and labor prices were on par with what I expected to see and they did great work. After the tune and the dyno, I essentially achieved a 50% upgrade in wheel horsepower and torque. In addition, power feels like butter all the way through the power band. I’d recommend John and the crew at infront automotive to anyone who needs a quick car fix or any number of upgrades, especially for a Subaru.

John John and the rest of the Infront Automotive team has done an immaculate job for me for the past year and a half. They did a swap on my 2005 Subaru WRX and placed a JDM 2.0l motor in it with a bunch of upgrades making it fast to its potential. They did an outstanding job with that build and I was so happy with how it was completed that I decided to continue coming back. I brought my 2007 Sti to Infront for some touch up work and a solid strong tune and I couldnt be any more satisfied with the numbers. Definitely have way bigger plans coming for the car within the next couple of months. They got me in and out super quick! Highly recommend them to anyone that needs easy maintenance or motor builds completed on their Subarus.

Well, I was pleasantly amazed. My poor old 2002 WRX with 208k miles on it was given a new life that makes me smile every time I get behind the wheel. After talking about my wishlist, John built, balanced and tuned a very nice new engine for me from ground up, with special pistons, rods, cam and even a larger hybrid turbo. I now have 320+hp at the wheels. This is my daily driver. The outside looks like just a normal old WRX until I step on the pedal. Within seconds I am thrust into a happy world.I live 50 miles north near Everett. Even though it is quite a trek down to InFront Automotive, I would never allow anyone else to touch my car. The knowledge that John and the rest of the crew have is a pleasant find.Thanks to the guys at InFront

John and company run a well-organized shop, and consistently do great work. Ive brought two different Subarus to them over the past couple years, including regular maintenance work and some dyno tunes.The guys are always ready to hang out and chat about car stuff, and dont have a problem with customers hanging around the actual shop area while they work. They are very knowledgable about their craft, and are always willing to provide an honest answer to a question. As well, their rates are reasonable, and if there is an issue with a job or a question about pricing you will receive a straight answer.I do a fair amount of my own work and will bring my car to them for maintenance/installs that I dont feel comfortable with, but they are more than willing to provide advice & check things over on the stuff that I installed myself.In short, I highly recommend John and Crew and Outback Auto.

Did my spark plugs and fuel pump. Great prices fast and professional work. Got a protune from them and my car no longer knocks on WOT pulls. Car feels great.
