The location on Ross St is great, no complaint at all! Nice place to study. Food, drink and people are great! Highly recommend. The location across from campus is ugh... I am kinda disappointed, because I love the other location. The wait is long, and once I ordered 20oz, they gave me 16oz with light ice, because they run out of cups, and honestly it wasnt even light ice.. :(
Was very happy with this local shop and a great new location with the house renovation! So glad that it was not scraped and Ross house was able to make such a great use of the space. A very friendly and helpful staff, delicious coffee clearly very well roasted and scrumptious food items as well! My favorite though is the wrap-around porch and all of the options for seating indoors is great! Just wish that they would require masking inside, because ya know, covid-19... only reason why four out of five stars– happy to change that if public health is taken into consideration. 👍
Absolutely delightful staff and excellent food. Our group tried the cinnamon roll...best ever!!! We also had a couple scones among us, delicious and soft, not dried out at all. Solid menu and coffee is great too!
Lovely Space to have a chat and a coffee.
The coffee and the chai are both outstanding. The batistas are super sweet and helpful. The place is adorable inside and out.
My husband and I tried out Ross House Coffee shop last Saturday afternoon - about 3-4pm. Looks like a great study spot or place to gather in small groups - lots of rooms and tables. We ordered 2 hot mochas, 1 with whip, 1 without. It took 20 minutes to receive an order. We were brought 2 iced coffees. Took another 10 minutes to receive the order again. My mocha did not have any chocolate in it. We also overhead other people receiving an incorrect order. I probably wont try them again. Coffee Cat and Well Read coffee shops seem to have it more together.
One of my favorite coffee shops in auburn! It’s definitely my favorite as far as the atmosphere goes! It’s such a great place to study or just catch up with friends. Its the perfect in between where you don’t feel like you have to be too quiet but you also don’t get easily distracted. The coffee/other drinks and snacks are good and they have a variety of options. My friends got a scone and a cinnamon roll and really enjoyed them! Plus, the employees are so friendly and extremely accommodating! Not to mention, they are super accommodating when it comes to customization of drinks (ex. using milk substitutes).
Unfortunately, the reviews about the wait times here are spot on. It took me 30 minutes, just standing and waiting, to get two lattes. I’ve never been in a coffee shop anywhere, ever, that took this long to make drinks. The people are really friendly (I guess this is a southern thing, but of course no one was wearing masks), but a wait time that long is just unacceptable. Oh and I’ll add— the two cops who came in got their drinks and giant bag of food immediately, so clearly they are capable of making a drink in less than 30 minutes.
Great coffee house to hang out with friends or get some work done. Really beautiful location in a renovated house, has a very local cultural feel. Coffee is great, they are in the process of creating a local roast, always friendly service, very convenient to campus but off the main trail enough to be a quiet reprieve from the noise around College Street.
My fav coffee shop ever!!! the kindest baristas you’ll meet :)
I love it here! It’s been so quiet since Auburn finals ended. I get to study all day here and the coffee and food are so yummy!! Been spending my days here lol
Awesome place cool area, waited 35 minutes for coffee and had a pretty bad piece of avocado toast…..didn’t even finish it.
Some of the best coffee in Auburn, they make a very good cortado, however the dark roast beans used for espresso arent the most pleasant for just a shot of that. Ross House does have a large selection of pastries and food, the chocolate muffins are excellent, especially when they are warmed up, the cinnamon rolls are decent, not as cinnamony as I would like. It can get busy there in the evening due to its proximity to 160 Ross. They do have a large patio out front to work or hangout on, along with ample parking around back.
One of my favorite coffee shops ever. I was a grad student at Auburn for two years and spent a ton of time here studying and hanging out with friends. This is definitely one of the things I miss most about Auburn. The coffee and scones are impossible to beat.
The best coffee shop in Auburn!! The people, coffee, pastries, and atmosphere are great!!
Best americano Ive ever had, and Ive had a lot of americanos.
Good atmosphere and delicious coffee... BUT I waited an hour for a white chocolate mocha and then over 30 minutes for the turkey guacamole sandwhich. The wait time is ridiculous, so if you come here just expect to spend awhile.
Edit: I thought this was the one on Mag. For my dumb self here’s a 5.
A great place to go and study or just relax and enjoy a nice variety of coffee drinks! The owner is super friendly and frequently shops where I work.
Great environment and awesome coffee and scones
Ross House is a great coffee shop. Its environment is relatively understated and quiet making it some of the better study/hangout in small groups. If youre looking for a cafe/pub environment Id suggest sitting outside. The baristas are all helpful and genuinely nice people.
I’ve only gone once, pre covid, but enjoyed my time there! I got a frozen lemonade that was pretty tasty. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll try the coffee. Very nice staff and loads of space to sit around and study or work.
Good vibes
Edit: Excellent service on all other regular visits. I think they were understaffed at ny visit below. Get the mocha muffin its the best.Waited 1 hour for an Americano, 30 more minutes for a scone, and even more for a cinnamon roll. It took a total of 2 hours to get my cappuccino and I got it as I was leaving. I told the manager to not make it and she made it right then for me.Two older gentlemen who ordered waay after us got their coffee and food first, so I told the manager. Her response was, they just fussed about it more.I understand it was a bit busy, but if I have to wait for 2 hours for coffee thats just bad. Invest in an additional espresso machine or something.Scone was good, cinnamon roll was cold even though I know it was made after i ordered. Cappuccino was good.
Been here couple of times and always been happy with service. Nice people at the desk. Quite friendly. Has good and various options on seating ambience. Macchiato is what I had and liked it.
Its a wonderful place with great coffee and muffins!
Love the energy here. The setup is also unique and unlike most coffee shops. Just like in a house, the space is split into different rooms which I like because you can choose to be in a quieter or more lively room depending on where you work best! The cold brew is great and I’ve had the paninis multiple times for a quick lunch. Definitely check them out!
Best atmosphere out of Auburn’s vast coffee shop scene, and perfect for studying. The building is a tastefully restored old house with several separate rooms to enjoy, and a cute community bookshelf. My only complaint is that this place has become a frequent host to rather loud Bible study groups and other student organization meetings, which can sometimes interfere with studying. Cushions for the chairs would be nice too! :)
I dont drink coffee, but my son loves this place. It is his favorite coffee house in town.
Love this place! Amazing coffee and muffins! Very cozy place to unwind, read and study.
Lovely, quaint shop in the heart of old Auburn!! Excellent coffee, and scrumptious sweets & snacks. The friendliest, most hospitable staff. Its a delightful treat to spend time here. Live music by local musicians on Friday & Saturday!!
Love this little place! Great homey shop with superb customers and management! Dont sleep on those cinnamon rolls.
Not very good coffee, was disappointed when I ordered a Chemex and they went to the back and pumped out premade coffee and the latte that was made was tasted like it was missing a shot. The place looked nice and a good place to study and hang out but won’t be going there to just get coffee.
The atmosphere is great and the products are good. I like it.
The best service the best latte I have ever had and wow those sweet rolls !
Great place, fantastic tea..oh and the cinnamon roll. Whoa. ...quiet enough to read/study.
I got a chai tea latte here and it was so delicious. Much better than Starbucks which is normally where I go. I also love the gorgeous front porch where I can bring my dogs to study. Great place.
Cute little shop! Im not someone who drinks a whole lot of coffee, but the drinks I did have were fantastic. Their matcha is one I particularly enjoy as well as some of their more seasonal drinks, including the most recent one I had with dark chocolate and raspberry. Parking is a little hassle, but Im able to walk to it as its very close to several apartments. The house itself is old in a good way and its clearly been updated well. It feels pretty welcoming and you can see that a good deal of care was put into its switch to a coffee shop. Prices are per usual for a small coffee shop, but I enjoy going to get some work done when I need to get out of the house. Definitely recommend!
A house that has been converted into a coffee shop. Very nice place to sit and relax while you enjoy your coffee. The coffee tastes great, and the staff is friendly. I’d recommend Rosshouse to anyone.
Great little coffee shop. Good energy, good pastries, good coffee. Ran a local political campaign and Toni was always very helpful in hosting events with us.
Apparently Rosshouse likes to welcome people to Auburn by calling the cops on them. We moved here two weeks ago, and because this Google page says that this coffee house is open until 11, my husband assumed that they were open when he went there at 9:30 last night and he found them closed with summer hours. Sitting in his car thinking about what he wanted to do, the employees called the police on him. I still cant believe it - never going back and telling everyone I meet to avoid this company.
Really cool setup, with seating spread through the rooms of an old house. Pretty good coffee. Surprisingly good cinnamon roll.
Cool renovation on the old house. Latte was good. Atmosphere noticeably trendy. In house coffee roaster in back. Staff prompt and friendly-ish around 2pm on a Tue. Have only been open about one month. No reason not to revisit again.
Wasnt busy and still waited forever
The overall feel of Rosshouse is great. There is plenty of seating throughout so you’re almost always able to find a place to chill. There is also seating on the front porch which will be nice when weather permits. I ordered a vanilla latte and the chicken salad. The latte was great. Just as I expected. The chicken salad has me a bit bothered, though. This is the first time I have ever been served chicken salad with rice it in and there was so much rice I could barely tell what I was actually supposed to be eating. I feel that the rice was there as filler to make the chicken salad go further which is a really cheap and shady way to save some money. Very disappointed and confused. This is only my first time here so I will likely go back to give it another try but it will take something really delcious to win me back. I’ll probably stick to my most recently found favorite coffee place in Opelika.
All smoothie product comes with chunk of ice in it.it makes it difficult to drink bc of ice blocks the liquid from the straw.I had 5 orders of smoothie and only one drink was easy to drink.but taste is okay.
Great coffee! One of the best in Auburn. However, I couldn’t get my cold drink in a non-disposable cup. It just felt like a waste of a lid, straw, sleeve, and plastic cup. They have reusable mugs for hot cofffee, though.
Best iced chai I have ever had. What else do you need, right? Great renovations and friendly staff. Went at lunch time on a weekday and slowly got busy by the time I left, around 5. Plenty of seating.
Delicious coffee, chai tea etc. Across from police station, good environment and service
Great coffee and treats. Service was outstanding. Looking forward to returning.
Great coffee and atmosphere. I like the outdoor seating option as well!
The moment I stepped through the door, the delightful scent of pastries caresses me. Coffee was tasty and the baristas take their time to brew. Atmosphere is homely cuz the building is literally a house. Will totally be back
Sitting with our grands enjoying coffee, smoothies, and hot chocolate!
Best coffee. Such a cozy place.
I love this place specially the porch. I just wish they don’t put their coffees or cold drinks on plastic containers when u order something to stay there. It’s a waste of plastic!
Cute place. Home feel with good coffee and snacks to pair with it
This is by far my favorite coffee shop in Auburn. The environment is such an awesome escape, and it feels like a house in Nashville! The Revelator coffee they get is much better than Prevail, and I hope they get from other distributors in the future!!
One of the best places to get Coffee! I would recommend Chai Tea Latte (Spiced).
Its a cute place but we waited 20 minutes for 2 coffees with no one else in line. Eventually my boyfriend went to check and the baristas hadnt even started our order. Espresso was burnt.
SOOO GOOD WOW! Had the pimento cheese sandwich and it was ~amazing~ and the staff was so kind!! I’m truly blown away!
The food is delicious. The coffee is fresh. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming. I highly recommend.
Great service. Good place to study at.
Very slow service. There is a weird echo in the house, but its still a good place to hang alone. Not a good place to catch up with friends or groups
Best coffee in alabama
We love Rosshouse! Toni can ship her coffee anywhere in the world!
Great coffee but a bit pricey
Such a nice place. Friendly staff! Cozy inside and great chai ;) A new favorite.
Neat place. Limited menu but coffee and atmosphere are great
I had a pineapple mango smoothie and it was out of this world I think everybody should go there and visit him its got a lot of Heritage built into the establishment
While I have only visited once for a delicious Mocha Frappe, my kidos are regulars and its a great spot to get a little studying in, meet a client for coffee, or just hang out with your friends.
Wonderful service, great coffee and sweet place to meet friends.
Great coffee, great atmosphere, and great service!
I enjoyed the homey atmosphere of this place, as well as the delicious coffee and pastries. The only thing making this place 4 stars is the service. It seemed like the baristas were bored and I almost felt like they were reluctant to serve me. They were nice though, just had RBF.
Slowest “baristas” I’ve ever seen. It should not take 20 minutes for one drink and a pastry when there are only three tickets in front of me. Not efficient at all!
Great place to start your day for coffee and have a quiet time in prayer.
Favorite coffee shop in Auburn 🥰☕️
Went in yesterday. Nice people, quality coffee, very appealing interior design
Great location, interesting interior, good coffee, you wont be disappointed
Incredible atmosphere, awesome staff, great place to study or just chill.
Parking is tough, but service and selections inside are awesome.
Great coffee and sticky buns very friendly staff
My appointment was delayed and I needed to eat something light. I was pleasantly surprised by the panini sandwich I had: Yum!!!
Great coffee shop!!
Great location, scones, and service!
Great atmosphere and real cappuccinos!! Like they make in Italy.
Awesome place to study, hangout, meetings and ☕ coffee.
Love taking my daughter here
Fantastic coffee and the pastries, delicious
Nice relaxing place and great coffee
Quiet calm atmosphere good for laptops
Awesome place, need more tables and chairs :)
Barista was a total bro, think his name was matt or something
Great service and coffee.
Great coffee and a wonderful space.
