This is Penn Valley one.We ordered 3 meals. They were overcooked, dry, as soon as we got home we called. My husband dropped mine off as I was at the ranch. They he went to the home. We called and Carlos was rude and called us a lier. And we just wanted a free meal. We are retired and could buy all his restaurants. That was far from the truth. The fish was form. Not even whole body. The stuff at the market is better. Will never go to this restaurant again. 50.00 for 3 fish and chip. And the frys grease was under in the container floating. See pictures

A one star rating is far too generous. Went there and sat in the bar area to watch a football game and get pizza. If you like Dominos level pizza and listening to the local drunk hayseeds say F’ing this and F’ing that while the waitresses flirt with the drunks for tips then this is your place. I was embarrassed for them as several families with kids looked very uncomfortable at each other. I won’t be back. Next time I’m heading over the hill to Grass Valle or Nevada City. Adios.

Carlos the owner is awesome .. I had locked my keys in my car at the laundry mat his son happened to walk by and said ask my dad he can help .. well he did .. he didnt give up when it seemed we couldnt open it .. he just kept at it I am very thankful for Carlos tonight .. very friendly staff and seems super clean too .. Ill be in to try some food soon thnx Carlos and son

First time there, dont know why I waited so long, got the coconut shrimp salad, was wonderful and a lot of food! Highly recommend trying it out

I ordered alfredo and it was almost overflowing, and the shirly temple I got had 3 cherries as well. We took my great grandma out for lunch, who struggles with eating hard foods, and they specifically made her meal a certain way for it to be easier to eat. I was overall very pleased by my dining experience, and I really appreciate all the staff

The food wasnt bad but there was a hair in my wifes fish and chips that we found as she was eating it. The service was sub par. We only had our server come see us twice our entire meal.

Some of the best food in the area. Always busy and service remains awesome. Cocunut prawns with delicious house chili sauce is one of my favorites. Pizza is awesome. House jalapeño Ranch is awesome. Great burgers and fries also. Penntucky burger is my favorite. Great place, people and food.

The food was VERY good. The service was kinda slow, especially while waiting for check. Some of the staff were NOT using masks. Our waitress was but the woman who seated us was NOT. Saw a few other staff bare-faced. This was at least a week BEFORE the mask requirement was lifted.

Best fish and chips ever. This small town joint is clean with crispy fries, excellent burgers, and cold beer.

Considering the outrageous circumstances, these folks deserve 6 stars. Solid, well prepared meals. Great selection. Excellent service and “can-do-damnit” attitude.I really didn’t care that I’m sitting outside, under a portable heater, rain in the forecast and watching cars / trucks jockey for parking. Give them a try. They deserve the biz....and you just might get a nice surprise!Bravo!

Absolutely terrible experience. My boyfriend and I have gone to this place many times, and each time, the service and food quality was worse than the time before, but we kept giving them the benefit of the doubt and tried to make excuses for them like “it’s busy” or “they’re close to closing”, but this time was absolutely appalling and there will not be a next time. Upon entering, we were told that, because it was Mother’s Day and they were “busy”, it would be about a 45 minute wait for the food. The restaurant was not nearly as busy as we’ve seen it before, but we were understanding and didn’t mind waiting. The first time the waitress came to ask for our order, we asked if we could have a little bit more time to decide. We then didn’t see her again for over a half an hour. We placed our order and waited about another half an hour for it to come out, which wasn’t terrible. By this time, we had both finished our drinks and tried very hard to get a waitresses attention so we could ask for refills, but we weren’t able to get our drinks refilled until shortly before we left. I got a chicken tender salad, and the chicken was almost to salty to eat, especially without anything to drink, and my boyfriend ordered a California burger that was bland and soggy with grease. After we got our food, a couple came in and was told by the waitress that they were closing in 10 minutes and they might not be able to serve them. My boyfriend and I were confused because it was 7pm and the restaurant closes at 8pm. The owner then came out and told the couple that they were closing the kitchen because they ran out of food. The couple told them they just wanted salads and the owner said that would be fine. After we ate a bit, my boyfriend told the waitress that he understood that the kitchen was closed, but asked if he could possibly get a root beer float. The waitress said that that should be no problem, but she would ask the chef. She came back a while later and told us that the chef “didn’t want to make a root beer float” but she could get him a bowl of vanilla ice cream and a cup of root beer so he could make one himself! We were confused and annoyed, but we decided to just get two small vanilla “sundaes”. It ended up just being a scoop of Dreyer’s vanilla ice cream. The two bowls would have been $6, but the waitress only charged us for one “just in case (?)” Once we finished our desert and paid, the couple still had yet to receive their salads, and another family, who had ordered their food before they closed the kitchen, at this point about 30 minutes ago, were told that they couldn’t make their food because they didn’t have chicken, and the owner got angry at them for being upset by this. Overall horrible customer service and terrible food quality for the price.

Awful experience. Food is fair but I ordered a glass of wine (probably not a good idea here). It had clearly gone bad. I owned a wine bar and have had a of experience with with wine going bad. After switching the wine and getting another bad glass, we tried to explain that the wine may have been delivered from a over heated truck. The owner/manager (?) became irate. He brought our bill before we finished eating and charged us for both glassed. Heclearly wnted

Food is not worth what you pay for . Very bland no flavorer and over cooked ! Only thing that was good was the Garlic ringsWe didnt even finish are meals. I guess its ok for the locals because there isnt much of a choice in this adorable town. The waitress was very unprofessional it took her 30 mins to come do refills and didnt come to check on us at all and it wasnt busy either ! Sorry honey no tip for you ! Very disappointed and will never be going back !!

This restaurant have good price, they prepare pastas, sandwiches, pizzas. Good place for family, it have a game room with machine for kids. A clean place, they have tv. And the bathroom are clean. Parking lot is in front, you can see the restaurant from the street. Some tables are in a level floor. Fast and God food. They have vegan food too.

You won’t regret it! Great menu with plenty of options. The wings and pizza were fabulous, highly recommend if you are in town.

New owner? I called in an order for BEEF RIBS....the young lady that took our order did not know the difference between beef nor pork ribs....When we called in the order, we asked her 4 or 5 times if they were BEEF RIBS....each time we got a YES....since we cannot find BEEF RIBS in a restaurant, I ordered a large order...When I arrived 6-20-2020......6:pm....I was given my order at a table outside of this restaurant, was handed 6 very small containers...I knew they could not be BEEF RIBS. being the boxes were so small...The owner came out...he told me this is what I ordered....I responded with NO IT IS NOT, we ordered BEEF, the cook told us YES THEY ARE BEEF....He asked me what is he going to do with $88.00 worth of ribs now??? I told him to TAKE IT OUT OF YOUR SO CALLED COOKS PAY....!!! He and I went around and around, and YES others were standing around waiting for their orders....what he was waiting for was for me to agree to pay for them anyway.....or make him an offer for the ribs...NO, it is not what I ordered, I want my money back....I got my money back, will NOT eat/order there again. I would like to add....no matter WHAT restaurant you place a take out order through....OPEN THE CONTENTS before you leave....I am willing to make a wager your order is wrong!!!!!

Always a good time. Food is always top notch and if something is wrong they have no issue fixing it. I havent had something I did not enjoy at this restaurant. Definitely a great place for gatherings and a good beer as well.

We met with friends at this spot for dinner. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we felt very good. The meal was yummy. We enjoyed every moment and we shall definitely come back again. Warmly recommended.

Omgoodness. So, so delicious. Three guests and three favorable meals. Well definitely be back. Really nice and helpful staff.They try EVERYTHING in the SAME oil as their shellfish (cross contamination is a no no, but hey, whatever.) So if you will die from shellfish, dont eat anything fried. Limits the menu quite a bit. 🤷‍♀️

Great food and service!

We ordered the famous Fish and chips, the blue cheese appetizer bread and the chicken tortilla soup. Everything was absolutely fantastic, very tasty and the service was fantastic. To top all that off the bathrooms are very clean! We will be back!

I ordered a bottle cap burger without tomatos and pickle, and after driving home with my takeout, I found I was given the Californian, which I couldnt eat due to an Avocado allergy. Also the burger came with everything on it including tomatoes and pickle.

Friendly people, good food at a reasonable prices. They have hot sandwiches, great hamburgers, and really good pizza. And very, very good salads! The service is super nice, and the menu is varied enough for the whole family. They even have a game room for the kids.

The two of us ordered a medium combination pizza and a picture of Coors Light draft beer. The beer was served cold and the pizza served hot, but that’s where the good ended. The pizza was plastered with incredibly salty sausage and what tasted and looked like processed cheese. We were both hungry, but neither of us could handle more than a couple bites. As for the beer, it was totally flat and tasteless. A couple sips of that were all we could handle as well.We brought the issues up to the manager, who was not at all sympathetic or friendly. I would describe our interaction with him as a “walk-by.” As he walked passed us, he told us everything was fine and to pay the bill. He had no interest in discussion or tasting the food or beer. Of course, we paid the bill, then drove into Grass Valley where we found some good food and real beer. Overall, I would say that the manager’s boorish conduct struck us as more problematic than the food.

For the prices this place is great. Good variety of foods. Pizza is good, ravioli good, spaghetti good, taco good. So it good to great. Family friendly restaurant and a bar those who like to eat and drink.

Be careful what you ask for. We ordered a large pizza, half meat, half veggies. The server told us the split pizza could only have one kind of sauce, but did not explain how they charge for this type of order or tell us we could save money by ordering 2 small pizzas instead. They charge you the full price of the highest price pizza, which I have no problem with. Then they add on $1.99 for each ingredient of the other half, so half veggies are charged 6 times $1.99, making our 14 inch pizza cost $35. So, the bill was $23 for a meat pizza for half the meat, and another $12 for veggies. When we questioned the bill, the server apologized for not explaining the policy and took off 15%, which was about $9.50. Still not happy, but had no choice but to pay up. Eat somewhere else if you want to split the pizza.

This visit was great! We got the BBQ Ribs and the Breaded Chicken Strips...both cooked perfectly, very tasty!! The waitress (Jessie) was very attentive, and quick with the service. Fantastic service! Usually when we go I would give the rating a 3 because we usually wait at least 30 minutes for our order to be taken and then another 30 to get our food...I believe Jessie is a big reason why it went so well...she really really showed us excellent customer service!

The Northridge in Nevada city is better. I didnt like the service or the food as much as the one in Nevada city. Definitely not the healthiest option.

Kind of a dive and the food is either a total over the top hit or a complete miss, but its consistent. Their pizzas and salads are awesome! There burgers and sandwiches not so much. Good overall and the staff is always friendly.

Went here with family to see my uncle while on vacation. They had the best pizza Ive had in years. I got a Calzone that had pineapple in it that was just mouth watering. I would recommend to anyone. The staff was friendly and they even have a bar if you arent so hungry. I wish there was pizza like this where I come from.

Every time we go to Penn Valley we make sure to have lunch here. Wait staff is nice and take good care of you. Prices are not that bad and you get a good meal.

Good food, great service only problem I had was on 11/8/18 I went to get the penntucky burger. I gave them my card and the machine turned off during the transaction so it charged my account and took the money out of my account but I left with no food.. other than that it was great all around....

Food is improving. Our server was very nice, but when we had to rush to the front desk to ask for an emergency glass of water for my grandson who burned his mouth the staff was pretty rude. We asked several times but people seemed to be more interested in carrying on social conversation. It was not a good experience.

This branch of Northridge is okay, its super dirty though. The air filters are always crammed with black dirt and grime, the food usually gives a stomachs ache. The prices alone for beer are beyond expensive, I mean 5 dollars for a coors? Not for me. I would recommend the Nevada City branch of Penn valleys Northridge. All the cooks are ununderstandable Mexicans to, hard yo enjoy a meal.

We had 8 people, so the owner sat us in the game room.had to keep on checking for service. When we got our food, half the meal was cold and over done. Went to support a good cause but finally my wife understands and will not return.

Service was great and cost was average for a country kitchen. However the food was only a 5. Could have been an off night (Wednesday) being the reason.

Ordered the fish and chips and for $12.99 they werent worth it...the breading was gross, hardly Any fish meat in the batter, so server brought me another piece and I couldnt eat it...breading hard, brittle, and fish inside didnt seem cooked properly.. I did get a whopping 10% discount on fish I couldnt eat..i wont return...I dont understand the Great reviews...perhaps they are from people at the bar...To be fair, I havent tried anything else, besides the poor excuse of what They call fish and chips...what a joke
