This is hands down my absolute FAVORITE Vegan restaurant in Austin Texas!!!!!!!! Out of all the places Ive tried, nothing can top the flavor profiles this place has to offer. I didnt even like Tofu before coming here. Now, Im addicted to it.... Particularly the Tofu scramble/ Tofu from Bouldin Creek Cafe though. Seriously there is something about it that is indescribable. The taste delicious & I cannot recreate it! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to try Vegan food or who is already Vegan craving a sweet treat!
Finally went back since the pandemic started. Food and service is still top notch! we went earlier than we normally do (actual breakfast time) so parking was much easier.
The best vegan breakfast tacos in town by far. I had the Neil to as with tofu scramble. It’s not easy making a tasty tofu scramble but they nailed it, so much flavor. Also the tacos are pretty good size. You guys enjoy!!
One of the very best vegetarian / vegan spots I’ve ever been to. And my parents owned one of the very first vegetarian restaurants in the US back in 1978. This is a whole new level of options, flavor and cuisine type! Thank you for an overflowing menu. I got the masaman curry and the folks I was with got the egg options. I was torn for the tofu egg options, since Covid ruined my egg tastebuds. But I’ve been so excited for a place that rivals my own tofu scrambles. See you again soon! And I’ll be arriving earlier or less people since the line was soooooooo long - over an hour wait. But it’s a beautiful day with fantastic staff. Love love!Side note from the table - zucchini migas are very good - opt for the refried beans.
So far so good, the best breakfast sandwich 🥪 I ever had in my life vegan or not! Wow wish Htown had this yummy stuff 😋. Coffee was small but still delicious and Creamy. Recommend the tofu renedict veg version and I got the matcha latte with oat milk. Like that they use sustainable containers, overall coming back for sure!
I’m writing this moments after finishing Bouldin Creek Cafe’s take on a BLTA. Simply put, I’m blown away.As someone who eats vegan/vegetarian as much as they can, but still eats meat from time to time, this sandwich is right up there with some of the best, “real” BLTs I’ve had in my life. Put the pickles on the sandwich! You won’t regret it!The only very minor quibble I had was that I wish I had more salsa with my chips. Perhaps the problem was that the salsa was so good that I didn’t leave enough for the entire bag!I’m only visiting Austin for a short while, but I know that I’ll be back again before I leave. :)
I have been to Bouldin Creek many times over the years. It is always the #1 place I recommend because of their many delicious options. Whether you are a meat eater looking for a healthy filling non meat dish, a vegetarian or a vegan, you will find something delicious to eat. You can not really go wrong here. I do not think there is anything left I have not tried. It is ALL delicious. Bouldin has handled the pandemic by offering delicious curbside food. They have prioritized people over profit while the elected leaders like Abbot have put people at risk by prioritizing profit over people. I wish our leaders had half the heart of the Bouldin crew! They truly care about the quality of the food they serve and the community that they serve. The world needs more places like Bouldin. Austin is one lucky town!!!
Best brunch. Loved our server Ashley. She’s so fast and friendly.
Best veg food in town. PLEASE BRING BACK CURBSIDE OPTION!
Hands down my favorite place to go if I’m wanting to show people great vegan options
Bouldin is mostly vegetarian and vegan but not militantly so. We enjoyed a dinner one night and liked it so much we went back for breakfast. Great, high energy servers made our experience that much better. You dont miss meat in a good vegetarian meal
Fantastic service! Our waitress was so sweet. The masala mocha was excellent!! Patio was adorable and all of the egg dishes we got were delicious! We can’t wait to come back to try the vegan blueberry cornbread!
My wife is vegetarian and I’m not, but we both agree that the food was incredible! Stopped here for the first time after a long hot hike and we will definitely be coming back. Best veggie burger I’ve had in a long time. For the time being they are curbside, but our limited/distanced interaction with staff was pleasant. Would highly recommend to anyone, vegan/vegetarian or not.
Health conscious, eco-friendly cafe offering hearty meatless meals. Very casual and friendly and quick service.Sweet potato tamales? What!? Don’t mind if I do. A very unique twist to a traditional dish. It had the sweetness of a sweet potato but the texture of a tamale. The sunrise granola was stuffed with apples and bananas with loose oats covered with a very creamery yogurt. Couldn’t leave without trying their carrot pumpkin cake which was a dream come true for me. One of my all time favorite flavors when it comes to desserts. Enjoy my foodie connoisseurs.
Awesome restaurant. Food was delicious! Service was super friendly and prompt. Cant wait to go back
Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of what we ordered but the food was delicious! I highly recommend to order the Veggie Royale, I’ve tried many vegan burgers from different places but this one keeps being a winner!
One of the best and healthiest treats. I do hope they open up dining soon. Until then, I am extremely grateful for the super efficient and friendly takeout service.
Absolutely delicious!! Order the Vegan eggs Benedict it is one of the best vegan foods I have ever experienced. Let’s just say I had it 2x in one week.
We LOVED this place. I cannot wait to return
Amazing vegan options and service. Highly recommend this place! Great coffee too!
One of my favorite restaurants in Austin! Ive loved pretty much everything Ive tried, with the breakfast food and the grilled cheese con hierbas being my longtime favorites. The service always seems to be timely, even when theyre pretty busy. They also have a long table that seems to be a popular spot for getting some work done while you snack.
Bouldin Creek is by far one of the best vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Austin, and always will be. Their rotating menu is always on point and their food has never disappointed! Bouldin provides the most wholesome vibes and has the kindest staff ever, they’ll definitely make sure you’re taken care of. If you’re traveling through Austin and need veggie or vegan comfort food: look no further, you’ve found the best we have to offer! PS: tamale Tuesday is the best day of the week and they have the most delicious blueberry cornbread! :*
Atmosphere was good. Staff was awesome. Food was perfect. Will eat here again!
Bouldin Creek is my pick if I only have one chance to eat when in Austin. I had the Zucchini and Egg Migas with a glass of Island Fog. Just absolutely incredible! Everything I have had there has been the stuff of dreams. The word is definitely out on this place so expect a wait time but they turn tables quick and the staff hums like a well avocado oiled machine when busy. Vegan, vegetarian or omnivore you will find something you love or you need a doctors appointment to check your heart.
Only reason I gave this place 5 stars instead of 6, is because they don’t have a second location up north in Georgetown where I live.
I ordered the stir fry with noodles, which was quite good aside from the very mild chili sauce and an over abundance of the stir-fry sauce. My partner, on the other hand, got the massaman curry. That was a whole different story. On her first bite, she made a strange face, so I asked to try. It was a little bit like walking into a cheap candle shop with the amount of cardamom and cloves that they added to the curry. It was, to say the least, not very good. Weve both had massaman curries at other restaurants, and they have been both much less aggressive to taste and had completely different flavor profiles. Anyways, this place has lots of options on their menu, so we will probably be back to try some more (but definitely not the massaman curry again).
Let preface by saying I am in no way a vegan… but that was delicious. Even my dog loved it, and he’s even more of a picky eater than I am. “I’m pretty sure I could eat this queso forever…” - My Wife. The take out thing is no big deal, really easy to order and quick delivery to the curbside or the tables outside. I’m sure they’ll be back inside in due time. I would put pictures of the food but… we ate it already!
Great options, was a bit disappointed with the curry as it had a bit too much clove. Will give it another chance, manager and staff were excellent!
Ordered breakfast tacos, curb-side pickup. Partner got a tofu taco which was excellent. I ordered the egg tacos but made the mistake of getting them without cheese, leaving them a bit bland. Great overall though!
Get Tarzens Big Salad. add some crispy tofu. I dont love salads but I regularly crave this one. takeout during the pandemic is still great quality.
Holy whoa the food is good here. I got the Tofu Renedict, which was quite possibly the best vegan breakfast item Ive never had. Also tried the vegan blueberry cornbread, which was also quite good. Friendly staff, fast service, good atmosphere, and they were happy to do a takeout order. Im just visiting Austin, but will for sure stop here every time I return.
Omg this place is so good. Everything they do is done so well, from the curry to the migas. Best vegan restaurant in town.
Vegan vegetarianI had grilled cheese with real cheese and the Taxi driver dessert. Yummy.
I miss hanging out inside the building, but Bouldin’s food offerings are just as good curbside. Cool hummus sandwich with OJ on a hot summer day. Or curry bowl to keep me warm during the winter… Bouldin’s just dope.
Phenomenal service with phenomenal food.I cant say enough good things about this place. We loved it so much that we plan on returning tonight. The staff was very friendly and very charming as well. If youre looking for charming vegan cuisine look no further.I ordered the The Renedict, a tofu based eggs Benedict. Im still dreaming about having it on front of me again. My friend ordered El typico and that was delicious as well, though Im not sure what was on it.Staff was super friendly and made great conversation. A waiter told us about their cousin and a hidden spot in their stomach for extra dessert. Honestly I could go on about their service and Im sure Ill have more to tell after our next visit there (likely tomorrow morning)
Vegan resto-cafe at crossroads of South 1st and Mary. Large indoor seating with funky interiors. Has a large outdoor patio, which was recently opened too. Tried their omelettes and tacos, and both were delicious. My favorite omelette is Inner Sun. As a sandwich, I go for Veggie Royale and love it. Staff is super friendly, esp Micaela 🙏
Food taste great but the packaging when order online is terrible. They use one bag to put everything and the bottom plates gets squeezed really bad.
Everything here is so good. Curbside service is super fast and easy and the packaging is on point
I loved it here! It was so nice! The staff was super friendly the layout was super cute and quirky! I don’t want to say it’s like perfect for studying but it’s a pretty good spot (just bring your devices fully charged, outlets are limited) Even in primetime grinding hours the place wasn’t like packed and rowdy. Noise levels were pretty good Kinda a mid level chatter, the music wasn’t too loud which is always a blessing. They have a nice patio, coffee bar and dining section so that’s pretty cool and don’t get me started on the vegan and vegetarian options!!!I had pie for the first time in my life and it was deliciously vegan! All I ordered was an everything bagel with hummus and it smacked!
Despite a pandemic, break ins, and burglaries it’s still one of the best and most consistent vegan/vegetarian restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life
Great food, mostly vegan menu (otherwise vegetarian)! Even my non-vegan mom enjoyed the food. We ordered ahead with contactless delivery, food was brought out in no time. Super enjoyable experience and I will be bringing my omnivore family sometime.
Our first experience of Austin, besides the airport, was this great little cafe. We all really enjoyed our vegan meals. The Tamale Breakfast with sweet potato and pecan tamales and tofu scramble, which was slightly dry but very flavorful, was delicious. Its rare to find vegan tamales that arent in the freezer section at the market, and these were fresh and uniquely tasty. I also enjoyed the London Fog withboat milk. My family also enjoyed their meals - vegan blueberry cornbread, the Renedict, and a Banana Berry Smoothie. Service was friendly. We sat on the patio, which was a little like a wind tunnel with all the fans, but we stayed cool on a hot summer morning, so we were grateful for that! We just wish we had been staying in the area so we could have tried more of their dishes!
This is by far one of my favorite vegan/vegetarian places in Austin! The menu has a wide selection, so its fitting for whatever your taste buds are feeling that day. The tofu scramble and the chickpea chicken salad sandwich were delicious, and make sure to start off with some of the chips and salsa! It has a very eccentric atmosphere, and the outside patio is dog friendly (with water bowls).
As a vegetarian, I usually dont go to vegetarian restaurants because they are often over priced and the food is underwhelming...Not the case with Bouldin Creek Cafe.I had the vegetarian BLT and added cheese. Flavorful, generous portion is just one of the many reasons I loved my meal. I added the blueberry cornbread and felt I had the best of both savory and sweet for Sunday brunch.🤗😋
Lots of love from Denver. My favorite vegan spot EVER, anywhere. The staff goes above and beyond, the food always BANGS and the location is perfect. My one piece of advice... order an extra blueberry cornbread to take home! you won’t regret it!
Great vegan spot. Even my non vegan gf loved it. Grilled cheese was rich and plenty cheesy. Potato salad was spot on too. Covid and environmentally cautious establishment. 10/10
So so yummy! I’m so happy to have found this delicious vegetarian cafe. Delicious sandwiches, sides, and coffee. Excited to come back!
Bouldin is amazing! I recently moved to the West coast and i miss it dearly. I’m so excited to go to Austin and order a Timmy taco in June! The owner and the staff are just awesome and it’s the best tofu scramble you’ve ever had.
This is the absolute best veggie/vegan coffee shop in Austin. Kudos to Leslie Martin for remaining curbside to go during this pandemic and keeping her staff/ customers safe. I know we are all looking forward to the day we can sit at that bar and have a mimosa, but, in the meantime....I’ll keep ordering online and support this wonderful establishment. Atx Reviews don’t let the door hit you on your way out.
I -love- Bouldin Creek Cafe. The food is consistently wonderful. Comfort food without being greasy, overly salty, under flavored, anything. The dish I order, the same every time, is -always- exactly what I want.I wish I lived closer simply so I could be a regular.
An Austin gem!Best veggie food and the team is top notch.
5 stars aint enough! We had tofu neal taco with flour tortilla, apple spiced baked oatmeal with coconut milk/soy milk, Renedict with tofu scrambles, and vegan blueberry cornbread. I love tofu neal, it was the best tofu scrambles I ever had! I love how they cooked mushroom, tofu and greens with their seasoning, crispy, flavorful and still soft inside the tofu. I didnt need any vegan cheese on it. I like baked oatmeal as well, I never needed brown sugar at all, it has sweetness from golden raisins and apples in oatmeal. Renedict wasnt something I want again, cornbread had a bitter after taste from baking soda? My boyfriend is not vegan and he appreciate that they have organic pasture raised eggs. Wish I had more time to try other menu items.
This place is AMAZING!!! Its been recommended to me by so many vegan friends of mine so I had to come check it out. I ordered the Wanna B.L.T.A and it was to die for. Its such a cozy little place, the staff were friendly, the servings are big, and the food is delicious. It was pretty packed but we still only had to wait 10 minutes for our food so that was really nice. Ill definitely be coming here again.
Went twice in 2 days! Its fresh and tasty. Busy spot (even at a non-peak time) but totally worth the wait. Orders were brought out exactly as requested and hot and fresh. I had migas with tofu the first day. Firm and well seasoned! The 2nd day I had a hummus sandwich that was delish! Wish I had something like this back home!
This is our favorite spot in Texas. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner they never disappoint. It’s also our favorite restaurant to bring out of town guests to, they have something for everyone. And not for nothing ... best veggie BLT on the planet. Fight me.Also want to express gratitude for their Covid response and continuing curbside service keeping staff and guests safe.
Leslie the owner is one of the most loving small business owners I know. I am so thankful for her keeping Bouldin open and being able to continue feeding Austin. Also the corn bread is amazing!
Bouldin Creek Cafe never disappoints. This is a go to for my partner and I after long work days and the service of the staff and quality of the food never fails. Their Vegan Reuben is hands down the -best- one I have ever had. Anything on the menu is worth a shot. 10/10, will always recommend.
Perhaps it would be time to move to a food truck or trailer rather than occupying such awesome space and totally wasting it by not allowing people to dine in at your restaurant ? Fear is the lowest vibration and at this point this business is only toxic to the area and all the wonderful people who used to dine here. Please open for regular business or leave the area and allow a business which actually wants to be serve the community take the space. Your neighbors are very tired of your toxic culture.
With a reasonable wait time, friendly prices, wide variety of food and drinks and a friendly atmosphere I knew I liked this place before I even took a bite. I loved every bite of my omelette and even tried and loved what my friend got. Going here was a absolute delight and has something for everyone, this place is a model establishment and a gold standard for how other restaurants should be.
I love this place! The staff is fun and personable and the food is amazing! As a native Austinite it is wonderful to have an Austin staple that really keeps the vibe of the city. I must say its also refreshing to have a restaurant continue to offer curbside. As a mom to twins that have compromised immune systems, I feel confident getting food from Bouldin due to their safe practices and exceptional standards as we navigate our way through this pandemic. Thank you guys for everything you do!
If you are vegan/vegetarian, you must come here when you visit Austin. This place is absolutely incredible. I guess theres a reason why its called the best vegan/veg restaurant in Austin. The tamales with sweet potatoes were so satisfying, mixed together with the refried beans, veggies, and tofu. The veggie chorizo taco was indulgently heavy and satisfying for a vegan taco. Top it off with a chai latte with coconut milk, I can firmly say this was a divine experience, for an extremely affordable price.
This is one of the finest restaurants serving vegan and vegetarian meals and boy is the food tasty! The dishes are thoughtfully crafted and the flavors go well together. Loved the Chipotle pecan pesto which we gorged on before realizing the need for a picture 😋 you know then the food is delish. The farmers garden tamales are yum. My favourite was the Bello melt and the mushrooms are so well seasoned! Definitely a must try for tonnes of vegetarian options but also for people who believe only meaty foods are tasty!
The place have amazing food and Ive had better experiences, and I used to bring New vegan people in town to it, however today was my last time here :) I dont need no comment from management to say whatever Im just done with the place .. Good luck
This place was so, so delicious. Specifically the chipotle Veggie Royale with vegan cheese and jalapenos - absolutely mouthwatering. The salsa had a fantastic savory, smoky flavor. Cute cafe environment, casual spot for vegetarian dishes. My waitress was attentive and kind. Ill definitely be going back!
This is the best business that’s ever existed on earth. The best food, the best people, the best vibe. I can’t wait to one day safely sit and have a coffee and vegan blueberry cornbread on the patio while my partner reads me my horoscope. Miss you guys
Everything we got was delicious... My favorite was the vegan Reuben!! Thank you !!
This place is awesome, and healthy!Sadly I mainly just eat here ToGo now just due to busyness. The staff always seems nice, it’s extremely rare they mess up my to go order, and when they did in the past they made it right. In case you missed the news this is a vegetarian/vegan place... that means no bacon or beef patty’s ..... from a healthy perspective totally worth it!!!I highly recommend you try the red pesto. That stuff is bomb!!!! If ordering ToGo I’ll usually order a extra side, and that’s one of the few things I double check for since so delicious.Favorite dishes ares the veggie royal, inner sun omelette, and joe smokin omelette !!Great place
Updated: Still as amazing as ever. Show me a vegetable hater and then knock their socks off by bringing them here. The salads will change their life. The Tarzan’s big salad is incredible - the broccoli and portobello mushroom are coated in this divine spiced yeast seasoning. All the ingredients are fresh and high quality. You feel like you’re boosting your body when you eat this stuff.Original: I had the most amazing Buddha bowl here and still dream about it to this day.
First off, Im not bohemian 👴so perhaps I was out of my element. No prob. The outdoor seating was good for effect, but my weight is not well supported by the plastic deck chairs. Everyone was very nice. Service was good 👍. Coffee cups ☕ are eclectic home and garage sale variety. Coffee...no go. Anyhow, thank you for your service, maybe another time.
This place is amazing. Fast and friendly service but the food is what sold me. My friends are I sampled their menu and we wouldnt say we were disappointed about anything. The chick pea sandwich and vegan queso was delicious
It was our first time in Austin and like anyone would do, we had a list of restaurants we’d added from Google research. Bouldin was the first place we went to and wow! You’re immediately taken by surprise with the cool vibe and extremely friendly staff Not to mention that the whole restaurant is vegetarian with anything made vegan on request. It was paradise for vegetarians like us.Let’s get to the food. We started with a Rose and Lavender mate sours. Seemed natural and delicious. Different than the synthetic refreshments. We also got a Mocha with coconut milk and OMG! Was one of the best I’ve had.For food, we got Joe’ssmokin omelette, zucchini migas (I wouldn’t get again but I’m sure a lot of people would like it), the veggie royale (totally worth being the showstopper). The food was all delicious and our star of the evening was the lavender blueberry pie. It was warm comforting happiness in a bowl. Totally recommend this place !
We had a group of 8 that the wait staff served with precision. Several of us had the Farmers Plate pictured. You can get it with whole beans or refried. We also had the hummus plate and veggie tacos as appetizers. They were both delicious. Two in the party divided the veggie burger and the hummus sandwich. They reported both were yummy. Breakfast is available during all business hours. I would have given a 5 star rating except we were there just before 530 pm, so the dinner menu was not available. We really were interested in several items on that menu. Guess that means we have to go back again. 😀
Dank vegetarian burger, fresh bread delicious chips and sauce. Get the pesto sauce on the side and enjoy your ethical meal.$14 bucks with tip.
This place was worth every penny. We went there for breakfast and the servings are big enough that you can share with someone else and still be satisfied. The tofu scramble is out of this world. Our server was very conscious that we were vegan and made sure to let us know of the ingredientes in the dishes we ordered.
Such a fun funky vegetarian restaurant spot. Lots of vegan and vegetarian selections to choose from.
Took me a minute to understand why so many hippies here but then it was obvious. The menu is sourced right out of Vegan/Vegetarian heaven. The food was absolutely amazing, some of the best nachos Ive had in town. Loved the atmosphere, a really unique building and decor. Staff was extremely friendly. Will definitely come again and again and again. Perfect place to take out of towners that want something other than BBQ.
