I’m very happy with my countertops from Empire. They did a great job. The granite slab I bought was gorgeous, the installers were quick, clean and efficient, and Aimee & Becky were quick to take care of any issues I had. The salesperson I met with to buy my slab was also very helpful, he was eager to help but didn’t make me feel pressured to buy. I’d recommend them to any of my friends. I didn’t read reviews before I had my counters installed and I’m very surprised to read so many negative reviews - I think most people that are happy must just not bother to review them, which is a shame because they’re great. Here’s a before and after of my bathroom - looks SO much nicer.
Spoke Morgan in sales and had priced out dimensions for countertops for quote to be emailed on a Tuesday. I followed up two days later leaving a message, text, and voicemail. Two days later still no call back or response. Tried calling several times each day to even get a hold of anyone to pick up the phone or call me back. I gave up after a week of continuous even making contact with anyone there. Im not even sure if they are still in business and if I was a contractor that needs to meet construction deadlines, this would be a reflection of the communication I would receive.
I had read other reviews and was skeptical going in, but thats whats great about reviews. I was ready to discuss the issues brought up in other reviews(communication, quality, timing, etc.) as I saw fit. I can say I had nothing but a great experience with Empire. I was met on time, was quickly giving a quote and received three calls prior to installing my countertops. So, communication A+, price A+, quality A+ (granted my install was very easy). I hope others have as good of an experience as I did, but please help the community and post about it. Also, they have a great selection of remnants, and not all are online. So, give them a call I bet they can find something for you.
Morgan Monroe and all the people we dealt with at Empire Countertops were top notch. They prepared our counter tops on the agreed to schedule and then did the estimated two day install job (demolition and installation) in one day. The installers, Oscar and Issac, were particularly good. They were very careful and made little dust indoors. They made both the sink & cooktop cut outs and polished the edges outdoors. I will recommend Empire to my friends.
My experience with Morgan at Empire Countertops was exceptional. She is incredibly knowledgeable of the industry, prompt and courteous in her communication and follow up, and extremely friendly. My husband and I didn’t know exactly what we wanted nor did we have the understanding of what type of countertop would work best for our bathroom remodel, but she was very helpful in educating us about the different options along with the pros and cons of each. She also spent time to learn more about our design goals and overall style, and guided us to a beautiful quartz slab that we are SO thrilled about!! The installers that came were very kind and timely as well. They did a fantastic job installing the countertop quickly and efficiently and we couldn’t be happier! Our new bathroom remodel wouldn’t be the same without Empire Countertops and we are always grateful for superior service in a competitive industry such as this. Side note- if you go in to the store, you might even get to meet the cutest golden retriever ever, Chubbs. He only works there part time though....Can’t wait to come back to y’all for our next project!!
I cannot say enough good things about Ms. Morgan Monroe and the entire fabrication / installation team at Empire! This is my second home working with the team and all I can say is they definitely go above and beyond. After having been burned by a bad installation of Silestone from Home Depot on my starter home, Empire has been nothing but first-class professionals with amazing attention to detail every step of they way. And with countertops and backsplashes - the details really do matter! Details like cutting the EXACT part of that gorgeous marble slab you want and creating a perfectly color matched, very thin seam that virtually disappears on a kitchen island. The trust that I have in this team is everything. I will continue to bring my projects and refer people here. Our last house turned out so great it was featured in a magazine. Good people are hard to find - find your people here!
Not adhering to Covid-19 protocol. My husband and I went to look at some countertops and the girl who helped us open the door without a mask. When I asked her if she planned on wearing one she replied “ it’s a really big room” we were still indoors I told her I would feel more comfortable if she wore a mask and she rolled her eyes and said “uh ok but it’s a big room” when we toured the rest of the facility no one in sight had a mask on. It felt really unsafe. Yes the room was really large warehouse but it was INDOORS. Unacceptable.
Complete lack of communication, no attention to detail. To describe this outfit as amateur would be a compliment compared to the level of service they provide.
Professional service from start to finish. Morgan and Erin were very helpful when we were looking to match a granite counter top. They found the same pattern design in another city, and had it shipped to their store here in Austin. The installers that removed and replaced the kitchen topwere very precise and were also professional. I would highly recommendEmpire to anyone looking for a great experience. I am very pleased...
My husband and I had such a GREAT experience with Empire from start to finish. Morgan was extremely kind, respectful and accomodating. She was on the ball with communicating. Each person involved in our counters was great: measurements, install, billing, and planning/follow-up. I really recommend going through Empire. We shopped around and not only were they the most affordable, they were pleasant to do business with versus the non-remnant companies who did a lot of bait-and-switch with pricing. No headache here at all. Thank you again to everyone at Empire!
To say Im frustrated with Empire Countertops is an understatement. The first 50% of our interaction was great, however once my credit card was run, the communication screeched to a crawl and the quality of work was sub-par, at best.I understand that were in a strange time (global pandemic and all), but if your business remains open, set proper expectations and follow through with communication. Simple enough, right? After measurements had been taken, we were not contacted to set up install. We attempted multiple times to schedule installation, and finally we were given a timeslot a week and a half later. Prior to the installation date, we were never contacted for confirmation or to set expectations. After following up on installation day, we were informed that the installer would arrive between 8am-12pm....the installer arrived at 7:30pm. At no point was anyone able to give us an answer about when we should expect install. Super frustrating and unprofessional. To top it all off, our countertops were installed with jagged edges, poorly caulked, and one of our sinks was cracked underneath. Our new cabinets were also scratched. Not a word from the installers about any of the damages, as our plumber discovered the sink crack days later.Unless Empire can find better communication skills and subs for their manual labor, find a different business to work with.
My experience with Empire Countertops has been A+ from start to finish. The team has been prompt, courteous, and dependable. The sales team and installation crew are top notch. I’ll definitely work with them again and highly recommend them!
Everyone we worked with at Empire has been friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Morgan consistently went above and beyond to help me get the right material. My kitchen not only looks beautiful, but I was able to work with great people, had a great selection of materials to choose from, and the price beats the competitors too! Cant wait to come back to redo my bathroom.
Morgan is awesome. Super curious, professional and very detailed oriented. Empire does great work for a small price. Highly recommend !!!
One of the best in town. Great showroom with a super friendly staff. We have always had a great experience with Morgan and her team. I would recommend.
We had a really good experience with Empire from the beginning. We priced out several places, including Lowe’s and Empire had the best price and worked with us on our budget. It took about 3 weeks to get installation but that was because the silestone had to be shipped as empire has to order it from them. Morgan kept us in the loop through the whole process and the day of installation, the guys showed up at 8 am on the dot and were done by 11. Oscar was so nice and thorough! They worked really hard to make the seam look barely there and they were successful. I highly recommend Empire for their whole process and huge selection of different products.
I cant say enough good things about Empire! I work as an interior designer in Austin and have used them multiple times and each time they have provided beautiful material at a great price, timely installation and great customer service. I look forward to working with them again on many projects to come!!!
Great service and expert installation! Morgan Monroe provided guidance and walked me through the whole process and made great recommendations on slabs based on the colors I was looking for, and Lyndi followed through with getting the installation scheduled. My wife and I are elated with the results. Highly recommend!
Best show room and selection I saw in town. The prices were very competitive. The install was quick and painless.
I’ve used Empire several times, for rental and personal property. The office staff is easy to work with. Turn around time was always less than two weeks. The installations have each been clean and correct. Now, I’m not getting anything too fancy, and only in moderate sized kitchens, but Empire has been consistent, frictionless, and professional. The latest job, the undermount sink I independently purchased (Costco)and had on-site turned out to not be suitable. Empire’s installers had the shop send out a sink that would work as I intended, and installation proceeded unimpeded. I was charged for only the added cost of sink. Now THAT’s service! And with rentals, I shop for better granite values, and no one beats these prices, so for me, it’s the complete package. Great workmanship. Best price. Easy doing business. Thank you Empire.
We got quotes from several installation companies on a granite we picked at Arizona Tile. Empire Countertops was the cheapest and we had a good impression working when visiting the company and working with Aimee. Maybe it was due to holidays, but communication was slow and a bit cumbersome. They send a contractor (with very fancy measuring equipment) to measure our kitchen, yet when then workers came for installation, ALL cuts were done on site (that is cut out for cooking field, sink cut out, holes for faucet, etc.). They showed up with the countertops cut to rough length - so I wonder what all that fancy measuring was for. In the end, one detail was not right. The workers told me that the piece was just not long enough. I would just say that its better to use a company that has their own people do all the steps of the work (quote, pre-manufacture, measure, instal). I was weary to see that sink holes wold be cut by hand on site, but I will say that one could not tell a difference to other companies that will make these cuts in their workshops. However, all the cutting left a mess on our driveway and the garage door was all dusty afterwards (black stone = black dust). Biggest issue for us: The black stone does not seem to be sealed right and is super sensitive. We received a sealed sample from Arizona Tile of this stone and it is NOT sensitive to liquids etc. Upon inquiry, Empire recommended to use an enhancer sealer or get the countertop treated with Hydroshield (which is quite expensive).I also addressed that on the bathroom sink backsplash, the silicon sealing make the stone darker for half an inch - does not look right. This issue was simply ignored by Empire. In the end, I wish I would have spent a couple hundred dollars more, going with a better company.
Morgan did a fine job taking me through the process. Installation was quick and professional. Countertops look great.
Extremely professional, great show room, super helpful, and they are vertically integrated so they can do the whole countertop from stone to install. Had them do my marble years ago and still use them again in my new house!
Great price. very professional. on time. overall good seamless experience.
I love working with Morgan and all the crew. They are the ultimate professionals.
CHECK HERE BEFORE YOU CALL AUSTIN GRANITE!!Steve Walker at Empire was recommended to me by my interior designer. Since I was on a crazy deadline for an appraisal, he ended up having to come out at 8:30 at night and putting a rush order to get my bathroom countertop installed in time. I changed sinks the day before install and he was quick to make sure changes were made before production. After installation, I had a question and he came out right away again to answer my questions and make sure I was happy. The stone is breathtaking and their prices are competitive. This guys customer service is absolutely unbelievable (even though I only had a small order)- I will never go anywhere else.
Had new countertops installed 6 months ago. The non English speaking crew obviously could not or did not read the instructions on installing my Ruvati sink. There was an unopened box of mounting clips left behind.Overnight I awoke to a loud noise and discovered my sink caved in.Waiting to see if Empire sends anyone out to repair. I have left several messages and numerous texts. Waiting .......I was so excited to get the countertops in - I did not say a word about the scratch in the surface and the fact that they didn’t use any caulk or anything on the edges where it meets the wall.In fairness, I have used Empire on 3 other homes that I have remodeled - their service was better before - but now I’m left wondering if any of those sinks they installed will collapse and what has happened to their customer service???
Be prepared for delays, disappointment, and confusion when dealing with Empire. Im giving 2 stars only for the delivery and installation team - I know theyre contractors and not Empire staff, but theyre hardworking and did a great job. Cant say that about Empire staff - will promise anything to make the sale but follow through... not so much. First of all, I picked out my granite slab and scheduled a delivery/install date in 10 days. I took off work and waited for their arrival - which never happened. When I finally reached Morgan Monroe on the phone (shes not so great about returning calls or texts), I was told they forgot to put me on the delivery schedule but she did see it written down. Oops theyre sorry. I rescheduled for another date in another 2 weeks, took another day off work, and they did show up on time. Unfortunately they cut my countertop from the wrong slab. It wasnt what I purchased, wanted or picked out. I sent it back. Again, I had problems reaching anyone on the phone so I had to go back to Empire showroom. Again Oops theyre sorry. Double oops because they didnt have any more Colonial White slabs in stock like what I purchased. I was sent to other facilities in their network to try and find a new Colonial White slab like the one they screwed up. Finally found it in Spicewood, TX. Now Im waiting 2 more weeks for them to bring it to Austin, have it fabricated, and scheduled for delivery. After everything that had happened up to this point, I was cautiously optimistic that Empire would get it together. I was wrong. My delivery window was 1-4 in the afternoon. They arrived at 6:45 pm, and only because I was on the phone with Empire fabrication department demanding resolution to this problem. You didnt think Morgan the salesperson would call me back, did you? Empire wanted to reschedule for another day. I said absolutely not because Id already lost 3 days of work because of their incompetence. It was now or never. The delivery guys showed up (6:45p) and tried to talk me into rescheduling to 7am the next day. I said I was going to call Empire and they suddenly said never mind they would do it tonight. They did the install and it was great. They said their previous installation job was a nightmare, thus the delay for me. They finished and left at 9pm. I never heard 1 word of follow up from anyone at Empire. 3 days later I received an emailed statement of balance due (which I did pay in full). If you choose to do business with Empire Countertops - be aware and beware. Would I use them again? NO.
We work with Empire a lot regarding their Remnant selection and they fabricate and install for our customers.... theyre are extremely professional, friendly, knowledgable and great to work with!
Loved working with Empire! Morgan and her team were so knowledgeable and willing to work within my budget for new countertops for my rental property. In the end, working with Empire was cheaper and SO much faster than getting countertops through Home Depot. Everything went smoothly from initial consultation and countertop selection to measurement and finally installation! My new countertops look amazing! I ended up going with Corian solid surface and I couldnt be happier. Thank you, Empire! Will be recommending you to all my friends.
Very disappointed. This company installed the granite countertops in our new Chesmar home in Georgetown. Unfortunately for my wife and I we didnt notice the contrast between the two slabs that make up the kitchen island/bar area until we had moved in. One of the pieces is white and makes up half the bar area), the other a cream. Since our neighborhood is a new housing development, my wife and I walk into all the new, unsold homes as they are built. Weve looked at many a counter top over the last two and a half months and none have such a visible seam and contrast as the two pieces that make up our kitchen countertop. We had them come out here and they said both pieces were cut from the same stone and they couldnt help us. Now were left knowing that when we go to sell the house, interested buyers have something they can use as leverage to bring down the value. I cant imagine anyone professional in a field like this installing these two pieces and not having their trained eye recognize such a disparity. If I were you and were looking for a granite countertop company, Id keep looking.~Christian MuellerGeorgetown, Texas
Wonderful customer service!
They refused to even bid my job.
