This was a food truck location, and it was so cute! We had the tuxedo, strawberry, 24 karat, and vanilla. I had the strawberry, it wasnt my favorite it 😞. Id go back though, I have one child who doesnt eat cake only icing and the lady working there was kind enough to collect enough icing for my son to enjoy.

I dont know what management took over in the last few years, but I used to ADORE Hey Cupcake! (even had the sticker on my car) from ~2010-2016. I went to a trailer on South Congress last year and was completely floored when I saw that not only had the size of the cake changed, but also, completely, the frosting, the wrapping and the overall taste. The product now sold by Hey Cupcake! is something I would equate to finding at a mediocre grocery store.Please pass my best wishes on to whomever you bought this company from; I hope theyre in a better place than whatever the hell youre selling now.Sincerely,A former #1 fan

Overall Hey Cupcakes quality has gone down and I used to love and worship this place. Their cupcakes have gotten smaller and stayed the same price and the cake flavor and frosting has changed. Maybe it was an off day? But I have definitely noticed a slow downward trend in their quality overall...All that said, the location is in a good place and the employees are always kind!

I used to LOVE Hey Cupcake when I lived in Austin. And since I moved away I always made sure to visit the Burnet store or one of the trailers to grab a cupcake or two. Yesterday I visited the Barton Creek trailer and discovered that not only have the cupcakes gotten smaller, but they have completely changed the recipe. I ordered 2 sweet berry cupcakes and the strawberry cream cheese frosting tasted like fake strawberry sugar and the cake itself was dried out— I guess y’all no longer refrigerate the cupcakes? I was very disappointed and will no longer recommend this establishment. Please go back to your original recipe.

The frosting is not very good. it’s kinda runny and too sweet. The cupcakes are dry and crumbly. I wanted the carrot cake but it doesn’t say there were walnuts and the lady working tried to tell me that all carrot cakes ever has nuts in it. I’m a pastry chef, so I would know that it’s not true. She also said they were pecans when I could tell they were walnuts. They are also much too expensive. 3.50 for a cupcake is way too much. Especially for what they are. I’m pretty disappointed.

The cupcakes are pretty good but somewhat over hyped. The prices are standard to other cupcakeries in the area. The employees are usually friendly but seem to not want to be bothered with any questions. The cupcake itself was good, the cake was light and the icing was not too sweet. The flavors dont jump out at you at all though.

Great cupcakes with just the right amount of perfectly sweetened frosting. Not too overly sweet. Moist and yummy.

The location of this Hey Cupcake is a bit off the beaten path. Its extremely dark at night and Im not sure if consider the area safe since it was a bit empty also when we went. They could throw up a few more lights. I dont see any reason why they wont. The cupcakes are great though.

These cupcakes are mediocre. I have given it several chances and every cupcake never fails to disappoint. When I read the reviews I am surprised how anyone could give them 5 stars. Serious have you ever had a really good cupcake. On the other hand kind of hard to give it 1 star. They are average cupcakes with not a lot of flavor and they are surprisingly cheap with the icing. For the price they are just not worth it.

This place seems popular and has decent reviews but is honestly really underwhelming. The cupcakes are really bland in flavor and dry in texture. Service is pretty good but that doesnt make up for the cupcake quality.
