Food is always awesome. Beignets are super pillowey and delicious. Biscuits were moist and fun to eat. Croissant was crispy and buttery, and the fillings on the breakfast sandwich were delicious.Coffee was also really good. The cortado may not have looked legit but it definitely tasted legit, espresso was pulled to perfection and milk has good temperature.Service was a little off this time around (took a bit to get served, not super friendly, didnt bring us water).Overall, still a 5 star spot that Ill keep coming back to ❤️
My favorite place to get breakfast! Especially with lots of mimosas on a rainy day. The salmon toast & beignets are out of this world, and service is always wonderful. 10/10
Food was delicious. Beignets were best Ive had. Enjoyed croissant egg sandwich too.
Good food and excellent service. Always a pleasure. Outside seating area somewhat austere.
Delectable neighborhood French cuisine and market. A little expensive for the 1) service (they had two waiters for the prime lunch time on a Friday!) and 2) the small portions. However, the quality of the food was spectacular and the cheese bar was a great experience. Their bread is fresh and delicious. Will come back for sure, but more for special occasions since it is pretty pricey.
I havent tried many items off the menu but the quiche and beignets are delicious! The staff is friendly and there wasnt a long wait. Will definitely be going back!
Charming Sunday brunch - be sure to try the beignets! Excellent service and delicious menu!
$27 for two croissants and two cold brews. Their espresso machine was also broken. Not very impressed with the place. Looks better in photos than what it is. The service was not bad.
It’s a lovely place. Good taste and the most beautifully made hot chocolate that perfectly matched its cup!
The food was fantastic of course, but I was expecting bigger portions for the price. The service was also pretty bad, for example it took like 10 minutes for us to get some extra plates. Lastly the place was very loud so I couldn’t really talk, nonetheless the good quality of the food gets this place 3 stars. Also the regular menu seemed much better than the brunch menu and consisted more things. Great beer selection though
While growing up, I recall my father often talking about enjoying New Orleans style Poboy‘s after he moved there when his time in the army was over. Recently, I’d read an article about Poboy style shrimp sandwiches one can enjoy in the Austin area and decided to try out this place. Amazingly delicious!Staff is quite friendly. It is easily seen driving along Hancock Drive. Plenty of parking. The place does require mask to be worn upon entering per Covid pandemic restrictions.I will be coming here again!
I came here for brunch on Memorial Day and was impressed with the salmon toast and the coffee. My food was incredibly fresh and delicious. The service was excellent and I absolutely loved the vibe. I tried the pastrami also and while I loved the sauerkraut and bread, the sandwich overall wasn’t my favorite pastrami, the meat was a little lean and crispy but I think this comes down to personal preference. I’m looking forward to visiting again.
The crispy salmon is the best salmon I have ever had. I loved everything about it. Im so sad we just found this place and Im leaving Austin tomorrow. Id be back daily if I were staying here. So delicious.
Place is set up like a little market with cheese, meats, and pastries, with more fresh made preserves, spice blends and more. It’s clean and not too busy on a Tuesday evening. Our waiter Todd was very nice and attentive. We ordered the French onion soup which I’ve ordered at other places before and never have I tasted as fresh and clean as here usually it’s so heavy it leaves me feeling gross. We also ordered the gnocchi, frittes, and one of the special for the day which was grits, and confitt mushroom with sage. It was super flavorful and rich. Had to take everything to go.Overall good experience
The beignets were delicious and not overly greasy. The food tasted delicious, and the staff were ready and willing to completely remake my moms meal when it was slightly too salty for her taste. Overall a lovely brunch spot and a chance to eat something yummy that I hadnt had in a while.
Loved this place! Super chic interior fused with a small market feel. Parking was limited at the building, but there seems to be plenty of street parking available if the lot gets full. Attended for a private event and service was thorough and prompt. I had the Cured Salmon Toast, which flavor wise was delicious but the toast itself was a bit too crunchy and dry which made it difficult to eat. Beignets were delicious and I can’t wait to try the other pastries next time I visit!
I am always impressed by this cute little French spot! Ive never been disappointed by the delicious food having been coming here for years now! However, on my latest visit, we had the worst service ever. Docking one star out of my normal 5 for the poor service. Our waiter never refilled our drinks even when asked, and it took us almost two hours for what we had hoped would be a quick birthday lunch for a coworker. Multiple staff walked by our table, virtually ignoring us, and there were few other patrons in the restaurant that day. Ill be back for the food but hopefully the service improves!
I have not had such great service & food like this in a long time! We sat outside on the patio (lovely) and had a really great waiter who offered great suggestions and was attentive and kind. The food was to die for—with beignets to finish everything off! I had the quiche du jour but stole a few bites of my friend’s salmon toast. Even the side salad was awesome. Quality ingredients (comté cheese in the quiche WOW!) and awesome flavors without being too heavy. Can’t wait to come back here and try more things off the menu. Oh, and try the cold brew!
Asked us to wait while they cleared a table then just left us waiting after the table was cleared. Server seemed totally disinterested. This place seems a little too precious .
Fantastic spot for brunch!! The biscuits in particular are sensational! The staff is always very accomodating and friendly as well.
Amazing French food. You can see the pictures of the French onion soup, but it doesnt do the flavor justice. It all tastes as amazing as it looks! The wine selection is phenomenal as well as the beers and ciders!Great variety of pastries to match the delectable menu. This place is a must try!
A wonderful experience eating here for brunch. The beignets were fluffy and crunchy, the coffee was so smooth and flavorful, and gosh—the duck grits were fabulous. I’ve never tasted such buttery duck, it melted in my mouth. The jus with the grits really made it. I absolutely loved the hibiscus mint tea. Probably the best brunch place I’ve tried in ATX!
Nice place! Delicious food!
Background: this was my second time at Epicerie. My first experience was fantastic with great service worthy of more stars than what was given today. The hostess was courteous with putting us on the list for Sunday brunch. The estimated 40 minutes ended up being much shorter. Our waiter was uninspiring, but functionally did everything he should have. The hot fried chicken sandwich breakdown: the fried chicken was delicious, cooked perfectly and not hot at all for those worried about spice levels. For those needing more heat, the hot sauce provided for the table was delicious (and can also be purchased). The fried egg underneath the chicken was a delightful surprise of creamy goodness. The pickles and sauce were a nice contrast. The fries on the plate were pure sadness though. Barely lukewarm. Slightly wrinkled and not a lot of flavor. I thought perhaps I got the last of a batch but when I looked at other people’s tables they had the same sad appearance as mine. This could have been a good accompaniment for the sandwich, but alas was not meant to be today.
Homey and comfortable place with a light menu featuring some tasty food. We ordered the pork chop special and the mussles. Mussles were really good! The sauce was flavorful and mussles tasted fresh. Pork came overcooked, but the staff was quick to remedy and the dish was much better. Service was great in our experience, but the menu was quite pricy for what you get.
Overpriced for the quality of food. Very limited menu and items listed not available. Good service.
Nice wine list. Good menu. Well executed.
Great menu, simple options super well executed. Saturday pastries are a bonus. Kids really enjoyed as well though they might be a bit more adventurous than some. The salmon was good but less exciting while the burger and salads were super. Choose the beef sandwich over the pastrami.
Wonderful food, staff. Great place for a relaxing morning. Crossunts were amazing!
Delicious! A bit pricey but nice to have such a restaurant near home. They have delicious baked goods/pastries. I never have had a kuign-amann until last night. Delicious! Thanks Todd!
The egg and bacon croissant was absolutely delicious!!
We only got the beignets but OMG where they delicious!!!! We drove in from Leander and got 4 orders. A happy mistake because each beignets is HUGE like 4-5 inches across. Warm or cold these beignets are amazing and a great weekend treat.
Really good place, service was good and very friendly. Nice atmosphere. The food was great. Wife had the spaghetti, it came with a ton of meatballs. The pasta was fresh made, and the sauce was delicious. I had the beef pastrami sandwich. The pastrami was awesome. I thought the sauce was a bit too greasy. We had the beignets, very tasty! Very good!
I love this place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Food is always good and they have the best pancakes Ive ever had. So lucky to have this place in the neighborhood.
Stopped by for a great meal this afternoon. Great food, service, and all appropriate COVID precautions. Wish it was closer to home, but we will be back.
Tasty but a tad pricey. Last night I had a small Caesar salad, salmon toast, and a glass of wine (q relatively light supper) and the bill was over $40. Both the salad and toast were good. The salad had freshly grated Parmesan and a creamy, rich dressing. The toast was on a single slice of brioche with fresh dill and a bit of cucumber salad and capers on the side. Both were well done.
I had held off for a long time so finally decided to try this neighborhood gem. My neighborhood. Had a breakfast sandwich which was great and the service was too; was a bit stunned by the $4 coffee especially since there’s no refill and it was cold half way through! Maybe a bit too precious for this old Austinites sensibility.
Just not my cup of tea but at least I tried it
One of the best restaurants in Austin. Impossible to to have a bad meal here and everything is expertly prepared, flavorful, and interesting. The Sunday brunch is perfect and everything I want on a menu. Small but bright and light feeling inside, its always a pleasure to eat here.
Yum! Have eaten here several times and its always great. Lovely for a lunch meeting, coffee, date, dinner with my kids, girls lunch, you name it! Havent yet found a dish I dont like. There are vegetarian friendly items and a cheeseburger and grilled cheese with tomato soup, so theres even something for the less adventurous.
Devine.
A wonderful brunch, friendly staff, and PHENOMENAL beignets. The atmosphere and space is welcoming and fun, but it is also a great place to get a nice cup of coffee. Could not recommend more.
Wonderful little cafe!! One of the best beignets ever. Service was a little slow at the end but the food was amazing.
Very tasty breakfast. Not many options so it wasnt super hard to decide. Coffee was really good
The breakfast sandwich and latte were fantastic. The begnets reminded us of New Orleans but better. Lovely ambiance and service as well. Will definitely come back.
I was a little cautious eating here because it looked overpriced but the food was worth every penny. This place is actually so cute and quaint. Definitely come during the off time. The entire restaurant is so cute. I love it.
Pleasant setting where you can enjoy an unhurried conversation. Lengthy selection of beers and wine. Ive been here for beignets and meals at various times of day. Good bistro food. Im glad they have expanded their dessert offerings but the apple strudel I was offered turned out to be a small dish of hot apple cobbler with ice cream (at a pricey $10). These are not even close and if the staff dont know the difference something is seriously wrong.
Solid spot with a great atmosphere. Try the beignets! Try brunch!
We love it here. Food is phenomenal. Austin casual. A bit noisyNo wine glasses. Who cares when the food is this good?
Already great.
Great little neighborhood cafe! The lighted patio is a great place to have a night cap.
Busy but good food
What a great breakfast restaurant we found within walking distance from the Airbnb we rented. The coffee and tea selection was top notch and food was fantastic! I had the Egg Roxanne, with the egg poached hard. The presentation was very creative and allowed for you to build your breakfast how it suited you with the egg and dirty rice in a jar, biscuit sliced and grilled with the house made butter separate as well. I piled the food on the biscuit half and loved everything about it, but especially the scallions on top that added freshness. My husband got the Pulled Pork and Brown rice with fermented kale. Yes, it was as good as it sounds. As far as creative breakfast spots, this is a huge win.
Came here for a weekday brunch with a friend. I got the pulled pork and brown rice, which also had kale and a packed egg. It was tasty. My friend got the salmon toast and enjoyed hers as well. We finished off with an order of beignets. The food was great. The service was a little off, and I was annoyed that the drip coffee was charged per cup. Other than that, it was a great experience. Also, they didnt have a Bloody Mary/ brunch cocktail option.
Fantastic dining experience. Staff, atmosphere and food were top notch. I’m still craving the unique take on fried green tomatoes. My wife had the drum which was amazingly layered in flavor. I wish this place was near us because we would be there at least once a week.
We used to live less than a mile away. Even though we have moved away our girls demand that we keep on coming back. This place always has good good. The beignets ate to die for. The burgers are so good my daughter specifically craves the ones here. She even has developed a taste for the cheese plate. I enjoy the coffee and my wife loves the gnocchi. You can’t go wrong eating here.
This was so horrible. The service was worse than San Francisco’s. Which is REALLY saying something. The food was over cooked and salty beyond edible. So disappointed. Had heard good things. I’m guessing the Labor Day staff was not the norm. Neither the cook nor the waiters. It was SO BAD.
I am ecstatic that you brought the steak frites back to the menu! Once the restaurant changed to no longer be counter service I was sad, some of the neighborhood feeling went away. But I am happy to see this place busy and the tables turning over more quickly. Great cheese, coffee, and one of my favorite breakfast spots.
Food and coffee was delicious, with nice ambiance, decor, and style to match. They also have parking in the front, which is convenient
Wonderful place. Great food. Entertaining host/owner.
Not vegan friendly—came here for brunch yesterday. My friends seemed to enjoy their meals, but there wasn’t a vegan option on the menu for me. I ordered the kale & salmon salad without the salmon. They charged me $16 for it, and I left hungry. Will not be back.
Great biscuits and pastries
Always a joy to come. The beef pastrami sandwich is a classic. The fries are crispy. I miss the larger salad sizes and seem to be overpriced for the amount of lettuce you get.
This place was somewhat pretentious with mediocre food. One of those places where you go once to check it out then never go again. It has a lot of potential to be great.
Ive eaten here 6 or 7 times and never once been disappointed. Lunch, Dinner, or Brunch, they always come through with great stuff. New Orleans / French inspired food in a casual cafe setting. Sandwiches are great, the larger plates are even better. If you have room left, the fresh beignets are as good as you can get in New Orleans.
Nice ambiance. Service was great. The selection of cheese is pretty good. Got a little confused with the terrine, since it didnt look like what i had in mind. Great mussels and desserts.
The perfect neighborhood bistro. Comfortable while still special. Excellent food and service while still approachable prices. And great cheese and wine selections if you want to use it as a store.
I am not going back there. It is very overpriced. $3 for one small fried egg! I was there for Sunday brunch. They didnt have any vegetarian dish. I ordered one fried egg and french fries. $7 for a bowl of french fries.I dont mind paying for good food but how special are french fries!
Hands down my favorite eatery in town. The food is always, every single time right on target, the wine and selection of bubbles suits my fancy as well. Most importantly, oddly enough, my favorite thing is the space. I love the space- its bright, comfortable but classy and clean, inspirational and overall just a relaxing place to be.
