I have been shopping in here for almost an year, and to my SURPRISE the very recent purchase shivered me. I noticed a glass piece in one of the LADDUs I have purchased in their store last week. When I started chewing it, I could not bite it as the thing was very hard and to my fear when I took it out from mouth I saw a glass piece with sharp edge. THANK GOD I have not given this to kids else it would have been a disaster. I urge the MANAGEMENT to take solid and appropriate CARE while packing these LADDUs and I am sure other left out glass pieces would have been in remaining LADDUs somewhere whoever bought it. GOOD LUCK!!!Hoping this is one of a kind thing and WONT REPEAT.

Ive stopped by this Sunday just a few times to get rusk (to dip into tea) when Im feeling homesick. Last week, I stopped by to check out their selection of Diwali items and I noticed their prices are about half for the same exact items at Desi Brothers (formerly known as Ghandi Bazaar) which is just down the street. I was able to get several boxes of diyas and rangoli color (colored powder). The people working there are always kind and helpful, so Ill be back whenever I need my fix.

Terrible customer service. I reached the store at 8.50Pm (store closes at 9pm), the response from Lady at counter as soon as I enter is sir closed . I said, the store closes at 9PM again response was I cannot wait longer. I walked out of the store without purchasing anything.I used to be a regular at Manpasand, with constant personnel changes, their service went terribly downhill. There is a new and good Desi Brothers right in front of Manpasand. Highly recommend new store for customer service and availability of grocery.

Man Pasand Grocery in South Austin stocks all the necessary items needed for Indian Vegetarian taste.Like its counterparts at North, ready to eat fast-food items are also on sale here. There is a similar store now at South, just nearby.A comparison always happens before dropping in.That being so, many times the verdict tilts towards this further option.

Decent Indian grocery store. Youll get most of the ingredients for Indian cooking. Only downside is some of the products do not have expiry dates on them. It has very little space to move around especially when lots of people shop at same time. I like Gandhi bazaar (similar store 2 mins away) for its spaciousness.

Review №29

Do shop here only if there is no other grocery store open in all of Austin. The store management (if you could call them that) have little regard for customer satisfaction. They are also extremely rude. The produce or merchandise itself is hit or miss (even within valid sell by dates) and customers are expected to buy it at their own peril. There is no return policy (see second paragraph above if you ever go back for a return).Give this a miss and drive down the road towards Big Bazaar for better parking, product and service.

I bought 2 bags of Sona Masuri rice (one Lakshmi brand and one bag of Swad) 16 days back. We used Lakshmi Sona Masoori first. Then, we opened the Swad bag yesterday and found several insects roaming inside. I called Man Pasand immediately and they were not willing to take the bag back and refund on the pretext that I did not keep the receipt. The lady who answered the phone pretended to find receipt on their system but says she cant find.Strangely, they are not willing to look at my credit card statement or any other information.I am shocked that they think people cheat them for $8 rice bag. As I am new to Austin, I did not keep receipts (that too for vegetables and rice). I will keep receipts from other stores (as I am not going to go there)Anyways, avoid this shop at all costs. Pricey, buggy (literally) items.I wish there is a zero stars or negativeMy primary concern is BUGS in rice, which is health hazard

Its one of main grocery store to the Indians staying at America. I visited this store in North Austin as well in South also. In north, it is bigger one, where one will get all varieties Indian vegetables, all types of cooking oils like ground nut, Sesame oil, Olive oil and other edible oils available. In addition all provisions including different type of Rice, Paneer, ready made roties, pooja samagri, biscuits and specially evening snacks like Aloo Somosa, Jilebi. All religious items available in the festivals also. Over all one can feel that we are shopping in India. Cash/Cards are accepted.

You may have many things in your store however its unbelievable how rude and zero customer friendly you are. My wife went there with my 16 month old baby and had few things to carry out and car was parked right outside. She asked the lady at the counter if she could help my wife out since the stroller its hard to manage while caring other things. And the lady eventhough had another person therw at counter said bluntly NO without even apologizing. Its sad to see people who can be really rude in a customer oriented business. I believe the reason for this is because we only have 2 grocery stores near or home so they know no matter what they do people will still go..If possible try to learn how to treat a customer well. Even if you are saying no please apologize and say a reason

Good collection of items if you are looking to make some indian food. Even the ready-to-eat packages leave you spoilt for choice. You should check the expiry on products though, since most of them are imported all the way from halfway across the world (a time-consuming step in the supply chain). The people at the store are really helpful and will answer your queries really well if asked.

Have been shopping there for more than a year almost on a weekly basis. Just like most of the ethnic stores, we did bump into expired and rotten food items occasionally. We didnt have any issue returning/exchanging them until today where the sales person said the owner was not willing to entertain without a receipt. This even after the sales person confirming all the packets of the product on the shelf were rotten.Bottom line, receipts are more important to this store owner than carrying rotten food in the store.
