An ever changing array of hot n fresh Indian food for me to try, as well as a cheap grocery store? sign me up! Desis has awesome food, awesome prices, and awesome awesomeness. oh, and did I mention the awesomeness? only complaint is that its hard to find the prices on dont things, especially cold foods, but whatever. still snazzy.I love the food bar, dont know half of what Im eating, but I love it none the less. A wonderful way to explore the Indian cuisine, and its not stupid overpriced too! Would definitely (and do!) recommend this place to anyone looking for some yummy eats, or a cheap place to shop.

Desi brothers is THE one and only hotspot to get all your Indian and Asian inspired spices, fresh produce of fruits and vegetables that get delivered daily, exotic beverages exported from various Asian countries, along with unique household utensils to make ethnic home cooked cuisines more efficient. I absolutely love, love, LOVE Desi Brothers. The stores cleanliness is impeccable. You can tell they go the extra mile with their unlimited sanitizing products available to customers throughout the store in efforts to minimize the spread of covid. Not only do I constantly see their staff organizing products on aisles, but they are also cleaning with every chance they get. If youre hungry while youre shopping, no problem. They have delicious hot foods and ready to go meals to feed a hungry family on days youre not up to cooking. Again, these meals are prepared fresh, and never made frozen. The food from their kitchen is as authentic as it gets, and packed with abundance of flavor. I love how I can depend on Desi Brothers to be my one pit stop to get everything on my shopping list. If you come across and item that cant be found, just inform any staff member and they will happily go out of their way to find you the desired product, and even go look in the back stock. Thats some A+ customer service right there! As for those bargain shoppers out there, these prices are UNBEATABLE. I dare you to go to any other competive Indian grocery store out there. Nothing beats the quality food and the prices your pay here at Desi Brothers. I am officially a proud customer for life!!!

I tried some snacks from their kitchen and they were fresh and delicious. Wont write more. Would recommend to try it out yourself. M sure desi brothers must be d most well known and customer friendly store in Austin, Tx.

I did not find the store at William Cannon dr to be good. They have many items which have crossed the best before date. Some of the items best before date label is removed or scratched- made me think its because the date is passed and the items are very stale. Saw a few items with fungus growing on it. Some of the staff doesnt understand English well and isnt able to help you locate items if you cannot find something. Moreover, found it slightly expensive.

Small but well-stocked and recently renovated Indian grocery. I love Indian food and come here often for ready-to-eat meals and hard to find sauces and other exotic ingredients. There is a deli with prepared foods and a section for cooking utensils and other knick-knacks. For saltwater anglers, you can buy frozen squid and different varieties of frozen fish that can be used for bait that are much less expensive than anything you can find at the coast.

This place has changed hands three times in recent years. I used to always feel welcome, but under the Desi Brothers management we have been met with suspicion and have been made to feel like invaders. We shop here frequently and not once has the regular checkout staff said hello or thank you to us. In fact the past three visits the checker has actually ignored us when we ask him how he is doing. I know he speaks English as Ive seen him exchange niceties with other Indian customers in English and hes chatty enough with the Indian patrons in Hindu as well. Do you want money or not? DESPITE ALL THIS, the selection here is pretty good and the store is usually relatively clean. Definitely miss the Big Bazaar management. They were always friendly and grateful for business of customers of all ethnicities.

Since the remodel, store layout is improved. Good service and reasonable prices, and they now have hot buffet. Our go-to place for Indian groceries and spices. They also offer a good selection of organic rice, dal and flour. When mangoes are in season, they always seem to have better mangoes from Mexico than anyone else, and occasionally some better varieties. This year there were no mangoes from India but they did have one lot of excellent mangoes from Puerto Rico which to me tasted like banganpalli.

I would suggest buyers at Desi Brothers to check their bills before leaving. Had a bad experience with one of the cashiers over there. He added some extra item to my bill with the tag “Grocery” and increased my total amount. I checked only when I reached home and noticed the charge.I called the store, they asked me to recheck my items(they can tag some miscellaneous items as “Grocery”). I did check again and am 100% sure that I did not buy any such miscellaneous items. They offered to take a look at my bill and groceries if I returned to the store. But, I won’t be doing that as I live far and am trying to reduce trips to grocery store during the pandemic.Hence the 1-star review. Make sure to check your bill before leaving the store!

For ingredients and frozen food, great spot. If you want to get food from their in-house station, be prepared for some excuses. Maybe I’m used to the stores in Dallas & Los Angeles, but the wait is absurd (nearly 20 minutes for one thali) and 3 out of 3 times I haven’t been able to get chaat. It’s 2:30 on a Friday and the cashier told me “maybe in an hour?” What’s the point? Don’t put your hours as 12-8 if someone isn’t there!! I don’t want to waste gas and time.I also want to add I’ve seen multiple store employees not wearing masks, and people are lining up less than 1 ft behind me (most customers wore masks). Someone should care about being COVID compliant.*EDIT: I got their Papadi Chaat, and while it was heavy on salt (likely from using packaged ingredients), it was great. Hit the spot when it came to mission home food

The business needs to update the store hours on their window. It says Monday-Sunday 10-9. There were two customers waiting for the store to open based on the opening time on the window. Then a worker opened the door to say it doesnt open until 11. It seems they changed owners and havent changed their new hours on the window. The previous store is still listed as active on Google with old hours. I submitted an edit to list as closed.

This was my go to place for Indian groceries- they are under new management and went thru a renovation which is great- BUT, selling outdated cakes and when asked for refund - they instead offered not to charge for certain items (which were then inflated!! For example Chutney that normally costs $2.49 the guy stated it was now $3.99 what a RIP OFF!) all this to save a few bucks?? Never going there again - try the nearby Man Pasand they are fair priced and decent.

Ok first of all they always make the price very high. Very unreasonable! Not organized at all. I went there earlier. The cashier was very unreasonable. He didnt help me bagging he was just standing there and talking to the other customer. When i asked him if he could help me bagging he is like they are not doing at this moment. And i am like thinking you should wear gloves and help your customer bagging instead of being a douchebag! And change gloves each time. Common sense guys! Anyway if you can stay away from this store.
