Sprouts in Austin, TX on Lamar has awesome staff! Steve in vitamins and supplements is always so helpful. You cant get service or prices like that from other supplement departments. A favorite place for me to shop.
Love sprouts so easy to get in and out quickly.
First time being inside of a Sprouts and I can see why people enjoy coming here. All of the produce looked fresh and nicely displayed, very nice selection of other products, including more specialty items (gluten free, vegan choices, etc.) that arent as readily available at other stores, and a really nice section for buying loose items in bulk. Location was nice, clean, and well-kept, and the employees were super friendly and helpful.
I’m a regular. I’m always getting sandwiches for my lunch break… There was a lady named Amy who is super sweet in the Deli!! She needs a raise because my sandwich smacked 😋
Summary: great prices, great produce, very friendly staffThe Details:I have been to many Sprouts and this one is no exception to the level of high quality products that they carry.I will say that the only downside to this location is the parking ( minus 1star). It is located in a busy shopping center that makes parking a challenge on the lightest of shopping days. Also the parking spaces are small.Inside, the store is brightly lit and clean. The staff is friendly and the prices are very competitive with any other grocery store.Looking for Gluten Free specialty items? They probably have it since they do carry a large selection if gluten free products.
The employees...specifically the cashiers make this experience less than desirable.Just poor attitudes, cavalier indifference and palpable misery...I had one tell me to bag my own groceries last week...like huh?I normally try to help bag my own groceries—but what I don’t need is you telling me to.They pay you to do that.
They have quarterly vitamin sales and the staff is great! Especially Steve in vitamins!
Nice place to get some quality food products, little expensive but you pay for quality, really good deviled egg salad and blueberry muffins.
Always enjoy shopping here. I am able to find products that I cant find at the grocery store.
We’ve been going here for 4+ years now. Consistent and reliable. Great selection of affordable, healthy food. Produce selection is always wonderful and always met with great deals every week! Don’t waste your money going to Whole Foods or Wheatsville. You can find equal/similar brands at sprouts if you’re not enamored buy the glam and glitz that Whole Foods markets. Eating healthy does not have to equal $$$ and Sprouts proves that. We love the small store setup as it’s easy to get in and out in 30 minutes or less. The staff is super helpful and always available to answer questions or give advice. We love this Sprouts store! Thank you for serving us!
Sprouts is a great experience, friendly human-scale space filled with stuff you can pretty much trust to put in your body. Being there is like having a neighborhood place. This is what grocery stores were before the industry bloated into warehouses of processed food(ish) stuff, thousands of packages not worth getting. Compact, quick & easy. Yet theres more than enough range of choices. And the people mostly seem happy to be there; that feels welcoming. Some of the veg are always past their best, or it would be five *s. Plenty are okay; life is imperfect. At least the meat department seems now really vigilant for freshness. A couple years ago it was mostly okay but uneven. Has changed for the better - first time back since March 2020. Their natural chicken, ground beef: excellent & very fresh.Youll enjoy the process at Sprouts - the intriguing selection if you have time, how quick it is if youre rushed. They have more good house brands all the time. All Ive tried are quality.Take the cold-pressed olive oil packed for them in Portugal, in glass; and at a good price besides! I still get grapeseed oil at HEB for cooking. It has a higher smoking point than olive oil - found out olive oil has a low smoking point and is better used off the heat. I add it after, as its really good for you.
Great store, great location, very clean. Have items, other stores do not. Grab a free club card. And save. Even have a Starbucks. Very clean, great management, and workers. Easy parking, go shop!!!
The employees all seemed pleasant except for the cashiers. Before COVID, during COVID they have ignored me, and complained about the job to their coworkers. The only words they say are my total balance. One was reading a magazine splayed out on the belt and looked upset when I had to check out (she was the only cashier). I work in customer service and it’s completely unacceptable. I scramble to bag my groceries just so I can get out of the hostility. The actual store has good options but often times the food is expired. Don’t come here looking for bread unless you want baguettes
We specifically come to this Sprouts because of the friendly employees and freshest fruits and veggies! Keep up the great work ^_^
Love this Sprouts! As a personal trainer, I constantly refer people to go to Sprouts as an affordable alternative to the other major healthy grocery store chain. This location is smaller than other Sprouts I’ve been to, but it’s always clean and one of the Saturday morning cashiers there is always so helpful.
Produce and meat all bad the very next day. I should have read the dates closer in the store, but when I got home I realized the sell by dates were all the very next day. I was in a hurry so just grabbing things assuming it’d be like other stores where products will be good for a few days. Even so, they should last beyond the sell by date but everything was bad the next day. I didn’t have time to go return everything. I threw most out, but the meat I did cook (chicken and beef) tasted awful and I think I got sick from it.
Loved fresh produce and bulk food.
Need to put people to work in this place
Gresh fruit and vegetables. Clean store.
Not super busy which was nice, everything was somewhat more expensive but if you go here you probably already expect that. Bulk food section is nice and reasonable though
The store is small but packed with the good stuff. The employees were helpful and found every item I was looking for. The store was clean and organized. The sale produce items were a value but the regular prices were a little high. I would shop here again.
Great staff and incredible selection. If youre in town for the Springs definitely grab your provisions here!
Very friendly and helpful employees!!!
I just love Sprouts my dad used to call the poor mans Whole Foods and I think hes right if you want to eat healthily on a budget this is the perfect place and what I mean by that is its not cheap groceries if thats what youre looking for youll be disappointed but if youre looking for healthy food at a reasonable price then this is your place! I wish they would invest in getting a really good Baker and have better choices at the meat counter but I end up going to several different grocery stores anyway to get the different things I need Sprouts is definitely the place to get bulk items vegetables fresh vegetables whoever handles that for them does incredible job and of course Very selections of healthy sauces juices pastas and cereals
Best produce in Austin so far for all them vegans out there. Competes with whole foods as an overall store my opinion. Fekkin love yall
Great store! Great options for products! Lots of fresh produce!
Friendly service. Typically, great produce, good bakery, super meat department and counter, and good deals. On Wed., double ad day w/ last week and present week specials! Thats an even better way to save!
Sprouts is a nice place to shop but limited options. The best part is the bakery and I highly recommend the cupcakes !!!
I love sprouts! Always have and always will!
Good fresh produce and meat
Buck in Deli was really courteous and made really good sandwiches for us. Came back the same day for more sandwiches at the same location because he did such a great job. Thank you so much Buck!
Really nice selection, great west location, sure wish there was something on the east side...
Fresh food. Best Irish soda bread in town. Good prices (Wednesday is double weekly sales day). Excellent and inexpensive seafood. Friendly folks.
Terrible service - dont harass customers about their mask if they are wearing one.
Better than my regular sprouts store.
Good selection of Bulk type foodd
Sprouts South Lamar, almost every time I visit your store I have to deal with a rude cashier. I understand at this time everyone is on edge interacting with each other in person, and I totally support all people working at frontlines and allowing for us to still buy groceries at the store. I really, really appreciate grocery store employees risking their health and lives. But today was the third time I have had to interact with a cashier who was just surly. Twice before, before this pandemic, this situation has occurred in your store. All other employees have been friendly and helpful. Special shout out to the super friendly lady who bagged my groceries today, otherwise the whole experience would have bummed me out. I am not asking for over the top obsequious fawning. I am asking for common courtesy. Your store at 183 and Great Hills always has such terrific customer service. So whats the problem with cashiering at South Lamar?
This place has just a terrible meat aisle. These guys will really just turn their back and ignore a whole crowd for 15 minutes. It happens every time I come here. I get that they’re busy but at least an acknowledgement would go a long way. But I’d really recommend just taking your money to one of the other five supermarkets around here.
Very hit or miss. You can find great specialty items, but the produce is very questionable. Often the produce is already moldy or otherwise bad.
Thanks Darold for not following governor’s orders. A customer for years, I won’t be back, neither will my family.
I visit this store weekly. Great inventory and great prices
Great produce and bulk items where you can bring your own bags and jars and they’ll take the tare weight off at the registers if you know them!
Good place for fresh veggies and bulk foods
I enjoy stopping by here every now and again for their ice cream selection, occasional meat sales and their chip selection. They are usually friendly to me and usually helpful. You can sometimes find great items on the sales rack. Ive never purchased fruits/veggies from here but they have a large selection. If you like natural-based personal care products, they have a huge selection of that as well.
Ive decided to give KETO a try. Which is why I was here. They make it easy for you to tell which snacks or foods are KETO friendly, gluten free, etc. They have a larger sticker over the price indicating if its KETO or gluten free, sugar free, ect. Makes it easy to pick something fast!
Good cuts of meat.. Nice little grocery store.
They have free WiFi and great food and customer service!
I liked it not to bad.
They have fantastic produce and meats at reasonable prices. I also appreciate the smaller crowds compared to HEB or Walmart.
Great source for organic produce, herbal remedies, health meats, bakery goods, etc.
Pretty conveniently located. Decent amount of parking around the store. Prices on fresh produce is better than other places.Staff is friendly and usually the store isnt very crowded which makes it easier to navigate.
Great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Chocolate and dried fruits and nuts too !
Always a great selection of local produce, organic meats, and sustainable seafood.
I love Sprouts. This one is a small store but it still good a lot of good stuff on its shelfs!!
This is a nice grocery that offers a great variety of organic and healthy options. Its smaller than the location on Manchaca, but it has everything I need. The people who work there are very nice. Someone always asks if theres anything I need help with. They work hard there, and it must be stressful especially during the busy hours. So I appreciate what they do.Prices are good, and look for more deals in the weekly flyer that comes out on Wednesdays. And I recommend downloading the app, it has a barcode you can scan at checkout to score more deals. Its very handy for seeing what they stock too.The produce is sometimes poor quality (rotten/moldy) and I recommend checking the expiration date on items (like yogurt or protein bars which is sometimes expired but still on the shelf). All in all I like this location and the friendly staff who work there!
Really great store for high quality products at lower prices. Great staff, very friendly and helpful.
Thank you store staff! Steve,Daryl for being Nice. God bless you All!😇🙏
This particular Sprouts is the only Sprouts with a senior discount!!!! 55 and older, they dont card you. 10% off all supplements and body care products on MONDAYS. While I do my monday shopping I pick up Laara Bars on sale and Sambazon sorbet.
Nice storeFresh veggies and extremely pleasant staff.
Relatively inexpensive produce friendly staff on all a pretty good experience. Better than going to Randalls, which is like sticking needles in your eyes.
Great prices and friendly people. The only annoyance i have is the cashiers seem to think its social hour between each other and they sometimes tune out there customer in order to gossip or talk about random pointless stuff or private work stuff. It makes people uncomfortable like oh do they talk like that about everyone?
I used to shop at the Central Market close by, but my mom told me to try Sprouts. I feel in love. The location is perfect for me, but what is the best is the fresh produce that doesnt break the bank. They have an excellent bulk area as well. Check the website for deals for the week (you get deals from that week and the week before on Wednesdays). And if you are in a lunch rush, you must try their deli sandwiches. about $5 for a killer sandwich and the lady at the counter is the best. She even said she will make the sandwich more awesome to get you to come back, instead of going to another sandwich shop.
I do love their produce which is fairly priced for quality. They have a nice beauty section which has sales that are quute good. I love when they offer tea tree oil discounted. Some items for everyday cleaning are 3x the cost of natural products at a major chain supermarket. The store is easy to shop in and usually quick check out.
Always good.
Go every week organic grocery store Peace and Love laid back old Austin love the staff if youre looking for supplements talk to Steve hes helpful and knowledgeable
Great discounts for Seniors on Monday !! xo
Really like going here for low key pace...sometimes meat looks a little old
Great store! I come here often and the selection is usually on point. Local craft beer selection here is always good. The wine selection can use imporvment... As they do not regularly carry local wines. On common occurrences they have really good sales of produce. One of the biggest down falls of this location is that when the lines start to get long, it can be quite the wait.
Good grocery with things that are hard to find elsewhere. Great vegetable selection.
I love this place. It makes shopping so easy and healthy!
Sprouts is the underdog natural grocery store of Austin. They dont have a very big selection of organic produce but what they do have is such a great price! You usually need to use it faster then you would, say, then produce from Wheatsville but thats usually not a problem for me since I go through veggies so quickly! They have good sales on organic meat and a decent bulk section, although not much of it is organic. The staff are usually pretty cool and it is rarely crowded which can be quite nice.
I like sprouts better than whole foods, because of the price of the organic veggies & fruits. And love the spicy italian chicken from there meat market. They have competitive price for wild caught salmon and other sea food.I took 1 star for the parking, its becomes packed on weekends,
I havent been to this place before. I had been to Whole Foods, but not to sprouts. This is actually a nice, smaller version of whole foods, but more friendly and cozy. Quality of products was superb, I just wanted to take everything home. Vegetables so fresh, seeds by bulk... I bought a fresh tilapia and prepared it and was delicious. I will keep coming back over and over
I agree with most of the comments about good produce at decent prices, smaller store with comfortable atmosphere, etc. I have been going to this store for 11+ years, going back to when it was Sun Harvest. What is very clear is that the customer care and service has gone down the toilet. Long lines due to only one or two cashiers is the norm now- doesnt matter what time of day. Its really frustrating and makes me sad to see this place go down hill. Also the bakery doesnt put out the fresh items it used to.
Great vegan options here
My favorite place!
Fantastic selection of fresh produce and other healthy foods. Very fast service.
I shop at Sprouts mainly for the produce. Its generally better priced than most of the competitors. They also have some decent weekly specials on occasion. This location has a far superior produce selection than the Sprouts on Research Blvd. So when I need to replenish the produce I truck down south. They also have a pretty decent bulk foods selection. For your garden variety staples to stock the pantry I typically shop elsewhere. They seem to be overpriced.
Overall speaking its my favorite grocery store! You can find a lot of organic and other stuffs you wont find at other grocery stores. It has better food quality than HEB, and for organic stuffs it offers way better price than Wholefoods. It also gives you the local community feeling. Thumbs up!
This is a great little market within walking distance of the neighboring apartment communities. I dont use Sprouts as my primary grocery store but they do have great promotions, an affordable produce selection, and a decent bulk foods selection. Compared to their competitors, their prices are slightly higher on certain items but you just have to find the deals!I definitely go to Sprouts when I need a few items or when they have a promotion such as 20% off Freezer Foods and double ad Wednesday.
I thought this store was decent when I was in it, but after getting home... I have realised my almond milk expired a week ago, the cereal expired last year and the bread was a day past its best before. Pay close attention to dates, when 3 of 15 items is past expiry its probably not a good store.
I spent hours loading up my things and waited in a long only to see the cahsier walking out on me.i still waited another 10 minutes and nobody cared to help me. Personally I have never experienced this in any shopping centers in Austin. Have been shopping at sprouts for more than 10 years now and this place was no discomforting I will never visit this place again.
I have visited Sprout in San Diego, CA. Several in Arizona and Colorado this year. I love the quality of food, the freshness of nuts .Its a far better store than the Willy Coop in Madison, Wi .Also $4 sandwiches rock. Hint make more wheat buns you are alsways out by 12 noon . Please consider opening a store in Madison, Wisconsin. We have an area in Madison that needs a grocer badly. Its 6 mii for this neighborhood to a grocer.
Great products and deals! I wish the Deli was opened later; not sure what time it closes but it seems like its closed at dinner time and there are fresh items still left to sell for the day. I appreciate the pre-cut veggies and fruits.
This is an excellent place to grab some fresh ingredients. Even the stuff from the bakery is so good. The price is affordable for the fresh and in season things.
Great meat and produce
This is by far the worst grocery store in Austin. This specific one. From the items they sell being bad, to the higher prices they charge then the other 2 grocery stores within a block. I have no idea how this biz exsists. I went in the other day and they were completely out of organic meats! So instead I bought something out of their butcher counter, where I met someone who was both rude and uniformed about the products he was selling. I got the chicken Cordon bleu and it was by far the worst example I have ever seen, completely disguising, tasted horrible. In addition this place doesnt maintain their carts (all broken wheels) and you may have to walk a bit outside to get a cart as employees dont seem to care to retrieve them. I wont be surprised when this goes under and a trader Joes appears. Hell I encourage it!
Affordable groceries with a small town feel. I love shopping here for my produce and meats. Also good sales on wine.
I have been to this store three times over the past month, and experienced very long lines without adequate cashier presence to handle all the customers. I thought it was a fluke the first and second time, but apparently it is a persistent issue with this store.Besides the apparent lack of Management oversight and planning to expect the high number of customers during evening hours with adequate cashier personnel, there also is a lack of timely and appropriate response to such instances. Poor planning is moderately understandable, especially with random increases in customers (which this time of the day apparently is not random, because Ive experienced it consistently). But, not reacting appropriately and pulling additional on-site personnel to perform cashier duties when customers, ready to pay, form lines and stack up across the open spaces of the store is unacceptable.I wont spend a single dime at this store again. Id rather go to the HEB half a mile further, or the Target (especially when all I need is a cheap bottle of wine, or small quantity of vegetables), than to continue to support an establishment like this one that permits such poor oversight and service in its store.
Love this place for great bulk nut selection!
Love shopping in Sprouts.
A lot of their produce is ugly and not fresh. Items that should be abundant, like organic bananas, are hard to find and then its slim pickins. Several of the cheese items were past the due date. A awful smell was coming from the back of the store - possibly a shite ton of old seafood? The bathrooms are THE worst I have seen in the state!!! And the employees often have no idea what produce they are ringing up and will charge you whatever they feel like. Too many other good stores in Austin to compete with this one.
Love this store, nice lovely employees and friendly relaxed atmosphere. The woman that checked me out was saturated with stale cigarette smoke though. I didnt think theyd employ hard-core smokers. It didnt really convey the feeling of health I usually get from here.
Good quality produce and health food goods
An overwhelming amount of wholesome food! Its nice to have lots of different organic stores to choose from. Really friendly staff as well.
We have been buying our meat from Karl (Head Butcher) for over 20 years ! Excellent service from him and his staff.
This Sprouts location as very helpful and knowledgable staff. Always go here for the Wednesday double ad day, for sales for the current and previous week. The fruit produce always looks great.
Apparently there is no one to enforce wear a mask!Saw a person today that had a mask but wore it under his chin. His family of 5 were all over the store.oThis is why I’m scared to shop here.
