The owner is very rude and a real jerk, he needs to learn some manners. They keep raising their prices . Their prices right now are 25-30 percent higher than other similar stores in the area. Very bad customer service . Also some of their food is expired, and they hide or tear down the expiration date so you wont see it. Professional crooks!

First- the Uncle who is at the register is really, really nice. Very respectful, especially to me and my mom. His store keeps a lot of Bengali brands, which is nice. The halal meat market is AWFUL. Uncle said the Market rents the space, they’re not related.The meat market gave us 1 box of expired or old chicken. It smelled pretty bad at the store but I was confused. By the time I went home (only 30 minutes) it smelled worse.I called and told the front store uncle, he didn’t give trouble. He said he’d give a new box.The Meat Market gave us so much trouble. They were angry and not willing to replace it. They smelled it and said “it’s fine” and tried to give me more meat from the same supply.Finally the Meat Market agreed to replace it, however they gave less than 1 box worth. :/ I was so disappointed. You don’t cheat people who are trying to stay Halal. It was very mean.

I am a young Black woman, and both of my experiences with this store have been funny.This time, Iwent to this grocery store and noticed that my card kept declining, but I had money on it.Come to find that the cashier was trying to ring me up as an EBT purchase, even though I was obviously paying with a debit card.It wasn’t until he actually took my card to swipe it himself that he changed it to a normal purchase.The micro aggressions are wild

World Food & Halal Market exemplifies desi family values. The owner always offers me a drink anytime I come in and is helpful when I need to find an item. The store has a wide variety of produce, spices, meat, and other international foods. The owner’s son also delivers groceries directly to my home for a reasonable fee - which is very helpful especially during the pandemic. Would recommend to anyone in the Austin area!!

I can’t believe a place likes this is allowed to operate. Don’t recommend this place to anyone!

This store has halal meat. But EXTREMELY limited produce. This is NOT a world food store. It carries 97% Indian and Pakistani food, nothing else. So if your looking for Middle Eastern of Mediterranean food items go somewhere else. And just a word of warning, the older man who runs the shop is very brisk.

I asked him for lean meat. He was supposed to show the piece. However he tricked me and he could have put food colour, perfume and dyes. It neither smells or taste like meat. Pls be careful what you eat.

Hi y all I was talking bout this place they have fresh meat arriving every Wednesday so if you looking for them lamb chops or good quality mutton or beef this place is perfect always sells fresh where as other places. Have old meat or not better quality then these guys here. I never had a bad experience with meat I bought from them. Their meat dont have that gamey smell to it. Best meat in Austin. I tried all Halal Markets shops in Austin TX I never see like this one good meat quality. The best price i ever seen $ 6.49 LB for lamb or goat compare to other market selling at $ 12.99 LB. I have been a customer for 9 years will never change this.

Today i came to buy some meat and i was surprised at the prices $ 6.49 for Lamb or goat per LB, not see in other shops in this city . This is the better deal you cant find anywhere else in Austin. The best Halal meat that I buy during last 8 years, is great. Meat always fresh, clean and tender. I tried many Halal sores in Austin but, I never find like this Market, less price than others and the meat quality is great plus groceries are best. Products at least not expired compare to other markets. All workers nice & friendly. If you look for best quality meat this is the best place to go. I disagree with review that saying front registered not smile,( I went to other store one day and the registered was friendly, then after I found something wrong with product I asked to return it after I walked out of the store in about15 minutes, the registered became so upset and unhelpful and he refused to return the product).so what smile can do for you, if the registered lack of integrity and honesty. When I buy from this Market at least i have peace of mind.

MaShaAllah one of the best Desi stores in town. Its definitely our favorite one. Everything is very well organized and freshly stacked. The folks running the store are super nice and friendly. Great customer support and a lot variety. I would highly recommend to check out this store.

I dont feel comfortable in this store. I dont believe that the cleanliness matches even the local HEB. The customer service terrible. I think theyre not handling this old world and I was very concerned about it and the cleanliness. I did not serve meat from the store to my guests. I will never go back.@Jonus in the other review. Maybe they know you or you look a certain way because I had the same experience with very impolite service. I did not feel welcome in the store at all.

One of the oldest halal meat and grocery store in Austin. Huge selection of IndoPak groceries. When I am looking for something and it is not on the shelf, they usually get it the following week unless its not available in the US.

Bad attitude and a lack of basic customer service. As soon as I walked in here I knew it wasnt going to be a good experience. They also have a min amount to use a credit card. What ever the amount, businesses will still have to pay credit card processing fees. Deal with it, cost of doing business or dont accept credit cards all together.

I came here for a school project and the gentle man behind the register was very rude. Btw this was 4/19/16. As he ran my card for the merchandise he threw a bag on the counter and after my card told me I had to bag my own stuff. I did nothing but smile and say have a wonderful day and he never smiled back or say you too thru the whole transaction.

Rude employees and way over priced. Ill stick to HEB, they do have halal meat, just read the back of the packages. A little more pricey, however I will pay for good customer service.✌🏼
