The ice-cream is really great with loads of customizations available and quantity is very good. Chris is very nice with customers as well, rewarding regulars with their own orders. I ordered one of the regular customers choice and shows how much the business values its customers. Already visited it multiple times over the week and would recommend it to all.
In terms of actual taste the ice cream is okay. There are far superior ice creams around Austin. It is a different version of ice cream so I can’t be too harsh with the comparisons. However the whole experience is pretty unique and nice and the area is also a nice place to kind of walk around. Definitely would go try once but not like a go to spot.
First they asked us to put mask on before entering. So we went and found some, then they refused to serve us because it was 30 minutes until they closed. There was only 8 of us. Will never go back here.
The business can not sustain walk-ins. We arrived at 9:20PM and with no one in the shop were told that we would have to wait until all existing orders were fulfilled, a likely 45 min - 1 hour wait. We completely understand and are empathetic to the service industry and current staffing. The business model is flawed. You have to be able to serve patrons if you allow walk-ins. Be warned if you decide to make the trip here and order online to be safe.
Wow! This is something new for sure, rolled icecream? Theyve got a big selection of available flavors, including my favorite, mint chocolate chip (a summer seasonal flavor). Staff was friendly, and apologetic for the unusual wait time, but even at 10:30 pm the shop was buzzing with people picking up online orders, so if you dont want to wait an hour, order online. Even still, wait was well worth it, I went home happy and excited to come back on another hot day. Would recommend for any age, theyre shop is decorated with fun cartoon yetis and fruits for the kids.
Mandatory masks? In Texas? It’s no surprise nobody was in there 😂🤡
The ice cream was delicious. It was actually my first time having rolled ice cream! The parking lot is very very very small and is shared by a good truck. The inside is on the smaller side as well so you should pick to go on a day with less traffic.
Good food but victim of its own success. The ice cream is delicious, innovative and comes in good potions. The problem is with time. If you walk in there is always a stack of online orders ahead of you. Wait times of 35-45 minutes seem to be the norm. There is also so little parking, so pickup of to go can be dicey.
I would have loved to leave an actual review. Unfortunately, we’ll never see that review because we were denied service for not having masks. They ALSO did not have any for their customers. If you’re going to require it, at least offer me a mask. You’re literally turning down money. We’re sad we’ll never be able to try this place but at least we still have our pride and dignity.
The ice cream here is top notch. Amazing texture and the flavor is so good.
Came here at 12:45 pm on a Saturday night, they close at 2 am. Tried going inside, they said the lobby is closed so we need to order from the window. Went to window, no menu or anything. The guy comes to tell us that if we want anything it’ll be a 45 wait bc of all the online orders they have. That makes… zero.. sense. First time coming here as I’m new to Austin and my brother drove in from Dallas. Definitely not a good customer experience, will not be coming back here again. Why would I wait 45 min for ice cream this late at night? And if you had customers there in person that wanted to order 2 things why wouldn’t you prioritize them??Per owners response below, I already answered that question… what should have been done is let me and my party order and not wait 45 minutes. We were the only people there and as I mentioned we only wanted 2 things - nothing crazy.
Very cool experience and a must try for any kid or ice cream lover. The simplicity of milk and a real square of red velvet cake or Oreos or cheesecake..and a sub zero plate are unreal. It looks cool and taste so organic and tasty with a subtle chew..🤤🤤🤤. The way they make its made my kids eyes light up.
Fun and tasty ice-cream rolls. It is entertaining to watch them to this the first time. The service may take a while given the process and it could take longer if there is only one working and theres a big group. It is a shame that you wont be able to eat together as a group when that happens. Some flavors are too generous on the condensed milk, making the sweetness a bit overwhelming. My favorite is Coconut Ash topped with berries and coconut flakes.
Loved watching the process. I enjoyed the great customer service. Its a nice selection of flavors to choose from (including dairy free!). I got a seasonal flavor of salted caramel pretzel (yum!) with condensed milk (to add sweetness and creaminess) and strawberries. They should totally make this flavor a regular one. There is only one reason Ive given this place 4 stars and its because of the three ladies working behind the counter only one cleaned her work space completely before starting a new order. They had a lot of orders when we walked in but I cant understand how one person can completely clean off the frozen palate space and the others couldnt take the time to do the same.Other than that, great place. There is limited parking (just so youre aware).
Kids requested this kind of roll up ice cream style so I took them there. First to park in this place (1 star) wayyyy too tiny even for a small car. Second the employee seemed so unhappy, a very gray cloudy uncomfortable atmosphere. Thirdly, please get smaller bowls. The big bowls are way too much eat and hard to split between kids, no need to spend more money because you only have one size and a waste of that money going in the trash cuz its too much to eat and at that not even other bowls to split the ice creams in so I had to split them on napkins. Plus side is that it did taste good. Do better.
Good amount of waiting time. But a great place! A little different since the pandemic
Was really excited to try this ice cream, but never got to. Waited 30 minutes, and still no ice cream. Gave 2 stars instead of 1 because we were able to get a refund (cashier was nice, but inexperienced, didnt give any fair warning about the wait time).
Was really excited to try this place with the kids, but didn’t bring our masks… was told we couldn’t be in the building without masks… and when asked for a disposable mask was told they don’t have any… *shrug*
First off, WOW! this place has some of the best desert I’ve ever had. Their ingredients taste very fresh and the staff is amazing. Delicious Thai tea for those hot days and just all around an amazing experience every time I come. I had the monkey business(banana and Nutella ice cream) with graham crackers crushed in and sprinkled on top along with milk chocolate fudge.
May 27, 2021: Despite my order being slightly messed up, the ice cream tasted great! Why was it messed up? Because instead of helping the new employee at the register, the manager was yelling at her and in front of me and my friend when we ordering told her to stop messing up orders. Knowing her inexperience, maybe she shouldve been given support, seems like every job screws over the new hires. She did phenomenally under unnecessary stress from her manager (and with how busy the place was), who seems to yell at all his employees even as they walk out of the store after their shift. Treat your new employees with respect, and not only will they perform better but customers will want to come back again.
The service was just as great as the rolls! Warren prepared my treat to perfection! The cashier (I didn’t get her name but I went Friday 2/15 around 8 PM) was very helpful since it was our first time here and was very friendly. It’s fun to watch the creations come to life. I have a suggestion, perhaps more seating would be useful, but other than that, amazing experience!
Love this ice cream! So creamy and smooth.
Stooped by very late for dessert. They took our order but WOULDNT START WORKING ON IT. They stated that their policy was to fill orders as they came in and they had several on-line orders ahead of us. We were just standing there...how hard would it have been to serve us -their face-to-face customer RIGHT THEN! The kid seemed stressed by the situation and I did feel for them but the manager didnt care. Eventually said they had about 8 orders ahead of us. We cancelled our order and left.NEVER AGAIN
Bad attitude, Bad experience. overpriced cream that wasn’t that good and the older white guy making the ice cream rolls was rude to us, we won’t be returning.
Hands down one of the best ice cream centers around! I make sure to go to this pla e everytime I visit Austin. Love the matcha rolls!
Great place to get a snack if you have a sweet tooth
Loved the place! Excellent selection of flavors and friendly workers
Best ice cream I have tasted for a long long time, I choose the one with Nutella (wasnt so sweet as it sounds) and they give you 5 rolls per cup. The line was a little bit large but it was all worth it. Im surprised this company hasnt extended a lot through American places to be honest.
The best ice cream great atmosphere
OKAY so the workers are so rude my husband and I just left and all the people there got an attitude! No greetingWhen we ordered the cashier rolled her eyes like we were a burden …Everyone there seemed so put off and really annoyed that people were coming in. It’s an ice cream place you don’t have to be super friendly but don’t make others around you feel uncomfortable.. it’s not fair to the paying customersWe got there at 9:40 and we didn’t get our ice cream until 40 mins laterwhich we were okay with because we saw they were busyBut as soon as we got It no apology for the wait or thank you for the patienceAnother party came in at 10:30 (the shop closes at 11:30)Sits inside the worker yells at them and makes them feel super uncomfortable and tells them“The indoor patio is closed”And as my husband and I leave she yells at us again and says “go through the other door”No thank you.Worst Ice cream place I’ve ever been.
Ice cream was good, dude at the window was nice and funny. Everyone else seemed like they hated their lives, which is fair. But it took 30 minutes to get my ice cream at 10pm.
First time trying this place. Ive wanted to try rolled ice cream for a long time. This place was definitely worth it. I ordered the thai iced tea ice cream with condensed milk and white chocolate chips. So delish! The do offer dairy free, but when I went they did not have that option.
We were excited to visit this place but they refuse to take our order. Their hours are not updated on Google. Plus they weren’t even busy.
The employees of the place are rude . No care customers. No make good icecream. They very good in the start. But now are going bad. Owner need to look after the employees behave.
I got the the coconut volcanic ash ice cream is was very good
If you want to spend your day here waiting on ice cream go ahead and clock in. Waited 45 mins for our order and every time we asked where our order was they kept saying it was being made. Turns out it never was, asked for a refund. Very negligent and our one year old became very fussy. Also was visiting from out of town. Dont waste your time.
Amazing place sweet staff and delicious frozen rolls (creamery)
The ice cream was delicious but it does take a while to get to you. i’m giving it one star because of the service. the woman who took my order, Elena K, as it says on the receipt, had so much attitude. She set down my ice cream on the table so ugly and forcefully. Horrible customer service! another customer called her out, “what a nasty attitude”
Objectively some of the nicest employees Ive ever interacted with at any place ever, and the ice cream is extremely good. 100% recommend
Wouldn’t take a order at the counter at 11:10 because “they have to many online orders” live out of town won’t be back.Ps the dude behind the frozen block wasn’t very friendly
Coconut/Charcoal 🔥
The concept is great but the ice cream is missing flavor. Ice cream tastes very watered down. Ordered 4 different flavors and they all tasted like the same (sugary water). Waited 45 min for the ice cream. There was only one employee manning the window & taking orders. Felt horrible for her.
Thought the ice cream was fantastic and the employees were great!
The ice cream was amazing and they had so many flavors to choose from (even vegan ones). I was also impressed by the service and atmosphere... definitely coming back next time Im in Austin!
Thai-cy rolls are excellent. Took the employee’s recommendation about adding a honey drizzle and it was really good!
So when its come ice cream the test is the most important part so with their ice cream its water I dont know what kind of cream they use but the cream they use is just like water beside they are not generous using the their product so if you ask for Nutella banana ice cream good luck finding the Nutella in your ice cream they use a very small portion you barely can test or see and they are pricey and they dont have a small serving sizes its only one size you should be flexible. I would say McDonald vanilla ice cream or dairy Queen ice cream much much better than this dont waste your time
The staff is amazing, the ice cream is delicious, the wait it worth it. The ice cream takes time to make. Its more complex then scooping you a flavor. So understand this is an experience not just an ice cream shop. Its by far the best tasting ice cream in Austin. Other shops may have a bangers flavor but Frozen Rolls is always consistent. I am an avid customer and will continue to support their great staff and establishment!!
So happy to be back at the movie theater
👌🏻 best in Austin
It was awesome!!! It was our first time going tonight we got the Strawberry Cheesecake. But the best part was the spoon they gave us. My wife lost her mind over the color changing Spoon. This IceCream was soooooooo DeliciousWe will be back again soon
Unique experience eating rolled ice cream. We had Thai tea and chocolate flavored rolls; both were great. Loved their color changing spoons!
Way too overpriced 9 dollars for a cup with one flavor and no toppings. Ice cream Also is nothing special. Charged us for mochi toppings but we didnt receive any. Granted we came really late and I definitely understand the rush to finish working and get home. But I wouldnt recommend coming here anyway. Go to any other ice cream place in town and you will be much happier. I suggest Amys Ice cream or whole foods.
This place was not bad, it just wasnt very good either. The toppings made the ice cream good but the flavor of the ice cream itself was rather lackluster. It also took quite a long time to come to us when during a time that they were really slow. They were very pleasant, bonus points, but it still took way too long for the product comparable to other rolled iced cream places. The two sizes offered are both shareable so no need to super size to a pint.
We love the fresh ice cream so we make it a daddy date once a week(win-win situation).Be mindful that depending on the day and the time you get there, there is a chance of longer wait time but its so worth it. My kids and I cant get enough of this place.
Great ice cream, unique thai style and the toppings rolled in make it special. Smores ice cream was the favorite.
Awesome joe was really funny and we really enjoyed the ice cream!
Ive been wanting to try something new since moving to Austin and I must say this cute little ice cream shop is the real deal. There is a wait time compared to other ice cream places but I didnt mind it. I got what I paid for and more so I am super happy I gave it a go.
Delicious rolled ice cream. Very friendly team
This place was a great stop! Wonderful treats, and a great team. All staff members were attentive and polite, they kept the area clean. I will be back!
The ice cream was delicious. The wait was 40 minutes for 3 bowls. Very impersonal. They do not take your order on site. Will not return until they offer inside seating.
Creamy, so fun and delicious! Over the rainbow is my kids fave and key lime is my go to!
Yummmm! It seemed like a lot at first but as I was sharing one portion, it suddenly didnt seem enough. Flavours get chopped into the cream by staff right in front of you and he turned into rolls of icecream. There are many many flavours to choose from and lots of toppings! The best seller is cookies and cream and it was delicious! Though they also do more unusual flavours such as Thai iced tea and matcha. The spoons that are used are heat sensitive! Its a cool touch :)
Blue bell is my favorite ice cream, but Frozen Rolls definitely rivals it and is the best ice cream place I have ever been to. They have make every order and it just tastes amazing. It’s not fast, but it’s worth the wait.
The ice cream was fine, the ordering was not. I was quoted as needing to wait 30 minutes for my order to be ready. So, I waited around the house, wasted some time, then drove out. When I got to the window they said it would be 35 minutes longer, 5 minutes longer than the total wait time I was originally given. At this point my choices were drive home and back, a round trip of about 9 miles, or sit in my car and wait. I definitely wouldn’t say the ice cream was worth waiting over an hour for.
Great service and amazing ice cream
The Matcha ice cream was good and as well as the cookies and cream
Im in love with this place.Pros:- Delicious ice cream- A lot of ice cream in a cup- Friendly staff- Super cute color changing spoons- Different than other places Ive triedCons:- I wish the inside dining area was open but at least their deck is- Came during the weekend and it was busy but sooo worth it
This place is literally the bomb. Came across while searching for ice cream places in ATX and we were not disappointed. The ice cream is super fresh and made per order so it does take more time than a regular ice cream place but its so worth it.Staff is very nice so that is a plus!
Cute little ice cream shop in downtown Austin. They have a parking lot which is a plus for their location.Came with my friends who were visiting from Cali and they loved it so well definitely be coming back...yikes!
Delicious.
Delish. Fruity pebbles👍 👍yes.
Service was excellent, and the... Ice Cream Rolls(?) Taste delicious! In the 45 minute car ride after this, the rolls lasted the entire time. A bit pricey, but nothing too much for an every-once-in-a-while treat. Watching the rolls be made was really entrancing. Will differently come here again. May recommend a friend or two!
