Ice cream is wonderful, the customer service was severely lacking. We went there on Friday night around 8:30pm. Google maps says this location closes at 10pm, but it felt like they close at 9 with the way the one of the employees was acting (the older woman). We were served and seated when two other women came in. One asked if they had any strawberry flavors and the older woman responded very rudely. The 2 customers ended up leaving. After the they left the older employee made some rude remark. This woman kept moaning and groaning about how closing is the favorite part of her day. Every time more people came in she seemed very bothered, not welcoming at all. Around 9pm she came around the counter and started cleaning the windows/doors. We had to leave because the chemical smell bothered us. Sadly I don’t think we will be retuning to this location.

Lick has good ice cream. I don’t know why people are mad about the flavor they got—you can sample them, you know? I had the chocolate olive oil sea salt and the blueberry crumble and both were super yummy. I tried the honey and thyme one and it just wasn’t for me—it’s not a bad flavor, it just didn’t suit my taste buds. There’s a way to reject flavors without bringing down a whole establishment lol. Also, the girl that helped me was super nice and friendly.

I was really excited to try this place, since everyone rages about it and says how amazing the ice cream is. Although I never tried the ice cream, the reasoning for (two stars) is that each time I’ve come to any of the locations here In Austin, they close 30-45 mins earlier then the time actual closing time, and I’ve even called to make sure they’re open and they never answer the phone, which is such a disappointment too. Maybe try updating the closing time on the website that would be really helpful, and answering phone calls.

My local friend described Lick Honest as the new kids in town, while Amys is the old boss and more traditional one in town.I love the different flavor combinations offered here. You can sample as many as you want and then decide. I decided to go with Dewberry Corn Cobbler (try it if you like corn flavor: there were pieces of crumbles and berries, very nutty) and horchata (slightly sweet, nice string rice finish, refreshing - I was told it will be discontinued at the end of June, so go fast). The ice cream is a bit icy compared to that of Amys, to be fair. But I utterly enjoyed mine nonetheless.Tip: Sample as many flavors as you want, no regrets!

I go to lick once every 2 years or so because I forget what it tastes like. Every time I’m disappointed. The ice cream is sub par and way over priced. We got a small cone and a small cup and that cost $12. If the ice cream was amazing, I’d be fine with it, but all the flavors are super watery and not creamy which is what I prefer.

Ice cream is a lot about texture and Licks ice creams have a mouth feel more like gelato, which I prefer. None of the tongue coating that creamier offerings have. And their flavors cant be beat. Standard include Texas Sheet Cake, Dark Chocolate Olive Oil + Sea Salt and Goat Cheese and Thyme, but there are also seasonal, short term delights like Lemon Pound Cake. Service is always with a smile too.

Lick makes some of the best ice cream around. I love all their seasonal flavors and sad to see some of them leave as a new season arrives. They allow you try as many flavors as youd like which is a beautiful thing considering the fact that you want to try them all before deciding. Whatever you choose, you likely wont be disappointed. I am SO glad that Lick has finally opened up their north location. Lick is seriously one of the top contenders in my book as best creamery in Austin. Unlike the more famed Amys, I feel like Lick is for the consumer with a more sophisticated palette and certainly one who likes to try various ingredient combinations than the tried and true.I love their seasonal Blushing Blueberry, which isnt as overly sweet as some of their other options, but just right. As always, I can always settle for a scoop of their Milk Chocolate, which honestly they should reconsider naming Frozen Hot Chocolate because it always reminds me of a cup of hot chocolate; or at least it reminds me of how I make my hot chocolate from scratch.

Previously I had thought Humphrey Slocombe in San Francisco to be the best ice cream I had ever had, but I just had a pint of caramel apple cake and caramel corn delivered to me and they were both PHENOMENAL. I’m trying to savor the pint of caramel apple cake with its cake bits but it’s running out far too quick and I sense I’ll be trying more of the seasonal flavors offered. It is more pricey than places like Amy’s and Baked Bear I think but it tastes amazing. I wish there was a location within walking distance of west campus, maybe y’all could open one? Not only would I frequent the place, I’d love to work there too lol. I cannot stress this enough, the caramel apple cake bits and the apple bits as well are to DIE FOR. That’s enough raving about ice cream from me

Lick is one of the better ice cream places in Austin, though the prices are a little steep for the amount of ice cream you get. The various flavors are different and unique. The quality of dairy Lick uses is awesome and you can taste the quality. The lines are usually long, but the employees behind the counter try to keep the line moving. The waffle bowls are tasty and a better option than a cone - you dont end up with a drippy soggy cone at the end.

The service person behind the counter was friendly and efficient.I wish there was more seating, especially outside. Its a small area if you want to stick around to consume your ice cream. Good tasting vegan ice cream. I purchased a pint as well! Thank you Lick!01-22-19Update : I was happy they had a few flavors of vegan ice cream in the actual Lick stores, but now they recently expanded their ice cream in other stores. Two stores that I frequent(HEB & Peoples Pharmacy)did NOT have vegan at all as an option to buy. I am very disappointed they did NOT include that in their expansion. Lick does have online purchases now as well and vegan is included, but you have to buy $99 worth to get delivered. 03-28-19

I love it here because of all the interesting flavors and ingredients. Try the roasted beet and mint, its my favorite. Plus, they bake their own waffle cones behind the counter. The Burnet location should improve customer service significantly. For some reason although I had 2 punch cards in my hands (one card completely filled), the employee asked me four times on clarifying the number of scoops.
