It’s a wonderful store full of really great herbs, candles, jewelry, etc. It’s great!Unfortunately, I was recently there with about 50 minutes til close time. None of the girls at the front got up to greet or offer any help to anyone. They just sat there talking amongst themselves. The energy felt so unwelcoming.On top of that, they kept reminding everyone often that they were closing. While I was checking out, a girl next to me asked one of the cashiers for help and the employee refused. She told her it was too late for that and to pay for whatever she had and go.Honestly, I worked retail many years. I understand it’s tiring and you want to go home, but I’m just shocked at the lack of ethic these girls have.If they don’t like their job, let someone else have it.It’s obvious the owner isn’t around much because these reviews aren’t uncommon. Considering the nature of this store, please do better.

A metaphysical store with a mask policy seems silly to me. There were no other customers in the store and the 3 ladies sitting down when I walked in were quick to ask whether or not I had a mask, rather than welcome and greet me. Not the best way to treat potential customers, in my opinion anyway.

Im a true Austiniteand although Ive heard of Ancient Mysteries, Ive never actually been in. Honestly, Im more of a Natural Treasures kinda girl when it comes to Crystals and gemstones. However, I went in recently before the last New Moon of the year (2018) for a emotional/healing cleanse and I was able to find everything I was looking for. Actually, it turned out to be a one stop shop kinda trip. I was able to get sage, eggshells and herbs aswell. They had a little bit of everything, including jewelry, books and a small selection of statues. There herb selection was great! The young girl working was very sweet, helpful and patient as I methodically went through their gemstones for 30-45 minutes. Id give it a 5, but the store is small and my only complaint is I wish they had a bigger selection of crystals and gemstones. Ill definitely be back and Im a customer for life now. Must check it out!!!

They had everything I needed and more! I went here just with the hopes of seeing some crystals and tarot but they had everything for your altar and spell needs. They were super accommodating to a beginner like me and answered a ton of questions!

Such a great variety of supplies including dried herbs, essential oils, incense, and crystals. They didn’t have the crystal I was looking for at the time but they took down my name and number and called me as soon as soon as it was back in stock.

Went here the other day with my friend, we took the bus there and actually got there about 20-30 minutes before closing,not only where the staff not welcoming but the entire atmosphere was filled with stale energy. Was mostly looking for some good beginner books for the said friend, staff did not in any way shape or form try to interact or even offer their help. The whole response yall made on her review why would you shop 5 minutes before closing we where told quite literally THE STORES CLOSED NOW when it was 6 minutes before closing. We had 2 books and where looking for a third to buy but left them because the staff was that unwelcoming.though now looking at the reviews here that attitude seems to be a trend and wont be solved due to your lack of being able to take criticism.(Edit) we where there Sunday March 28th

Nice selection of books! jewelry is gorgeous and meaningful, but pricey. herb selection is absolutely perfect! best variety i have seen. i got feverfew, motherwort, wormwood, and cinquefoil. best store for some of those more obscure herbs! has beginner crystals but is not the best place to go if youre looking for something specific/ obscure.

Ummm what a poor selection of supplies, you really could add some merch to those empty shelves. Waste of time, wont be back.

I love these guys! Always helpful, always thorough, quick to answer the phone and answer any questions, and well-stocked with lots of bits and bobs for most paths.

Decent selection but sadly Mala bracelets are different. Beads are much smaller and they are not made nearly he same as the good ones they originally had so I will have to find a new place to purchase them.

First time I went there yall told my friend and I yall was closed at 4:55pm, we had 5 more mins. Also yall didnt want to interact with us, or even try to make a sale. Got a really negative vibe, and my friend only saw 2 hoodoo/voodoo books written by white ppl. Hard pass, we arent going there again.**Edit we arrived around 4:30-40 we took the bus. I went here because I needed some Crystals. Needed some balance. They have literature on many areas including Spiritual Awakening and other metaphysical ideas. They have stuff for tarot, sage to smudge, all that stuff they wouldnt understand at Walmart. Great selection of Crystals. Lost a Star when I said my energy levels were being drained she says I might have narcolepsy. I just told her I had Clairaudience and clairsentience. I guess I was offended. I would have expected that anywhere else. Lol.

Changing my review from 5 stars. I live on the north side, but come down to Ancient Mysteries. I make sure to double check the site first since theyve been having inventory issues during the pandemic. But today I made the drive just for some chime candles. I got there 10 minutes before closing, and was turned away.

Neat little shop. I thought it would be bigger but its very small. They have spell candles, interesting books about witchcraft and meditation (to name a few), oils, herbs, and statues. The staff is warm and welcoming. I purchased a floral, minty tea blend and altar cloth.

I called ahead of time to ensure they had what I wanted. When I was told yes, I reiterated what I wanted (Buddstone African Jade). I was again told yes. I drove out of my way to the shop, and when I got there, they had the WRONG item. I wasted valuable time when I already had a full schedule. What a disappointment. Bloodstone may sound like Buddstone, but not Buddstone African Jade which I said twice. I reject their response to my review as I was very clear. The lady in the shop also told me she was not the one I spoke to, so if she is the one responding, then she doesnt know the conversation that occurred. The employee only said the name of the item once (not repeatedly) and that is why I repeated exactly what I wanted... ensuring I said African Jade again after the term Buddstone. I drove 30 minutes to the store to find out it was not what I inquired about... and 30 minutes back. What a waste.

I was delighted to find so many high quality tarot reference books in stock, as well as several tarot decks. I didnt realize until I checked some other Austin stores afterwards (Book People, Half Price Books, *cringe* Barnes & Noble) that you really cant find some of those essentials readily available at other stores. The shop is small but well stocked. I will definitely be back for incense, essential oils, and to check in on a pentacle that caught my eye in the jewelry case.

I started ordering items online from this amazing place when the pandemic hit. I love the herbs and they get to my home pretty fast. I’m very happy with them. Definitely will be ordering more items. 🖤

Some of their crystals are fake :/ bought a “malachite” pendant & didn’t realize it was fake til i got home, & of course they don’t accept returns. very disappointed 😞 i liked the candles & incense though

I really like this place! They’re close to where I live, and I’ve been in the store probably five or six times since the pandemic became an issue. So far they’ve had almost everything I’ve needed! It’s clear they’re having a bit of trouble keeping up stock, but that seems pretty common at smaller businesses during COVID so you can’t hold that against them. I placed an order for a ring of a certain size and when it came in, they called to let me know and held it for three whole days for me! I exclusively get my incense from here and their chime candles are A+ for spell work. They also had a tarot deck I’d been looking for forever, good selection of books, great altar items, and tons of herbs and oils. The staff has always been kind when I’ve come in and - maybe most importantly these days - they spray/clean all areas where the customer walks and lingers to ensure they’re following CDC guidelines. I absolutely recommend this place, especially if you want to support local businesses.

Great shop for inexpensive essentials! The woman who runs it seemed very kind. They are the only spot in town that sells my favorite incense, so its nice to be able to support a local shop rather than ordering online.

So...Im disappointed. Theres like no good metaphysical stores in Austin in seems which is tragic.I came here because of the reviews, but they had a girl working there that was dismissive and couldnt answer my questions. She was waiting on her coworker to come back from a call. Kinda annoying to work at a metaphysical store but not know anything. But the biggest thing is the place was wiped. And there was no energy. Like the place felt dead lol.Typically you can feel residual energies and they could even be negative and I would take that over dead air.Feel free to recommend good placesEdit: I would like to add Im somewhat of a witchy or metaphysical supply store addict, and am very familiar with the vibes a store gives off. Some have bad energy, some have a mysterious air like they just did a ritual in the back room the night before, and some have good energy. This one had none. Like still air. They had an alter room on display but it had no energy radiating from it. I was not alone when I went and we both commented on the same thing as we were leaving. I get things are not normal, but the owner needs to accept some criticism, as it seems they have a tendency to put down their customers for sharing their opinions. It is also one thing for a store clerk to not know anything about your products, but then to also have no interest in helping or learning. I am also not the only one who has commented on that clerks attendance. You do have one girl in there that was working hard, and it seemed the one I spoke to was heavily relying on the hardworking one for any answers to my questions...which were not answered because your other employee was away helping a customer on the phone. In general it seems this person is not contributing to a good experience and that may be why I didnt have a good time. Some stuff to contemplate.

One of the better occult shops in Austin but that’s not saying too much. Not much of a selection. If you need candles they got that but nothing too specific. Their oils look like they’re bulk made from a factory.

Women watched us as we shopped. But everyone else was free to wonder about with eyes piercing through our bodies. Limited items, and when asked questions it was short answered instead of detailed which was ridiculous because we asked something that would need much explanation. Would not recommend unless you know exactly what you want so its a in and out shopping trip or at least someone more experienced with this practice knowledge.

I had my mask underneath my glasses and they let the employee yell at me while they asked me once. It was literally sliding down my nose. I even explained it. But the fact that he wouldnt let me speak was very disrespectful. He was threatening me then, and my girlfriend wouldve called me out other wise.

This place is always good. Always has what I need.

I have never felt so unwelcome in such a store. I do not recommend.One child was in my arms and the other was in arms reach the four minutes we were in this storefront. It saddens me that children are shunned from stores such as yours while we should be including the next generation in all spiritual practices. If children are such a bother to you please consider adding a sign to your door and/or website to be considerate of peoples time. I appreciate you showing me were your tarot cards were as we had hoped to purchase a few. You have a lovely store but we need to find somewhere that welcomes all members of our family.

I have been going here off and on for years. They reliably have everything I need and more. I love the people and appreciate the fact they exist. I highly recommend stopping by if you need some essentials or something specific. Theyve got premade spell kits as well as individual herbs, stones, candles, etc.

I bought something and the lady was very rude during the transaction as well. Lady with bright orange hair. Won’t be coming again due to the service.

Beautiful and simple shop selling all manner of natural crystals, materials, and incense. The clerk was helpful and friendly. Prices are absolutely reasonable and even better than online vendors.

Ive been a loyal customer of this so for over 10 years. They are extremely knowledgeable and their prices arent nearly as high as compressive shops.

I do agree this store has great items but unfortunately its run by ignorant people. I have a disability, I own a service animal, but was was asked to show proof that my dog was a real service animal. They wanted to SEE a card or a vest. I politely answered I did not have to show any proof according to the ADA so I was asked to leave the store because it was the owners rules. They have lost my business and hopefully, if you are disabled, you wont shop there as well.

I called to see if they would stay open to get some sage. I went ar 555 when they are still open technically and they said i could come by. I get there and they tell me theyre closed at 555pm. Extremely rude. I drove 20 minutes to get here.

When you walk in the smell is just wonderful! They have so much to look at and choose from! I really enjoy the positive energy and the aroma that fill the room! I definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys this type of stuff such as I do! I will definitely be going back again!

Dropped by because I was in the neighborhood and unexpectedly found all the supplies for a hoodoo candle spell Ive been researching. Serendipity! Atmosphere was positive, staff was knowledgeable. They have a very diverse selection of spiritual supplies especially a comprehensive collection of herbs.

Place was pretty empty. Service is great. Just wasnt as welcoming as Natures Treasures and the lady running the place was more interested in catching up with a young man...I almost felt like I was in the way.

My go-to place for stones and crystals! On my most recent trip, I wasnt even sure what was the best stone to get. The young woman who worked there was very helpful. I was purchasing a stone for someone in a difficult situation. The young woman shared some things about herself that helped me immensely with deciding what to get. I was truly grateful for her honesty and helpfulness!

A full and well equipped shop with knowlegable and polite staff. It was easy to get to and well worth the trip. I found everything I needed and then some.

Its a small shop but I found everything I needed and more. I prefer to handle crystals and the like before buying, so its nice to have a local shop instead of getting something online that may not be what you want/need/expect.
