Hands down the most authentic, amazing occult shop in Austin. The owners are great and they are super knowledgeable. It is a tiny bit mighty shop. The space is utilized with actual ritual supplies for both beginner and seasoned practitioners. This is NOT some fake shop w/ a witchy aesthetic, this is an authentic supply shop and I really appreciated that. I’m from Houston area and this shop blows our shops out of the water by far. When purchasing ritual items it’s important to me that it feels right and the energy here was absolutely incredible. We got 2 Nazar amulets and 2 horseshoes :)

I went to City Alchemist on Friday and had an opportunity to meet Eric J. Labrado. Eric was so kind, and very helpful. I walked in an immediately felt at home. I got some nice beeswax candles, a glass 🧿 charm, and an amethyst bracelet. My FAVORITE item though is their book, Magia Magia. I love how the magia in the book has roots in Mexico but is really that of the Texas-Mexican border, where I was born. It really resonates with me because its so familiar. This is the way my grandmother and tia did things as well. I highly recommend the book and a visit to the shop if you havent been. — at City Alchemist.

Ive been searching for a home spiritual store after relocating from New Orleans Just visited yesterday and I must say I love everything about this magickal place. Amulets, Tarot, nice selection of rare books, Spiritual Oils and Soap. I will be returning.

I make frequent visits to Austin since Waco doesn’t have many metaphysical and/or pagan businesses. I couldn’t wait to get here since I heard about them through a group. DEFINITELY worth the drive! They have an outstanding selection of books, candles, oils, and hard to obtain items. Welcoming and positive atmosphere, and Eric is very helpful with any questions you may have. Their prices are very reasonable and the products are of exquisite quality. They also dress or fix candles to your specifications, so if you don’t see it, ask. I left with a lot of candles and a beautiful Labradorite stone. This will now be a business I will make sure to visit when I plan my monthly trips. I can’t wait to come back and see them again.

Wow, this is a wonderful place. This shop is small and makes fantastic use of their space. They have all of the essentials and rare items that are extremely difficult to find. I highly recommend this shop and the lovely staff!

I went into City Alchemist for the first time today, its a great shop if you are looking for raw materials for your workings, candles, statues, oils, books, and much more. I was a little taken back by all they had to offer so I didnt get anyones name but the person who helped me was very knowledgeable and friendly. I will be stopping in again soon.

I first heard about this place from an artist at a pop up market — and was instantly in love with the place. The energy there just feels open, alive, and welcoming, like a current. I spoke with Eric about my interest in occult history and he had a wealth of knowledge about where to start on my journey, recommending multiple readings. I will no doubt be back to learn and explore more! If you’re like me and are simply interested in learning about occultic practices, or if you’re advanced in magick, City Alchemist will no doubt have something new and wonderful for you. 🌟

This is a great place to find rare occult books, Mexican imports, unique metaphysical accessories from local artists, candles, herbs, oils gemstones, spiritual waters, oracle cards, tarot cards, modern books on: Brujeria, conjure, curanderismo, ceremonial magic, hoodoo, shamanism, witchcraft, and soo much more. Upon entering the vibe is calm and clean. You are greeted by the shopkeepers pleasantly and feel welcomed immediately. Between the two of them, they are very knowledgable and can point you in the right direction if you have any questions. I have visited this location numerous times and each time I walk away with wonderful items, knowledge and feeling great. I highly recommend City Alchemist for those who wish to have a pleasant experience without ego and without the superficial airs that so many metaphysical shops tend to exude. If you seek authenticity, this is the spot for you!

New favorite occult shop, was surprised to hear that they are a recent open ! Their book selection is impressive, covering areas of topic ranging from Enochian magick and Herbalism to Conjure Rootwork and Demonology. Has much Santa Muerte iconography, which I didn’t know but became apparent that’s what drew me. Several herbal waters and anointing oils available as well, amidst any kind of candle one would need. The shop is small but the selection is not, and I love their incorporation of left-hand practices as well, many shops don’t offer such resources for those wanting to branch out past the “love and light” side of practice. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, will be visiting again soon. Best wishes !
