Matt and Ed installed the oil tank. They did a great job, were very knowledgeable, answered questions, and were very polite.
The initial start was a little rough. Judy Hoover did a wonderful job in service recovery and keeping me informed!! Carroll did an excellent job in installing the gas lines for my new pool heater. Judy worked with the county to ensure that they came out on time and communicated back with me a timeline which was kept I appreciate all the efforts and I love the Outcome!!! Thanks Carroll for a job well done and I can’t wait to use my new pool heater!!!
We have used Carroll for almost 20 years and their service has always been great. Mohammed did a fantastic job for us today servicing our A/C units.
Carroll Home Services is outstanding. They have provided maintenance on our systems and most recently performed a multi-system installation. Everything was handled in the most professional manner from the initial estimate to the installation. The person who provided us with the estimate was thorough and concise, providing a detailed estimate before he left. The company scheduled us for the installation on our schedule. The crew that did the installation was incredibly professional and worked hard to ensure a quality installation. They kept us informed throughout the process, provided us with the necessary information about maintenance, and left our house cleaner than it was before they started. We would use their services again and continue to use their annual maintenance contracts to keep our units working efficiently.
Very disappointed lately. Our AC stopped cooling the house suddenly and we had them service the unit in mid July. The technician replaced the capacitor and added refrigerant because he thought there may be a leak but then said he didnt think it was a leak. Everything was working for the next couple weeks and then we had our annual tune-up done 3 days ago (when I called in March the earliest I could get an appointment was August). Now 3 days after tuning it up the AC is no longer working to cool the house and the refrigerant line was frozen earlier today when we checked it. Now we have to have Carroll Home Services come a third time to hopefully address and fix the issue. Only giving 2 stars because the people we have worked with so far have been nice but its very frustrating that a service call and a tune up have not addressed the issue(s).
The earliest we could get a ac tuneup was October. The mans response was the ac should be good for next year then.
Response and communication with billing, charges on my account that should have been removed for services that did not correct the problem with my HVAC.The charge I am referring to has been verified by the supervisor (Eric Cooper) of the repair technician for my area.
On April 27th we called about an emergency plumbing issue and voiced we were leaving town, it was suggested we turn the water off in the home and wait for a tech to call. Upon returning we followed up to see when a tech would be out to be told the emergency 24/7 plumbing services is non existent in fact the plumber works Monday - Friday, so now we are waiting for a supervisory tech to call us on Monday for an emergency plumbing issue we have been trying to get fixed with Carrolls since we have a large credit on our account. The oil delivery guy was nice, 2 customer service reps said they couldnt hear me and hung up and the advertised 24/7 emergency plumbing services are false. If we didnt have such a large credit with this company and limited funds we would not even still be exploring using this company for this or other services.Update Wed, May 12th. One thing for sure, Carroll Home Services hires some awesome techs. Today Dan, tech #171 came out and fixed our plumbing issue, he was prompt, friendly and most of all he got the job done, while considering what was best for both my needs and my pocket. I would dare to say Dan was excellent, he was able to work around our mess and full house, I think he was sent out to salvage our relationship with the company, but that was an awesome move. Hope to not need you in the future, but if we have a plumbing issue, we will be asking for Dan, tech #171.
Was very impressed with the overall service. Josh arrived early and explained very clearly the new system I required. Carroll came recommended and did not disappoint!
My furnace went up on a Monday. They sent a technician on the same day and diagnosed that I had a cracked heating unit. I was able to purchase a new furnace on Tuesday from Carroll. They said due to an impending snow storm, the delivery of the furnace looked like it would be pushed back until the next Tuesday. That would mean no heat for a week and no head during a snow storm. The Carroll office staff was so concerned that I would not have heat during a snow storm that they went above and beyond to make arraignments for the furnace to be picked up and installed the next day! So from the time my furnace stopped working, I had a new furnace installed and working in 3 days. All while working around the logistics of dealing with an incoming snow storm.
Professional and polite will see how their services this winter
They give great service. All members of the co. including drivers are very nice and cordial. They will work with you whatever your need.
I had to give them 1 star to post this review. If I could, I would give them -5 stars. This is the most unprofessional company! My order was scheduled for Monday, but they never showed. I called and was told they would deliver Tuesday. They didnt because it was too dark. According to the supervisor, since my oil was on the truck for delivery Tuesday, I would receive it today. I called today and guess what? They said it will be delivered tomorrow! They have my money, but I dont have my oil and no one can give me an explanation! Still waiting for a call back from Sarah or Darlene to get on the schedule for TODAY, not tomorrow. Of course, if they wait too long, it will be too dark to deliver. SMDH
Carroll Home Services are consistently above-average service for the last three years. Theyre heating repairmen men are expert; prices competitive. Front office personnel are compassionate. worked out a billing arangement when I list my job. Thus, consistently good to excellent.
Ran out of oil and called in to have them come out since a winter storm was coming. Was told they couldnt get a truck out till three days later. Called multiple times to get it done sooner and all they could do is bring a small amount that lasted all of one day. Had to call again and all we could get was another small amount. All of this while it was snowing outside and we were freezing inside our house trying to not use up the small amount they gave us. Only reason I gave 3 stars is because the guys who came with the emergency amount were very helpful.
Woke up this morning to a cold house. Seems the old boiler shut down due to no flame. Tried a reset twice, came on then no flame. Called up Carroll, got a nice service advisor, around 7:30am. By 10am, service technician is in the driveway. Found a broken wire on the control box, did a slow oil leak repair, put a clean nozzle on the burner, checked performance, and sweet, weve got heat again. Long time customer, and will continue to be one.
The gentleman who serviced our burner was very professional and customer service oriented. In fact all the years we have had service from this company he was the best service man we have had yet. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything out to us and was done in a reasonable amount of time. I would ask for him again. He was very polite and genuinely concerned about his work and his customer. Our furnace was serviced on September 20th. 😊
Very professional operation, quality service technicians and drivers; oil delivery program excellent for those persons on a fixed budget.
Called for service help and the technician came out the same day. He was friendly and helpful (as always). He explained everything to me in a way that I could understand. This is why we’ve been satisfied Carroll customers for over 20 years.
Ran out of oil on a Friday night. Called Saturday morning to ask about an oil delivery. Was told they couldn’t deliver until Monday. Sent tech out with 10 gallons which lasted until 7:30 Saturday night. Called a competitor and had oil delivered Sunday morning. No excuse for allowing a customer to run out of oil and if you do you would think they would do everything in their power to make it right. Glad I made the switch.
We have been customers since the mid 1990s and would never consider using any other company to service our furnace or heat pump. Carroll Home Services are always prompt, courteous and get the problem fixed on the first visit.
The absolute worst customer service ever. Additionally, they price gouge. If you are buying fuel oil from Carroll, do yourself a favor, call a competitor and you will get a 40% better price.........simple!
On October 20,2020, a new oil tank and oil line was installed. Matt and Ed did an excellent job. They also explained things as they went along. We are very satisfied with the work they did. Thank you.
Had technician #183 - Multi come out and serviced the hot water heater. He did an excellent job, went over and above the call of duty. I am in construction myself and really appreciate great work!
Technician arrived in the time frame noted. He wore a mask following covid guidelines. Was very personable. Found the problem right away and fixed it. We have been with Carroll Fuel for more than 20 years and they never let us down!
Milady, from their Baltimore location supplied me an extremely competent exchange and excellent service. I am overly aware that the success of my customer service interaction is dependent on my attitude and ability to conduct myself professionally. Being so, I am aware of the delicate line between supplying great service and receiving great service. A customers understanding and interpretation of this service must not conform to the antiquated view that “the customer is always right.”Being aware of this commerce dynamic I take every necessary step to assure my customer service experience is proficient in leaving me less room for misunderstanding or misinterpretation. Thus, it is rare for me to end a call without leaving my customer service personnel in a pleasant mood so to help them continue to supply the next customer their best service. We must do our part as customers. I highly recommend Carrol Home Services.
THEY TALKED US INTO A SERVICE PLAN, CAME AND TOLD US TO INSTALL A DAMPNER, NEVER CAME BACK TO CHECK IT, FURNACE SOOTED UP TO WERE THE ENTIRE UNIT HAD TO BE REPALCED AT 6K AND THEY SAID THATS TOO BAD EVERYONE WE TALKED TO AFTERWARDS COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. HAD PERCISION COME AND REPLACE THE UNIT.
Carroll fuel company has always been very good in service and products.
Rick, our tech yesterday, should be (maybe he is) the head of the entire department. Efficient, professional and thorough. Glad we got him to service our furnace issue and yearly tune-up.
So I was shopping around because I had bought a new home. I called a couple oil and servicing places with no real experience on how a oil furnace worked. When I called Petro (who is also Carroll) they where very patient with me and motivated to get my business. Customer service and sales rep where very professional and transparent with my questions. Also willing to make a deal when fit. The same day I called I had a technician who came to the house and was very informative and polite. I am happy with my experience so far and glad I decided to use this service.
Just overall unhappy on how they conduct business. They left out details about how their sales program is ran and hide behind certain verbiage.
Really great fuel oil delivery and service.
The technician, Earl, that came out on an emergency call on Fathers Day was fantastic!! He identified the issue and fixed it in a very timely manner. He was very professional and courteous - he saved the day!! Awesome job!!
Called Carroll assuming that they can fix our broken A/C and relieved us from the stifling heat. A tech, who was promised to come between 12-3, came at 4:30 for a diagnostic visit ($99) and claimed that they did not have the part to fix our A/C. Next morning we got a call from Carroll saying the repair was going to cost $700+.Instead of using them, we called Long Green. They arrived on time, were totally honest and had the part in their van. They were also trustworthy and transparent. The cost? $350 for the repair and peace of mind.I have used Carroll on and off for few years but will never use them again.
A work in progress. They could not fix their own relatively new system. Did come out quickly but for no purpose. Cannot contact them the next day, phones down. There may be a reason will follow up.
Technician was respectful, knowledgeable and professional represented the company well look forward to being your customer for years to come.
I had my furnace and water heater serviced yesterday.I believe my technicians name was Anthony, he was extremely professional, polite and respectful. He did the service in an efficient and timely manner. As he was leaving I outstretched my hand to shake his and he politely reminded me we were not allowed to shake hands.
Today I was grateful to meet the high quality tank crew of Matt & Ed. Our church oil tank was having a problem with a device called the vent alarm. When Matt & Ed drove up in their clean Carroll Home Service truck, they walked over to the tank, removed the cap where the oil goes in, blew in it and said Its broke. Thinking I was about to be taken for a ride, I asked them to explain how they came to that conclusion. They then unscrewed the vent pipe, showed me a piece of plastic that fell out of the tube and said That shouldnt be like that. Thinking I was still on the ride, I asked Okay, whats it suppose to be? Thats when Ed went to their truck pulled out a good vent alarm, showed it to me, screwed it onto the tank (I skipped a couple steps here), blew into the opening where the oil goes and I heard the high pitched sound! I now understand why it is called the vent alarm. Seeing that I was very low on oil, they then pumped some oil into the tank to hold me until a delivery could be scheduled. While the oil was being pumped into the tank, we heard the lovely high pitched sound from the vent alarm.Bottomline, Matt & Ed know their stuff, know how to explain stuff to us novices and are a superb example of high quality service. This is how you build loyal customers!
Love Carroll Home Services! Always fast and experienced service when needed!
Arrived on time. Work performed quietly and efficiently. Office staff strong on providing good customer service. A pleasure doing business with.
Carroll is great. Usually no wait in getting a tech out for help. Had to call out a tech because I accidentally turned off the emergency switch (I had no idea what the switch did). The tech was super nice about it and went ahead and did a cleaning. Something went wrong and the heater didnt work the next day, so I called and they sent out a follow up tech. Muhammad tech #179 came out and took a look. He was very nice and respectful and fixed the problem.
Budget Billing works for us! Thanks!!
David was very good and knowledgeable in repairing my AC unit. I would recommend him if you need AC work ..Thanks
This company claims to have delivered 118 gallons of oil to my fathers house 5 months after he passed away and 3 months after his home was sold. We advised Carrolls accounting office of his death, along with a copy of death certificate and ended the contract. We have tried to correct this several times to no avail. The new family was living in the house for 2 months when Carroll supposedly deluvered oil. Kind of think they wouldve noticed the truck in their driveway...
Excellent service with cheerful and very polite service man. He fixed the problem and made some modifications that should prevent this problem from happening again. I would recommend this company to anyone.
I always had a good experience with Carroll home services
On time and very helpful explaining how the system works. Made a through check of AC system removing panel’s as needed to see coils. Tommy is very friendly and professional.
Muhammad #179, was great. He came in diagnosed my issue and went to work. After a cold night last night, we are warm again. Thanks Muhammad!
Excellent tech came to repair our oil burner. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and completed the job quickly. I recommend highly.
Responsive, friendly and always available.
We needed a prime and start on the weekend. Travis German (#180) was here promptly at 8 am. Gave the system a good once over and had me up and running in no time. To top it off he gave us some helpful tips on managing our system more efficiently in the future. Solid service call.
They increase your payment amount without ever notifying you.
We had a heating issue contacted Carroll Fuel Home service today, Tech by name of Muhammad ID#179 came. He was very polite, professional, came in a timely manner, answered all my Moms questions, He was very thorough, A job well done! Thanks because Temps were Brrr!. Thank you again, Muhammad and Carroll Fuel Home Services. We have Heat!
I wanted to like Carroll, because Ive enjoyed their service techs who come out. However, over my 5 year period of being a customer they have let my oil run out 2x. This most recent time I didnt get a notification, and its the middle of January. I went with Griffith Energy, who is coming out for same day delivery and is considerably more affordable than Carroll.
Carroll Home Services is the epitome of good customer service. They will pick up the phone 24/7 and can be out on the site the same day. They will work very hard for your business. The service is great too; its quick, done by seasoned experts, and the pricing is a good value. For all these reasons, I would not hesitate when recommending them to families and friends.
Let me tell you about our service person Dan #171. He came to our home and fixed our faulty heating system. He went above and beyond his job and worked in the spirit of excellence! We are so pleased!
Used Carroll Fuel for 12 years for home heating oil delivery, and the customer service was consistently friendly and good. I did not use auto fill, and would call when my tank was a little under half full. They came promptly and didn’t bug me if I didn’t pay right away (but there is a late fee). They also took care not to damage my landscaping. They removed my old oil furnace and installed a new one for a comparable price. The only thing, however, I don’t think their price to maintain or repair furnace was competitive with other companies.
Travis German (Tech # 180) serviced our furnace and air conditioning today. He did an outstanding job and I would like to request that he be our permanent technician. Weve had some past trouble with fuel deliveries from Carroll Fuel and had been considering looking for another company. But with the professional service provided by Travis has restored our confidence with the company. George Boteler
I have been with Carroll for over 25 years. I can honestly say my experiences with heating oil deliveries has never been an issue. Their deliveries have been on time and Ive never run out of oil.I have always had a service plan, and with the annual tune ups and cleaning. We have had only a couple unexpected service calls. The service techs always leave the furnace and hot water heater very clean when their done. No oil smell when they leave.....thats nice. With regards to purchasing my heating, Its been a pleasure working with Ellie. Having her own heating oil business at one time, she really knows a lot about the business. I have a large tank, and I like to order the oil on my own. Even with me ordering when I want, she calls me, just to make sure Im keeping an eye on the oil level. Good thing for me she does that!Im staying with Carroll, and thanks again Ellie.
BEWARE: Received my bill and compared my price with local competitors that offer the same service. Carroll Home Services price per gallon of oil fuel was $1.00 more per gallon! 178 gallon fill up cost me $178 more. Switched to Southern Maryland Oil.
Extremely prompt service when our heat ceased functioning- they even offered a middle of the night appointment, which I declined.
Tech was wonderful. Completed oil and ac tune up and went the extra mile. Thanks!
I just spoke with Unique in customer service at Carroll and she was EXCELLENT! She was truly professional and provided me with incredible service. I have found all of the people I have spoken with there over the last three years to be phenomenal. I would highly recommend Carroll Home Services, customer service agent Unique and all of their staff to my friends and family. Thank you for taking such good care of us!
This company’s accounting practices are absolutely atrocious. Their way of making things “right” is just getting you to pay more money but in different way. Sort of like the restructuring of an NFL contract only the beneficiary is Carroll. You are nothing but a number to them. They care not for you, your family or your home.Run away screaming from Carroll home services bit hold onto your wallet. You’ll be glad you did.
We just had our heating and air conditioning serviced today by Travis. He performed the yearly cleaning and checkup on both units. I have never dealt with a more polite and knowledge technician. He answered every question I had, gave me some tips to keep our equipment running well and explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. I couldnt be happier with his work and communication. In this day of social media and lack of actual communication it was very nice to have a person like Travis at my home.
Some confusion about my yearly service but Carroll Fuel understood and took care of the problem. Glad to have my air-conditioning back
Dealing with this company has been a nightmare. I was in their program that spread out the cost of heating monthly throughout the year.June - I had mini-splits installed and also received my final yearly bill from them. I called to cancel and they offered to push the final bill to September. Great, cost deferred.July - Receive another final bill from them. Its not September, but thats fine. Im pretty sure I called again at this point to pay and terminate service.August - Receive a bill for 130$ as if I was still in their monthly program. Call, third month in a row. Tell them Ill call them when I need oil, I dont need this program anymore.September - Another bill for 130$! How hard is it to remove me from this program?! Call again, tell them its ridiculous and once again ask to be out of this program.November - I got a different kind of bill in November. THEY DELIVERED OIL TO MY HOUSE AFTER 4 CONSECUTIVE MONTHS OF ME TELLING THEM I DIDNT WANT OIL. Thankfully my tank was 3/4 the way full so the damage was *only* 100$.Resolution? They admit they are partly responsible but it was still (mostly) my fault because I (allegedly) only asked to be taken out of the payment plan and not the auto delivery plan. WHAT?! What part of I wont be needing oil and can call you when I do dont you get?So now I have oil I didnt ask for. I could either blow a day of work and have them remove the oil or buy the oil at 1.79$ / gallon. I opted to buy the oil for two reasons, first, Id be losing more money staying home from work than I would paying their ransom. Second, they said it would be difficult to get exactly what they put in, which I took as an implication that there was a chance theyd be taking more out than they put in.Ive closed my account. Regardless of who is at fault for the oil delivery, it took four months to make a simple change to my account. I strongly recommend that you do not do business with this company.
Started off good after another company left me with no oil. Unfortunately, after being a customer for four years I found out I was behind in my bill by almost an entire seasons worth of oil. I never received any notice at any time that I was behind. I always paid my bill (monthly plan). I wrote a letter questioning the amount. According to their policies on the back of my bill, they are supposed to 1) acknowledge receiving my letter and 2) investigate my claims and provide a response. They did neither. They did send my account to a lawyer to collect payment (against their own policies as stated on the back of my bill). THESE GUYS ARE HORRIBLE AT BILLING, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ATROCIOUS. USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK. Im still trying to resolve this issue and winter is coming.
Been a customer for years. Tank ran dry several times. So obviously auto delivery isnt their specialty. Currently been trying UNSUCCESSFULLY FOR 2 DAYS!!!! to get oil. And this with an account balance of -$105 (YEP A $!00 in the black!! ) and still no oil. Customer service and delivery are not linked together. 5 phones calls and 2 promises of delivery and guess what? NO OIL!!!!! Not to worry my next phone call is to a different company. I suggest you start there and save yourself the money and aggravation
Technician was thorough, positive, and took the time to ensure our systems were ready for the summer season.
I have been with Carroll for over 20 years. Outta there, been on a payment plan with them for decades, last couple of years I get continous collection calls because I had a tank top off at the end of the season that also was the same time my Smart Plan renewed. I am to pay for the entire tank of oil i just had delivered and continue to pay my monthly payment plan. We would wound up with a huge credit balance on our account. I though payment plans paid off a balance not create a credit balance, they dont pay interest??? Im shopping
Fast, reliable, courteous. Knowledgeable technician (Will).
Sharon in Customer Service is extraordinary! She is a reliable link to all departments and will answer questions/fix billing issues/ link you to repair solutions immediately. She doesnt pass you off to someone else. She is easy to get to and always has a friendly positive attitude. Another important reason I stay with Carroll Home Services!
The tech came here Muhammad #179 for tune up, he is great, respectful and professional.
I just had a heating problem and Muhammad #179 came and fixed the problem. He was very professional and thorough. I was pleased with his customer service.
New customer. Muhammad did an excellent job giving my old furnace an over due cleaning & tune up.
This company has terrible customer service representatives. They do not explain anything properly and do not answer questions. I am a first time customer with oil heating, and this company, and will never use them again. I do not recommend using them. I was on a budget billing plan of $100 a month to cover my (automatic fill) heating plan. When I received my 1st bill of over $500, I called to set up the payment plan. Asked how many times they would come out and how the payment plan worked. I was told I was on automatic fill and they calculate how much oil I would need for the heating period, then budget that per month equaling to a $100 payment per month. When I received my 2nd bill of almost $500, I called again to verify my payment plan of only $100 per month because I did not understand how a bill of now almost $1000 was going to be paid in the months I was living at this townhouse if I was only paying $100 per month. The 3rd time they came to fill I said no thank you, but someone came the next day and filled it anyway. By the end of the 6 months of heating my total came out to over $1500. I spoke to someone in March because I did not want the 3rd fill but they couldnt do anything about that because the driver had already filled. I also had my monthly payment increased to $150 to try to pay this outstanding bill and then was told to call back in May when my 6 month heating period was over to make further payment arrangements. The survey reviewer told me they could set up a new payment plan to pay the rest of my bill of almost $1000. So I now have 1/2 a tank of oil that I wont be using and still have to pay for and the remaining 4 months I am living in this townhouse to pay almost $1000 when I should have been budgeted at about $250 from the beginning and the bill would have been paid at the end of the 6 month heating cycle. Thats how budget billing is supposed to work.
I am so impressed by the response I received from Carrolls General Manager, Mr. Les Austin to a complain I posted about a new furnace burner. Mr. Austin is clearly an awesome new leader of Carrol who promised to fix the problem at no cost. This is how you build trust with your customers and retain them for ever. Kudos!!!!
Tom did an excellent job of cleaning my oil burner.
Ive had many issues with delivery for the past 2 winters. They say they are coming for fuel delivery, but they generally dont show up until 2-3 days after the scheduled delivery. The people in customer service, however, are incredibly patient, kind, and so helpful, particularly Unique and Jeri. I wish these women were in charge of deliveries--I believe theyd get it done professionally and timely!
The tech was well prepared and very professional and did an excellent job. I wish there were more like him.
Arnold was a great tech and got me set up with propane delivery the same day. Was great at explaining what needed to be done but also helped solve a problem with low propane.
I just got off the phone with Carroll and I have to say their customer service is excellent. Ive been a customer for over 15 years and Ive always been please with their service. Techs are impressive and drivers are friendly.I know most people leave these days leave reviews to vent but I want to give credit where credit is due. GREAT JOB CARROLL!
The technician showed up on time, was very courteous, and explained everything.
I have been using Carroll Home Services for 14 years. They are wonderful. If I ever have a concern or just a random question I know I can call and speak to one of their wonderful customer service reps. Most recently I spoke to Ellie regarding the oil price cap program. She was very helpful and friendly.
Muhammad was kind and courteous very professional his work was efficient and effective thank you
I am currently deployed to Bahrain for the Navy and this Company has been nothing but trouble. My wife and I had a new oil furnace and AC system installed about 15 months before I deployed. Several months after the install we noticed a small amount of residue building up on the exterior of the flue liner which I didnt react to as I had seen small traces of this on our old furnace and knew that it can sometimes happen when condensation occurs in the exhaust. In hindsight, mild temperatures may have been masking the issue (since the unit wasnt running as often). Right before I deployed I noticed that the residue had gotten much worse and decided to get a Carroll service tech to look into the issue. I did plenty of research before he arrived and told him that I was fairly certain that exhaust temperature was running too low and leading to the moisture issue. He agreed and discovered that the oil injector nozzle on the burner that they had installed was undersized with respect to what is required by the manufacturers spec sheet on the furnace. The specs are posted on a sticker on the furnace and clearly I could see that the Carroll installers didnt check this when they installed the product. He quickly swapped out the nozzle with a larger one and the exhaust temperature increased (surprise!). The tech was sure to note the discrepancy in his service report so that I could attempt to avoid the $110 service charge. A month later I received the bill and called Carrol to explain the situation. The lady I spoke with said she would speak to her manager to waive the fee....this never happened and I just keep getting the bills. In fact, Im pretty sure they stopped delivering oil until we pay the bill. Nonetheless, this $110 ripoff has added stress to my wife and I at a time while I am deployed for the Navy overseas. Despite multiple phone calls, they refused to waive the bill stating that I am outside of the 12-month labor warranty.UPDATE - Carroll Home Services finally came around and refunded my service fee...Ive adjusted my rating accordingly.
Unique was very knowledgeable when answering all of my questions. She is a breath of fresh air I usually dread talking to customer care/ Service reps but I actually enjoyed my communication wit her and I am now a returning faithful customer. Trish was helpful as well.
You have an employee named Unique that helped me set up an air conditioning repair and she was VERY pleasant. You should promote her and give her a big raise. Its employees like her that keep a business running smoothly. Great customer service.
Absolutely the worse place to deal with, Customer service is horrible. If you have any disputes whatsoever, They automatically send you to collections. They curse at you on phone in billing dept., And the the credit dept is unprofessional. They will run your credit without your permission numerous times causing your credit score to drop. It is counted as hard inquiries, and stays on your credit for 2 years. I am now a proud customer of Corbin. Thanks for showing how unprofessional you are, It helps me appreciate Corbin Fuel much better.
I have been a Carroll customer for 11 years, but today I am beyond frustrated. At the end of my 4 hour service appointment window with no phone call saying the tech was running late I called and was told he was in route to my house. 30 minutes later he still hadnt shown. I called and they told me the tech was still on his previous job. After telling them I was just told he was on his way they changed their story and said that he was actually on his way. 15 minutes later a very rude technician, Scott, showed up and argued with me that he was not late. He then stormed out of my house banging his tool bag and bucket all over my furniture claiming he was leaving. After another call to customer service I got a passive supervisor, Chris, who did do his best to get another technician dispatched the same night, but he was not very apologetic. I was not allowing Scott back in my house. My husband had gotten home from work in the midst of all of this and spoke with Scott who was sitting in his truck. Scott insisted he did nothing wrong and was unapologetic. My husband and I own a company and would never allow our employees to treat a customer the way I was treated.Last winter they let our tank run dry despite being on auto fill. It took them 12 hours to fill it despite my constant calls that I had a child home sick who also happens to have asthma. I got the run around every time I called getting different stories each time. The last time we had a service call the technician was over 2 hours late. Same issues. No phone call to say they were late. No apologies. But at least he was kind.Their services and employees were excellent until about a year and a half ago. I am not sure what changed in their company, but I will be canceling my service soon.
I highly recommend Carroll home services. I had a problem with my a.c unit and Carroll provide me with exceptional customer service I spoke to a customer service representative April she was pleasant and very professional. She scheduled me for service that day. Tech came out found the problem and fixed the issue. I truly can say you can depend on Carroll!!
Muhammad was wonderful tech. # 179. Heat was out at my ederly relatives home and he fix it
Carroll Home Services charges an arm and a leg for less than mediocre work. Many of their technicians are inexperienced and fresh out of HVAC school, so their work does not justify their service charge. They pride themselves on 24/7 service but are in fact not a full service company. If you call in the middle of the night their ONE dispatcher covering the night shift will do everything in his power to push your service call off until after 8am the next day.I know these things because I foolishly hired them for service work. I paid the company $122 for a service call after 5pm for a leaking water heater. Around 10pm, after waiting since 5pm for a call, nobody from the company had showed, so I gave them a call. When I called a man answered the phone and I was told that somebody would have to come in the morning. When I asked for a manager he told me he was the only on in the office and to call back in the morning. I paid the higher fee to get somebody to my home that night because they claim to be a 24/7 service company. The company eventually sent an extremely young tech out who said my unit needed to be replaced. I called another company (local one) who was able to do a repair. My unit is now working fine and it didnt need to be replaced. When I called for a refund of my $122 (or at least the difference between the morning and night call) I was told that I couldnt get one since someone did come out. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS! Find another company.
Was a longtime Carroll customer - 13+ years - and the former homeowners (relatives) were customers for many years before that. Based on our experiences, wed recommend considering other oil suppliers/servicers. We have oil heat and an indirect hot water heater. Other than Carroll having replaced the indirect hot water heater tank ~5 years ago, the system hasn’t changed since we moved in.Five years ago, around the time Carroll replaced the indirect hot water system, Carroll wanted to add a “zone” to our “Ultra” service policy. After many heated discussions they relented; the system and service policy was the same as we’d always had from day one. Then comes this past Saturday. No heat no hot water. Saturday evening, a very polite young tech comes out to take a look. He concludes that the wiring looks fine, and, more likely than not, the circulator pump was out again, so we had to wait until Monday for a certain specialized repair person. When the events of ~5 years ago occurred, that same repair person also came to the house. And it wasn’t good. Specifically, on December 17, 2014 I wrote to Carroll: “Furthermore, on walking in, the [individual] didnt introduce himself (I wasnt home this morning to meet him, and when I phoned Carroll this afternoon, [the Carroll customer rep] told me she was sending a supervisor, so thats who I initially thought this was), walked right downstairs, grabbed our paper towels to sop up the water, and said he was thinking of telling my wife this morning this might happen. If so, why didnt he? To put it mildly, Im furious.”Suffice to say, Monday this same person show up. After the last experience, I’d apprised Carroll he was not welcomed back, so it’s disconcerting theyre nevertheless sending him. But knowing there wasn’t going to be any heat or hot water absent his service, I relented. Turned out it wasn’t the circulator pump, but, instead, the same control board the tech had looked at Saturday, the plumber saying it was fried (maybe it got fried Saturday evening when the tech had the cover off and was playing with it and it sparked at him). Fried, and replaced at a cost of $335; not covered by the “Ultra” policy because it wasn’t covered due to the zones. Same zone issue I’d had heated conversations with Carroll about in 2015, and entirely arbitrary and capricious and perhaps worth arguing via other mechanisms in other forums. There has been some communication with Carroll management, but no resolution, and the current trajectory is that wed appear to be switching suppliers/servicers shortly come the end of a pre-contracted term.
I cannot get them to stop delivering oil to my mothers house. Staring in January, I have informed them several times that the house is unoccupied, but they keep topping it off, even now in May. Despite it being unoccupied per their own notes, they re-enrolled the property into the service agreement. However, I just spoke with Carole and she was very professional. She has taken off the charge for the Automatically Renewed Service Agreement and a late charge.Maybe these folks are OK after all!
Muhammad, tech #179, did an outstanding job and fixed our problem quickly.
So sad to leave after 17 years, but I can no longer afford them. They are significantly higher than other local companies and claim its because they offer 24/7 service. Well, guess what - other companies do, too and they charge far less (AND have higher Google ratings). Im mad at myself for not comparing prices earlier.
I was ready to leave Carroll Fuel after 16 years, due to delivery problems. Ellie and I spoke several times to resolve my issues. Ellie is wonderful and patient. She reviewed pricing and my budget program, apologize for any inconvenience.Ellie is the one to go to if you have any problems. There will always be problems to fix in a big company. Its the good people that you employ to handle those problems that make the difference.Ellie makes a difference, Ellie, thank you very much for taking the time to work with me.Michele G.
We have been with Carroll for years. In the past 2+ years their service has deteriorated a lot. We have run out of oil for a week during the coldest period of weather during the entire year ( we are on automatic delivery). We have had oil delivered at the end of the heating season resulting in an overage of over $1000 which we were asked to pay immediately. And when we worked out a payment plan I was hounded by a collection agency multiple times a week throughout the agreed upon payment period who said they had no documentation of the payment plan. And although we have asked for someone to be home when oil is delivered, Carroll does not call ahead as requested. We have been given incorrect information and most recently have discovered that we are being charged significantly over market rate for oil.....
