Although I would prefer to leave a stellar review, I really cant. I booked a hair color and a haircut appointment with a stylist today 10/8 in the afternoon. My first appointment at the Cedar Hills Crossing Ulta Beauty Hair Salon was about three months ago with Christine. I left the salon happy with the color, cut and overall experience. Todays appointment wasnt booked with Christine because she was absent. The young stylist who took care of me probably meant well, but the end result is a disaster. When I got home, I noticed the color on both side of my face and on top of my head is purple! Furthermore, this unattractive color wasnt evenly applied in the root area, so there are empty patches. This color doesnt fit me at all. For $150.00 including tips, I expected much more. I have very dark brown or almost black hair. So, I called the salon and talked directly to the stylist whose name starts with M. She offered to fix this horrible color next Friday. I agreed to go back to Ulta then, but I am not sure I want to waste another afternoon and take a risk. Tomorrow afternoon, I am planning to go back to Ulta and speak with a manager to see if that is the best option. This second visit at Ulta was supposed to be a relaxing one. I feel stressed out and highly disappointed in the lack of care and skill on the part of this stylist. Christine is the BEST!!! Finally, Id like to add the hairdresser applied gloss and other products, which I still can smell hours later. My overall experience at this hair salon today is subpar to my medium to high expectation. Hopefully, the manager will step in and offer an option to remedy this disastrous visit.
Good products but dont do curbside pick up…theyll make you wait forever and you’ll end up having to go in to pick up orders. Just expect to go in.
I came in to pick up my birthday gift (june) and some other stuff and the cashier told me I have to buy something from that specific brand which was bumble and bumble to get my free gift. Left the store with nothing :(. Washington square people are so much nicer.
I had my first Ultra shopping experience yesterday at it was AMAZING! I was little embarrassed to ask for a shopping buddy (I needed a complete makeup kit overhaul) but the girl said I know who to call!.. (cue angel noises).. Jason!!! He helped me select each product and shared a fantastic wealth of knowledge in the most easy to understand and fun way! From primer, to pallets, to brushes, to finishing spray and EVERYTHING in between! He even let me know about the rewards card! (Yes!) I was SO HAPPY and I felt like I made a friend! Ill only shop here from now on! Thank you sweet manager lady for your help too and letting me borrow Jason for so long! Hahahha update: I did my face today.. 10/10!
This place is a true A to Z of fashion and glamour needs.... From smelling amazing to looking like a movie star.... Their staff really know their stuff when it comes to hair and make-up and the true last layer to complete the overall look and feel the famous do... Their perfume and cologne line up are among the top of the top and always on stock do as not to be disappointed.... So go wild and have fun... Its impossible not too at ULTA.....
When it comes to Ulta, I tend to get easily overwhelmed. I have a really hard time navigating this store, especially when busy. I always just aimlessly wander around until Im noticed. The last time I was there, last weekend, I was helped by two amazingly friendly women who helped me figure out good skincare for my skin-- which is very, VERY dry. I get cracked lips often, and my skin basically just tends to flake all the time in my T zone. I wish I got these womens names, because the help I got has improved my skin so drastically in just five or six days! Theres an immediate difference!! Im so glad I went to this location, which actually offers Laura Mercier, my favorite brand, and has very competent employees! I definitely plan to never return to the 185th location unless I have to, these ladies seriously won my heart! I also appreciate the organization of this location-- much less chaotic. Ive never seen the line at this store get in the way of customers, unlike the 185th location where the line can go around half the store, taking up a lot of sections. Ive never personally had any serious issues with the 185th location, but it is a much bigger hassle to get in and out of that store than it is with this one. Good job Cedar Hills! :)
I was really pleased with the selection in this store. The employees were helpful and not intrusive. I got a palette and some bubble bath. I really do cant believe that I used to swatch things! (This has nothing to do with Ulta as I know they sanitized everything but good grief!)
Quite a few choices. Taking your wife, gf or daughter here can take away a lot of shopping time :-)
I went in today to buy a couple things and use my birthday gift coupon. First, I have to mention that the two people that helped me in makeup were AMAZING. So nice and gave great recommendations. I wish I got their names but it was a tall guy and a girl with dark hair. They were incredible and I wish the rest of the staff were up to par with their customer service. Went up to the register and it was akward at first. The girl just stood there and didnt say anything so I was like.... Hi Im here to buy this and grab my birthday gift. She pretty much dead pan told me that they were out of the birthday gifts. I wasnt even upset about that, I know that happens. Then before I could say anything, a woman Im assuming was a manager stepped in and was the same level of rude explaining that the birthday gift emails go out at the beginning of the month and to try another store with less traffic. I literally didnt say anything about being upset about it, they could have just been nice normal people and rung up the rest of my stuff and I would have been fine. Then I asked about the Ulta brand items I bought and whether it qualified for the 10 piece gift. Again, with a tone that felt like she was annoyed with me, she said it needs to be $19.99 of product .... Which if she would have nicely told me the amount to qualify I probably would have went over and grabbed more stuff. But it felt like they just wanted me to leave and didnt care. Both of them came off as super rude and unnecessary in our interaction. When I went to leave, the friend that was with me even said are you sure you dont want to just return that stuff? They were super rude... It was that obvious. So maybe the register staff can get some tips from the makeup team on how to appropriately interact with customers.
Be up-to-date on your promotions please. I came in today Monday, December 14 and I purchased over $200 worth of gifts. I was told that I would be getting a free pallet (the Kylie one) with my purchase after check out the nice lady called her manager and the manager said that the promotion ended Sunday but the pallet was already scanned. The manager should have honored it for the last day since you are not up-to-date on your promotions. Especially around the holiday season, being professional is the least you can do. Situations like these make the front check cashiers look bad. Managers fault on this one.
It’s really discouraging when you’re out shopping and trying to support one of you favorite businesses and you are being blatantly followed around the store. I usually shop at the Washington square location but decided to give this one a try. I still purchased my items as I was in a time crunch but I will not be returning. Not to mention some of the staff were gossiping about another customer the entire duration I was in the store. Very disappointed in the staffs behavior.Edit #1 8/25/21I came back to edit my review. I had the most pleasant experience with the staff on shift the morning 8/19/21 I really wish i could remember their names. They were beyond helpful and kind. Completely changed my view of this location.
Ulta has the worst customer service (via phone, not store) I have ever received. I placed a curbside order on a Sunday at 1 PM, I was not notified that my order was ready for pick up. Called customer service on Monday, asked service if the location was open (we have poor AQI here, so I’d understand a close) they said no, they are open and they are getting your order ready. This was at 10:45 AM. I received and email that said they were getting my order ready and it would be available for pick up soon (10:56 AM). Called service back at 3:00 PM asking for an update. Customer service told me to call back tomorrow. I processed to ask if the location was closed, customer service said no they are open. I asked them to please check their internal systems for store closures. Service then said “yes.... the store is closed”. Ok, not hard. When will the store open? “Sept 18, if you do not get your order by the 18th it will be canceled.” Wonderful Ulta, thank you.
Only reason its not a 5 is you cant try it there. Seriously ok I can return it but some people need to grab some make me pretty in the jar, before one may have a date or the need the upgrade asap. No lady wants to try it then come back because u look like chewbacca no good. The salon was awesome my hair cut was perfect christine was friendly and cut my curls better than anyone ever has. More samples would be awesome.
I’ve gave this place more than two chances. Horrible place, horrible at communication. The employees just pretend they know about the product and they know nothing. The store hours say they open at 10am and their answering machine says 10am and I drive all the way here for them to have a piece of paper that says they open at non. A bunch of employees in there have no customer service standards. They just stand around talking about immature topics . Very unprofessional.
Amazing I had to comeback twice in a day
Very helpful employees and great selection
Shoutout to Jackie for being super awesome and helpful. Would ask her for advice again
My go-to beauty supply store. Im always impressed by Ultas selection (especially their online selection, but I prefer to shop in-store!), I can usually always find what I need here. The staff is usually chill and nice, as well as knowledgeable about beauty products 💅💄
Employees are friendly and helpful, knowledgeable too! Great selection of makeup, skincare and fragrance. Theres also a salon in the back of the store, but Ive never had my hair cut here.
If I could give this place a no star I would for such bad customer service. I have been recently going through allergies the past few months narrowing down several allergies from products, so there was several times I had to go in and return a few items the returning process is not as pleasant as it should have been ...The way the products were fumbled with isnt my concern, very rude and not considerate, Severe allergies to products is a real thing so thanks for snarky attitude let alone the remarks shouted from across the room when I was clearly the only customer in the room I can see why no one wants to visit your location. Checking for the ingredients on products shouldnt feel like Im being breathed upon and followed, that was the last time I ever stepped foot at your location, heres a tip if you would like for your clientele to be able to check the ingredients at a prompt timing without feeling the need to jump to conclusions of someone trying to take an item unauthorized please dont place the security tag on the LIST OF INGREDIENTS I had to go out of my way to check online at your store during my visit, how uncomfortable your staff made me feel. You lost a loyal client. Fix you staff, your labels and your frowns 🙃.
Always like browsing at ulta and buying some Good make-up/personal products. I only wish they would give better deals on the $3.50 coupon. How about $10 off or $20 if you spend a certain amount in the store or on line.
Its a nice clean store with employees that definitely know how to tailor and sell their products. They are definitely not a place to find deals. I compared a few of their products to others online and found they generally are more expensive. However, you can download their app which would probably have some offers. But if youre the person that wants consistent and solid Brands they will have it.
Snobs for employees, but great products for fair prices. If you know what you are looking for and dont need any help, youll enjoy the products. However, if you need assistance, good luck?!
Terrible customer service and I was profiled as soon as I hit the door. I’ll take my business to Sephora. This location is as absolute joke as well as its employees. They could use some unconscious bias training.
They have good products, good vibe. Slightly pricey. Easily could drop $$$ if not being careful. They even have vegan hair die which is awesome!
Nice store
Selection was good, but overwhelming w/out good customer service. They are busy & unfriendly, in too much of a hurry to really help. Not sure if trying makeup isn’t allowed or they are just too busy to bother. And the “return it if you don’t like it” policy they push instead of allowing you to try a sample in store is awful. I bought the mascara the salesperson pushed & it wasn’t good at all for what I asked (long-wearing not smudging, it’s worse than any drugstore Mascara I’ve tried) & I feel like I was snookered into a “push this product this month” deal. Now I’m stuck unable to return it in the window as I live 5 hours away.
Nice selections and nice staff
They have just about every beauty need and the staff are friendly and very helpful. I was so confused on what straight iron to get and style salon lady was there to help me. Havent tried it yet but if I dont like it, I can return. Their return policy is really good.
Good selection of products. This was my first time going into an Ulta. Had lots of staff ready and willing to help. Got some great recommendations.
I came into the store looking for a product that I saw online. Right away I was helped by Naomi. Because of her I left in such a positive mood. She steered me towards the right product for my skin. She was a very pleasant and down to earth person to talk to. I hope shes still there when I need to buy more makeup!
I recieved an Ulta shipment and something in it was broken and leaking; I called this store and spoke to Kayla on the phone and she not only spoke to me politely and respectfully, but she went above and beyond to solve my problem. Even though they didn’t have the item in stock (I think it was an online-only item), I got some friendly advice on how to return my item! I always love going to this store and the customer service I receive is always personable and helpful.
Ive never been treated like royalty before. The workers here were happy and eager to help what I was looking for.Thank you!
This is the only place I go to get my hair done because they consistently do an awesome job. Ask for Bailey. She costs a little more than the other stylists but its because she is the best.
Good if you dont want to take a trip to Sephora lol
Okay, I get that its supposed to be a med to high end beauty boutique but I feel like they seek out the smoothest most unfriendly people to work there. Its a customer service job...if you are going to welcome someone when they enter your store...say it like youre glad theyre there..not like you are sifting through guests seeking out the worthy ones.Another customer was returning something and was told that they stopped carrying item so they couldnt do return??? She had a receipt and bought it at their store...She probably wont be back and Im even reconsidering shopping there...
Had to bring back some items that didnt work. The return was easily done. Will return again.
Rude people. The store puts things out in multiples that you cant even buy. Why put something out that you cant buy? Their excuse was that they were returned and now they are samples...even though theres a sample right on the counter thats open and obviously used. Why stack more on the side of the counter with more product that is for sale? Went to two different stores and the ladies didnt even know what I was referencing in their ad. Dont waste you time or gas going there. Wont ever be shopping at an ulta again.
Thanks Christine for doing my hair!!! ☺️
Great customer service and a lot variety of beauty products
When I go to Ulta Beauty I’m mostly always disappointed, seems like they can’t keep stock on things, what’s the point?
I really like my hairdresser (April) at the Ceder Mills Crossing store. She really listens to me and does what I want, not what she wants (Ive had plenty of hairdressers that do what they want).
Ive been to this store quite a few times and have never experienced good customer service. I know what I want and really dont need help, so Im ok with rarely (maybe ever?) being offered assistance. But, my most recent visit was so bad I felt like it warranted a review. The front cashier literally glared at me when I walked in. There were tons of staff and only a few customers, but other than being glared at, I wasnt even acknowledged because the employees were all talking to each other. In the end, I realize I much prefer Sephora at Washington Square because they are always friendly and have more high-end products.
Like the store and the selection go there all the time, but when I ask any employees there questions almost all of them have an attitude and look at me like I just asked them to give me all the product for free. The only helpful person there is the tall guy he’s super nice and always helps me find the best eyeshadow for my money!
I havent bought makeup in about 20 years and have no idea what to do with it, so I wouldnt know where to start looking. Staff were super nice and very helpful finding me an easy-to-use concealer I can use for interviews and events!
Call my daughters love looking at all the stuff they have straight irons curling irons blow dryers makeup thats all we can talk about all the way home 7 hour drive back home take your earplugs dad
The Washington Square mall location is the worst ulta Ive ever been to, and Ive been to four of them. I had FOUR employees follow me around, literally just a few feet away from me, the ENTIRE time I was there trying to shop for a gift for my daughter. The first ten or fifteen minutes I just thought they were being chatty and wanted to be available if I needed help, but after that, it became clear that they were profiling me and WATCHING me. Made me EXTREMELY uncomfortable, and I plan on filing a civil suit against them because it went SO FAR BEYOND simply keeping an eye on someone, and was TOTALLY uncalled for!
This five stars is mostly for the Ulta Dermologica Pro, Amy, that did my #facefit facial at this location. The Face Fit Facial is only $10 and she bent over backwards to find products that would work with my sensitive skin. My skin is still patchy pink, especially on my cheeks, but that is more a fault of my skin and not her skill. Im betting for people with more typical or average skin (or sensitive skin that is not affected by aloe) these products will work perfectly. As it is, my skin still feels smooth and soft, so I know I have some good effects as well! I would recommend her to everyone!
Nice selection but I wish this store had more of a warmer feeling compared to other Ultas.
Its variety of products and helpful freindly employees
F this place. first time walked in there, no hello can I help you no nothing but followed us a few feet behind us like we were thiefs and we were shopping for perfume and cologne which is not cheap. We felt so uncomfortable that we left and bought our stuff elsewhere. Its so sad that people here judge us WRONG. Everytime I go shopping I witness a theft. I always see from kids to adults stick items under their clothing and walk out the store. but they follow us like were the thiefs but its their own kind thats stealing.
A must do!
Wife loves this place, probably because she is into beauty products. Friendly and helpful service is always a plus. I would like to see more mens products.
Worst salon ever, my sister did her hair and makeup there, and wow the makeup was soooo bad the eyes makeup was disgusting and the face makeup was just fundation and highlight, no contour and no blush. not to mention the hair and how bad it was. for God sake she the work of your employees because we dont want to pay money for unprofessional people. thank you for making my sister cry on her wedding day!!!!!
Really unfortunate customer service experience. This was my first time inside an Ulta in years and it really left a bad taste in my mouth. The store was disorderly and the staff were just so checked out.
I purchased some perfume their a couple of days ago and the woman who helped me choose a bottle was very helpful and quite gorgeous I may add.
Horrible customer service. Would not provide foundation samples. Always a good idea to try on foundation at home before purchasing. I was thinking about switching to Ulta from Sephora and absolutely will not now.
Its got a great selection for great prices, but its the setup Im not a fan of... also the sales people were kind, but just hard to track down for answering my questions.
Go to April to get your hair done. Shes amazing.
Great products not so helpful staff.. but will help when found and asked.
Its great for makeup but unless you come in looking like an Instagram model, theyre gunna treat you like you dont be long there
Had absolutely no idea what I was doing when I went in there. Some nice people helped me find the right concealer for my skin and were very nice. I feel like some of the other employees were rude or at least a little pretentious about me not knowing anything about makeup though. Prices are steep also.
Madison is the only person I trust with my hair. She is worth every dollar.
Any place that honors a sale price that just expired is well worth shopping at.
Awesome store, lovely workers, but the hair salon ladies are a little rude.
The staff arent exactly friendly. They act as if they are Hollywood stars and you are bothering them by asking a question. Whatever training they teach these people is very off putting and makes you not want to shop there. But they do have a wide selection. So....whatever.
I loved it there my wife and daughter shopped there for christmas presents
Love this place and the people who work here, my go to for any makeup, however seems some brands and newer stuff I cant find here, i can easily find the brands I trust
Everyone was so helpful and very accommodating to find what i needed.
Not too impressed today...I used to live in Beaverton and this is the ULTA I always visited. I drove from Hillsboro to go here today because I really wanted to buy new makeup and I was hoping that the girls at ULTA could help me. I have always appreciated their personal flair and diversity of styles. For me, buying makeup is an overwhelming task. There are so many choices and I had no idea where to start. I admit, I had an expectation that someone would be about to help me. It just didnt end up happening. The store seemed sufficiently staffed. It was early Monday afternoon, and it wasnt too busy. I walked the aisles searching, and still didnt have any staff approach me to help although several walked past me.I suppose I couldve asked for help, but I felt a little uncomfortable doing that because the staff there were doing tasks, and they appeared busy and unavailable. I ended up picking out a couple eye liners and then decided to put them back because the visit just wasnt turning out as Id hoped.I ended up leaving the store buying nothing. No new makeup. Mission impossible not accomplished. I left feeling disappointed, defeated, and a little sad about the whole thing.I dont think my experience represents everyones, but I do feel that if you are wanting one on one help, perhaps this is just not the location to visit for that.
Huge selection of beauty products, wide variety of brands and great prices. Friendly staff who will help you find what you need.
The customer service here is hit or miss. Sometimes they are super helpful and nice, while other times they couldnt be bothered to help you.
Pricey but great service.
Friendly staff and always have what I want.
If you need your (or the ladies in you lifes) hair done, ask for Stephanie. Shes the best!
Found my shampoo
Lots of beauty items! Great sales.
Everything you could possibly need for everything!!! More importantly, our malesales associate knew EVERYTHING about what was in the store!🍸👧 Wha-hoo!!!
My experience was really good, jacob was really nice and helpful
Good quality stuff. A little expensive
My favorite place for beauty supplies
Great place to shop as usual but the snooty staff can be a turn off. Sallys in Wilsonville is my first go to.
Horrible .. over 30 minutes late for a simple eyebrow waxing
Grat plce
Has not improved. Stock and staff complete garbage. Zero customer service. Used to come here weekly, now 1 x per year, and disappointed each time. Why bother?
My favorite place ❤️😍 love it!!!
Always very attentive and knowledgeable/helpful!
Why is this popping up on google when I never searched for it? This is an add.
One of my favorite places!
They burned my eye brows and went refund my money Dont get your eye brows done here they will burn them
The salon is very knowledgeable!
Never went there
Who doesnt like Ulta!
Great variety of beauty products.
Worst customer service. I have come in 3 times and not gotten a single person to help me. Very disappointed
Very kind workers.
Oh Soo much!
Nice place
My go too.
