I took my 99 Expedition here to get ball joints, upper control arms, and wheel hub/bearings replaced. They did a great job and when I was paying they let me know it would be about $200 less than what they had quoted me. Aside from that they also noticed I had a small oil leak and quoted me a fair price to get that taken care of. They said they would have fixed it then and there if it wasnt over my budget which i thought was very cool because they were wanting to do more than What was asked yet kept in mind the price we agreed upon. Some other shops might have done the repair regardless if it exceeds the quoted price and then you would have to pay more than what you expected. I genuinely appreciated that and it showed me theyre Very professional and kind.Another time I stopped by because i had a screw in my tire. The mechanic went to work on my truck immediately and I was on my way in no time. Very great price for that service as well.I will be returning to this shop in the future for my auto repair needs and I would recommend it to others too.

I called many shops trying to get my belt fixed on my 2010 Ford fusion, the other shops quoted me $300 plus..... I called Birchwood and they quoted me $150. After they had my car, they called to tell me the issue and verify with me before they started working on it (which I very much appreciated) after all said and done it costed me $250. The man in the office was very professional and knowledgeable.LADIES, this shop wont take advantage of you for. Honesty and integrity is everything.I would highly recommend Birchwood Auto.

These folks were $700 less than the other guy. I kid you not. The other guy said I needed 4 ball joints replaced and I only needed two. They were also around $100 less on coolant repairs.

Would recommend! This place was fast, affordable, and had nice & knowledgeable staff. I had my Ford Explorer towed there with little notice. They gave me an estimate within the hour, and had it fixed before the end of the day.

I took my Honda Civic in to have the clutch fixed and on the way out of the driveway my drivers side axel broke,I was devastated,every penny I had went towards my clutch. These guy went above and beyond, they put another axel in and called me this morning and told me I could pick up my car and it was on them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and God bless.

These guys are wonderful! Ive had something weird going on with my car for the past few months now. Ive called around and have stressed over the fact that all of the places have seemed confused by what could be going on with my car. Every place Ive called has mentioned the diagnostic itself costing anywhere from $70-250ish. So I was pleasantly surprised to learn that whole they werent able to figure out what was wrong with it, they charged me nothing for the diagnostic - just the very reasonably priced oil change I was already going to get done! These are very honest people. Id recommend 100%. Thank you so much!

Good thing ASAP Towing in Bellingham wanted your money instead for a tow back home to Seattle !!!!

I brought my 2001 Saturn here last week after it broke down about six weeks ago. After it broke down, I had it towed to a different repair shop and they ran a test to determine what the problem was. That shop determined that it was a blown head gasket and that the repair would be ~$2200. I looked around and found Birchwood Auto and decided to bring my Saturn here because the head gasket repair would be ~$2000 and one of the owners owns seven of them. Hard to go wrong with someone that has so much experience with a certain make.When I brought it in, they told me they wanted to run their own test to double check. I told them that that was fine and they found that there were several leaks in some hoses. After replacing the hosing, they re-ran the test and found that the head gasket was fine. Within a week of dropping off my car I was able to pick it back up. Once everything was said and done the repairs cost me $330, less than a fifth of what I was expecting to spend.I cant recommend them enough. They not only saved me over $1600, but they also kept me in the loop the whole time in terms of progress on my car and they were super friendly. I will definitely bring my cars back here for any future work!

I jus moved to Bellingham and was looking for a decent repair shop. I found them on Google and they came highly recommended; they did not disappoint. Not only were they straight forward with me about what needed to be done, but they were the only shop that I called out of 6 that were able to give me a quote by phone and answer all of my questions.They also don’t charge you a full hour for a diagnostic if they’re able to find out what’s wrong in less than that time. I also appreciate that the people who answer the phones are actually knowledgeable as well about cars and services rather than just “passing it on” or “having someone call me back with an answer”.They’re all so very kind and they seem like a tight knit bunch. There was also an adorable Rottweiler there named Winston who was just the sweetest! I’m glad I was able to find a repair shop that I can trust to provide great work done by great people. Fantastic service! My truck blew out a spark plug and it broke the coil over the plug, happened right next door so I stopped in to see if it was possible to be squeezed in same day, dropped in at 2 and they were able to get it done by 4, and much cheaper than I expected! Would definitely recommend and will be back if anything else goes wrong

They have the sweetest office dog, who is a huge teddy bear.And when I picked up my car one of the mechanics was jump starting another car at the self wash next door. I was visiting the area and my A/C was only working intermittently. To their credit, they got me an appointment, diagnosed the problem as a bad compressor and, $800 and two days later, returned my car to me blowing cold air. Unfortunately it only worked for an hour or two before it failed again. When I called them, I learned that, instead of the new compressor they had promised me, they had installed a rebuilt one. The owner told me that my system must have a bad leak, which somehow he had not been able to diagnose. I brought the car to my local shop when I got home and they were able to quickly diagnose that the problem was a $15 relay. Problem solved. If these guys had properly diagnosed the problem I would not have had to spend $800 on a compressor that was supposed to be new, but was actually a rebuilt one. I would not use this shop again.

Came in with my Subaru Legacy 2013 and they were able to quickly diagnose the problem and resolve it. On top of that, they did my engine oil after the inspection very quickly. Ive been taking my car to this shop for nearly 2 years. They changed ownership over the summer. So I was a little Leary as I found the prior owner very good to work with and trustworthy, in my view. Over the weekend my check engine light came on and the Lexus was running pretty rough. Anyway, the new owner Tom and his wife Chris allowed me to bring the car right over this late morning right after I called them. Within about an hour and a half they had it all good to go!! And they fixed a noise in the steering for me that was quite irritating. They saw it was a simple fix and didnt even charge me for that! All in all I was very pleased. Tom and Chris impressed me as being honest, down to earth good people!! I would recommend their services. HIGHLY recommend Birchwood Auto Repair. Ive had three instances of fantastic service with them: first, Jay was able to diagnose and fix a bad/melted lead to the battery that a different mechanic wasnt able to find after taking it in twice! Second, they got me in on very short notice for an oil change and took care of it quickly. Lastly, the day after my oil change at Birchwood my alternator went out. I called over and they were once again able to accommodate me on short notice and get it fixed in less than an hour. Very very appreciative of the work these kind, knowledgeable folks do!

I had a potential gas leak in the middle of summer heat and called a couple places in town to try to get it checked out. When I called Birchwood a lovely lady answered and, after I explained the reason for my call, told me to come right over so they could assess it right away. They diagnosed and repaired the leak in less than a day!! I truly felt taken care of. (The other place I had called, returned my call 2 days later). This morning I was in a car accident that completely ripped off the front of my bumper and tore out one of my headlights. I drove into Birchwood Auto Repair hoping to just get a quote because I’m a college student on a budget and I figured fixing my car would not be an option any time soon. Even though I was told this shop doesn’t typically do collision repairs, Tom was able to zip tie and Frankenstein my car back together today in 2 hours. The service from everyone I worked with was wonderful. These people are warm, friendly, and efficient and the price was really decent too. I am very grateful I crashed my car in front of this shop haha.

Needed the thermostat changed for a while, was putting it off due to past quotes given from other shops around town (>$200). I’m SO glad I found this place!! Was in and out quickly, about $130 for a thermostat change and I got the pleasure of hanging out with their adorable pup Jack for a good chunk of my wait, making the time fly. Everyone here was very friendly and one of the owners even came out and showed me why the thermostat wasn’t working as it should!
