I visited the store on 9/18 to receive service at their salon. The service I received by their stylist was nowhere near what I requested (I confirmed via showing the stylist a picture she was comfortable doing the color, she said yes). My hair was damaged in the process. The stylist didn’t even wipe the dye out of my face, she was trying to rush me out and I had to request for wipes. I noticed also that some dye was left on my scalp (not the small residue after coloring, but think goopy dye from not washing properly). The stylist then confirmed she received training and was told the deep conditioning treatment she used on my hair was not supposed to be used as it was not good for hair. I was scheduled for a conditioning treatment on Saturday 9/25, which the stylist said I’d have to pay for, but then a manager said that was incorrect and the stuff the stylist had said about the treatment was also incorrect. I have an ongoing conversation with Guests Services that has gotten nowhere. I have been refused a refund for the services even though due to the damage THEY caused, I cannot get a re-do. I have spent money out of my own pocket trying to condition my hair back to life. This is beyond ridiculous. I’ve been extremely patient with them as they attempt to assist me but I can’t get answers.*no test strand was done prior to bleaching or coloring.Stylist said I had Henna in my hair which I’ve never done.Do not recommend the Salon services at this location as it doesn’t seem their stylists know what they’re doing or they can’t get their story straight.Pictures added to show the damage and coloring issue.
My experience on 10/23 in the salon was the worst Ive ever had! The very inexperienced stylist did the exact opposite of what I asked for. Shocked that she was allowed to pretend to be a stylist!!
I highly recommend the benefit brow bar here. Avery did an incredible job for my brow wax. She listened to my concerns about my eyebrows usually being waxed too short, and they came out amazing! A painless process to schedule an appointment online as well.
I recently visited the Ulta store in Billings for mascara - and walked out with over $500 in amazing products! A young woman - Zoe C. - helped me find hair products, various primers, several mascaras, nail polish, etc. She chose the perfect colors for me - and I absolutely love everything I brought home!!! Zoe was kind, patient, and showed me different products that I might be interested in - a perfect saleswoman - never pushy, listened to what I had to say… anticipated my needs and wants. I’m definitely coming back, and I hope she’s working when I do!!!
This store is a joke. I was super ticked off and the fact that they wouldn’t honor the price because it was put in the wrong spot for certain items is ridiculous. I kindly mentioned a few things to the store manager and she literally did not care that everything was put in the wrong spot. She claimed that they were trying the best they could… it sure didn’t look like it when I had to go back four times in line because things were not put in the right spots. they also had a bunch of cards from 2019 a promotions that couldn’t be used in the salon.. Do not shop at this location. Go to Sephora they are worth your time.
I normally shop at Sephora because its closer to my house, but today I had to go to Ulta to get my Deva Curl shampoo and conditioner (If youre a curly or wavy girl, I highly recommend). Since I was there, I thought id get two birds with one stone and find a foundation that was comparable to the brand I currently use, but cheaper (currently use Nars). Aubrey found me and assisted me. She was awesome! She listened, asked good questions, and ultimately helped me find a cheaper (still higher end brand), and a great color match. 10/10 would recommend working with Aubrey. I always enjoy shopping at Ulta in Billings, Montana. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable, the store is clean and the store is well stocked.

Ultra has great products. The staffing here is not kind and welcoming in any way at all. Everyone should order curbside so they get used to keeping an eye on the online check ins rather than waiting for twenty minutes then finally calling every time.
Purchased a lipstick and lip gloss and returned it 3 days later and because I used my stimulus debt card which are non reloadable they wouldnt give me my money back only a gift card making me keep my money and purchase in their store which in my opinion is stealing my money I offered my own debt card and they said they couldnt put it on that either I shouldnt be forced to keep my money their no other store does that with stimulus card they return ur money or apply it to my othdebt card I will not be going back !!!
The “manager” was extremely rude—super hateful. I plan to cancel my credit card and shop elsewhere. Never had a bad experience till today at the Billings Ulta location.
Called to make a hair appt . She said she had an appointment available from 5-6, got a confirmation text to be there . Showed up at 5, the lady working in the salon came up to me super rude saying I don’t know who or why someone would have booked you cause I do not have time I’m very busy. Went there for absolutely nothing. Maybe whoever makes the appointments should confirm with the stylist that they have time before they schedule an appointment. Definitely won’t be making an appointment there ever again!!
Great customer service. Especially for guys who have no idea where to look for anything in this store. They took the time to make sure I got the right product for my wife.
The employees were very nice and helpful. A young lady helped me find some foundation and everything was very clean. Everyone was wearing their masks and cleaned the reader n counter after each customer which was great to see.
I called a few weeks ago and spoke to “Jess” about getting my hair done. She sounded super confident and professional when on the phone. Today when I showed up for my appointment she acted as if she didn’t remember anything we talked about, as if she couldn’t do it (mind you, I live out of state) She then took 20+ minutes mixing the product, kept asking coworkers what they thought and how they thought it would turn out. She was very unprofessional the whole time, badmouthed other customers in the store and other coworkers as well. When I left after my appointment I was VERY displeased with her service, and with the terrible way she left my hair!!

The red haired lady with the orange lanyard rolled her eyes at me after I told her I didnt want to sign up for their rewards program. She also stood there and made us wait in line for the one cashier while she was doing nothing. Have had this experience at the cash registers several times now.
Wish the workers were a little more eager to help color match. Sometimes you just need someone elses opinion. Unless you look a certain way they dont really want to help. Ugly people need makeup too lol
Always happy shopping at Ulta for all my makeup and skincare products. Local store is well stocked, organized, and clean. I am greeted in a friendly manner and someone else will ask me if I need help. The girls seem helpful to me. Plus they always follow up when I check out to see if I found what I came in to purchase. I end up talking to at least 3 different girls when I go there. I think they do a good job with customer service. Never had a problem. Easily my favorite store in Billings!
Some of the most condescending, rudest women Ive ever had to tolerate in my life. they cant take a joke. Anything but helpful. Hire different employees and maybe Ill come back but until then Ill avoid that hell hole like a sinner avoids church. Get over yourselves.
I bought a gift card for my boss and the clerk asked if I had a phone number for rewards. I told her I dont ever shop there I was just getting this for my boss. So she said, does she have a rewards card? I gave her the number and sure enough my boss has a rewards card. So she got bonus points for her gift. I thought that was very good customer service! Would definitely go back.

My sister and I went because I got new hair care products there and wanted to see if they had something else I needed, I was having difficulty with my curly hair. And my sister were browsing for 20 minutes, no one greeted us and I was trying to find one of the girls for help and the only person i saw in the whole hair care section disappeared after speaking to another customer who had been there shorter then we had. I know 20 minutes isnt long but it is when your lost and need help
I always receive good service here. They have the selection expected of a national chain.I dont live locally, but have visited the store several times while working in the area so may have a unique perspective.The team there is VERY helpful with makeup recommendations, beauty services and in general.Its a better experience then visiting one of their stores in a busier city.
I am so displeased with how my boyfriend was treated when he went in to pick up my online order, that was already paid for. It was a singular palette, shouldnt have taken long to fill the order. He went in with the confirmation email and asked to get the order (he is also listed as my alternate pick-up person). He was asked a BATTERY of questions by one particular sales associate about where i was, why he was picking it up for me, where was the car I was parked in, why couldnt I just come on myself..etc. I just had my cast removed from foot and ankle surgery, i was not getting out again, because it kind of hurt! What kind of customer service is that? It was so inappropriate and rude. Ill be taking my business to Sephora or elsewhere.

My friend had to drag me in here. Was not in the mood to look at a store full of make up. Not my thing but it was kinda cool. Not your typical make up place. They even have lotions and blow dryers and hair dryers and dye. I was shocked to see that they carry The Body Shop stuff.
Went in to get a trim it had been 6months since my last cut. Trim turned out to be a major cut. She was blowing my hair dry before she even touched my sides and top. Didnt even cut sides or top. Trim, should have ran after she got out the hair trimmers. Omg. My husband was like the back of your head has no hair it is all gone. Omg

I wasnt super impressed with the customer service. Most of the staff was standing around talking to each other and I tried getting 2 employees to help and they just kept talking to each other. I ended up having to have my husband help me color match my foundation.
It is honestly a hit or miss when you go to this location. I can walk in on a weekday and not be noticed . When ever I do need assistance I have to try and find someone who actually knows what I am looking for.

The ladies here are gorgeous, friendly, helpful, and willing to go on scavenger hunts for the perfume the someone sprayed before you got there that smells amazing.
I was in the Billings Montana store yesterday, & all of the ladies working there were so amazing! I have a couple of problem areas, due to being sick awhile back & all 3 ladies who helped me, took time to show me how to correct them, without making me feel any shame or embarrassment. That, is a beautiful memory, I will carry with me always! A huge thank you to you ladies & I look forward in seeing you all again!

I love Ulta Beauty, however the ladies that worked here are very rude. They don’t bother to ask if you need any help, and they are always talking to each other. Very disappointed in their employee choices at this establishment

I encountered an interaction between a disgruntled customer and the staff today and the Ulta staff handled the situation very professionally and stood their ground even while 2 separate people were talking down to them like they were trash. Normally Im not one to give a bad review but I feel needed to this time. Ive been an Ulta customer for about 4 years and normally Ive never had a reason to complain. But this time I felt like the cashier who helped could have been friendlier. She came across having attitude the moment I stepped up to her register. Now dont get me wrong, Ive worked retail and I understand we all have those days where maybe the day isnt going right, or some customer before had been a real a-hole so now its bugging you. But just try to at least be kind to those customers who arent being jerks, thats all. Thats why I am doing 3 stars, because as a former employee of the retail industry I get it.

The staff was very rude and wouldnt help. I was told she was busy when i had a question. Two other girls were just standing around talking and i couldnt get them to help either. The store wasnt even busy. I will take my business else were next time when my 15 yo needs expensive makeup.

Its terrible to be over looked but tou see others being asked if they NEED help but my hair is dark and all the ones being helped were white. The whole 45 minz i was in the store and when i told the girl cashier she completely acted as if i never oped my mouth but when i asked her where the manager was,she replied at break n the person behind had dark n blond highlights was complaining bout the same thing n i dnt even know the stranger but its Sad how people still practice racism. Went with my friend to get her hair dyed for the very first time, she wanted an ombre. The first time she got it done you couldnt even tell she had done anything to it and she paid $169 for it. When she went back to get it fixed the lady completely screwed up her hair. It looks horrible. It is way too light, probably because she left the dye in it for way to long because she was pre occupied with giving other people haircuts. I will never go back there again!

No one acknowledges your existence there. Its a joke for customer service. They dont say hi, ignore you when you ask for help, goof off with co workers instead of work, etc.Switched all my business to sephora where they actually help people or even say hello. If I need any products from there Id rather order them online and wait then ever go into that rude store.
