Go to Ed’s to get your keys. I had been to several lock and key businesses and no one else in town could help me with my older car or much less answer the phone. I called Ed’s on a Friday afternoon and they said bring the key and car and they would get it done. They fit me in to their busy schedule and did my keys in about 30 minutes. Great job and highly recommend.

Got the job done quick. no fuss. Knew what he was doing and was polite and informative. Offered to cone back and program accessories after we installed them.

Had to get a replacement key for my 2017 Subaru Forester. They had a key back in stock and was done in about 30 min. Cost was in line with expectations. Would recommend calling before showing up as they were fairly busy when I dropped my car off. Very nice courteous people.

The work by Matt was stellar. He checked 3 times and cut my security key like a champ. When programming the key he, without slowing the process, explained what he was doing and the car started without issues. Prior to letting me leave he double-checked his work and ensured he left it as clean as he found it.

They told me to bring my car Scott started working on it and didnt finish the job my car was able to drive before I came he left in the middle of working on my car didnt return I had to get my car towed his dad closed and left me stranded and told to come back Monday morning I took off of work just to get my car did because I work 12 hours 6days a week and me and my family have been doing business with them long as I can remember and all they said was get it towed back and leave it for a couple of days I would leave no stars but It want let me send

Excellent service!My nephew accidentally locked himself in the car and i called Ed in a panic. He said he was 15mins away, but arrived even EARLIER than the estimated time. we had been trying all throughout the 15mins to break the car windows with a hammer and even go through the trunk of the car, all unsuccesfully.Then Ed got on the scene and immediately took a tool out of his truck and unlocked the car door easily. in ADDITION to that, he did not charge us for the wonderful service he provided, saying they didnt charge for locked kids.Not all hereos wear capes, but Ed definitely should! My first experience excellent, next emailed he had car troubles after he did not show, I rebooked...he did not show and did not contact me. When I told him I resolved issue myself replied that I should find another locksmith in future. Wow... opposite of person I met and recommended to friends on first meeting. Clearly not worried about clients time. I work and need to be met as scheduled. Sad about this because I was happy with first contact, disappointed, then insulted by him for sharing how I 4 my issue that he ignored.

Only place in town that I found that can come an electronic car key. And both vehicles I had done was well below the dealership cost.

Terrible experience. Needed a new key to be made. Called them Saturday they took my money but couldnt make it. Called monday and they needed a pin number. Called Tuesday and they showed up for 10 min and they couldnt make it. Called Wednesday and they refunded me without letting me know saying we couldnt make the key. Terrible service. they cant even make keys with key in their name. Dont go here.

I was shopping and lost my keys. They arrived within a timely manner and quickly made me a new key for my car. They also followed me home and changed my locks. Super friendly and knowledgeable technician. Very satisfied! Would highly recommend.

This was the 5th place I called after being told 4 times that no technician was available at the time or in my area. They came to my house within 30 mins of my call and got me in my house. Wasnt happy about paying $85 but its worth it if you really need to get in your house which I did. The technician was very polite and service was quick. Took about 5 mins to get in. Very satisfied customer. Will use them again if needed!

You better check any work these guys do, they will lie to you and say they did something they did not. Took it back in and they lied a 2nd time. I guess they didnt think I would check it. Had to argue with them to finally get what I paid for.

I was stranded over the weekend at the Birmingham airport after losing keys out of town and they promised they could unlock my Jeep and make a key fob Monday morning. I taxied allllll the way back to the airport and waited 3 hours.They are still non responsive- will not answer or return a call. Now I have to get towed to the dealership for help.Very poor service and not standing by quote/commitment.

Have been incredibly pleased with the service from these guys time and time again. At a time when a particular Homewood locksmith saw a chance to make an absolute premium when I was looking for high-security locks, the guys at Ed’s showed me an equally secure solution that saved me well more than half. I appreciated their integrity and the speed with which the finished the services. On most occasions since, when I have needed other locksmith services, I have been pleased. I have recommended them to friends who have likewise been pleased. However, the reason I downgraded from 5 stars to 3 is the completely horrible—almost Marx Brothers Comical—method my last service was. I called back to check on order, they had no record of who the technician was, if he even placed an order, or obviously if he would even come back. “I’m sure we have it written down somewhere” or “I’m sure it must’ve gotten ordered” or “I’m sure he’ll get back in touch” do not inspire confidence. Plus he left a mess and did not address or suggest help for the broken door frame.

They know what they are doing at Eds Lock and Key. They have an awesome selection of products, and very good prices compared to other locksmiths. I once locked my keys up in the ignition at a funeral service, and they responded and had my vehicle unlocked in less than 30 minutes after I called them.

Used them consistantly to duplicate keys.Got the impression that they needed a efficient secretary to handle officework, but everyone there is the ever-busy blue collar type that will get their hands (etc) dirty to try to solve the customers problems.Working hard doesnt always solve all unexpected problems, and somehow there seems to be an efficiency issue (as there are in many machine or mechanic shops), but no one is perfect. Nor do they claim to be.Maybe the issue is that theyre over-managed, but at least theyre trying too hard instead of giving some weak effort.Keeping valuable items safe by locking them away is as touchy an issue as a border wall is, especially when security is being tested regularly. Technology and high prices always present a better solution, you just have to pay hand-over-fist...so you cant be on a shoestring budget AND complain when the solutions involve shoestrings.On an unrelated note, having a plan B for what to do if a car key is lost is one of the better ideas if you value your transportation.Get a spare key BEFORE you think you need one!

Do not use!!!. After six months of constant problems from a bad key program. After agreeing to fix problem again. Told me it would be tomorrow before they could get to me. The owner came to my work to repair at 5:30pm.today. When I ask him why he showed up today instead of tomorrow. He got mad. Cussed me and told me he didnt set in GD traffic for nothing. And that its not his problem. I have three boys and yet again we will be taking a cab. Waist of money. Do not use. Rude and very unprofessional.
